Yeah, that's bad, but you know what else is bad? Having to compare everything else you play post-Xenoblade to Xenoblade and realize that "Wow, this is really good, but it's not Xenoblade..."
I decided to play this game again after investing 450 hours and being done with it for half a year. The intro gave me the feels, and seeing Rex with Pyra and Nia in the intro killed my heart. I'm so glad I spent my money for this game.
Something I adore about Xenoblade 2 is that despite the art style or the way the characters might act, there's a strong undercurrent of sadness running through the entire game. All of the party members struggle to find their place in the world, which is literally dying because the main antagonist saw too much and grew to hate it and himself. The only person with the will to do something about it all is a young boy who has already given and lost far more than what he deserves. This song illustrates it perfectly. It might be my favorite in the entire series
Yeah. The deliberately over the top, almost anime parody thing they've done with this game makes the contrast to suffering so much more powerful when things get real
In the beginning of the game those moments of anime silliness kind of annoyed me but after awhile I stopped noticing. In retrospect I think the contrast of those moments of levity made the more somber and sad moments hit much harder. In spite of the games flaws I still consider it a masterpiece.
“Memories can be painful, they can be a terrible burden. Sometimes, being able to forget is a... blessing. Eternity is a long time to collect bad memories.” It was at this part that I was thinking; “Pyra, you poor thing, what happened to make you think like this?”
TubaySebas #Teamkroko Fortunately, she finally found someone who helped guide her on a brighter path. “I often wondered why I had to keep living, on and on, with no end in sight. But now, I’m glad I’ve stayed alive all these years. Even so, I hope someday, I can close my eyes forever, with someone special, there, by my side.”
I just reached that part again on my new game plus playthrough, after having finished Torna. During the first time, it was curiosity, pondering why she would think that way. After playing Torna, those words hit home much, much harder than ever before.
i came back here today, never i cried than with the xenoblade trilogy, now that its gone i remember playing the game at night and study with this with my fella, now im sad cause of the music and this
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was a game that actually made me cry. Not many games could say they could do that. The world of Xenoblade Chronicles 2 feels like an epic dream. People struggling due to Titans falling over time. This games themes. This game is art.
I do have a slight complaint that every major nation is a monarchal state. The only elected official shown in-game is that scumbag, Senator Roderick. If you're going to preach enlightened ideas, don't support hereditary hierarchies.
@Max Richards wrong, actually Gormott is a republic and even though it’s not really a nation the argentum trade guild (every trade guild actually) have elected presidents... then yeah I guess the bigger nations are monarchies. But then I don’t think it gets in the way of the game’s ideas, it’s a kinda medieval world so it makes sense that there are kingdoms instead of republics. Idk it’s not a bad thing imo
While the credits were rolling the only thing I could think about was how depressed I was going to be after finishing the game cause Pneuma died. Then the core crystal started glowing and I grinned like an idiot.
it's akhos and malos or aion. malos and akhos because you probably don't have the knowledge to seal taunt and akhos can heal and they can shackle your drivers. aion because Prometheus and War of the Servants. also because why does it cause blowdown? why can he use it more than once? even when not using prometheus he has siren buster to kill you.
This game means more to me than anything else. It's my favourite thing there is, not because of the amazing story, gameplay or music, but because of what it showed me about life. I first got it about a week into the 2020 lockdown and even outside of that whole series of tragedies my entire life and mental health had severely taken a hit. I seriously considered ending it all, but I felt the need to finish this game and see the end before I die, so I did and the game's ending made me realize that life should be lived even if it seems like your death is what's best for you and everyone else. This game taught me to value life even if it seems like a waste or harmful to others, and I will never forget or stop loving this game about pulling people out of rocks to find heaven because of that.
Holy fuck, I mean this game’s magical but damn. Hope you’re doing ok. I’m glad you too could be enchanted by this work of art. Take good care of yourself.
hope youre doing alright now, you magnificent warrior you. i am incredibly proud of you for finding a new will to live, and im very glad this work of art showed you a new path. i believe in you. never forget youre not alone, okay?
That is hecking awesome. Even though I only know you now, it makes me so, so happy to read that. Games are incredible and can help inspire incredible things! I wish you all the best, and you can 100% be proud of yourself! I am!
