That's why I haven't used Deans in 20 years. As they age, they oxidize and resistance goes way up. They're also prone to just getting dirty. Don't use Deans. The plane looks good! It's very stable.
Haha it’s funny, I keep forgetting because I have to tie up my iPad for an hour straight keeping the screen from turning off while the huge files upload. I’ll try it. This morning 👍🏻
It landed so well for that it wasn't controlled. It works and flyes super nicely and for the hand launch maybe put those dimples in the bottom as you've done with other planes in the past? Cheers 👍💪✌
Amazingly it didn't tumble after the power outage. It's really just bonkers how it managed to stay "upright" with a slight glide for a soft enough touchdown. A90 is just big, one bad toss and it's toast. I'd still go after some type of gear, even if it's not retracts. Great video, awesome that it flies well. AirHammer out!!
I started RC in the late 80s and I have never seen a plane lose power and RC control and land like better than you could have if you were actually trying to land it yourself! That was awesome plus that thing flies freaking great
Make sure that the Canards are at least 1 or 2 degrees down. Neutral will fly but slight down angle on the canards will stabilize it like you won't believe and the CG will still be the same.
Just answered a question for me thank you.. . I bought a 90mm mirage second hand and the previous owner has used 10a house wiring between the EDF and the ESC. I was wondering if it would matter if those wires got a little hot 😅
You need to make a DIY PVC pipe bungee launcher for your EDFs. I built one for 30 dollars that breaks down and fits into a small duffel bag or even a grocery bag. Plenty of Videos on TH-cam or RC groups on how to make one step by step all from homedepot or Lowes parts. You can focus on the controls with both hands. Worth every penny as have never had a bad launch ever since. (Knock on wood, lol) But I do see you finally invested in an autopilot that works on prayer for brownout emergency landings. So crazy, lol.
I think 80 and up would be good candidates for some landing gear just because of how awkward they are to hand launch but my god!! You must have been a quarterback cuz you THREW that mf good! She looks amazing in the air
Deans is an older type of plug and the only reason tonot forget about them is remembering to avoid them. The male ones are a dark red plastic piece with two metal prongst sticking out, one horizontal, one vertical, also known as "T connector".
That was better than most of my controlled landings...

Reminder of Part 3 of the design smiggen lol just can't wait!

@@hotlapkyle sweet! Thanks! Just got the Nx8 on order.

That is one gentle giant

Haha thanks! I can say I pretty much nailed the CG!! 😂 and it’s got really nice flight characteristics if I don’t day so myself
@@hotlapkyle yes indeed brother good job
You were really lucky when you landed 🛬without any control......thumbs up👍👍
Dude I love your vids. Good planes and good vibes👍👍😊

That landing? The pilot survived without injury. Wow!
Haha right
super stable! great job!!!
That would be cool with retracts!
XT90 for the 90mm edf with 10-12 gauges wire for the win..
I have since switch from Dean to HXT 60 or 90. Dean goes high resistance over use. Lost my drone due to poor dean connectors.

Lucky break on the power loss situation. It looks like a fun plane. I need to print a couple parts for my J10 50 and give it another shot.
"its not gon crash. i mean it crashed" kyle hahaha
man what an insane build
Haha!

Great flyer! Did you just scale it up from the 64mm version?
Yup!
Good build, and flight, glad it did the auto pilot, did fly well.
Definitely couldn't get much better landing with no control. Well done mate
Perfect trim and CG! 😂
Thrust vectored version when?
Next project going to be a launching catapult
DAM lucky

I was the QB in High school lol but anyone can throw this bird. She flew alway great
@@hotlapkyle I believe it. Biggest plane I’ve hand launched was my twin 50 su27 and that almost ended in disaster lol I’m still a noob though
Holy auto-pilot landing. That thing is a beast. Wow!
It practically landed itself.
show the build Mister
I wonder, when you are sleeping? 😁
J10C loves high alfa. I have foam version.
Very nice- and very lucky! Where are you getting the printer files from?
I designed all of them. 👍🏻
Wowwow shes pretty 😍🤩 new fav?
DAAYYYUUUMMM BOIIII HE THICCCCC😂
No more fiberglass.
Use Carbon fiber!
Did you just up scale the files you have in cults3d? I would love to print it for a 90mm edf I have.
Yes sir. Just scaled it
XT90 to Deans xD What could go wrong :D
Haha 😂
Sorry for my question (German) : What is a dean ?

Yeah old style connectors that don’t take more than 80 amps very well. I was sending 130
lw pla?
Yup
