Indeed yeah there’s one or two odd gimmicks that I can’t ignore but their minor and don’t effect my enjoyment of the overall experience. This was an awesome game in its own right and I’m glad it’s part of the xenobladr series.
I find Xenoblade 2 is either someone's favourite game in the trilogy or their least favourite and it tends to be by a fairly wide margin either way. I've yet to see anyone that has it in the middle of their rankings.

Mitsuda said that he cried at the end of his work for Xeno 2 after listening to everything….I know now that it had to be from this song. You don’t even need to see the ending cutscene or know anything about the story, its just that kind of song.

Five years, huh. It hasn’t felt nearly that long, but it feels that impactful. My life has changed a lot since my first play through, but my love has only grown. Thanks Takahashi and all the folks at Monolith for making this series that’s so close to my heart.
This song came across my shuffle mix after listening to a lot of Xenoblade 3 music and stuff from the other two cuz I was really feeling it at the time. So it's only when I was reliving the whole game's story and characters in my head while this played and started crying did I really realise how much I love this game and these characters.
Same bro, it will sound like a cliche, but Xenoblade Chronicles 2 changed my life in multiple ways. Almost like Three Houses. Both of them are games that left a great impact in my life and helped me through dark years. I'm really grateful for all the people who worked in them.
I'd like to think she said those very words herself, showing she agreed with Malos and his consensus that the lives they lived, while not great by any means, were far from the worst. Rex and the others were a bright spot for both of them.

I just honestly love the line for its implications. As far as anyone else can see Rex is either blindly muttering, suddenly seeing jin as Pyra/Mythra, or he has just completely gone, eyes glazed over, arguing with the two. I love it so much.
I personally feel that this is the most powerful song in the game. The emotion felt as Rex pleads with the girl he loves, while to the rest of the party sounding like he's finally snapped. The theme really extrapolates the emotion being felt by the characters into making you feel them, and while other songs such as drifting soul and one last you do this debatably better, I'd argue that the lack of lyrics work in this song's favor, hearing Rex's desperate, yet confident pleas in chapter 7 or Pneuma's beautiful reminisce in chapter 10, this song does so much right and when I think of this game, this song is the first thing I think of, or more accurately, what it represents.

It would have been so much more powerful if they put the two of them in a romantic situation instead of skirting around it like every Japanese production does. If we see the evidence of their love, the ending would have been exponentially more powerful
The ending to this absolute master art piece made me cry harder than I can ever remember. XC got me a bit choked up but XC2 literally broke me. This piece of music is forever ingrained into my memory. Best game of all time.

KinglyRed I feel pretty certain Mythra fell in love with him right then. Either that or he reminded her of Addam so much she couldn't help but think that Rex _was_ him, if for moment. That Addam's will and spirit lived on, and through him. And I wonder in hindsight, if Addam sealed part of himself in the sword (or where the sword was kept) and that's why he appeared to Rex when he did. Elysium is equated to heaven, and he said he "had never been to this place". By breaking the aged sword, Rex broke the seal, Addam's spirit could finally move on and rest in peace. Since the sword that Addam himself could not control broke, as the new driver Rex was able to finally restore it to what it was meant to be. It might have looked different before because the third sword was more like an imperfect hybrid; a shell of what it wanted to be, but couldn't. Couldn't because it was formed in an unbalanced way, perhaps. I believe the suit that Pnuema bestows on Rex helps regulate that power on top of him unlocking his ability as the Master Driver.
Props to Rex for keeping up with Jin even after he froze the Ether, leaving Nia's scimitar as little more than a powerless stick. And convincing Pyra to not die at the same time.
That part always confused me as he never even tries to do anything but swing the sword when Rex would have been open for any other move, it’s like he tried to not harm him
@@renren8296 Jin probably fell prey to the common villain (and anti-villain) disorder where they gloat and go easy on the good guys as long as they can, meaning way longer than they can afford. He was charging up some killer move at the end, but then Pyra/Mythra stopped time to pull Rex into a plot-intensive vision.
No matter how many times I listen to this song, I feel like I'm going to cry like the biggest baby ever. These last cutscences gosh dang played with my emotions...
There are no words possible to describe how masterfully executed and composed this track was. Even a Xenoblade hater, or a Xenoblade 2 hater, has to admit this is good at the least. The true effect takes place when you've actually played the game.
It‘s hard to put into words what this Track makes me feel. It has such a hopeful nature which not only fits the Game itself, but the entire series, honestly. The Xeno Series went trough so much. From Final Fantasy 7, to it‘s own Franchise. It went trough so many hurdles and companies. But thanks to Nintendo, Monolith Soft was finally able to fully realize their vision and create the Games they wanted without any big time or money constraints. And now, they finally get the attention and respect they deserve. And the Xeno series is finally seen as a big part of the JRPG Genre. What a great Track and what a great series!
I've done some thinking and I believe this has to be the greatest piece of music ever written for a video game. It's so, unbelievably good. Absolute perfection.
Hearing about Chuggaconroy's story about his dying relative, and how he used this music to cope with the loss makes this hit even harder. (He talks about it in ep 131 of his lets play)
The theme song of me being unable to see through my tears. That very end, when she sacrificed herself absolutely destroys me. Even going through the second time, knowing that it will be all right in the end, makes me sob. I love these trinity processing cores.
This song is so emotionally impactful. Especially (spoilers btw) when you realize that it plays before the beginning of Pneuma's life and at the end of it too. Everything came full circle.