Even after going trough the whole series, from Xenogears to Xenoblade 3, Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is the Game in the Franchise I think about the most. It‘s the Game that made me the most emotional. It‘s not just my favorite Xeno Game, or my favorite Game, but my favorite piece of media ever. Is it perfect? No, but no piece of media will ever be, and you shouldn’t expect it. In fact, the fact that Xenoblade 2, despite its problems, still is one of the most emotional stories in Gaming just makes me love it even more. I just cannot bring myself to hate it. I truly love this Game! Thank you Monolith Soft!
If I were a blade, I could gladly return to my core crystal, lose my memory, and play this game for the first time again. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is such a wonderful game and will probably never leave my list of all-time favorites.
I picked this game up off of mild curiosity from the Smash reveal. The debates that sparked over their conclusion just intrigued me. Fanservice designs and what not, but so many said they adored the game, so why not? For all of the faults I have with the game, the experience changed me. I was fully enveloped in nihilism. To be honest? I barely cared for my life. The journey the game took me through has made appreciate my life so much more. I still struggle on some days, but even just listening to the soundtrack brings back memories that help me look towards the future and face it head on. With all that said, Xenoblade 2 Definitive Edition would be so damn hype.
Something about the Xenoblade franchise screams "find a purpose" I haven't played one yet but two was telling you to enjoy the people around you and Xenoblade three was pretty obvious in the final poem. "Look toward your chosen horizon, and just walk on"
No comments? This song is so insanely good though! Especially once you reach the ending of the game, you get back to the title screen with the final image, and... MMMFF.
To me it is different games, different feelings, different things I took away from playing them. Legend of Zelda is a series I hold dear to my heart and few things will ever top a new entry into the Zelda series for me. I spent countless hours on the plains of Hyrule in wonder, exploring, climbing and swimming through a massive and amazing world and it is an experience I will not forget. Xenoblade 2 is the same, but for different reasons, mostly the characters. I liked the likes of Urbossa, Mipha and Zelda herself in BotW and it was nice to see some more time poured into the characters in a Zelda game (though they have been going that way for a while now), but the character there were never going to hold a candle to the ones from Xenoblade 2 who are in focus from start to finish. Pyra and all the others grabbed my heart and held on tight as they took me on an amazing journey that left me in tears of joy by the end, but at the same time BotW left me winded, but in a good way, the kind of way where you feel you just experienced and completed amazing. Different, but equally amazing sensations to have at the end of a videogame. BotW is the winner in my book, but that probably comes down to personal bias, but both games are amazing in their own right.
You know, I really hope monolith soft goes on to do even greater things then what they have already done. And that isn't to say that they haven't done good things already. They gifted us with some of the best, if not the best, JRPG's to ever grace this earth. Whatever it is they do next, whether it be Xenoblade or something completely different, i'm with them all the way.
The Del Station honestly at this point monolith soft could start their own line of dog food and I would buy it in a heartbeat. I’m so excited for their upcoming new RPG, other Xeno games, and whatever else they have for us.
*Pyra is the new smash character * * Smash fans start hating on her because she is a swordfighter* Xenoblade 2 fans who've been waiting for 3 years: B R U H
The Smash community is such a pathetic joke. Did I personally want Min Min in Smash? No, I didn’t. But do you see me throwing a temper tantrum about it? Not at all! I’m not going to go around to strangers and shove comments like “wAsTE oF a sLoT” or “wHO wAnTeD tHiS?” down their throats when I know that there are tons of people out there who wanted her. People should just be happy that there’s 80+ fighters in the game from all different kinds of universes and you can wait another day without seeing Crash or Doomguy. Anyways, sorry about that long rant. I’m so happy that this day finally arrived. Meanwhile, poor Rex. 😂
@@ametrine7462 I hate min min only because of their move set and campy playstyle. I was exited for this character and I haven't even played xenoblade 2 yet. I'm still on 1.
