The first time i heard of a mourneblade in shadowlands is cutscene with the Jailer and the Runecarver when you turn in 15 memories to the runecarver, any reason not to inculde that tidbit? Did it not fit in?
Don't think it's gonna work as well this time. By the time Arthas got Frostmourne, he was already willing to turn on his own men and commit unspeakable atrocities. Anduin hasn't budged an inch in his morality, heck he's even getting Sylvanas to hesitate. At this stage even if the Jailer also forges a new Helm to control Anduin, hands him the new Shalamourne, Anduin won't be as effective as Arthas. His spirit (which is obviously pretty beloved by the Light) will be railing against the Jailer's control the whole way.

I called this ending two years ago and I was dying at the time. Blizzard should just pay me for my bad ideas and they would be able to cut their writing staff to maybe three people. The development team is just loving the WoTLK references this expansion. Or rather anything Arthas related. I guess it started back in BFA when Anduin enters Lordaeron like Arthas did in the cinematic.

I find her story to be more of a tragedy than anything else. I draw the tragic comparison between Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader to Sylvannas Windrunner / The Banshee Queen. The question is thought is their any road to redemption for her.

To resume : Sylvanas and the Jailer are to emo teen that feel the daily injustice of the world and Sylvanas thinks that the Jailer can free everyone, despite of his name. Am I right?
And somwhere in the Maw lurks Arthas... Very angry at Jailer who made him destroy everything he loved and held dear. Plus Khel'Tuzad that is 100% loyal to Arthas not Jailor. It's really hard to fck up this story... but Activision Blizzard still can fck it up

Tune in to the next episode where Anduin takes the Mourneblade and goes shadowform. Jailer deserves to win. Sylvanas can trip on a stick. Jaina shares a kiss with Arthas as they fly through the maw, then Illidan shoots down with Sargeras as an ally as he pulls his sword out of Azeroth to fight against the jailer in the Twisting Nether before the titans attempt to shatter the space continuum and all laws of life and death allowing all former dead characters to return as we enter a new age of Warcraft. Shalamourne is almost as a teeny overdesigned piece of shit as the Assbinger was though. The Froutmourne was elaborately decorated and badass without looking like an impractical bionicles' ripoff.
Would like to know where Garrosh is. I assume after the milking was enough to satisfy the anima sent to the Maw, Denathrius probably cast him in there. That or he was in Nathria’s basement and we forgot to check. Oops!
Arthas was thrown into the Maw by Uther during one of the shorts that Blizzard made. And Garrosh is currently hardly more than a milking (anima) cow for Denathrius.

Anduin was 18 at the start of Legion. It seems many players still seem him as the little tot in short pants. Like Sylvanas, they underestimate this warrior priest. Varian and Anduin became more alike as the years passed. The son taught his father temperance but acquired his father's resolve. Where Varian sometimes charged in, Anduin thinks it through. And we see in this contest of will between Anduin and Sylvanas that he is not the least persuaded while Sylvanas abandons the effort struggling to mask her doubts.
Sylvanas wants to: A - prove that even the most heroic person can be corrupted. If goody two shoes Anduin can fall, then her own downfall was inevitable B - shift responsibility of her evil choices by claiming her inevitable corruption took her free will C - justify her hard luck life. the cosmic forces made life/afterlife unfair, and she will be the revolutionary to fix the broken system
Tries to bring better people down to her level. Check Shifts responsibility for her actions on others. Check Fights against a system she perceives as unfair. Check Sylvanas sounds like a feminist to me.
@@bakshev always was one. She is basically the (now caaareful here since Tube loves deleting such spicy comments for “bad” words) so... she is the “leaf winger” caricature. But Blizz who are all leafties themselves see that as a GOOD thing. I don't know how but these cinematic always give me the chills. And the last edit with Arthas and Sylvanas in the same pose. God damn it hit me so hard.
I honestly like where Sylvanas is heading. She has those Evangelionesque hopes for world shaping that would erase her pain, but she's too damaged to understand that all her plans, all her actions are only making things worst.
The least I can say is I definitely prefer THIS Sylvanas over the one we had to bear with throughout BFA. She's still done a lot of unforgivable things like burn some tree full of elves but hey, she's got a new outfit now! And her dialogue seems to have improved over: "I'm better, you are ALL NOTHING".

