- A quick newborn baby 101 guide to looking after a newborn. I share how to resolve all the major newborn dilemmas: colic, reflux, gas, eczema, eye infections in newborns, cradle cap and more.
Having a newborn baby can feel overwhelming, especially as a first time mom. I've learned a lot between both my babies and I experienced basically everything under the sun in terms of newborn baby issues. It was a lot on myself as a first time mom and I didn't see much from others about the things I was dealing with. I remember thinking, "Why does my baby cry so much? Is this normal?" It felt really isolating. I don't want anyone to go through that, so I'm here to share what I've learned through my experience in hopes that it can help you through any struggles you may be dealing with as first time parents.

After giving birth I had a wild panic, I forgot everything that I studied in preparatory courses, it seemed to me that any of my actions could harm my baby, but over time my anxiety has almost disappeared, so do not worry that you will not succeed, just in every action with the baby put love. And you will succeed.
I feel like i am going to be so emotional with everything!! He smiles, I'm going to weep, he cries, weep, breastfeeding, weeping, sleeping, I'm weeping lol.

Extra virgin olive oil is great for cradle cap...I used it for my daughter.shea butter works great for diaper rash
I'm going to remember your videos when I become a grandmother. It's been a long time since I cared for an infant. Reminded me how important a routine is for babies. Also reminded me that it all goes by so fast! The days/nights are long, but the weeks and months are so short! Very well done.

We learned to go outside in for all eye care, so running the cue tip towards the nose only. It is supposed to be better for preventing infections. Thanks for speaking so softly! Did not even wake up our newborn ❤

My mom had the exact same experience! I was 18 when my little brother was born, then another exactly one year later! Lol. I miss her. Wishing you many happy, blessed years with your babies.
It will be 16.5 years between baby #1 (now-16-year-old daughter) and baby #2 (32 weeks pregnant with my son!) for us! I, too, feel like I'm a 1st time mom all over again, as I've forgotten SO much, and there's sooooo much new info out there! ❤

I would be afraid to bite or peel off his fingernails but you're quite precise so that is good.
I like how thorough you are in these videos.
I also like how you challenge the ideas regarding swaddling with education as opposed to opinion.
They’re actually stickers that mama put on him😂 I know سبحان الله I feel as though he really has adapted to having a brother now though. I see it more and more every day. Trust me, peeling is much safer than cutting. Lots of parents accidentally cut their newborns while trimming their tiny nails. They’re VERY fragile in that aspect. I know people will disagree. There’s a group who may even dispute that it’s harmful. But it’s spoken about in depth on the AAP guidelines and it’s totally normal for babies to resist being swaddled. Thank you ☺️

Trust yourself 🤍 you’re going to be amazing. You are everything your baby wants and needs. You’ve got this 🥰 I know it can be so nerve wracking, but the most important lesson I’ve learned (and now I have 3 - 4 and under) is to simply trust myself. You will know your baby better than anyone. All the best lovely!
I am also due (first week) in may with my first child and it's been over 7 years since I cared for a newborn (helped raise my niece and nephews with my mother) so I did need a quick refresher. You will be fine and it may/will take some time so have patience. You may still get anxious/anxiety and that's okay, a lot of first time mommas get it so you aren't alone. Even though i wasnt a mom, I was still really anxious with my first born nephew when my mother wasnt around because I didnt know much being only 15 when he was born. It does get easier with time, I assure you and you'll know what to do. Just like coolbabymama said, trust yourself and you will gain confidence. I hope all goes well for you and your baby 🙏

This seems like a wonderful primer, and I needed it. Thank you. And thank you for addressing how weird the term 'colic' is. In common usage it eessentially means "excessive crying" which is a SYMPTOM, but the term colic is used almost as a diagnosis; it's absurd! How do you get to the bottom of a problem if you don't acknowledge how it comes to be? I almost never hear anyone pointing out how strange this is.

This is seriously so helpful, my due date is October 10th, 2022 and it's currently the end of May.. I'm half way through my pregnancy now... but I know that it's going to come by in a blink of an eye. I'm excited but also nervous because I feel like at first I'm not going to know what I'm doing. A lot of people told me that mother instincts kick in but part of the nervousness is because I have no idea of what to expect and it's not like they can communicate with you at all. It's also my first, I'm reading as much as I can and trying to learn as much as I can before baby boy arrives so it can put me at better ease. I also do have a great support system and should just probably trust that I am going to do just fine. But I feel like every fist time parent feels like this lol. Great advice! May I just add babywearing as it has been the real lifesaver especially with our second baby when he had colic and of course an easy way to get them to fall asleep
