$5 Camping hack that will help your rig!!!
As someone who only buy used cars and drive long distance with 230K on the dash, I definitely understand the “is my car driving different” thoughts when eveything is more than likely good lol great video my man!!
Great video my man !!
Good times!!
Yes it was!
“They” say (or would if seen) your wheel studs are too short for your adapters/spacers. Do you find that to be tue? Any issues? Any plans to remedy? I have them also; JK wheels. (‘98 build in slow progress).
@@tabelq yes your rear axle studs are to short and you will need to swap them with slightly longer studs. I've already done this and have had no issues.
Do you have the link or the size of the rear shocks?
I used Americantrucks.com for the lowering kit. You can search shocks for max trac and it will show you the ones needed for a 4inch drop. $54.00 for rear set of 2
I was watching another video and they tested the jackerys. The old style has a different kind of battery and only went to say 1000 watts. The new one the same wattage gives out like 4000 because it has a new kind of battery. Hope this helps. They suggested to Jackery to get rid of the old style or make a big point to tell people that it puts out less than the new style.
@@fishingfreckles yeah I think Jackery found the issue because they released a new 1000 series. Unfortunately those of us with the old one are stuck.
Im only here watching this to change out this steering wheel. I think the stock XJ steering wheel looks ugly
I got a 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 x 4 4.0 straight 6. Driver side rear drive shaft axle bearings went out I'm getting ready to pull it out and press new bearings on right along the side of the road at the hotel while my company has got me out down the road working..... If you have any helpful advice or hints please let me know......??????
@@ASwordOfTheLord if your talking about the outer axle bearings behind the brakes go get a 5lb harbor freight slide hammer, rear axle bearing puller, bearing race and seal driver. These tools will make it a 5min job I literally just did both of mine. Also go to autozone for the bearing part# 6408 and seal part# 8835a. Mind you the parts are for a chrysler 8.25. The Oriley's bearing isn't a direct match so dont use it. Tool cost all together is around$170.00 save cost and rent them if you want from parts store but I bought mine because having the tools when I need them is just my thing. Small tub of bearing grease and some diff oil and yer back on the road. Dont remove the spider gears. Just pull c-clips and slide out axle shafts slowly. Red scotch pad and a few cans of brake clean to clean surfaces were bearing go. Hope this helps! Good luck but with the right tools simple job. 👍
Head on down to tractor supply get yourself some number 12 grade bolts and you'll be good to go
Nope the best sleeping bag is a military sleeping bag you can get a world war II version at the army surplus store in grayling Michigan. ... I slept in that thing and it was below zero out and you couldn't even tell.... It's a heavy sleeping bag but for sure it isn't the best sleeping bag...

So looks pretty obvious.. but installing this link means that bracket you can see attached to the body at 7:10 is now not used? I have a lot of play in the 'rod' that goes into that bracket. Don't think that's what's causing my clicking while turning in 4WD though.
@@Gareth96v1 This kit replaces everything that was factory. Not sure about the clicking your hearing. Possibly front axle shaft ujoints or front driveshaft u joints?? They usually make a click sound when bad.
Should I just axel swap or do this
If you have a Dana 35, swap. If you have a 8.25, do a brake conversion.
Been wanting to do on my zj
@6:08 heater hose definitely does not work the best. It swells and turns into goo when used with trans fluid (and motor oil). Then when it starts to leak the cooling fan blows it all over the rest of your rubber components ruining them as well, motor mounts, cab, and inner sidewall of your tire. Worst part is that liquid rubber slime will get on your skin anyime you reach into the engine bay making working on your car miserable as no amount of scrubbing gets it off your skin. Spend the extra money and buy the transmission cooler hose rated for atf.
@@ryzen2381 yep I cought this mistake and made a follow-up video for it.
Hell yea devin!
I was just thinking about doing a conversion instead of replacing the drum breaks
Wished these worked on a 93 lol
Hey Brandon I did do the the SYE install with your video help that turned out great thanks.
@@ericgunnyporter8964 Thats Awesome!! Happy it helped.
Hey Brandon good to know you. I follow your channel all the time I have a 2001 Jeep XJ that I'm currently doing the floor over the lift was done , 4.5 old man emu all around on 32's . I enjoy all the mods you've done and continue to do keep up the great work and thanks . Eric from Maryland
Did you just remove the connector bracket and drilled a screw? Or did you adjust the height of the connector then screwed in? Also about what size screw did you use? Thank you
I didn't move it much away from the original location. Need to make sure the cluster connects back to pigtails. Screws were just something I had laying around. I will say drill hole first so you don't crack the connector and use small short screws. Big and long screws will definitely break something or damage the wiring behind dash panel.
Great build as I've been researching how to build one of these. The one tip I had seen in another vid is to mount that air valve facing up. That'll solve the water back spray issue.

I actually found your video trying to go trhough options to modernize my XJ. It is a 98 2 door model and honestly, I just want to keep the body and the parts I cant replace by any means like the dash and door panels. I think new wrangler seats can be adapted into the XJ (at least the front ones) and some other things. For the steering wheel, replacing the buttons for other functions sounds amazing, not sure what functionality would be best for most people, but Audio controls are super popular for this location, so it could be a good bet if possible.
