@@Jouzou87Yeah, I think that makes the most sense. I have heard of ‘vamping’ as a certain way of performing (as in someone on stage), but even that had more to do with movement than anything to do with specific sexuality

One of my favorite things is kind of silly, but when you die in arsenal gear it says Fission Mailed instead of mission failed. Also, when I was young Campbell scared the bajesus out of me when he started to freak out 🤣
You don't actually have to die, you get that screen when fighting the Tengu with Snake (as a fake continue screen that is)
Yeah Fission Mailed is not a secret in the least bit and seen by every single person who plays and makes it to that point.
This is what I (and I suspect everyone) loves about MGS games. They present a game mechanic to you that looks very ordinary on the surface but then you think "hold on, what if I do this" and suddenly you're treated to easter egg after easter egg just for satisfying your own curiosity. It's frankly amazing.
Correction: You do hear the Metal Gear Music in the third game. It's in the later portion of the credits, and it's used in the later portion of the intro to the Subsistence disc of MGS3 on the PS2.
Dammit, you beat me to it. I fucking love that music and was really happy to hear it in the 3rd game.

You also hear it when entering Granin's office at Graniny Gorki, it's playing while he's drinking, but it sounds like an acoustic version.
@@UrobourosZero Yeah that song is called Old Metal Gear, which is a blues/jazz rendition of the song with a electric guitar that sounds faintly like an acoustic one. Or maybe its filtered to sound like that.
Doesn't it also play during the final boss battle in MGS4? Or is my memory playing tricks on me?
I played this game so many times from 2001 (it was my first ps2 game) to ps3 with the remaster... And still I learn new things like the conversation while Raiden is looking at the toilet. This game is amazing.
You know the name "deep throat" is actually referencing the informant from the Watergate scandle. The person who took on Nixon and caused his resignation. I still loved the video keep it up!

You’re wrong about the MGS Main Theme In MGS4 and Pushkin’s Garland. The track can actually be heard at least twice in the game (once during the final boss battle cutscene where Liquid-Ocelot and Snake are fighting and also during the first credits scene before big boss shows up)
That's not the theme he's referring to. That version of the theme was the motif that was unique to the composition that Harry Gregson Williams did for MGS3. It's not the same motif used for MGS1 and MGS2 that was accused of plagiarism. A portion of the MGS1&2 motif was integrated into MGS3's end credits though and in Granin's office.
Wow this is an amazing compilation. I have replayed MGS 2 more than any game, and those bonus codec conversations are REALLY surprising.

I thought i had seen every in this game. Never knew you could stare at Emma through the window 🤣 i assumed she was chilling in the locker. 22 years later i find this out.
Lol there is so much more , let's get started tanker, underneath the guy with the bonaculares at the beginning of the game to the right you will find diasapan , grab them then equip them and call otacon then take them and call him back. After the Olga fight look at her in first person and then call otacon, also shooter afterwards and answer otacons call , hold one the there is a guy in the front row of the projection screen without pants take photo of him and send to otacon. ( it's easier to get a clear shot of him by getting and using the stealth camo and taking the picture directly in front of him ) hold 2 switch the projectors and then take a close (but not to close ) picture of the screen you turned it to , and then send it to otacon. Back to the first hold to the far left there is a hatch press the action botton to open it and then go down the small ladder to crawl your way threw the first and second holds. Once you climb up the ladder don't go straight down pole , instead quickly pull out your camera and look to your left take a photo send to otacon, ( if you're able to get both the perjector one, and that one right , otacon will mention needing holy water, that is if you send both at the same time ). Plant , call snake while in the ladies bathroom, also call him after getting a card board box ., also call him and cornel after getting the BDU , the room with the hostages, to your left there is a girl hostage that looks deferent then the other female hostages ask her if she's aimes . During the solidous ,ocelot ,and Olga conversation, point the mic to the left were it says labatory , after rescuing Emma ( and the two long conversation ) call snake . Also after the two of you are out of shell two and on the bridge were you to use the coolant, call snake and I personally believe that that conversation is the one right before the second Olga fight . The oil fence, when Emma gets behind the first column point the directional mic over there and then after words call her, then point the mic agaim the moment she gets behind the second column . Aresanal, you missed a few good crazy cornels , there's one , that mentions how he needs siccors sixty-one , and there is another mentioning how he's eating and another wich mentions how he can't come to the phone right now, ( both have to be done during the metal gear fight ) also if you have a magazine left after the first fight with solidouses men in that little room , put a magazine down in front of snake then go in first person. And oh back to the hostage room , if you nock out the guy, or guys depending on what difficulty you are on, you get a funny radio conversation between the guard and the radio guy , also if you punch some of the hostages then ask them if their aimes they piss their pants, do it enough times and cornel and rose will call, and yell at you, samething goes if you use the pistol or any of the other guns on the seagulls.
Also in the tanker, after you take out the Semtex don't shoot the guard walking down the corridor, in stead quickly go to the last room little room on the right and flatten snake against the wall and then peak when the guard is about to pass it.
Wow, there's still SO MUCH I haven't seen in this game even after playing it dozens of times over the years! Awesome video, thanks for creating this!
MGS2 is my favorite game of all time, what i like about it is how deep layered the game's story is constructed, it's really one of a kind and you can't do something like it anymore, from the first trailer of the game you the player or soon to be, are being played (like a damn fiddle :D ) all that servers the narrative about information control and the selection of it and what to be believed as absolute truth, there is so much more i can't list all here or it will be an essay, but for example there is a difference between the tanker and the plant codec "soundbars", in the tanker the codec is the same as mgs1 but in the plant section the codec soundbars are shaped like a gun pointing at Raiden, it's symbolizes that the Colonel (the AI ) is basically holding Raiden hostage.