Well they were planning for ARMS and Xenoblade 2 fighters to get into the base game, but they came out too late in Ultimate's development, supposedly. I can't say I wasn't surprised by Pyra/Mythra getting in, I was pleasantly surprised, but in retrospect It's not that unexpected. I'm getting something I want _for once,_ I should be allowed to be happy about it. It's more important than just getting a fighter, it's giving Xenoblade and Monolith more acknowledgment. I heard Xenoblade 2 went "out-of-print" in Japan some time after the Smash trailer, which means that it likely sold out thanks to her getting in Smash.
@@ametrine7462 as much as I hate to day it, I hope we never get another Smash game in the future. Thanks to the Smash community, the series has devolved into merely a competition of representation with each Fighter's Pass
This whole series means a lot to me. I only heard of Xenoblade 6 years ago, when Shulk was announced for smash, but then I looked up Chuggaconroy’s LP, and I loved the game so much. I never had a new 3ds, I couldn’t find the wii version, and X was not my cup of Jenerossi Tea at all. I wanted to play the original before 2, so I avoided every spoiler possible, and asked for it for Christmas 2018, and instead, I received 2 from my paternal grandmother. I was caught up in smash ultimate hype for a month, but on my birthday, February 2nd, I took my time to play this game, and I loved every second of it. The story, the characters, the themes, the world design, the gameplay, the soundtrack, everything about it was amazing. My mind was blown when xc1DE was announced, and I preordered the digital version so I could play it at midnight on launch day, and I loved that game too. In the end, however, 2 was the one I loved more, not only because I played it blind, but also because It changed me as a person.
@@ダニエル-x5d you would love Aquare. He's a cover artist on TH-cam that does some fantastic work on covers. He has the cover I learned of this song there, so if you want to learn it yourself, I definitely recommend his channel.
This theme becomes so much more meaningful once you finish the game lol. Not sure why, it just makes you feel like sitting back and reflecting on the roller coaster ride you had in the game
It just has the right amount of nostalgia through a journey, sadness due to loss, and the uplifting, courageous parts with a tint of sadness arriving soon. Finally the epic part comes in, but soon drops to silence and nostalgia again... Yep, a very well composed piece in my opinion, with waves of subtle emotions.
Xenoblade chronicles 2 may be the most divisive game in the series but it means alot to me, it was the first Xenoblade game I've ever beaten and the one I always go back into
I've pretty close to 100% all three games and the dlc and the only ones I can see myself replaying are this, Torna, and Future Redeemed. Even though people complained a lot about the blade system, the fact that there is so much you can do with the combat of 2 makes it fun to try random setups and go to challenge mode. 2 has the best battle system still imo.
I remember completing this game back in 2019 and it changed me as a person, and changed my views on gaming. God damn you Xenoblade chronicles 2, I'll never forget the massive impact you made on me and I'll forever cherish you as my favourite game of all time.
Just finished Xenoblade 2 it will always be one of those beautiful games that I keep close to my heart, it made me feel things throughout the entire play through truly a wonderful experience
I have no words... Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was definitely my GOTY of 2017. The story, characters, gameplay, music, content, and visuals is just *chefs kiss.* Breath of the Wild and Nier Automata were really close tho.
I need to get this off my chest. This year, it will be 6 years since this game was released. I kid you not, ever since the day I played this game (which was on release day, 1st December) something in me changed. This game is so special to me. It taught me so many things, made me reflect on my life and evaluate it. I became more optimistic, more hopeful and I even started to be more confident in myself. I was 18 at the time, didn't know where life would take me and felt lost in general. I wasn't really doing well mentally and I felt numb. But then this game came along. Oh boy, it was exactly the thing I needed to get me going. This game is about a kid facing many hardships, fending for himself and overcoming many challenges thrown his way. But despite all that, he remained optimistic, taking things in stride, faltering sometimes but learning from it. It's a coming of age story. Yes, life can be hard and really cruel. But as Rex said it, you have to take the bad with the good. Everything will be fine as long as you put your heart into it and believe in yourself. Thank you Nintendo and Monolith Soft. Thank you for developing this game. There hasn't been a single day where I haven't thought about this game. It had and always will have such a big impact on me. It's my favorite game of all time. Honestly to all the people who haven't played a Xenoblade game, please do yourself a favor and play one. You won't regret it. Those games are some of the finest pieces of art out there.