You lead the horde to victory in legion.. peoples still hate you.. Both your sisters hate you.. one of them even chosed to become a monster and STILL judge you when if you remember.. Sylvanas holded to Alleria necklace. Even in death she could not let go yet both just spat on her for being the Banshee queen outside of your will.. Id be freaking salty too mate. You know your peoples will slowly die out and you will eventually be chased as the monster you are (not even your choice compared to alleria).. Try to play cool and accept that the forsaken meet their living relatives even if you know the pain too well yourself of being turnt back... see that some of her peoples chose to leave her side because of this menenthil brat who share the blood of the bastard who stole her soul in the first place and now the same blood steal the only thing you have that look like a family.. Sure it selfish and they were free to leave. But she did care about them. She seen them like her family (The forsakens did love her in return. she did make SURE they were always safe and respected in a world where everyone see them as monsters). Burn the tree and chase every last elves off northen Kalimdor.. raise the elves.. Exige from the Blood elves and Forsakens to walk south to Stormwind while id set full sail from Azshara (orgrimar extension tbh) backed by a giant Goblin canon and the west coast of Kalimdor being secured. right into SW streets by the harbor.. Sw would be filled with fresh bodies even before the alliance could react to Anduin death in Arathi.., With that Menenthil idiot chained to the throne while id set fire to Stormwind and raise the whole place in front of her eyes to make her understand what it is to have a first row ticket to see all you ever love burn and be partialy the reason for it... That where anduin come in luckily ^^ The alliance could have felt.. she wasent going for it at all. She has a hint of faith for Anduin and always had. Sure she did terrible things and made things ''worst''. But at which point is she suposed to act like a happy little banshee when about 80% of the world would spit on her grave if they had the chance even tho SHE DID risk her ''life'' more than most horde leaders to lead the horde to victory since vanilla.. At which point is it suposed to be ok to be like.. ''Aight F the mortals, Ill be a monster no matter what for them anyway''... Beside someone who go purely ''evil'' dont call the king of stormwind ''little lion'' as both a mockery and as respect for the Lion of stormwind. That she did respect and fought side by side with when the world was going in flame.. She never wished for his death and deep down prolly feel bad about it. If she was evil Anduin would already be dead since the Arathi events ^^. I mean.. it hard to take Anduin seriously when you are a thousands years old banshee elves ranger general who has seen empire rise and burn, alliances forged and brokens, great mans who were ten times what Anduin is die and be forgotten just to face a 20 years old who play the virtuous warrior in front of you. Of course Anduin kinda amuse her. Yet she has respect for the boy Iron will and it easy to see she is simply troubled because it remind her of herself before she lost that so said HOPE. It easy to judge good and evil from the outside. Truth is nothing is really black or white.
Sylvanas cant be redeemed because her actions are motivated by something fundamentally incorrect: Warcraft is not a deterministic Universe. if you need proof: Nozdomu exists and is able to do his job. But why Sylvanas became the monster everyone saw is really sad. Veressa rejected her because, as the racial leader of the alliance loyalists whom are also the majority of the high elven aristocracy, her perspective on Quel'thalas is that Sylvanas has time and again betrayed Veressa personally by siding with President Handsome, and inducting Quel Thalas into the Horde. Where as Sylvanas is trying to support and protect Quel'thalas as effectively as she can. The one moment where Veressa finally was trying to see Sylvanas and not the Banshee Queen, Veressa was convinced by Anduin to continue raising her twin sons, only for about a year later for Sylvanas to accept the title of Warchief during the Third Invasion. The fact is, Veressa has always viewed Sylvanas the Banshee Queen as her enemy, because she has generally rejected maintaining an intimate familiarity with Quel'thalas' strategic and political situation since the birth of her sons just before the destruction of Dalaran during The Third War. She became the Ranger General of the Silver Covenant because of her husband's very definite position as "First Archmage of The Six" when Dalaran was finally rebuilt around the War of the Shifting Sands, when President Handsome exiled the Alliance loyalists from Quel'thalas. So Veressa becomes a minor power within the Alliance essentially at the head of a faction who will go any lengths to smear Sylvanas and President Handsome. Its only when she talks to Sylvanas directly a literal decade later does she learn that Sylvanas cares for her, in the family way. And then a year later Sylvanas is appointed Warchief, and Veressa cant seem to rectify the fact that her sister is a major military and political leader, who has a nasty and very definitely lethal habit of leading from the front, took the mantle of her family's greatest enemy. Despite the fact there are Star destroyers floating above her head and destroying all of civilization she can see. And then Veressa Joins the Argus Offensive, and meets Aleria where as Sylvanas and Veressa is really sad, Aleria is very simple in why she hates Sylvanas: Aleria is completely unrecognizable as an elf socially, culturally, or even really physiologically when she is found. Shes seen hundreds of worlds die, millions of people executed, and she rejected her mortality to fight the Legion. While she remembers her home, her son, and her sisters, they are moreso facts to her when she meets up with Veressa, not experiences, and Veressa who isnt really politically minded despite being the crown princess of Quel'thalas due to natural selection is the one who catches up Aleria on current events. But Aleria is a lightforged, and later a hentai elf, who has fought an unwinnable war for 1000 years. The Horde that she fought was little more then an element of The Legion shes fought for 3 lifetimes, and survival is so far the best possible result of any campaign shes participated in. Veressa telling her that Sylvanas is now the Warchief is to her a complete betrayal without any viable justification. Whatever that is may wear the face of her sister, but it is a Demon that must be slain. When all Sylvanas was trying to do is live up to the Aleria that was second through a portal into what they grew up being told hell was. All Sylvanas wanted that day in Ghostlands was to go Home. Maybe even set up a grave for herself and Aleria and have some ironic Eulogizing from Veressa. and some Hugs and or sisterly love.

