Thanks for the videos. I also have a 96 XJ that I love. I think it one of the most capable and fun 4 wheelers I have ever owned because it is so reliable and easy to work on. I wish I had 5 of them.
Could be numerous things. Did you run an OBD scan for codes? If it is not electrical, check to see of the catalytic converter is plugged. Use a vacuum gauge to diagnose this or other problems.
Appreciate your help. I watched this just before setting to diagnose my 98 and you led me right to it in about 15 seconds, rubbed a hole under battery. Not a big leak, just enough to kill cruise control and retard the blend doors. Love these easy trucks.
Well I'll tell you what brother you made my day that's exactly what's wrong with 1995 Cherokee great work problem solved on my end thanks to you have a blessed day and good luck keep up the good work anything else I need to know let me know
Appreciate you taking time to make video. Have a question I have 99 laredo heat blows great but ac blows hard out of 1 vent others lightly any ideas as to why would be helpful
Greetings from Chile, could you help me with a problem, I have a Liberty KK 2.8 2008 diesel, the question is, can the CCV be repaired or should the entire cover be replaced?
@@superb60ce exactly. What is weird as I hear and see a lot of is a line is disconnected off the manifold. When I see a lot of other videos XJ have 3 lines associated to the manifold but mine for the most part only has like 1 which doesn’t make sense to me and confused me drastically.
I get a whistle off my throttle over 2500 rps doesnt start doing it on startup or idle just on throttle when i let off of of it. When i push on the throttle pedal it goes away . Is an over pressure in my system?
Great video I got air coming from defrost vent 24/7 and my cruise control does work.
Grand jeep cherokee 1995 limited 4.0 ZJ currently 68,000 miles
Thanks for sharing

Battery acid will not rot or cause a plastic vacuum line hole, more likely to be caused by vibration rubbing with loose vacuum line
More likely caused by a gorilla installing a battery...lol, valid observation
@@superb60ce yep you probably hit the nail on the head with that
So stuck on defrost and it’s low pressure but only really blow when I’m driving. And cruse working fine. Think the issue is in the dash??
Possibly
No clamps or tape needed to secure the splice in the vacuum line?
nope, little spit for lube, slipped right on and stayed tight

No clue
Can a cracked exhaust manifold screw up the vacuum system?
No, but it will screw up your oxygen sensor readings which will mess up fuel mixture
Greetings from Chile, could you help me with a problem, I have a Liberty KK 2.8 2008 diesel, the question is, can the CCV be repaired or should the entire cover be replaced?
I have no idea with the liberty
Hey! Great video going to check my lines but the code that was thrown today was P1494 on my 2000 XJ / CA Emissions. Any help would be appreciated.
P1494 is related to the leak detection pump....you are right to check the vacuum lines first

Can I use intake off 96 donor jeep cherokee on my 2001 jeep cherokee? Reason I ask is vacuum ports are in different places . Think I could reroute?
Yes you can
Could a collapsing vacuum line cause brake issues?
Short answer...probably not. What kind of brake issue
What size vacuum hose did u use I have the same issue
I don't remember the exact size, I had several different rolls in the shop, just used what fit.
Is there a difference from this to the 03 wj 4.0l system?
Unsure
If you own a 98 grand cherokee laredo you will find your vacuum reservoir attached to the underside of your battery tray.
Good to know

Clean the throttle body
I'm wondering if you have any ideas about where to look for the vacuum leak if my cruise does still work but I still cannot switch from defrost
If the cruise engages quickly and works properly, the the vacuum leak is most likely in your dash...good luck
Man I love the XJ's. Your xj is sharp. I am gonna try to find one come tax time.
I would love to fine another one, unmolested, with a 5speed
@@tryndoxme248 smoke test. Various ways to do it cigarette is the cheapest. Google it
Will a vacuum leak cause random stalling ?
Would need to be a big enough leak that the PCM cannot correct for the lean mixture
Hello Super B, I have a 2000 XJ with a stalling issue. It's throwing a vacuum leak check engine light. Where should I start first?
check all vacuum lines and connections
how did you find that leak? can these be found with a smoke test?
I found my leaks with a visual inspection of all the vacuum lines, however, a smoke test could be used as well
Where can I get the appropriate vacuum flex seal you used? I have a break in the very same area
generic vacuum tubing from any auto parts store
awesome
