- Meet the Shmiggen. Its the plane i'm designing for you here on youtube. Check my design series on this chunky little dude. Shmiggen is a fully 3d printed jet with a Qx 50mm and a 1300 4s lipo. I suggest you pick this motor up if you want to print this soon. Its probably the best jet ive designed yet. I'll put this plane against anything on earth. it almost defies physics and its shaped like a cartoon lol.

I've got to build this! Been out of the hobby for about 25 years and the only jet experience I have was a MIG-29, OS .91 and I can't remember if it was a 5" Dynamax or a 6" Byron fan. Yes I'm old :-) That jet was short lived. This thing looks like a blast!!! Can't wait for the files to be released!
Nice!!! Welcome back to the hobby!!!
@@hotlapkyle Thanks! I was just looking up the motor & fan and there's several different ones What KV motor are you running?
I’m glad I made the suggestion, it’s great to see it fly this way!
Mr Frits you get it free!!!! Obviously. Have we exchanged emails yet? If not email me builtfastkyle@gmail
@@hotlapkyle Thanks, I enjoy your work very much and like to support it! No need for a discount, I’ll gladly buy it when published 👍
@@akaFrits1 that’s very nice of you. It was your cartoon photo that inspired me though 👍🏻👍🏻
A nice U2 would be cool! Maybe a version of this with sreranle canards too!
Damn you Kyle ... How much more of my hobby budget are you going to 'steal' with these fantastic little designs. Ordering motor and filament later today, design when you release it :)
I know I’m sorry!!! Lol trust me I spend everything I make off these to fund the new builds/ filament /etc. at least the files are cheap! Lol
Woooooww what a great little plane and flight absolut awesome💯👌......big thumbs up👍👍
INSANE!!! They just keep getting better! Cant wait for the part 3! What electronics do you recommend and setup wise how hard is it to tune them? Your making it hard for ne to choose which one to get lol!
For the Shmiggen JR. 100% QX 50mm 4600 4s and a 4s 1300 is theeeee best. You see how slow this flew. Any 9g metal gear servos. Only 2
wow, the prices are very reasonable for your designs... Thank You!!!
I mean this in a positive way. Your excitement laugh is so fun to hear because it is obviously genuine. I purchased your YF23 today and I don’t yet have a printer to print it on. I expect to download more when I finally get a printer. Still waiting on the Bambu A1 to come back.
Wow thanks!!
That is a fantastic plane. Now I wish i had a 3D printer.
What a cool little plane !!!
Love it ordered the motor. Looking to buy the file once up. Ordered filament today. Tweaking my Bambo Labs printer. You are killing me to build these. Thank you so much.
Thanks!! It’s worth the time getting setup to print LW pla. It’s definitely the future of rc flight!
I’d love to build one of these! I look forward to your upload. Thx 🎉
Have the grippen and the mini delta both waiting to maiden. I needed this. All three planes should be printed with one roll of lw-pla polylight. Thanks for all the exciting designs.
Thanks!!! Much appreciated! All three of your choices are the top 3 designs I’ve made IMO. Very good choices
OK, I probably have to pause the YF 23 print as soon as the files are out and print the shmiggen as 70mm 😂
I’m already scaling it to 64 freewing scale!!
That one is awesome. Where will the build be available when ready?
I’ll post a link in the description when it’s ready 👍🏻
Impressive.
Oh maaan. I gotta get this one too. High alpha with a cartoon airframe is just unreal 😂😂😂
Thank you!!!! i'm going to reccomend this be everyones first and "go to" plane you always bring to the field. Its by far the best all arounder. flies like its stabilized. thanks again!
I bet with a flight controller and a rudder you can fly it around the inside of your living room. lol. You can then add a yaw damper, too. I want like 20 of these so we can buzz the old timers that kick us off the field to fly their big gassers. lol
Hahaha!! I actually want someone to try it in a gymnasium! I love the “buzz the old timers idea 😂”
So eager to want to purchase some of your designs and give them a shot. Was just hoping you could soon do a general video on standard profile settings on your printer setup and orientation layout, infill, support preferences on parts etc, just to hopefully aide some of us new to printing plane parts and point us in the right direction. I understand a lot depends on type of printer and a bit of trial and error per say but knowing how frustrating this hobby just flying alone, a lot of wasted time on materials and failed prints might not all be worth while for some. I just think a lot of your viewers and sales benefit from such insight and tutorials in this area to make the experience hopefully more pleasant overall. Another great design and I can’t wait to print it correctly someday.
Great idea! Tonight after work ill walk through the process!
