I recently started the series, thanks to my husband's (strong) suggestion! It's his all-time favorite series, and now I really see why. I ran 300+ hours on Xenoblade 2 😅💕 absolutely love this game
No game has ever had a lasting impact like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has I absolutely love this game, the characters, the story, the music, all of it Truly holds a different place in my heart them other games do
Same. Every once in a while this game will pop up in my head and I'll just think about everything that happened. It makes me sad each time, I wish i could experience it for the first time again
I've played more than 100 rpg (of different genres and platforms) and XC2 is "the special one"; sadly I think that I will never play again something like this masterpiece.
This game absolutely spoiled me. It changed how I view games as a whole, and it got me into RPG's. But I will always return to XC2 for three reasons: Rex (and the rest of the cast) is incredible, the music is the best and most consistently amazing I've ever heard, and I can't get enough of the combat (even if I suck at it).

@@JuicyJuro The blade system was so innovative, it was confusing at first but I literally couldn't have asked for a better battling system by the end of the game
I am literally trying not to cry right now because I remember the times I played this game. I want to thank my dad for getting me this game. This was the first game of the series I got. Playing this was truly fun, but looking back I want to forget that this game even existed and have all this happen again.
You wrote your comment 6 months before I wrote these lines. The Definitive Edition of the first Xenoblade Chronicles game has since been announced for the Switch a few months ago. Even if it's impossible for you to forget your adventure on XC2, I can swear that XC1 will get you through its rollercoaster as far as XC2. You HAVE to play it and I'm quite sure you'll love it!

@@robertomacetti7069 I remember when I got to the ending of XC2 and beat it at like 6 am. I wasn’t going to give up until I beat the final boss and that ending really made me cry. I decided to try XC2 because of Pyra and Mythra’s inclusion in Smash. I really enjoyed the game despite its flaws, especially that Amalthus boss fight. I was so thrilled that I beat him finally and that really made me hate him as a character and was glad that he died but I’m getting sidetracked. It was a very fun game and I fell in love with each character throughout the story. If and when I see Pyra and Mythra return in XC3 DLC, I’m going to cry

What a game. This is the first game I've ever played to make me feel so many emotions at once. Triumph at finally finishing an 80 hour journey that took place over 11 months of owning my switch (it was my first game). Sadness about Pneuma, and the fact I just beat the last game Etika ever completed. Happiness for Rex and co., as well as my own to finally see the end of such an amazing game. Pride in a company and series I've come to love. I was both sobbing and even crying tears of joy at the end of this beautiful game. I've never cried tears of joy before and it was such a surreal moment to watch those credits roll, and then see that core crystal start glowing again. It had me cheering, and then going to that new title screen where I just sat that for a moment, remembering the 11-month journey I've taken. This is my favorite game in the series, on the switch, and of all time.
Camera pans from Mythra to Pyra Pyra; “I love you, Rex” Rex steps forward, the happiest expression ever on his face. Chapter 10: and thus, boy met girl. My perfect ending.

Every time I hear the credits for this game I immediately think of Etikas Livestream of this game and his reaction of the ending. We miss you Desmond I hope your living a happier life somewhere in the great beyond 😭
I kept my tears in, even when Pneuma died and Pyra and Mythra returned. But the part that got me was Poppi being the first to run up and hug them. It's a cliché at this point that robots can't feel emotions, and it's been a topic of conversation if Poppi is a real blade. But her being genuinely happy seeing Pyra and Mythra again proves she is no less real than any of the other Blades.
We all have something in our lives that has deeply affected us, to the point that it becomes the pillar of our most beautiful memories. That's what Xenoblade Chronicles 2 has meant to me. @tahamohammad8842 I think by the end she understood he suffered just as she did. The face he made before disappearing told her everything he could never admit. He was relieved to die like this. That he wanted someone to put him out of his misery. It took 500 years to realize he craves other things besides destruction, that amalthous' influencece was something he could never escape despite being the aegis.