Then she sleeps for 500 years, and meet Rex, but she is with Rex for just a few months. So It doesn't really make that much sense. And its kinda sad that she said: "But it's been warmer and brighter... than any time I can remember before." When she obviously very much liked Adam (same reason she likes Rex).

I know what she means by that, but now that I think about it. She spent a bit over a year with Adam and Milton, and it could've been a year at most with Rex. So yeah she's over 500 years old, but those 500 years were spent asleep. leaving about 1-2 years of actual consciousness, meaning about half of her whole "Life" so far was with Rex
This is unironically, my favorite song out of any Xenoblade game. After beating all the games in a row, with 2 months of total progress, I am deep into post-game depression. I can't get this series out of my head, every waking moment, every dream, every time I doze off, I always think about Xenoblade. It has impacted me more than any other piece of media ever has before, and that is something I don't say lightly, as I have over 300 really good games beaten, so I've seen almost everything there is to see in the world of videogames, and it's been that way for a pretty long time. But yet, out of all of those games, this series has made me the happiest, the saddest, and the most nostalgic I've ever felt at any point in my short 12 year gaming history. No matter how many people shit on this game, no matter how many dunkey's exist in the world, frankly I pity them; they will NEVER get to feel what I've felt and am feeling. I usually only cry once a year at most, but each Xenoblade has brought me to earthshattering levels of sadness at least once. Thank you, from the absolute bottom of my heart, not only Monolithsoft for making these games, but the active fanbase that won't let this gem of a game die.

I play videogames since 5yo, I couldn’t even read and I played Pokémon on game boy, I finished and tried countless of games and I decided this fall to play xenoblade for the first time. I can’t believe myself, I can’t believe it, it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. It’s like they shaped this game for me to be exactly inserted in my heart like the final piece of a puzzle. I can’t believe how weak I am to be played like this by a jrpg… But this feeling… I hope everyone in the world can feel it one day, to find your game.
I couldn't agree more. I played this game when I was in a very dark place, I was just 11 and the years of trauma of living in a terrible home had just hit me all at once. I became a depressed, nervous wreck, and this game was my only comfort through all those lonely days and nights. I am more than thankful for it existing because I don't think I'd be here without it. It taught me that even if the world has promised you nothing but despair, there is always a place for you somewhere in this world. And that meant everything and still does to a girl who's felt like an orphan all her life.
You can pick out a Mitsuda track so easily. Not saying ACE and the other composers are bad, I love them and they're some of my favorites, but Mitsuda is on another level. He captures the emotion of whatever is going on in game so well, and most times introduces new emotion that you may not have felt at all for that moment.
The question is, could anyone say that translation better while sticking with the animation of the cutscene? I'd say it's a flaw of the Japanese line not having an accurate English translation that's only 2 syllables long.
This is the kind of song I would play in my head at any big event in my life: Graduation, Telling someone I love them, Marriage... I hope I get to play this at my wedding. :)
It's only been a few weeks since I first completed this game, and strangely enough, I agree. I only really cried at it once, but teary eyed? oh man, haha yeah.
No game has ever impacted and stuck with me like this game has. Everytime I hear the music from the game... The memories come flooding back. Those were such times... I played xenoblade 1 after this game and while that is also a fantastic game and I love it, it just didn't impact me in the same way this game did. I love you XBC2. you changed my life.
Can everyone just appreciate the ridiculously good bass that goes on in the background? Never noticed it in game due to playing on handheld mode all the time, but toss some good headphones on good lord it's amazing.
Recently rewatching the final cutscene after they defeat Malos, I didn't remember that the moment when Pneuma says to Rex: "You'll be fine... Without me now" could hit so strong, how she says it almost crying is so heartbreaking :'(
I just replayed all the games back to back. And 2 has the perfect mix. Great combat system (Later in the game), Amazing music, Fantastical locations with plenty of eye candy, and a great story. Although I love the OG Xenoblade this one still tands to be my fave. Even with the oddities it brings.
This game is the best game ive ever played there has been games that have made me cry but not as much as this. Xenoblade 2 is a game i never get tired of ive replayed it twice and everything still sticks to me the characters, the music, the story, even the places in the game 10/10 game its the best thing that ive ever played and theres been so many times while playing that ive felt like i was there and felt like i could do anything.....i love this game so much and i wish i really wish it gets more love thank you so much for making this game its changed my life so much :,)
I love this game a lot too! My most favourite game. The music, atmosphere, plot, story and even romance is amazing. I had a tough year last year 2020 and it’s the first time I played XC2, fell in love with the story and felt that my life is not as bad as I feel it is. This game motivated me to be better and improve on myself in other ways.
I already cried in this scene, but you know what wouldve made me cry even more is if they added flashbacks of all the adventures and moments they had. that really would hit me hard. overall beautiful ending to a beautiful story.