I would stay on the title screen for so much time just listening to this beautiful theme. sometimes I would just turn on the switch to play this theme while I did things. not even play the game haha.
Without their arrival to Smash, I would've never been able to experience such a beautiful masterpiece. I've been gaming for 15 years (Since I was 5) and never have I been able to bear so many emotions for a game like this before. So many memories of happiness, sorrow, anger, and satisfaction were arisen from me by this game. I've never smiled and cried before this much for one game before and I'm just so glad that it was fate that brought me to this hell of a adventure. I'm happy that I beat it because it filled a warm hole in my heart of just character development and story telling, but also sad because I won't be able to get to experience a game like this again. Like one comment I read here once, I wish I was a blade so I can forget and relive this experience again. I love this game with all my heart and I'm grateful to have lived in a time where this game was available.
Honestly same. I hate to admit it, but I too was one of the many salty fans who wasn’t too fond of their entry in Smash. But something changed, and long story short, I gave them a chance and played their game. It was one of the greatest 2 months of my life and I just had a such a blast. I guess you really can’t judge a book by it’s cover. And oddly enough, it was the first game to ever make me just sob and ugly cry. I never cry at fictional stuff, let alone video games. This just goes to show how incredible the story and characters are. Not only was I able to experience something so legendary, but I may or may not have gained a certain two waifus…XDD. Okay in all seriousness, I love this game. End of story.
@@brandonojeda1686 Same, I remember being the same age and experiencing Xenoblade 1 with all the same amazement that a game could possibly be *so much.* I've never felt a greater sense of peace in life than the glow after beating it for the first time. I'm elated to experience 3 with you all in just two months
Xenoblade chronicles 2 was the first RPG i ever played and I have to thank monolith soft for showing me a genre I would of never played if it wasn't for XC 2
Spoilers for the end of the game: When Rex finally tells Malos what his role in the world is, his first two lines are almost contradictory. He opens with (in response to "who do you think you're doing this for") "I'm doing it for myself," and then adds "if it helps put smiles on peoples faces, helps them live their lives together, then that's my role in this world" What might at first seem contradictory is actually the height of Rex's characterisation. When push comes to shove, and when there's a problem, Rex doesn't think "I" or "them" He thinks "us" I love this game, this story, these characters - so so much. I played through this game while dealing with emotional abuse, and it's ugly aftermath, AND the social stresses of coming out at the same time. I can't thank the developers and the community behind this game enough. They made my life just a little more liveable for those few months. And although I'm in a better place now, I still look back openly on where I used to be
We don’t know each other, but I’m happy that you’re still here and continuing to move forward. I’m also happy that this wonderful game helped you with your issues just as much as it did for me. This is a beautiful analysis of a beautiful scene from a beautiful game.
I realize that I, also, played all the Xenoblade titles during deep depression crisis... these games are so full of true emotions that it help me/us feeling less alone and in the dark. I love those games, not only because they are well made, but because it allows to deeply connect with the characters, their universes, their doubts, their motivations. So glad I could experience this
Started playing this game last week and the moment I boot up the game, I hear this. I was just laying there in my bed for 15 minutes just thinking about my life and forgot I bought a video game that’s playing right in front of me. Seeing that title screen with the rain and storm clouds with the music playing for the first time was just magical and in my opinion can’t be replicated again.
Man, can't believe the game released 4 years ago. And what a perfect game to end an amazing year of gaming. What I would do to just forget everything about this game and experience it all over again.
00:00:37 Above the highest clouds, Beyond the tallest trees, Once was a home for you and me. Far we fell and still we fall From that lofty place where we used to be. So cast down to the world goes my soul, down below Forever bound by the sins of old, or so I am told. Still I will lift my head and raise my eyes up to paradise. High I'll climb 'til I reach the sky And find myself where the angels used to fly.