It’s currently 2:57 in the morning and this song just started playing. I’m midway through and I’m already in tears. This may be stupid but this game means a lot to me. I played it when I was suffering through a depression and I remember quickly falling love with nearly every aspect. At the time it felt like everything around me was crumbling and that all I was all alone and this game somehow helped me cope with that feeling. I loved the dynamic between the group and all of their chemistry, especially that of Rex and Pyra and that’s what made the ending so damn heartbreaking. It was so raw and emotional and it was.... simply beautiful. I’m aware that this game has its share of flaws but to me, it’s a masterpiece and one of the greatest games of all time. It most definitely helps that the soundtrack is phenomenal
at a time when so many terrible sequels were coming out and it seemed just nobody could do anything right, it was so fantastic to get a sequel to an amazing game (that itself barely got a shot to exist), that... managed to be great. despite there being zero reason to do a sequel.. or so we thought
Man it took me YEARS to get into this game. I always dismissed it because of the stupid character design and some of the early cutscenes. I only gave it a 2nd chance because I played one and enjoyed it. Holy SHIT. I had to pause the game a couple of moments in the endgame just to recover from the emotional blows. Rex's "We're...finally here..." Absolutely BROKE me 10/10 made me cry more than nier
glad you gave it a shot. though really, there's nothing wrong with the character designs. don't let typical american puritanism blind you. "some of the characters were sexy so i couldn't take it seriously" is a very very stunted attitude.
@@YARGGG_GG ohh yeah, that sweet American Puritism was definitely a factor lmao. Had to discover the Nier series before I could enjoy tits and ass (I still believe dalia's design is garbage)
4:20 This exact melody ("Can I ask you, God? Despite all of this") is present in The Tomorrow With You (and one or two other songs as well), this OST is so damn good.
I don’t get a lot of the hate X gets. It’s a fun episodic sci-fi romp, and the characters are well done. It’s going for something very different from the other two games, and it’s better for it. Sure it ended on a cliffhanger, but honestly Xenoblade 2 was the first game that I think actually had a good ending. I always thought that the main antagonist of Xenoblade 1 was it’s weakest point.
The cinematography - for lack of a better term - in the big cutscenes in 2 was really awesome throughout and a step up for the series. But while all three games have epic battle scenes, it was the end credits scene and scenes like that that impressed me most. Slower, intimate scenes put together and animated so. freaking. well. I've watched the end cutscene numerous times partly because of how darn well it's done.
even as an 31y old dude, this pushes my tear glands hard. man, the emotions in this game are intense. great title. have to go back to it the 4th time....
I just finished the game for the first time last night, and I've never in my life cried so much from a game. Genuinely touched my heart like no other game has.
I finished it myself last week-ish. My heart is still melted… It was also the first game to make me cry, and this song just made me sob. I’m glad to see you also enjoyed this incredible experience.
XBC2 is the best out of the 3 Xenoblade Chronicles games. After just finishing XBC3 last night, 2 had a bigger impact for me. The sense of adventure, a clear goal, the music between titans, the 2 vocal themes, that ending. Nothing compares. Also the prequel DLC chapter was icing on the cake.
XC2 has a really strong overarching story, but I think it has some bad pacing at points. Chapter 4 feels mostly unnecessary and doesn't progress much of anything. I think they could have done a better job setting up the country of Mor Ardain and exactly what troubles they are having, rather than going into a subplot about Bana manufacturing artificial blades that frankly doesn't have a great payoff. For that reason alone, I think Xenoblade 1 and 3 have better stories. The pacing in those games is much faster and waste less time, there aren't any sour points as long or as bad as Chapter 4 in XC2. It doesn't help that I think Mor Ardain has some questionable enemy placement, with much higher level enemies that are just flying over the area and can spot you while walking to main story points. XC1 just has a couple of long-winded areas, and XC3 just asks you to do some sidequests for a short amount of time, but those are really the only things I can think of that I take issue with regarding their main stories.