The ending to this absolute master art piece made me cry harder than I can ever remember. XC got me a bit choked up but XC2 literally broke me. This piece of music is forever ingrained into my memory. Best game of all time.

KinglyRed I feel pretty certain Mythra fell in love with him right then. Either that or he reminded her of Addam so much she couldn't help but think that Rex _was_ him, if for moment. That Addam's will and spirit lived on, and through him.
And I wonder in hindsight, if Addam sealed part of himself in the sword (or where the sword was kept) and that's why he appeared to Rex when he did. Elysium is equated to heaven, and he said he "had never been to this place". By breaking the aged sword, Rex broke the seal, Addam's spirit could finally move on and rest in peace. Since the sword that Addam himself could not control broke, as the new driver Rex was able to finally restore it to what it was meant to be. It might have looked different before because the third sword was more like an imperfect hybrid; a shell of what it wanted to be, but couldn't. Couldn't because it was formed in an unbalanced way, perhaps. I believe the suit that Pnuema bestows on Rex helps regulate that power on top of him unlocking his ability as the Master Driver.

Props to Rex for keeping up with Jin even after he froze the Ether, leaving Nia's scimitar as little more than a powerless stick. And convincing Pyra to not die at the same time.
That part always confused me as he never even tries to do anything but swing the sword when Rex would have been open for any other move, it’s like he tried to not harm him
@@renren8296 Jin probably fell prey to the common villain (and anti-villain) disorder where they gloat and go easy on the good guys as long as they can, meaning way longer than they can afford. He was charging up some killer move at the end, but then Pyra/Mythra stopped time to pull Rex into a plot-intensive vision.
@@iancomtois9832 It's mentioned in one of the later chapters that he did have faith in Rex (wasn't entirely dead-set on killing Rex at that point).
Jins resolve become unclear when Rex says" He knows the true meaning of a Blade & Driver"
I know im late but Jin was probably not set on killing Rex as he put a glimpse of faint hope in him or maybe he didn’t want to kill him like with Nia.

There are no words possible to describe how masterfully executed and composed this track was. Even a Xenoblade hater, or a Xenoblade 2 hater, has to admit this is good at the least. The true effect takes place when you've actually played the game.
It‘s hard to put into words what this Track makes me feel. It has such a hopeful nature which not only fits the Game itself, but the entire series, honestly.
The Xeno Series went trough so much. From Final Fantasy 7, to it‘s own Franchise. It went trough so many hurdles and companies. But thanks to Nintendo, Monolith Soft was finally able to fully realize their vision and create the Games they wanted without any big time or money constraints.
And now, they finally get the attention and respect they deserve. And the Xeno series is finally seen as a big part of the JRPG Genre.

This song is so emotionally impactful. Especially (spoilers btw)

I dont really get this, as Mythra was first resonated with by Adam and she probably was awake for a maximum of like 10+ years or something. Then she sleeps for 500 years, and meet Rex, but she is with Rex for just a few months. So It doesn't really make that much sense. And its kinda sad that she said: "But it's been warmer and brighter... than any time I can remember before." When she obviously very much liked Adam (same reason she likes Rex).