This is the first game to ever bring me to tears. Like, I was sobbing during the ending. And I’m a grown ass man! I absolutely loved this game. The story, the gameplay, the personality behind the characters, everything! Even a month after beating the game I’m still discovering new things! This game will go down as one of my favorite games of all time
Just realized: From 1:02 to 1:22, you get to hear the instrumental part of a fraction of the most powerful and emotional verse of the song that makes all of us cry when beating the game. I see this as a call of fate. You are destined to experience those set of events that will lead the characters to the final fight and the post scenes. The title of 'Where We Used To Be' starts to make sense once you beat the game and lived through all of those emotional, sad and happy moments that the game offers. The whole new meaning that this melody obtains after beating the game is more like a memento of all the experiences and memories that the characters (and you) have lived (this is why it hits very hard after beating the game). If you boot up the title screen again after beating the game, you clearly see one thing: contemplation. Only if the sandglass could somehow take back the time, we could relive some good moments and do what we couldn't... Return to where we used to be. I don't know, it is poetic for me.
this is EASILY the best game i have EVER played, and its the only game that has made me cry. im so excited to hear the next beautiful piano title track. xenoblade 3, i have high, high expectations for you. The part where Rex, Mythra, and Pyra are in the illusion that the Architect made, is the single most emotional moment ive had in gaming.
It's probably the second game that made me cry. The first one was Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon, the scene with Personal Frame. That game seriously needs a remaster.
When I first booted up the game, I remember thinking this theme was "lovely." After beating the game and listening to it again, I was absolutely devastated (in a good way). These composers are geniuses.
Sometimes, when this game is at its best, the feeling this song gives shines through. A feeling of missing days gone by, and never seeing days yet to come. The feeling of not knowing the answers, and seeking them perhaps in vain. A feeling like you're a step away from something greater, and yet it is just the same so far away. Sometimes the game loses this feeling, and sometimes... it strikes you at your very heart. The desire everyone has to search for a better future, to remember the pasts they've lost, to find the answer to why they're here, to know why things are the way they are, and to finally have a world where they can be at peace. That feeling comes the strongest through this song. It is for that reason this song is so amazing, for it gives off all of those feelings, all at once. When I listen to this song, I feel the intention behind every note, and I can't help but gain a feeling like i'm missing something terribly important, but I can't quite put my finger on it. It's a feeling I've seldom felt before, and this game and this song, perhaps, makes me feel it stronger than anything else.

I feel your comment is just as underappreciated as the game and OST you're talking about. :)
Andrew Myers, I think you've hit upon one of the biggest themes behind Xenoblade 2, the Xenoblade series, hell, even the entire Xeno franchise as a whole.
This is honestly my favorite title theme in the series and moreover I love that the motiff is repeated in other tracks in the game as well (Elysium in the dream especially).
this game- this legendary game, has changed my whole life. from that stormy clouds filling the title screen, to Mythra, Rex, Nia and Pyra holding each other hands and staring at The World Tree, and both title screen playing the same theme, i don't want to close my switch, i just want to replay it again and again, ah damn this game is so good. finally i can make some another memories- no. finally i can have some another fun.
After beating the game this song feels sad to me, I am reminded of the times I spent with my friends, we did so much, I spent so much time here in Alrest, I'll never forget this trilogy of games, they are truly amazing and something special. Thankyou Xenoblade, Thankyou Monolith, Thankyou Nintendo, Thankyou Takahashi...
I will never tire from hearing the beautiful masterpiece that is xenoblade 2's ost. A shame indeed that it didn't win in the game awards. That is how it is sometimes. Underappreciated gems. Hopefully one day this can become popular somehow and more people can experience this beautiful game/OST
What a shame. As DKCTF (not even nominated) in 2014, surpsassed by Destiny. For me DKCTF OST is one of the greatest ones of all time. But XC2 OST will always be the best one.
Well after people beat Xenoblade chronicles definitive edition they came to Xenoblade 2 and the game is having a resurgence with people like chuggaaconroy and flyann.