Dude I feel so bad for Bolvar. Dude makes a huge sacrifice by becoming the lich king just to end up getting his ass kicked like he was nothing. And now he has to further risk himself by looking into tourghast possibly putting his life at risk and literally nobody gives a fuck. Even his own daughter doesn't give a fuck she just wants him to look into the helm no matter the cost.

I doubt it. Arthas can be easily distracted and consumed due to his "chaotic" nature. His only wish is to defend his people no matter what. That's why he's easily persuaded by Frostmourn. But for Anduin, it's different. The boy is deeply seep within the Light. Calia confirm that. It will not easy to bend his mind to Jailor's will. And not to mention his hope, his loyal, his friend. Anduin is surrounded by a good people who love him deeply. That love will give him power to overcome the Jailor's whose filled only with hatred toward the living. The only love Arthas considered halting his mind for his achievement is love toward Jaina. But for Anduin, he considered everybody else's love and reasons, and try to compromise with it to achieve his result. His father and family (Varian, Jaina), his friends (Baine, Thrall), his enemies (Syvanas), Anduin considered them all. A great mind, and a true priest indeed. Anduin is a great leader. But Arthas is the best main protagonist for me (because you need a perfect badass prince with a cool character for a wise charming princess). 🥰
@steve yakuza Agree. Desperate times calls for desperate measure. Arthas done what it needs to be done at that time. I respect him. If only Jaina don't give up with him all the ways, she would've discover how to regain his mind (as we do, which is shatter the blade).
I honestly want to see Arthas. I want him to be the Lich King, or even better, perhaps replace the Jailer or something. There is a reason why he’s the greatest lore character Blizzard has. They need to use him. And I’m surprised Anduin didn’t say something along the lines of this “Well, if you do this, you’re no different than Arthas.” Pretty sure that would break her. But still, something needs to be done with Arthas. They did so much on his character in WOTLK they’ve basically made him immortal. Heck, make him fight the void lords or something. Do something legendary with this guy.