@@Softlol if you played Torna, it is told that Addam only awakened Mythra a year before the events of Torna: The Golden Country. At the end of T:TGC, Addam sealed Pyra/Mythra away in a big ship and sunk it down the could sea. So the maximum time Pyra/Mythra was actually awake was less than 2 years and only around 2 months with Rex...
They probably spent A LOT of time in the dream elysuim world of being alone which would make sense I think.

I know what she means by that, but now that I think about it. She spent a bit over a year with Adam and Milton, and it could've been a year at most with Rex.
So yeah she's over 500 years old, but those 500 years were spent asleep. leaving about 1-2 years of actual consciousness, meaning about half of her whole "Life" so far was with Rex
This is unironically, my favorite song out of any Xenoblade game.
After beating all the games in a row, with 2 months of total progress, I am deep into post-game depression. I can't get this series out of my head, every waking moment, every dream, every time I doze off, I always think about Xenoblade. It has impacted me more than any other piece of media ever has before, and that is something I don't say lightly, as I have over 300 really good games beaten, so I've seen almost everything there is to see in the world of videogames, and it's been that way for a pretty long time. But yet, out of all of those games, this series has made me the happiest, the saddest, and the most nostalgic I've ever felt at any point in my short 12 year gaming history. No matter how many people shit on this game, no matter how many dunkey's exist in the world, frankly I pity them; they will NEVER get to feel what I've felt and am feeling. I usually only cry once a year at most, but each Xenoblade has brought me to earthshattering levels of sadness at least once.
Thank you, from the absolute bottom of my heart, not only Monolithsoft for making these games, but the active fanbase that won't let this gem of a game die.

I play videogames since 5yo, I couldn’t even read and I played Pokémon on game boy, I finished and tried countless of games and I decided this fall to play xenoblade for the first time. I can’t believe myself, I can’t believe it, it’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. It’s like they shaped this game for me to be exactly inserted in my heart like the final piece of a puzzle. I can’t believe how weak I am to be played like this by a jrpg… But this feeling… I hope everyone in the world can feel it one day, to find your game.

I couldn't agree more. I played this game when I was in a very dark place, I was just 11 and the years of trauma of living in a terrible home had just hit me all at once. I became a depressed, nervous wreck, and this game was my only comfort through all those lonely days and nights. I am more than thankful for it existing because I don't think I'd be here without it. It taught me that even if the world has promised you nothing but despair, there is always a place for you somewhere in this world. And that meant everything and still does to a girl who's felt like an orphan all her life.

This is the kind of song you listen to whenever a character or group are losing but get empowered to give it their last struggle. And it’s beautiful.
You can pick out a Mitsuda track so easily. Not saying ACE and the other composers are bad, I love them and they're some of my favorites, but Mitsuda is on another level. He captures the emotion of whatever is going on in game so well, and most times introduces new emotion that you may not have felt at all for that moment.

I played xenoblade 1 after this game and while that is also a fantastic game and I love it, it just didn't impact me in the same way this game did. I love you XBC2. you changed my life.

Can everyone just appreciate the ridiculously good bass that goes on in the background? Never noticed it in game due to playing on handheld mode all the time, but toss some good headphones on good lord it's amazing.
Recently rewatching the final cutscene after they defeat Malos, I didn't remember that the moment when Pneuma says to Rex: "You'll be fine... Without me now" could hit so strong, how she says it almost crying is so heartbreaking :'(

I just replayed all the games back to back. And 2 has the perfect mix. Great combat system (Later in the game), Amazing music, Fantastical locations with plenty of eye candy, and a great story. Although I love the OG Xenoblade this one still tands to be my fave. Even with the oddities it brings.

there has been games that have made me cry but not as much as this. Xenoblade 2 is a game i never get tired of ive replayed it twice and everything still sticks to me the characters, the music, the story, even the places in the game

I love this game a lot too! My most favourite game. The music, atmosphere, plot, story and even romance is amazing. I had a tough year last year 2020 and it’s the first time I played XC2, fell in love with the story and felt that my life is not as bad as I feel it is. This game motivated me to be better and improve on myself in other ways.
When the drums come in OH MY GOD
I made it through all of Xenoblade 2 without tearing up and then this scene absolutely broke me. I'm talking audible sobbing. GG Xenoblade writers.
I already cried in this scene, but you know what wouldve made me cry even more is if they added flashbacks of all the adventures and moments they had. that really would hit me hard. overall beautiful ending to a beautiful story.