My favorite game of all time, I never felt so much emotions while playing a game I got so inmersed on the world that I was unable to stop thinking about it and then in the end I cried like a baby, I love this game with all my soul after I finished this game I played Xeno X and then the first one, all of the Xenoblades are masterpieces each one made me feel insane emotions no other game can, and now Xenoblade 3 is coming I can wait to experience something beautiful again
Just beat the game about 15 minutes ago. Still not sure if I like this game more than the first (repeat playthroughs will be required) but wow, this one had the better ending by far. Rarely do I cry at these sorts of things, but this one got me real good. Had to close out into the home menu a few times just to collect myself. The visual of the titans coming home killed me I don't plan on getting XC3 until later this year (got a few more games on my bucket list to play first), but I am still quite excited to see where the story continues from here. I'm glad the two stories tied together as nicely as they did, and am interested to see where XC3 takes things. Now all we need is a Xenoblade X port and I will be at peace
I remember watching chuggaconroy playing Xenoblade one and I absolutely adored it (although I was probably a little on the young side for that kind of story). A year or two later I was with my parents at Walmart and saw this game. I recognized the name and begged my parents to let me but it for myself. Best decision I ever made. Favourite game of all time. Thanks 12 year old me
I would always skip this song when I started up Xenoblade 2 because I didn’t want to feel down, and I was always excited to continue the game. When I finally beat it, I just sat there hearing the whole song for the first time as I realized this could very well be the last I’ll ever see of these characters and this world. It had taken me about a year to beat the game, so I had a long time to grow very attached to everything about it, and I always expected there to be more waiting for me whenever I opened it. But now it was all finished. My first time listening to the entirety of this song combined with the sadness I was currently feeling gave me a flashback of everything I had done in this game. My first time launching it and seeing the clouds, joking to my friends that the game took place in Scotland, losing in that Akhos and Malos fight so many times I thought I would be stuck forever, that time when Rex’s depressed state and the spirit crucible elpys made me actually feel the same hopelessness as he was, and many other moments and memories. Due to finishing this game in the early stage of quarantine, I felt especially lonely without it. Left alone with my emotions, I spent many nights the next few weeks sitting in bed, listening to the sad songs from this soundtrack, and crying. For a long time the only thing I wanted was to be able to experience this game for the first time again. That’s when I decided that this was my favorite game, and the best I had ever played. Thank you for that, MonolithSoft. Thank you for that gift of light. On a less emotional tone, I’m pretty happy to see more streamers playing this game after the smash reveal. Of the ones I’ve seen finish it, they all said they enjoyed it and I could see the tears forming in the eyes of some of them.
Well good and bad news. Good news is a rumored XC3 is on the way set in this universe. The bad news is it’s set in the far distant future. So characters like Rex will be gone but Pyra/Mythra will most likely still be alive dealing with Rex being gone.
I haven't played this game but I am currently saving up for it . I can't wait to start my journey soon . xenoblade chronicles was fantastic and I can't wait to try this one .
I was just like you 2 weeks ago. And just as I'm typing this, I just finished my Journey. I hope you enjoyed it just as much as I did because it was one hell of a ride to be part of
I got this game in January 2018 just a month after its release in the UK, and played through all of it. It was my introduction to Xenoblade, and the first “proper” RPG I had played that wasn’t Pokemon. I was 13 at the time. This game will always have a special place in my heart even with all of its flaws.
After having scrolled through several of the comments, I'm so glad to hear the positive affiliations people have with not only this song, but this game in general. To me, this game means so much. I had never played a more engrossing game that captivated me so much in its world and characters, and looking back on it fondly, I can safely say that this moment of my life, no, this experience was certainly one of the best I have ever gone through. I hold this game in such high regards because of that, and I constantly call back moments from this game in my own real life experiences and scenarios because of how universal the messages are. I love this game, and I'm glad so many others do as well
As someone who has traveled the internet for nearly a decade, I can say that I've seen mere drops of the good and bad this place has to offer...…but this song......is my Elysium and always will be..... I hope whoever is reading this has a great day or night and take care of yourself, ok?
Finished XC1 a few months ago. Just now XC2. I’m so glad that I decided to try them out. What a journey both have been. The soundtracks, the gameplay, the atmosphere and especially the story. Hoping that XC3 comes soon edit: a few minutes after the direct. i’m speechless. we get another xenoblade game
Listening to this only makes me think of that lonely room Pyra was sealed in, imagining how she must've felt knowing how alone she'd be in the world once she reawakens with all the painful memories of the past.