Yes he's in this one , but he is a hidden easter egg, well two of them to be more persist. In the conversation between, solidous, Olga , and ocelot point the mic to the left and you can hear him in the bathroom talking to himself . And when your snipping for Emma point the mic once she gets behind the second column.

About the projectors in the Tanker holds, if you look at the screen while there is about two minutes left on the timer, you can actually see the GRU soldiers preparing their ambush. Took so many years to find that out.
Takes me back to my childhood hood. I recently bought it for ps5 can’t wait til snake eater is out! Another game I love to see brought back! Darken: The Ancient Gates! Such a beautiful game

The sheer amount of dialogue and small pieces of content that seem inconsequential on their own but add so much depth to the game.

I spent soooo much time with the codec in ... all the games. It's crazy how much is completely missable if you don't. Also, did you know that if you use the directional microphone on Emma when she's crossing the bridge you'll hear what SHE's thinking too? Particularly with how Raiden was holding her hand, and what his hair looks like.

What you said isn't true. You Can hear it in MGS3 in his main theme and in MGS4 (titled Metal Gear Saga)
Only Peace Walker and V doesn't have this theme.

I swear MGS3 was the last game to have it. I remember being slightly disappointed Metal Gear Saga only had the revised theme, even in the quiet part.
I grew up at 5 years old or so playing this game seeing the posters lol.

I didn't knew about Mei Ling's call, these games are the gifts that keep on giving. Bet Otacon had some of the picture you took of her in the VR missions of MGS 1.
I don't remember that fact at 06:25, that dropping from the hang to a lower hanging level counts as 10 pull ups! That is awesome! I remember training Snake's grip on the tablet as soon as it was possible. Like I said, I literally don't remember this little secret, so I can't remember if I knew this at the time or not when I played back in 2003 or so. But it's likely I didn't know, which is crazy, learning things about a decade's old game! I wish I could go back and play it again- I have no consoles right now sadly.
And holy shit- Rose and Jack!!! It surprised I missed that tbh because Titanic would be the last thing on my mind when playing this game! Madness!
Its dirt cheap to find a ps2 copy. Also 2nd hand ps2's can be bought for very cheap. You can also get a pc version or emulate the ps2 version on your pc. The ps3 HD remaster can also be brought for very cheap. Now they are releasing the HD collections for Nintendo switch and ps4 and ps5 pc and xbox in a few days. You should play it again and relive those memories I'm jealous I wish I could play it again for the first time
it's funny about the pointing the directional mic at the bird thing; because i came up with that on my own never hearing about it before.
Played them all and tbh MGS 1 on PS1 made the biggest impression on me from the whole series. Lost count how many times I finished it.
The one secret about the music being copywritten, was new to me , and i know a lot about this game :) impressive!
I'm really hoping we get a top 10 countdown for the rest of the series of Metal Gear and Tomb Taider series. These top ten facts are always fun to watch. Maybe one day we can even get a top 25 or 50 countdown of Snake and Ocelot
I’ll never forget I was turning 8 or 9 years old and we were really poor. So my mom was telling me not to expect much for my birthday but we would just have a small get together at home and have a cake. She surprised me after the cake with a PS2 and this game. I started legitimately crying I was so happy I never thought I’d get a ps2

my all favorite game,, been playing on my PS2 and my PC.. either the Plain "Sons of Liberty" or with the extra feature "Substance",, never get tired of this game. 2nd fave is Guns of the Patriot, 3rd wil PP,, they are all Kojima Masterpiece.

back in 2000 MGS2 and GT3 especially blew my mind. These game set my benchmark for any other game almost.
I remember the first time the trailer for this game came out at E3, and the whole world went nuts. Back then it was pretty cutting edge for the PS2 era.
Except we all thought we'd be able to play as Snake again.
2020 and I'm still learning things I didn't know about this game.

Ahhh you didn't cover emma talking to Jonney when she's walking right before vamp gets her,..when she's out of site behind one of the structures keep the microphone pointed towards her and say hi to Jonney, I personally found that when first playing and thought it was so cool.. and when over hearing ocelots conversation when your in disguise as a guard with the microphone you can turn and hear jonney through the wall instead
One of my favorite codec calls is when you’re playing as snake in the first part of the game and you hide in a locker, you can call otacon and they reference how the first time they met it was otacon being inside a locker and how now snake is in the locker instead, then snake makes a joke and says “at least I didn’t wet myself”. It’s such a funny reference to metal gear solid for the ps1

So, on the downside, we lost that amazing music on the threat of it being plagiarized and never got to hear it again. On the upside, it forced them to make "Snake Eater" for the next game. What a thrill.
Just found my ps vita in storage booted it right up and started playing mgs2. I forget how great thus game is. 2022 and still holds up.
Years later & I still want to play the tanker escape segment.

About the pigiarized song, you can search for mgs3 "Old metal Gear theme" wich is the MGS Theme in surf music version. Pretty good BTW.

Actually, the mgs2 main theme you mentioned to never be used in future mg games, is pretty similar to mgs3 main theme

Probably the perviest thing is the game is the camera shennanigans with the hostage Jennifer. She's sitting on the ground with her knees spread, so you can crawl under the desk opposite and try to get an upskirt, but she will close her knees quickly when you attempt this. However, if you shoot her with the tranq gun, she will fall asleep with her legs wide open (there's really nothing there). Call the colonel while staring for some hilarious fun.

You actually do here the main theme of MGS for 3 and 4, they are just heavily edited and sped up or sped down. The Eva debrief has the MGS theme motif play during the boss’s mission being revealed. MGS4 has it during the credits but very briefly before it changes, it’s also in the OST release of 4. MGSV is the only MGS that never uses the MGS theme at all outside of an Easter egg