Thank you so much for your understanding and support. I love combining hobby stuff resources and equipment that interests me to continue the overall enjoyment of the process. Truthfully I would even purchase a solid straight forward printing profile from you alone with your designs if it meant I could remotely save time, effort and money overall from any unsuccessful frustrations from the start 😉 thank again for keeping the hobby interesting 👍
Hey kyle i finally got my ender 3 working again and im printing the viggen then i will print the pockst rocket! I also can't wait untill i can get twin 50s so i can get your yf23!
Great news!!! dude. think twice about the YF23, it should really have a flight controller and unless your super experieced it will need to be thrown by someone else. its probably the hardest to fly of all my designs. its the coolest but id wait until you have a large field and someone to throw it. also def a gyro
@@hotlapkyle good news man. I have my dad who also flies these planes and I have a gyro from the f16 I used to own I've gotten better. I have my uncle's land that's 36 achers so it's looking up! I'm currently calibrating my new printer head
@@hotlapkyle I'll take your advice though and probably make either a 64 or 50 j10 because i love the way she looks. If you have advice of which one I should do I'll happily take it. Also maybe I may scale it to a 70 so I can use my spare 80 amp esc
When will the file be available for purchase?
Classic example of "With enough power a brick can fly".
I still like the 'Mini-delta' best, Givin that I'd clean up the fuselage in front of the fan
Wouldn’t you say the opposite? It flies slower than most planes and it has relatively small wings
@@hotlapkyle Nope, the appearance of the Mini-Delta just really appeals to me.
Your channel just popped up in my feed and I liked it....
So thinking I'd like to get into flying planes like this (I flew RC 25 years ago then got out of it) then seeing the reply to the question about what you were printing on I pulled the trigger on getting into 3D printing with a Bambu X1 Carbon and AMS package, shipping soon.
I've been wondering about 3D for years and have multiple things I want to do with it. I've even had some stuff designed and printed before at prices that caused me to think I ought to go DIY, but kept hesitating.... Now I'm not haha
@@bobjoatmon1993 would this be your first printer? If your on a budget I would recommend ender 3 v2 with a cr touch but if you can shell out a bit of cash get the x1c carbon or other like it as the p1p or p1s
@@aidenkahn4338 yup, it's my first printer.
I have this philosophy, don't stick a toe in by buying something that has a steep learning curve because everything has to be modified just to get it to work, then you upgrade to the next level device, then upgrade and upgrade and finally get to a quality device.... Meanwhile instead of DOING you've been struggling to make the series of cheap devices work and in the long run spent a lot of money in total.
Instead, if I decide to do something I spend the extra to get quality so I can get right into doing whatever it's for. AND, the quality device usually is built to last longer, again saving money over replacing cheap ones multiple times.
I'll give you an example, 6 years ago I bought a contractor grade weedeater for $280, my neighbors have bought $90 ones from Walmart or Home Depot and they last about a year (how do I know this, they keep coming over and borrowing mine when their latest fails until they replace theirs again)... Mines already paid for itself multiple times.
I did the same when I built my machine shop and my machines and tooling just work and last.
Yes, I could have bought a $200 printer then spent a lot of time babying it to get it to work, but my time is valuable and limited on earth, not something to waste.
I have ordered the X1-Carbon and 4 rolls of each material (and support material) to play / experiment with (like I mentioned earlier, I really do have quite a bit to print now I've getting the capability to, then I'll get back into flying again so that's just icing on the cake
FYI - got the print file for the Mini-delta downloaded & ordered the fan and ESC from the Amazon link.
Printing the YF-23 right now
Awesome!
Do you use Overture Air filament? 0.4 nozzle? Just wondering
.20 and only active foaming LW pla from 3d lab print or color fabb
That thing LOLs @ gravity! How do you do it?
😂 careful design on the wings and fuselage
What do you mean no flight controller? Is that a free flight.
Meaning no gyro. Just me controlling it 100% most planes have flight controllers that keep it stable
It's cute
What is your setup? I just got my hands on a 3D printer and would love to try this one out!
Setup for printing or the electronics?

@@hotlapkyle Electronics please.
Cool .
When will this be available for download?!
Possibly tonight maybe tomorrow
Pretty cool. What does she weigh???
Must be between 6-700 g with the great thrust. I’ll weigh it
I love it but I think I would crash it
You gotta 30mm it like the other one you shrunk down
I might!
THAT THING IS A HIGH ALPHA MONSTER!!!!!!
Thanks man! I need to get your email so I can email you this. I want to see you fly the fatty Viggen Shmiggen! If you want a pre release email me builtfastkyle@gmail