Memories of endless meadows beyond the forest, of hills and plains reaching the sea, of parties with the entire family. The mansion in the woods, covered in vines and old vegetation, yet still cared for and alive, times when the world was at peace, now abandoned by the family. Yet it is still alive, a band of heros live here waiting for the next great adventure.
I love how this melody was used in so many songs throughout the game. Jin's theme, one last you, the tomorrow with you. It basically says that it all comes back to where they used to be and everyone's struggles to survive in this world. The song on it's own is beautiful but the more you think about it the better it gets.
I remember when I got this game. It was on release day, I had it pre ordered. The school made us go to a theater to see an indie movie and when we got out it was snowing. I went directly to the shop which was near the theatre (I had it planned beforehand) and got the game and a poster which is the picture of this video. The edges of the poster got a bit wet due to the snow. I still have that poster, even after changing homes. This game was one which I kept comparing to Xenoblade 1, but it was some years later than seeing the amount of hours I spent and the enjoyment I had I started appreciating the OST of this game
The worst part about Xenoblade games is that you don’t get to experience them for the first time again..
But once you do, you never forget
Yeah, that's bad, but you know what else is bad? Having to compare everything else you play post-Xenoblade to Xenoblade and realize that "Wow, this is really good, but it's not Xenoblade..."
You sound almost like p5 fans
@@stanthegreatman6592 Who, me? Never played any SMT stuff, even though I was suggested to try P5 a couple times
@@nyxmiloq4167 Bruh this is so true. Everytime my friends introduce me to a game I go, "But is it as good as Xenoblade?"

I decided to play this game again after investing 450 hours and being done with it for half a year. The intro gave me the feels, and seeing Rex with Pyra and Nia in the intro killed my heart. I'm so glad I spent my money for this game.
Can confirm-finished the story a couple of hours ago, stayed on the menu and just let it play
It might be my favorite in the entire series
thank you very much, its a wounderfull way to describe it :)
I agree. I just wish the game had fewer of "those moments", because when it sticks to its core themes it's actually really, really good.
“Memories can be painful, they can be a terrible burden. Sometimes, being able to forget is a... blessing. Eternity is a long time to collect bad memories.”
It was at this part that I was thinking; “Pyra, you poor thing, what happened to make you think like this?”

Xenoblade 2 is now 5 years old. Man, what a game...
Its almost 6 years old in fact :), I agree with you.

If I were a blade, I could gladly return to my core crystal, lose my memory, and play this game for the first time again. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is such a wonderful game and will probably never leave my list of all-time favorites.
Reading this actually warmed my heart
This game and Breath of the Wild. The first play through just hits so differently.
Same. This game is so insanely good.
wouldn't you have to have your driver die though? lol
I went through something similar with Xenoblade 1
Something about the Xenoblade franchise screams "find a purpose" I haven't played one yet but two was telling you to enjoy the people around you and Xenoblade three was pretty obvious in the final poem. "Look toward your chosen horizon, and just walk on"
No comments? This song is so insanely good though! Especially once you reach the ending of the game, you get back to the title screen with the final image, and... MMMFF.
Grynn I stood there for an hour, crying my heart out inmobilized. Such a good game
AndThen YouAppeared my goty easily, the soundtrack and the way it complemented the story went a long way towards cementing that position for me.
That is what I did.
More like MFFF with that post game title screen am I right?? No? I'll leave.
You know, I really hope monolith soft goes on to do even greater things then what they have already done. And that isn't to say that they haven't done good things already. They gifted us with some of the best, if not the best, JRPG's to ever grace this earth.
It's more important than just getting a fighter, it's giving Xenoblade and Monolith more acknowledgment. I heard Xenoblade 2 went "out-of-print" in Japan some time after the Smash trailer, which means that it likely sold out thanks to her getting in Smash.

Spoilers for the end of the game:
When Rex finally tells Malos what his role in the world is, his first two lines are almost contradictory. He opens with (in response to "who do you think you're doing this for") "I'm doing it for myself," and then adds "if it helps put smiles on peoples faces, helps them live their lives together, then that's my role in this world"
What might at first seem contradictory is actually the height of Rex's characterisation. When push comes to shove, and when there's a problem, Rex doesn't think "I" or "them"
He thinks "us"

Just realized:
From 1:02 to 1:22, you get to hear the instrumental part of a fraction of the most powerful and emotional verse of the song that makes all of us cry when beating the game.

