Well summer is coming and the A/C needs attention. This system was working but would slowly stop working as weeks/months would go by. I'd have to get a can of refrigerant and top off the system to stay comfortable. With a little down time, we decided to see what we could find, and this fix turned out to be really easy and is holding up great!!

**No refrigerant was actually released it's a joke if you can't tell**
**so don't send in the agents**

The legendary Austin. Solid job guys! Great time to do it before that Missouri heat kicks in.

I have a 1997 Cherokee and it's been slow leaking for many years. Now I'm at the point that the freon charge only lasts a week. I've brought it to 4 different mechanics and they don't know where it's leaking from. They said to remove the dash would be a huge job and could be costly. Any suggestions? Should I ask them to use leak dye? Or maybe just replace the O rings? I've been the original owner and it only has 107K miles

I would think 1 of those shops would have put leak dye in to check. If they dont see anything then yes it could be leaking behind the dash out of site. If you decide to pull dash I'd toss in a new heater core while you have it torn apart too. If the charge only last a week then the leak should be pretty noticeable. Removing dash sucks but isn't impossible. Most people loosen it and swing it back enough to get access to blower assembly housing. All this just adds up to how bad do you want A/C.