And not only is sylvanas mirroring arthas, she also turned tyrande into another version of herself as vengeful as she was towards arthas,tyrande mirrors this exact situation. Sylvanas= Lich King Mirror (Blade Pointing References, but opposite of arthas, damned and corrupted with a hint of light) Anduin = Arthas Mirror Image (Paladin/Light) Tyrande = Sylvanas Mirror (Vengeful for slaughter of her people)
I think Tyrande is a reflection of Arthas in this storyline. She risks everthing she has in order to claim vengeance. And she chases the one who set her homeland to flame. Sylvanas didn't have to chase Arthas, plus she fled when Kel'Thuzad came to his king's rescue. On the other hand, Arthas had never thought of escaping even when the conditions were clearly favorable for Mal'Ganis. Arthas did what was necessary to kill Mal'Ganis. Sorry for my poor English
Sylvanas is attempting to avoid becoming exactly like the Lich King and finds herself hesitating to carry out her master's dark designs. She's almost fully fallen down the dark path that Arthas/the Lich King took but she hesitates to take that final step towards becoming exactly like the man who made her Undead. Despite her many crimes, Sylvanas seems to have some small shred of her Ranger General self inside her darkened soul that keeps her from going off the deep end completely. It sounds identical to how Arthas's good self kept the Lich King from going fully off the deep end.
She really cant decide what to do...she goes from getting revenge..gets butthurt about not getting a clean death in combat..now becomes what she hated most! Ah ladies ladies its alright now.

So, basically, the Shadowlands plot is about a mass murderer and war criminal trying to avoid punishment in the afterlife by destroying afterlife itself.
You know it dawned on me. Time moves very differently in the shadowlands. It seems like everyone whose been in there has been gone for months or maybe even years (blizzard is careful not to say) so how long has he been standing in that circle?
@@juanmiguelmoreno5598 I'm assuming a small time skip, like we've only been gone a month are so, cause from the first time we entered the maw anduin bane and thrall had been there for months or longer. Cause time moves faster in the shadowlands than on Azeroth.
If you think about it it was the jailer who didn't give her a choice because he was speaking to Arthas and told him what to do. So in essence he told Arthas to make Sylvanas a banshee

Called it. Sylvanas forces herself to believe she's a heartless monster because dwelling on what she actually is only makes her suffer. Saw that coming since the Three Sisters comic.
Sylvanas is going to be the next Lich King or Queen if you want. The scourge is currently wreacking havoc on Azeroth without a "king" to hold them in place. Vol'Jin saw this in his vision before he made her Warchief. This is after Shadowlands and the next expansion is starting.
interesting how we can cut connect almost everything together by expansions now. bfa had a deep connection to vanilla wow with the focus on horde vs alliance and the old gods. leagion had a connection with burning crusade illiden and the legion. now shadowlands with wrath. so can we finally have a expansion that addresses the fact that the dragons are slowly dyeing with deathwing gone?
So I'm up to date on all of the campaign quests and such, but I have never seen the cutscene at 3:47 with the Jailer tearing into Bolvar's mind. When/where is it from?
Why does it seem like one of the patches is going to end in the alliance losing yet another leader. I mean they lost mechatorque (to some degree with him still being on ice) they lost Varian. By comparison the horde has only lost Vol'jin and you can't mention rastakhan because we already knew he wasn't going to be a leader for the horde.
i dont playe wow sence TBC on retail. but i played WOTLK on a lot of private server. and i LOVE warcraft 3 and frozen throne stories.. and watching your videos remind me of that. i love your videos. specialy cut scenes you make with other videos. i love it!
well now that she's got her own soul back and will most likely revert back to her high elf form i can guarantee you they are gonna bang and have half elf half human babees who will rule over the combined horde and alliance faction and all will be forgiven =)

Anduinn being the son of Arthas makes no sense Lore wise tho Blizzard is just spamming us with fanservice to call back to Arthas, and Anduinn fits the role because of his look, attitude, and affinity to the light ... And it's a fucking human, so yeah