11:04 Yes yes yes. Happens often to me as well. I think I manufacture odd noises in my head sometimes. I’m glad I’m not the only one. I like my 2000xj and I trust it but I also bite my fingernails when I need it to do something.
A set of 4.56 gears and a stroker kit for your 4.0L would help get you through the mountains.
Yes 4.56 is what I'm going with but passing on the stroker kit. Just going to ride the og motor till she lets go. Then either do a build out or swap out with something fancy.
Ls swap
@@ArturoHernandez-kl2up LoL everyone is doing that. I haven't decided but I'm looking at many options.
I've put so much into my xj and its still a pile of shit, I can't figure out why we love these old turds ha ha ah aha ha ha ahahaah aah ahha
Right!!!! But we still love the adventures we get from them
I was thinking that was awesome about the windshield... Then the way you said "it leaks... a lot". I cracked up laughing the way you said that but I felt your frustration.
Thanks. Thief just did the same to my uncle's truck
Having the same issue gonna try this this weekend hopefully it works. What kind of soap did you use?
Just a small amount of dawn dish soap. Just take yer time dont rush it I'm pullin for ya.🤞👍
@@nextweeksadventure What piece did you put the soap on? The seal that goes in the cap that comes out or on the seal that goes in on top?
@@adammunden4241 seal that goes up inside block.makes it easier to slide in
I was gonna do it today but now it’s not even leaking anymore 😂
@@adammunden4241 I'd call that a silent victory and just walk away slowly.🤣
Hello. Is there a torque setting for the pulley? And when you swapped the fittings for the high pressure line, do you have to add any sealant? If so what kind. Thank you
If it had a torque setting I didn't do it. I just tightened it on to how it looked when I took it apart. No I did not use any sealant on the fitting. So far no issues or leaks. Just make sure to watch the follow-up video. I used the wrong return hose which can lead to issues. I corrected it in the 2nd video.
@@nextweeksadventurethank you for the reply. I was reading on the forums about adding a barbed fitting. But on your video all you did was swap the high pressure hose fitting from the XJ pump and used the house and double clamped. Which your video is the route I want to go to
All these videos of people building these showers and hardly any of them show them being used. I wanna see them get filled, emtpied, the water pressure, how long of a shower does a 5 gal tank create?
I did make a follow-up video on this. Talked about pressure and length of shower. 2 people could easily use the 5gal of water. Just don't leave it running the entire time. th-cam.com/video/wPDexLSU6co/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k3wl36Yg_5xeXFqO
That’s funny each time I do an “update” on my Cherokee I tell my wife keep your phone close by cuz you never know!!
Dont know how i ended up subscribed to your channel but im here for it!! Lol keep it up!
7 to 9 wraps ???
These Jackery models use lithium ion batteries, vs the LiFePO4. Personally, I'd dump them both and get a Bluetti or look into building your own battery system.
Space and cost is why I haven't built my own system. At this point I'm committed to the Jackerys, but I will go a different route on future builds.
@@nextweeksadventure Same here. Unfortunately, I wasn't paying attention to the battery type of the 1000 I purchased earlier this year, so I'm in the same boat. Hopefully, by next summer I'll go with an onboard battery in my 4Runner or get a Bluetti.
The fitting you used for you spigot on the end cap, what is that called?
@@royalwulff1 its just a 1/4 turn water spigot. It screws into a electrical adaptor that is made for pvc and is watertight. I dont know the actual term the staff at home depot helped me with this part.
@@nextweeksadventure Awesome, thank you very much
The fitting you used for you spigot on the end cap, what is that called?
try turning on the light on the 1000 before shutting it off. I saw a video of a mystery with the generator light changing something with the power. Why not just see as an experiment? I have one as well so I'm curious about it. The guy I watched had some lights plugged into the generator and they were pulling some watts but when he turned on the generator light, it kept the lights that were plugged into it on but it stopped pulling watts from them. ( At least on the display.) He had no idea why so maybe you do?
I'll have to look into this. I've had mine glitch out something like this before. Display acts like its not powering or charging anything but it is. I've just adapted into using both of my Jackerys now so I guess it worked out.
One small step back, you'll look back on this and laugh. Good luck with build, love the color.
i feel that 100%
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I was about to send the part back until I saw this vid!
Thanks for sharing. Just bought a FJ Cruiser including this same tent. Only need to buy the cross bars to attach it to the roofrack.
Awesome!!! I absolutely love my Howling Moon even though it's not the most practical if your moving spots every day. New news unfortunately is Artemis Overland Hardware is no longer a supplier so you will need to shop overseas for parts or support. I was referred to Flatdoguk and they have been incredible.
A return fuel system will fix your heat soak problems
@@ridgewood2771 That is my plan. I found a company who is trying to make up a complete kit. Untill then this "fix" has actually worked better than expected. But I still don't like the look🤣🤷♂️
