My mom is Brazilian and one of my earliest memories is being told my brother and I smelled like "frango loco" (literally crazy chicken) after we had been playing, meaning we were stinky. We were doused in deocolognes very early on. My whole life wearing perfume has been like wearing deoderant or even clothes; required to be decent. In adulthood it became many of the things you describe. As important as color to my eyes, smell is a way to navigate, remember, and love this world. I will be reading your article!

Awesome topic! I think that many people today wear fragrance in the spirit of rebellion and mischief. In our sterile, politically-correct culture, perfume is frowned upon. Wearing it seems to annoy people and that brings a certain delight.
That may well be another reason.

Included in all the reasons for wearing fragrance, I happen to be a jeweler by trade. I select my pieces of jewelry I wear daily with great care. My perfume is my final piece of jewelry I use to finish my look.

Hello. I haven't checked in for a bit. I am curious if you'd be willing to do a jpg classique bottle breakdown? I have more trouble figuring out batch codes and eras and discontinuations with classique! So frustrating. It seems right up your alley. Also parfum styles as I have purchased 3 of those alone and still confused! Fragrantica only has bare minimum of what's to know. You are the best at this type of smackdown. Please?.thanks.

@@Persolaise not really batch codes as much as what bottles are from what years; when debut and when retired..so confusing. Also I know you are a parfum guy so why no jpg parfums,? Nothing of dune in your dior video!? Help.

@@Persolaise Spurdogs are slender sharks named after the venomous spines found in front of their dorsal fins that are used on predators, according to Wildlife Trusts. If a spurdog injects its venom into a human it can cause severe swelling and pain. The sharks have long been vulnerable to extinction due to overfishing.

The simple answer to your question is that I don’t make a living in the perfume world. My main job is in the education sector and has nothing to do with perfume. Perfume writing, blogging, vlogging etc does not earn me a substantial income, I’m afraid.