I think this is kinda the same situation as the origin of the Ashbringer but in reverse. The orb/artifact the Ashbringer was originally made out of was one of insanly strong darkness. The light cannot exist without darkness and darkness can't exist without light. The stronger one is, its opposite is just as strong. The stronger the light, the larger the shadow it casts is. So basically every light and dark thing has an opposite version of itself if you flip the coin. Mograine and the founding members of the scarlet crusade and Argent Dawn managed to flip the darkness artifact by pouring almost all their light powers into it until it was flipped. Making it into a weapon of endless light, instead of endless darkness. Anduin is currently one of the strongest light users and symbols of hope in Azeroth. He managed to call the powers of the light within the very realms of death, he is one of the few people in the world that has actually performed a resurrection in the lore, his powers though still young can someday according to Velen even rival his own. Imagine if that power was flipped into the powers of darkness and death. Likewise his personality might flip, his great kindness turned into never ending cruelty. At just his base powers he might rival the Lich king. Not to mention his powers would be enhanced by the same instruments that gave the Lich king his powers. Anduin would truly become an unstoppable juggernaut that would rival most end game bosses we have encountered.

Hiya Folks! How many Mourneblade references should we put in this video? YES. But can we actually call it Shalamourne? Has a nifty ring to it.
Loved the references to the WoTLK Cinematic they did, if anyone caught on. We all know she’s not going to stab Anduin with it. They knew Bolvar & The Breakfast Club were watching. Then again, it would be neat to see Anduin’s shadowform at last.

The first time i heard of a mourneblade in shadowlands is cutscene with the Jailer and the Runecarver when you turn in 15 memories to the runecarver, any reason not to inculde that tidbit?

Don't think it's gonna work as well this time.
By the time Arthas got Frostmourne, he was already willing to turn on his own men and commit unspeakable atrocities. Anduin hasn't budged an inch in his morality, heck he's even getting Sylvanas to hesitate. At this stage even if the Jailer also forges a new Helm to control Anduin, hands him the new Shalamourne, Anduin won't be as effective as Arthas. His spirit (which is obviously pretty beloved by the Light) will be railing against the Jailer's control the whole way.

I called this ending two years ago and I was dying at the time. Blizzard should just pay me for my bad ideas and they would be able to cut their writing staff to maybe three people. The development team is just loving the WoTLK references this expansion. Or rather anything Arthas related. I guess it started back in BFA when Anduin enters Lordaeron like Arthas did in the cinematic.

Not into current lore but it seems more like greater freedom than greater good to me.
I find her story to be more of a tragedy than anything else. I draw the tragic comparison between Anakin Skywalker / Darth Vader to Sylvannas Windrunner / The Banshee Queen. The question is thought is their any road to redemption for her.

Tune in to the next episode where Anduin takes the Mourneblade and goes shadowform. Jailer deserves to win. Sylvanas can trip on a stick. Jaina shares a kiss with Arthas as they fly through the maw, then Illidan shoots down with Sargeras as an ally as he pulls his sword out of Azeroth to fight against the jailer in the Twisting Nether before the titans attempt to shatter the space continuum and all laws of life and death allowing all former dead characters to return as we enter a new age of Warcraft. Hail shrooms!

Shalamourne is almost as a teeny overdesigned piece of shit as the Assbinger was though. The Froutmourne was elaborately decorated and badass without looking like an impractical bionicles' ripoff.

Arthas was thrown into the Maw by Uther during one of the shorts that Blizzard made. And Garrosh is currently hardly more than a milking (anima) cow for Denathrius.

Anduin was 18 at the start of Legion. It seems many players still seem him as the little tot in short pants. Like Sylvanas, they underestimate this warrior priest. Varian and Anduin became more alike as the years passed. The son taught his father temperance but acquired his father's resolve. Where Varian sometimes charged in, Anduin thinks it through. And we see in this contest of will between Anduin and Sylvanas that he is not the least persuaded while Sylvanas abandons the effort struggling to mask her doubts.

C - justify her hard luck life. the cosmic forces made life/afterlife unfair, and she will be the revolutionary to fix the broken system

I honestly like where Sylvanas is heading. She has those Evangelionesque hopes for world shaping that would erase her pain, but she's too damaged to understand that all her plans, all her actions are only making things worst.
The least I can say is I definitely prefer THIS Sylvanas over the one we had to bear with throughout BFA. She's still done a lot of unforgivable things like burn some tree full of elves but hey, she's got a new outfit now! And her dialogue seems to have improved over: "I'm better, you are ALL NOTHING".

