Citroen Peugeot Adblue pump and module - stripdown

  • Some components and general overview. Not an educational video. It had a P20E2 Pressure of the urea fluid : Urea Pressure Too Low fault. I cannot find any more info on circuitry of the module. Usually (if pump not leaking onto module) it works again after bench testing the pump and solenoid. Strange thing...

    Notice the temp sensor inside the unstripable tank at 7:48 looks the same as the ambient temp sensor in the mirror :D

      do you know proper resistance for device measuring adblue level in tank ? thanks

    • @FixingVANS
      @FixingVANS  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@marks6809 It is a Hall effect type float sensor. So it should have 3 wires to it: 5v , ground, signal(0.4v-4.5v). It is not recommended to resistance check this type of sensor. If you are dealing with level problems on the same tank, try hitting it with rubber mallet from undeneath (after you drain the adblue) and refill. Worked for me.

    Many thanks for uploading this... I assume from your tests and the way the pump solenoid and level float operate even the heater that you deemed this unit serviceable and another fault was found ?
    I was looking for a nox flow test measurement

    I had the same problem p20e8 00 . First of check your a main battery on your car, if it to older (4-6 years) you should install new battery. After replacing a battery and a few kilometres lamp “urea and service” disappeared.

      Hello, are you sure about this ? How do you explain the link with pressure too low in error message ?

      The battery has nothing to do here. A faulty battery can cause some issues with various ECUs but will never cause an issue while engine running when voltage is around 14v everywhere along the electrical mesh

    Great job gentleman, manny thanks. On my Crossland X I connected pump with plus on top and minus down and the pump is turning revers I think because blow in tank not suck. Strange. On car don't have pressure.

      I'm not familiar with this model but it sounds like youve got polarity reversed. Simply swap your wires around. DC motors are usually bipolar(work both ways). Most of adblue systems are pumping fluid back into the tank to drain any fluid left in the lines to prevent freezing when you switch your engine off. You may have 2 pumps. One that pressurises lines and one that drains them.

    The over complication in all this just for a pump is horrendous, and here we are trying to save the planet, everyhting is over emgineered to the nth with of course the extra cost involved, not forgetting the adblue cost manufacture distribution etc......

    Good job! Are they fixable? My diagnostic is "urea low pressure" and the tester is showing 4 bar instead of 5+ needed.
    For trucks, the most common fault is split pump membrane

      Had the same problem today. Hooked up my scanner and I also showed 4 bar and then jumped up to 5.5 bar and started working. Possibly pump going bad?

    I had the same error message than you: "P20E Pressure of the urea fluid : Urea Pressure Too Low fault".
    Today I have tried to replace module with pump, solenoid... but I kept the old electronic board.
    I have reset defaults and made 30km without error message.
    I suspect the pressure sensor or the pressure valve to be broken-down.
    On default message, pressure was 4 bars and 6,656 bars on a second message.
    I will check the pressure on new module that seems to work properly and give you information.
    Anyone know what is expected pressure ?

      4 bar is minimum sender value, that is why it gives 4 bar, but there is no pressure at all. Minumum should be around 6.5 bar. I think that Driver mosfets for the pump start to be deffective and thats is why pump fails to operate. I have replaced my AD blue tank , took old one with me...and investigated all components, solenoids, heaters, pressure sensors...all working fine. Just these mosfets were suspicious so i have replaced all four of them. Tank works again with no problem.

    • @Fla38600
      @Fla38600 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@MrLukas2411For my information, how did you identify that Mosfets were in defect ? Did you made some measurements ? Or it was an hypothesis ?

    • @MrLukas2411
      @MrLukas2411 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@Fla38600 There are 4 square mosfets under pressure accumulator that i found . two of them were defective, just shorted. Another problem with the tank is that it is a system of many sensors and heaters as well as electronics....If one of sensors or heaters becomes defective, Whole tank will go offline and there is Your message...urea pressure too low. So as well, there can be a problem in a heater or pressure sensor. During tank boot after starting engine, tank system verifies all components so if one of them is not responding, tank goes to off line mode. Mine was 95% mosfet problem cause i have measured all senders and heaters and they were ok in values...check them per specification. So....what else to say than GOOD LUCK!!!

    Does anyone can help me where to put the 12v on to let the pump run? Want to connect it to a battery to clean the pump itself... was quite hard to figure it out with the video. But anyway, awesome video!

    Do you know the resistor value of temp sensors @25°C for exemple ?
    On mine I have measured :
    10 kOhms between two yellow wires (heating resistor temp sensor).
    3 kOhms between two blue wires (liquid temp sensor).

      los cables azules tienen que darte 3,3 KOhms y los amarillos 10 Kohms , a mi me dana 300 Ohms y le puse una resistencia de 10Kohms para simular 25º C y anular este termistor.

    • @FixingVANS
      @FixingVANS  หลายเดือนก่อน

      It should be dry in there. That indicates pump itself leaking. It will eventually flood the circuit board and mess it up.
