Never smelled Joy, but definitely heard of it because at one point it was said to be the most expensive perfume in the world and allegedly worn by Queen Elizabeth.

Congratulations sir, you're one of the very, VERY few perfume TH-camrs worth watching these days in my opinion, so very well deserved! I can relate about the woes of being an author. My fifth non-fiction book is being published this December, but non-fiction is so much easier to hand over to editors and publishers than fiction, so much less personal. I have a single fiction novel that I've written but frankly, I'm far too afraid to put it out there, knowing that it will likely be knocked back for eternity haha! Anyway, best of luck with your writing and for your channel going forwards. I look forward to many more of your vids, thanks for all your time and knowledge!

With Autumn upon us I have recently started discovering warm Cognac/whiskey/tobacco scents. Some of these have included Dior’s Tobacolor, Memo’s recently released Retba, Parfum de Marly’s Herod and Carlisle,
18.21’s Tobacco and Killian’s Angel’s Share. Before I pull the trigger are there any others that I should be considering? Thank you.

Could you do a video on opulent “perfumey” perfumes? Although I love niche perfumes, I find many concentrate on one note. I love opulent smelling perfumes that I find are usually so well blended that you can’t really pick out obvious notes, end ends up smelling “perfumey”. I’m thinking of the 90s style of perfumery, or something like Chanel Coco edp.
A very good point. Mind you, I'm not sure I'd use the word opulent. I'd probably say abstract, as opposed to figurative. But yes, modern perfumes tend to move away from abstraction.
@@Persolaise yes, I’m not thinking that all these types are opulent, but many opulent ones seem to have this characteristic - if that makes sense

Mugler Hot Cologne is the first one that comes to mind.
No, no, no.... so don't agree with the comment with regards to Joy by Jean Patou. This stunning perfume represents my earliest scent memory, around the age of nine. My mother used to wear this perfume throughout the 1970's and I used to sneak into her bedroom to smell it. Perhaps you just have to be a certain age to remember/know this gem. Loving your content too by the way 😊

Gosh, that takes me back.
I heard Joy perfume went out of Production Persolaise! They dropped the Jean web site......Jean patous is no longer in production...That is the feeling i have about a lot of company's. I am in fear a lot of them are in trouble....So for me i am getting the ones i cherish the most because either they are going to gone! or to expensive to buy.....Just my opinion..

I am always fascinated with ho naive/ecited about FK being the ne perfumer for Dior. You all forget to a simple thing about it. LVMH holds Dior balls in their hands... and the asian market is their focus... ($$$) So lower your expectations.... evven better have none, this would give room to be surprised.

So happy for you Dariush Jaan!!!! Here's to 100K, simply b/c you can get there effortlessly; just be your wonderful authentic self. My aunt brought Jean Patou's Joy to my mom (from US where she lived) for her birthday, in the mid '70s. I took it to school and dropped and broke it in my class. Needless to say, my class smelled insane for weeks, my teachers did not appreciate the lingering heady jasmine, and my mother did not speak to me for weeks. 👏 👏