Try to play cool and accept that the forsaken meet their living relatives even if you know the pain too well yourself of being turnt back... see that some of her peoples chose to leave her side because of this menenthil brat who share the blood of the bastard who stole her soul in the first place and now the same blood steal the only thing you have that look like a family.. Sure it selfish and they were free to leave. But she did care about them. She seen them like her family (The forsakens did love her in return. she did make SURE they were always safe and respected in a world where everyone see them as monsters). Burn the tree and chase every last elves off northen Kalimdor.. raise the elves.. Exige from the Blood elves and Forsakens to walk south to Stormwind while id set full sail from Azshara (orgrimar extension tbh) backed by a giant Goblin canon and the west coast of Kalimdor being secured. right into SW streets by the harbor..
Sw would be filled with fresh bodies even before the alliance could react to Anduin death in Arathi.., With that Menenthil idiot chained to the throne while id set fire to Stormwind and raise the whole place in front of her eyes to make her understand what it is to have a first row ticket to see all you ever love burn and be partialy the reason for it... That where anduin come in luckily ^^ The alliance could have felt.. she wasent going for it at all. She has a hint of faith for Anduin and always had.

But at which point is she suposed to act like a happy little banshee when about 80% of the world would spit on her grave if they had the chance even tho SHE DID risk her ''life'' more than most horde leaders to lead the horde to victory since vanilla.. Beside someone who go purely ''evil'' dont call the king of stormwind ''little lion'' as both a mockery and as respect for the Lion of stormwind. That she did respect and fought side by side with when the world was going in flame.. She never wished for his death and deep down prolly feel bad about it. If she was evil Anduin would already be dead since the Arathi events ^^. I mean.. it hard to take Anduin seriously when you are a thousands years old banshee elves ranger general who has seen empire rise and burn, alliances forged and brokens, great mans who were ten times what Anduin is die and be forgotten just to face a 20 years old who play the virtuous warrior in front of you. Damn, am really hearing Arthas' line of "You are past redemption!" at the back of my head watching these vids.
Sylvanas cant be redeemed because her actions are motivated by something fundamentally incorrect: Warcraft is not a deterministic Universe. if you need proof: Nozdomu exists and is able to do his job.
But why Sylvanas became the monster everyone saw is really sad. Veressa rejected her because, as the racial leader of the alliance loyalists whom are also the majority of the high elven aristocracy, her perspective on Quel'thalas is that Sylvanas has time and again betrayed Veressa personally by siding with President Handsome, and inducting Quel Thalas into the Horde. Where as Sylvanas is trying to support and protect Quel'thalas as effectively as she can. The one moment where Veressa finally was trying to see Sylvanas and not the Banshee Queen, Veressa was convinced by Anduin to continue raising her twin sons, only for about a year later for Sylvanas to accept the title of Warchief during the Third Invasion.
The fact is, Veressa has always viewed Sylvanas the Banshee Queen as her enemy, because she has generally rejected maintaining an intimate familiarity with Quel'thalas' strategic and political situation since the birth of her sons just before the destruction of Dalaran during The Third War. She became the Ranger General of the Silver Covenant because of her husband's very definite position as "First Archmage of The Six" when Dalaran was finally rebuilt around the War of the Shifting Sands, when President Handsome exiled the Alliance loyalists from Quel'thalas.
So Veressa becomes a minor power within the Alliance essentially at the head of a faction who will go any lengths to smear Sylvanas and President Handsome. Its only when she talks to Sylvanas directly a literal decade later does she learn that Sylvanas cares for her, in the family way. And then a year later Sylvanas is appointed Warchief, and Veressa cant seem to rectify the fact that her sister is a major military and political leader, who has a nasty and very definitely lethal habit of leading from the front, took the mantle of her family's greatest enemy. Despite the fact there are Star destroyers floating above her head and destroying all of civilization she can see.
And then Veressa Joins the Argus Offensive, and meets Aleria
where as Sylvanas and Veressa is really sad, Aleria is very simple in why she hates Sylvanas: Aleria is completely unrecognizable as an elf socially, culturally, or even really physiologically when she is found. Shes seen hundreds of worlds die, millions of people executed, and she rejected her mortality to fight the Legion. While she remembers her home, her son, and her sisters, they are moreso facts to her when she meets up with Veressa, not experiences, and Veressa who isnt really politically minded despite being the crown princess of Quel'thalas due to natural selection is the one who catches up Aleria on current events.
But Aleria is a lightforged, and later a hentai elf, who has fought an unwinnable war for 1000 years. The Horde that she fought was little more then an element of The Legion shes fought for 3 lifetimes, and survival is so far the best possible result of any campaign shes participated in. Veressa telling her that Sylvanas is now the Warchief is to her a complete betrayal without any viable justification. Whatever that is may wear the face of her sister, but it is a Demon that must be slain.
When all Sylvanas was trying to do is live up to the Aleria that was second through a portal into what they grew up being told hell was.
All Sylvanas wanted that day in Ghostlands was to go Home. Maybe even set up a grave for herself and Aleria and have some ironic Eulogizing from Veressa. and some Hugs and or sisterly love.

