Loosening the axle nut in this fashion is a bad idea - (Using a pry bar in between the wheel lug studs) - you risk bending the studs. Yes it can be done. I've bent mine following this exact video on my civic. My axle nut was extremely tough to remove. Do not tell your viewers to loosen the axle nut this way without first letting them know if the nut is difficult its advisable to re install the rim/ wheel and use leverage by placing the tire back against the ground somewhat - or else use the prybar in between the empty spaces in the rim and your undercarriage subframe. Why dont you want to bend your wheel studs? Well; the slight bends will throw off how your caliper and wheel set against the hub assembly and create an ever so slight wobble that ends up being felt at highway speeds, and will - pretty quickly - warp your rotors. I know, I've warped 3 sets of rotors before I figured out following this video was my issue.

and guess what (something no one ever mentions) . If the bearings, breaks, calipers,, etc are bad on one side, the ones on the other side should be replaced too, Don't be cheap, it could cost you later
Not always. Hondas are notorious for having the front drivers side bearing going out. They go out from 20,000 to 80,000. Few make it past 80,000. I've no idea why it's just the front drivers side wheel bearing.

Halfway through the job, I am going to pull the axle to facilitate replacing the knock sensor.
Do I have to torque it to a specific setting or will anything do. And how do I tell which side is the ABS sensor
The and sensor side of the bearing will be magnetic.
The only thing that needs to be torqued accurately is the axil nut
Great how to for people who have a mechanic shop😂 this is irrelevant for the common cheap garage job that most are looking for on TH-cam
Loosening the axle nut in this fashion is a bad idea - (Using a pry bar in between the wheel lug studs) - you risk bending the studs. Yes it can be done.
This was a great video. I have to replace my front driver side bearing on my 2005 civic EX. I think My car has ABS. Do you guys carry the specific Hub and Bearing kit for a 2005 Civic Ex?
+Connor Johnson Here is a link to the wheel bearing and hub kit for your Civic. Hope this helps you out goo.gl/FhFZeW

I'm really jealous at how little rust is on that car.
Why doesn’t anyone sell the knuckle-bearing-hub as one assembly so people don’t have to bother with pressing bearings in and out?
They are available.
I did not know 05 civic had full self driving with telephatic steering, without the need for tie rods
Gotta have the press...

Auto parts store rental tool. Money refunded upon tool return.
I am surprised you don't mention to pack the bearings with grease.
They're sealed bearing. You can't pack them.
Thanks a lot!
+Lord Znehlrak You're welcome.
and guess what (something no one ever mentions) .
I know damn well nobody orders from 1800 auto 😂
Great. Thanks guys!
So I should be done in under 15 minutes then? lol

What ever happened to this guy? I miss him.
Dammnit why didnt honda use at 1 piece hub
Never hit the threads why would you show that in a video
Wait can't I just go to junk yard and get the whole thing lol not having to press anything
+Valerie Sherman Great question! You may be able to find the whole assembly at a junk yard, so you would not need to press anything together.
wait a sec my civic got drum brakes
What a shitty design! This is why you couldn't give me a Honda! I'm making my son sale this POS asap!
Here's how to replace brand new parts with brand new parts. C'mon, man.
+Guy the Cooking Sam Sometimes we create videos just to show our customers the installation process (even when the parts are fine). Thanks for watching.
@@1AAuto I always search your videos first. Then go fight with rusty nuts and bolts on my Michigan vehicles. Keep up the good work!

Y'all do it some slow ways. Using air is much faster. Yeah let's brake the lugs loose by hand and finished them off with our half inch pneumatic gun smh