@@jacobmonks3722 While I agree that XC2 chapter 4 has bad pacing, I strongly disagree about how. The problem is the kids shenanigans at the begining, not Mor Ardain. Which isn't a subplot (establish Torna as a menace by giving them a bot army, Poppi's and Tora's arc, set Morag and Mythra) and leads to exploration with the non-linear path and the overleveled ennemies. XC1 did have a "lower" part too, with Makna Forest and Village Frontier (just place Melia and her squad at the end of Satorl Marsh or start of Eryth Sea), which also have overleveled (or just annoying) ennemies to avoid.
@Evan Pereira I think Makna Forest is great actually. We get introduced to Alvis, Riki, and Melia back to back to back, and we resolve Melia's short term struggle of wanting to get vengeance for her comrades' deaths, while also giving a very nice look into her views of leadership that we want to see develop by the end of the story. Also, Frontier Village is only like 15 minutes of gameplay if you don't care about sidequests at all. So it's quite fast paced if you just want to get a move on. And the high level enemies are really easy to ignore, at least in me experience. Don't stray off the main path and it's likely you won't even see them.
I know Tora functions only as a comic relief character and lacks the emotional depth that Riki has (aside from the parts on Mor Ardain), but when I tell you he has my entire heart. The parts during cutscenes where you see him fight, this small furball that only reaches to the knees of the ones he fights, but still determined to protect Rex with Poppi just touches my heart. And then during the ending where you can see him look happy and smiling brightly while being held up by Poppi just makes me so happy. He’s not my favorite character in the game, but he’s very close. Some of the Nopons in this franchise are so amazing.
Finished XC2 recently, I had the biggest smile during the ending, something any game hardly makes me feel, such an excellent finale. "And thus, boy meets girl", simply flawless, what a game man, what a game, I just love it so much, easily top ten, the few issues I have with it are easily overshadowed by all the good things it had, truly a game that'll never forget. Wish I could play it for the first time again.
Considering the lyrics of this song, I don't understand how anyone could think that Pyra/Mythra said, "Hello, I'm Pyra/Myhra" or anything else that implies they forgot. The song is clearly about Pyra/Mythra asking to see Rex again so that she can tell him she loves him.
It also double doesn't make sense they would say that considering the lip syncing in the game is clearly based off the Japanese and they didn't have a chance to make edits for the English Version.
I don't know about that. If anything, them forgetting would make for a perfect ending. That's because they would be able to forget all the painful memories from the past and start a new life with Rex. I believe that this would make for a better ending than one where they just return and remember everything. It makes their sacrifice kind of insignificant.
I can't stop crying over this even after 2 years of being out I just can't listen to it. I haven't seen anything this beautiful, it's just a work of art. Thank you.
I love this game so much that it rivals with the 1st Xenoblade Chronicles game. This game literally made me cry so hard that this was the first time I ever felt so emotional. I'm grateful that it exists in the first place. Thank you Monolith Soft for everything you done in the Xenoblade franchise.
The game is a overlooked masterpiece the flaws are there like anyother game but they're too exaggerated by people to the point they don't see the good in this but i know there are those that love this game like i do. Thank you monolith for what your team made.
Darío Kalen The way it is constructed feels like it goes through the entire journey after what Pyra did to save everyone from Low Orbit Station’s collapse. And I remember the ending mainly focusing a lot on... Pyra.
Beat xenoblade 2 the other day, definitley ny favorite game ever made, this song is making me cry after that ending, i wish it wasnt over, i was so attatched to the characters, thank you Nintendo and Monilithsoft for making this beauty of a game, i'll never feel the same way about any other game.
That's how I felt when I completed the game, about 14 months ago. BTW, I got it for Christmas 2018, along with SSBU, I thought Smash would be the best game that I got that day, and from my 18th birthday (February 2nd, 2019) onward, I knew I was wrong. I love Xenoblade 2 more than any other game, and I hope Xenoblade 1 DE can live up to it.
I can't help it. I come back to this soundtrack once every month, just to get emotional about Desmond's whatever. I don't want to think about it, but his face is everywhere I go. I miss that boi, I miss him a lot...
I'm only 1:20 in and I've already had to stop listening to this because I'm literally tearing up. This game is magical, and i think this song will always make me cry in the best was possible. XC2 is my favourite game of all time, and this whole ending and song just cements my feelings to it.