Dude I feel so bad for Bolvar. Dude makes a huge sacrifice by becoming the lich king just to end up getting his ass kicked like he was nothing. And now he has to further risk himself by looking into tourghast possibly putting his life at risk and literally nobody gives a fuck. Even his own daughter doesn't give a fuck she just wants him to look into the helm no matter the cost.
In my head I imagined sylvanas breaking into song and singing "make a man out of you - from mulan" to anduin change a few words around obviously XD

I doubt it. Arthas can be easily distracted and consumed due to his "chaotic" nature. His only wish is to defend his people no matter what. That's why he's easily persuaded by Frostmourn.
But for Anduin, it's different. The boy is deeply seep within the Light. Calia confirm that. It will not easy to bend his mind to Jailor's will. And not to mention his hope, his loyal, his friend. Anduin is surrounded by a good people who love him deeply. That love will give him power to overcome the Jailor's whose filled only with hatred toward the living.
The only love Arthas considered halting his mind for his achievement is love toward Jaina. But for Anduin, he considered everybody else's love and reasons, and try to compromise with it to achieve his result. His father and family (Varian, Jaina), his friends (Baine, Thrall), his enemies (Syvanas), Anduin considered them all. A great mind, and a true priest indeed.
Anduin is a great leader. But Arthas is the best main protagonist for me (because you need a perfect badass prince with a cool character for a wise charming princess). 🥰
@steve yakuza Agree. Desperate times calls for desperate measure. Arthas done what it needs to be done at that time. I respect him. If only Jaina don't give up with him all the ways, she would've discover how to regain his mind (as we do, which is shatter the blade).
I honestly want to see Arthas. I want him to be the Lich King, or even better, perhaps replace the Jailer or something. There is a reason why he’s the greatest lore character Blizzard has. They need to use him. And I’m surprised Anduin didn’t say something along the lines of this “Well, if you do this, you’re no different than Arthas.” Pretty sure that would break her. But still, something needs to be done with Arthas. They did so much on his character in WOTLK they’ve basically made him immortal. Heck, make him fight the void lords or something. Do something legendary with this guy.

And not only is sylvanas mirroring arthas, she also turned tyrande into another version of herself as vengeful as she was towards arthas,tyrande mirrors this exact situation.
Sylvanas= Lich King Mirror (Blade Pointing References, but opposite of arthas, damned and corrupted with a hint of light)
Anduin = Arthas Mirror Image (Paladin/Light)
Tyrande = Sylvanas Mirror (Vengeful for slaughter of her people)
An endless cycle, that goes beyond death. Easily one of the core pillars of the story at this point.
I think Tyrande is a reflection of Arthas in this storyline. She risks everthing she has in order to claim vengeance. And she chases the one who set her homeland to flame. Sylvanas didn't have to chase Arthas, plus she fled when Kel'Thuzad came to his king's rescue. On the other hand, Arthas had never thought of escaping even when the conditions were clearly favorable for Mal'Ganis. Arthas did what was necessary to kill Mal'Ganis. Sorry for my poor English
And one more thing: please compare Tyrande's jumping into the Maw with Arthas' first journey to Northrend. Maybe it will make my point more clear.