Wow....This hits different after Xenoblade Chronicles 3 trailer. Thank you for the continuation
I just recently started this game, in love with the franchise now
My first Xenoblade game, truly nostalgic. This is still the best track in the whole series.
When I first booted up the game, I remember thinking this theme was "lovely." After beating the game and listening to it again, I was absolutely devastated (in a good way). These composers are geniuses.
What an amazing video game!
Facts!
Indeed!!
Still probably the most emotional and arguably most beautiful series from Nintendo

DKCF is the best in my opinion, but Xenoblade 1 and 2 are right behind it.
Well after people beat Xenoblade chronicles definitive edition they came to Xenoblade 2 and the game is having a resurgence with people like chuggaaconroy and flyann.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 music hits hard
I always come back to this song
My favorite game of all time, I never felt so much emotions while playing a game I got so inmersed on the world that I was unable to stop thinking about it and then in the end I cried like a baby, I love this game with all my soul after I finished this game I played Xeno X and then the first one, all of the Xenoblades are masterpieces each one made me feel insane emotions no other game can, and now Xenoblade 3 is coming I can wait to experience something beautiful again
I can't express in any words how my feeling was when I beat the game then back to title screen.
Happy 7th anniversary to one of the greatest games ever made.
Easily my pick for favorite menu/title screen theme. I start humming it subconsciously all the time
Best solo piano piece in all of video game music
Change my mind
Nobody needs to
This song is so calming, istg all of xenoblade chronicles 2's music is so great
nothing beats hearing this for the first time and everytime i started the game. truly an iconic piece of music for me
This theme brings back memories, I'll never forget this game its changed me and I'll always love it until the end of time
These games really do have the best title themes. Xenoblade is a treasure. 2 is still my favorite game of all time.
I just love Xenoblade 2 so darn much. It's action-packed from top to bottom but still leaves room for beautiful stuff like this.
Xenoblade 2 isn’t just a game it’s an experience!
Easily my favorite title screen theme
Wish I can play this game for the first time ever again, it was a perfect moment
The visual of the titans coming home killed me
I don't plan on getting XC3 until later this year (got a few more games on my bucket list to play first), but I am still quite excited to see where the story continues from here. I'm glad the two stories tied together as nicely as they did, and am interested to see where XC3 takes things. Now all we need is a Xenoblade X port and I will be at peace
Xenoblade title screens always make me well up. I can’t wait for 3
I've already cried countless tears to this song... I have a feeling after the events of Xenoblade Chronicles 3 it will only hit that much harder.
Oh BELIEVE ME it does
If the nintendo switch have a true gem is this JRPG, i love him so much. XBC 3 has a pretty high bar to overcome.
It finally happened...
I was streaming the direct and started to cry out of joy
I love this game, and I'm glad so many others do as well
The feeling this hit me with when I heard it in that one Torna cutscene is unrivaled
Hoping that XC3 comes soon
edit: a few minutes after the direct. i’m speechless. we get another xenoblade game
Me too
Edit: I’m so excited for Xenoblade 3 and omg does it look so beautiful!
I’m so f ing hyped after the direct
Listening to this only makes me think of that lonely room Pyra was sealed in, imagining how she must've felt knowing how alone she'd be in the world once she reawakens with all the painful memories of the past.
Unforgettable
Memories of endless meadows beyond the forest, of hills and plains reaching the sea, of parties with the entire family. The mansion in the woods, covered in vines and old vegetation, yet still cared for and alive, times when the world was at peace, now abandoned by the family. Yet it is still alive, a band of heros live here waiting for the next great adventure.
every 5 seconds I get goosebumps while hearing this.
YOU KNOW WHY WE'RE HERE!
I love how this melody was used in so many songs throughout the game. Jin's theme, one last you, the tomorrow with you. It basically says that it all comes back to where they used to be and everyone's struggles to survive in this world. The song on it's own is beautiful but the more you think about it the better it gets.
It’s also the first and last song you hear in the game.