"Shulk, I can see it. In this World, all life will walk towards the future together" Fits surprisingly well to this theme as well, doesn't it? And now imagine a "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" where the worlds of 1 & 2 would be united......
The Xeno universe always have an ending song that crush your heart and emotions right on. Xenosaga Episode 1 with "Pain" and "Kokoro", and now XC2 with "One Last You". Thank you Yasunori Mitsuda for being a key in this universe and Jen Bird for providing such an angelical voice for this song.

I absolutely love this game, the characters, the story, the music, all of it
Truly holds a different place in my heart them other games do

Very end of eternity
The final day has come to an end, it's gone for good
I would then slowly close my eyes
And be cuddled by the shining memory piece
I will trace back all the memories with you
That's the only wish I have
The last day with you was truly magical
The frozen time began to flow
At last the longest night has gone and brought in light
I felt myself melt in the morning light
The final grain of sand has dropped
I will slowly so quietly fall into sleep
I see you gently fade away
Your silhouette has gone to the other side of the mist
And all the memories with no sound so quiet
Just like in slow motion it moves so slowly
And so the last day with you was truly magical
The frozen time began to flow
At last the longest night has gone and brought in light
I felt myself melt in the morning light
You have gifted many things to me
(But I) wonder if I could've done the same for you
If you would let me, I will give back a handful
If it would put a little smile on your face
Can I ask you, God? Despite all of this...
Could the sandglass somehow take back the time?
One last time is all I ask from you
Can you please spare me some time with the one man I loved?
I wouldn't care how and where (you could) it should be
But I need one last time I want to tell you, how I feel inside for you

This game is a beautiful piece of art.
Man it took me YEARS to get into this game. I always dismissed it because of the stupid character design and some of the early cutscenes. I only gave it a 2nd chance because I played one and enjoyed it.

Definitely!
I love both equally
The real Elysium was the friends we made along the way

Looking back, the fact that this meme isn't inaccurate to the plot of the game is hilarious
Philosophic sentence.
Don't cry that its over. Be happy that it happened.
I can't stop crying over this even after 2 years of being out I just can't listen to it. I haven't seen anything this beautiful, it's just a work of art. Thank you.

@@beanricorules um... "As time goes by, and we all change. Not just us, the world keeps changing."????
This song is so beautiful 😭
I can't help it. I come back to this soundtrack once every month, just to get emotional about Desmond's whatever. I don't want to think about it, but his face is everywhere I go. I miss that boi, I miss him a lot...
I'm only 1:20 in and I've already had to stop listening to this because I'm literally tearing up. This game is magical, and i think this song will always make me cry in the best was possible.
XC2 is my favourite game of all time, and this whole ending and song just cements my feelings to it.
This fits Xenoblade 3 ending a lot.
Xenoblade 1 had a masterpiece ending
Xenoblade 2 had a masterpiece ending that made me cry like a baby
I expect Xenoblade 3 to have a masterpiece ending and cure my autism
update now that xenoblade 3 is out?
@@GalderaVG Autism still present, but damn it made me cry like a little spark.
Now let's wait 1.5 years for the dlc and I will give an update.
@@SmiguelS any updates now that the DLC is out?
@@DaFro3713 I have never in my life cried so much without knowing why, safe to say I'm still not cured o7.
I played xenoblade 3, but still xenoblade 2 is still my favourite in the series
reading the lyrics of this song after finishing 3... hits kinda hard
I am now emotionally devastated.
pain
"The last day with you was truly magical
The frozen time began to flow
At last the longest night has gone and brought in light
I felt myself melt in the morning light"
Hope to see them meet again, maybe DLC?
I am going to fucking die if they don't meet again

I want to come back here to just express my thanks to Xenoblade 2.
This series has and will always be so special to me. It inspired me to create. And I still to this day proclaim my goal to create a story as meaningful to someone as this game was to me.
So thank you Xenoblade. For giving me purpose.
I absolutely love the ending, one of the best and emotional ones I have ever seen.
thank you etika for convincing me to get this game
Too bad Etika didn't take one of the key lessons of this game to heart.
When I first listened to this song, I was thinking about how depressed I was going to be after playing the game.
And then the core crystal started to glow. And I started grinning like an idiot.
4:19 gets me every single time... Why are the feels so hard
No Rex, no te hagas esto, deja de recordarla, no me hagas llorar a mi, Waaaaaa...
Increíblemente han pasado 5 años y aun sigo estremeciéndome con este final
"Shulk, I can see it. In this World, all life will walk towards the future together"
Fits surprisingly well to this theme as well, doesn't it?
And now imagine a "Xenoblade Chronicles 3" where the worlds of 1 & 2 would be united......
Nah, that last part sounds like crazy talk! They would never do that
lol
About that.
you sound delusional boy maybe in another life
Imagine if it exists 😏
Easily my second favorite story of all time. Characters, Music, and Themes are amazing.
3:48 Here's the part where everyone in the audience waves their lighters
i like how this also applies to M and N at the end of 3
I'm so Glad I played these games I was super invested in xenoblade 1 and as epic as a story, playing through xenoblade 2 the first time it was magical, say what you will about its tutorials and map system not being good but it was the first video game to ever make me actually cry from both story and music multiple times and there's a certain couple of parts in 3 that made me cry. I wish I could experience it all again.