They've been calling back to Arthas story in almost every cinematic involving Anduin or Sylvanas since legion.
Sylvanas is attempting to avoid becoming exactly like the Lich King and finds herself hesitating to carry out her master's dark designs. She's almost fully fallen down the dark path that Arthas/the Lich King took but she hesitates to take that final step towards becoming exactly like the man who made her Undead.
Despite her many crimes, Sylvanas seems to have some small shred of her Ranger General self inside her darkened soul that keeps her from going off the deep end completely. It sounds identical to how Arthas's good self kept the Lich King from going fully off the deep end.

So, basically, the Shadowlands plot is about a mass murderer and war criminal trying to avoid punishment in the afterlife by destroying afterlife itself.
You know it dawned on me. Time moves very differently in the shadowlands. It seems like everyone whose been in there has been gone for months or maybe even years (blizzard is careful not to say) so how long has he been standing in that circle?
I'm guessing once the SL storyline is finished, there would be a time skip when we go back to Azeroth.

If you think about it it was the jailer who didn't give her a choice because he was speaking to Arthas and told him what to do. So in essence he told Arthas to make Sylvanas a banshee

Sylvanas is going to be the next Lich King or Queen if you want. The scourge is currently wreacking havoc on Azeroth without a "king" to hold them in place. Vol'Jin saw this in his vision before he made her Warchief. This is after Shadowlands and the next expansion is starting.
Yet they still use that shattered helm right at the heart of SL. You would think they'll move it somewhere else isolated and warded properly.

Why does it seem like one of the patches is going to end in the alliance losing yet another leader. I mean they lost mechatorque (to some degree with him still being on ice) they lost Varian. By comparison the horde has only lost Vol'jin and you can't mention rastakhan because we already knew he wasn't going to be a leader for the horde.

Can 100% see anduin actually being the son of arthas. With all the parallels between him and arthas in bfa not to mention how strong he is with tbe light when varian never was, and now his sword has been turned into a mournblade.
Cause Anduin was trained to be a priest and varian was trained to be a warrior king
As long as Anduin takes the Mourneblade and goes shadowform. Jailer deserves to win. Sylvanas can trip on a stick. Jaina shares a kiss with Arthas as they fly through the maw, then Illidan shoots down with Sargeras as an ally as he pulls his sword out of Azeroth to fight against the jailer in the Twisting Nether before the titans attempt to shatter the space continuum and all laws of life and death allowing all former dead characters to return as we enter a new age of Warcraft. Hail shrooms!

I think this is kinda the same situation as the origin of the Ashbringer but in reverse.
The orb/artifact the Ashbringer was originally made out of was one of insanly strong darkness.
The light cannot exist without darkness and darkness can't exist without light.
The stronger one is, its opposite is just as strong. The stronger the light, the larger the shadow it casts is.
So basically every light and dark thing has an opposite version of itself if you flip the coin.
Mograine and the founding members of the scarlet crusade and Argent Dawn managed to flip the darkness artifact by pouring almost all their light powers into it until it was flipped. Making it into a weapon of endless light, instead of endless darkness.
Anduin is currently one of the strongest light users and symbols of hope in Azeroth.
He managed to call the powers of the light within the very realms of death, he is one of the few people in the world that has actually performed a resurrection in the lore, his powers though still young can someday according to Velen even rival his own.
Imagine if that power was flipped into the powers of darkness and death. Likewise his personality might flip, his great kindness turned into never ending cruelty. At just his base powers he might rival the Lich king. Not to mention his powers would be enhanced by the same instruments that gave the Lich king his powers. Anduin would truly become an unstoppable juggernaut that would rival most end game bosses we have encountered.
