Next Chapter: th-cam.com/video/HJykdLVFMgA/w-d-xo.html (Calia, Tyrande, Anduin, Sylvanas Endings) Hiya Folks! A bit late on the upload as Molly had to undergo another operation for her Breast Cancer. It's been an ongoing struggle for all of us, but keeping up with WoW's lore and this channel is one of the things that help keep her fighting on. She's always glad to read and respond to your comments, so never hesitate to ask! This compiles the Shadowlands Epilogue with lovely voice acting and superb animation from the team in these in-game cutscenes, especially on the lip-synch. There are so many more interactions I hope we get before we depart from Shadowlands, with Lor'thermar and Kael'thas of course being at the top. The Windrunner sisters, Lirath, and many more interactions with potential. And also, Turalyon has those "Golden one claims a vacant throne vibes" lately, especially with Anduin staying behind. Time will tell. Hope to see many great days ahead for the Warcraft franchise, with love, always. More story to follow soon!
All my love and hugs for Molly. I went through it in 2010, it's hard to do. Hang in there, I've got the candle lit and prayers for her to come though on the other side. My husband also sends his prayers and energy for you and Molly, he stood by me while I was fighting and he was so much my rock during it. ((hugs)) from Texas.
10:48 "Every soul will be treated with compassion, and be given a voice in which afterlife awaits them" except for Arthas, he had to be destroyed with no chance for redemption
In the new book, The Jailer destroyed almost all remnant of his soul for being a thorn at his side. He ruined the dreadlords' plans and Ner'zhul failed in dominating him when Arthas donned the helm. (which is why Ner'zhul was severely punished in the Shadowlands) He would have had a chance of redemption, maybe, had Uther not damned him to the proverbial Hell.
I can't believe blizzard destroyed Arthas. Most people liked Arthas and they should have make him a frame like Actvision did to Ghost in "Call of Duty" since people like Ghost because of his character and Actvision decided to make more about Ghost, more features like frames, skin and interesting storyline and thats how COD got many sign up players while Blizzard killing WOW, many of the game features got destroyed.
@@misterbleedinggums So basically, Uther destroyed Arthas because it never occurred to him that Arthas's mind could've been warped and twisted somehow in Northrend. I guess what happened at Stratholme made Uther think that Arthas was evil so he didn't even give Arthas a chance to explain his actions like he should've and so Arthas has forever ceased to exist. If I was Terenas, I'd hate Uther forever for taking my son away from me forever. I just hope that Blizzard does something to bring Arthas's soul back one day. They could easily say that what we thought was the last fragment of Arthas's soul was actually the last part of the Lich King part of it and that the good part of Arthas's soul is still out there somewhere.
so an immortal beign is sent to a finite place to recover a finite amount of things and has all the time she needs to do so..... sylvanas has basically been given a weekly quest as punishment
She is left alone in a horrible Situation. This is a pretty agonizing penance especially for someone who's soul/mind is torn. The High Elven Part of her will both be regretful and dutiful while the Banshee Part will prolly analyse her actions over and over again. When everything around you gets silent your mind becomes even louder.
@@SomethingSimilar442 She'll literally be out in less than a decade (the next few expansions) after gathering some souls up, that's her penance for thousands dead, a civilian town burned down, plague, enslavement, betrayal, starting a new war, and disgusting super edginess, at her own admittance of her own free will. But sure, Arthas is evaporated forever, Garrosh dead, Illidan locked away for 10,000 years, but screw it, Sylvanas is hot and 'tragic' so lets just say a few daily quests is good enough punishment. Lol, Blizzard and her fans will never let go of their banshee cash cow xD
@@insaneyoohoo as if arthas wasnt a cash cow for...how many years again? you are just crying about it because the story was not very good in general, but dont use "cash cow" as an insult/pseudo argument, because every good, or famous, or popular character story etc you name it, IS or intends to be a cash cow, dont play dumb on that part, after all a company exists to profit, regardless of their ethic, so yeah dont forget that everything that was succesfull before sylvannas in wow was a cash cow or intended to be so, some people do like SL and do like sylvannas even now, tho surely a bit less than before, but again, that doesnt change reality
Calia Menethil and Lilian Voss have supposedly been working together since BFA's end on a future for the Undead. Maybe we'll see the fruits of their labor in Undercity now that Sylvanas is gone.
@@ForgottenSoul No, it's the undead who freed themselves from Lich King's control (like Sylvanas). They're a playable faction, less evil undead. A bit less evil.
"Everyone deserves a chance at redemption!" Genn & all the other Alliance boys: "None of this was your fault, you were being controlled!" Arthas: "am I a joke to you?"
But then again, at least we got to see Arthas make his appearance as a crystal and then a puffy cloud. Maybe if we find half of Arthas soul somewhere, he can get his redemption and then we can all wake up in N'zoth's carapace and forget this all happened.
@@Athelarius i just wanted to see my boy again :'c got into WoW in Wrath and i just want that feeling again, even if its only for a second, just let me see his face and hear that music one more time D:
im betting further down the line she will arrive at a leader meeting and speak of the new evils in the maw or some muttered bad tidings that cant be dismissed
The art team and VA department have been carrying this franchise for years. Now if only the story writing could match such excellence, Warcraft would be the number 1 franchise out there. So much potential, if only love & care could be applied in the writing.
@-The_ Emperor- Sylvanas was under zero obligation to the Jailer, no debt to be paid. She was given an option and she took it. Being second-in-command to a monster isn't an excuse to do horrific crimes because you're not at the very top of the command structure.
Given that her ranger soul was returned that’s why we see this new Sylvanas in-game. That and Uther had to negotiate between her torn soul in the previous Cinematics.
For everyone disappointed with Arthas' arc in this expansion: don't be. Yes, it was terrible, but think of it this way. They won't bring him back and so they can't ruin him even more.
Side note but I love Alleria and Vereesa’s nicknames for each other, “Lady Sun” and “Little Moon.” So cute! I wonder if they also have/had one for Sylvanas…?
Which, when you consider Sylvanas's nickname for Anduin... You really do start to see her humanity leaking through "Little Lion" Did she see him as a little brother? Because I'd personally love that.
Okay, the wind runner trio part was so amazing. Despite how they feel and what sylvannas has done, they never give the impression that they would ever turn they're backs on sylvannas nor cease any communication with her, the 2 sister make it out to be like they want sylvannas to come out of their memories and out of their pasts and into their future because that's what they want and that's so powerful. Elves are not like humans, they are much older and much wiser and just their culture shows how so much deeper relationships are to the elves as they've known each other for thousands of years and this small part demonstrated that.
Even having Arthas share one final talk with Uther and Jaina before fading into nothingness would’ve sufficed. Instead we got puffy, disenchanted Arthas.
@@IgorSalaj3578 Sylavanas is irredeamable villain. But instead they just let her atone for her sins and had her around them the entirety of last patch. Meanwhile Arthas, who really was full on controlled by Jailer while being LK just gets disenchanted with Sylavanas, out of people, talking shit over it happenin
@@Athelarius I was hoping for the same, but with this looks like they have wrapped up all the stories from the RTS. It's closure I wouldn't say good closure or the one I wanted, but closure
Every Night Fae covenant member watching Sylvanas be assigned the quest we've been doing all expansion....well if I knew she was gonna do it, I would've left it alone. O_o
Thirty Five copper says we pull her out of the maw next expansion to help out with the next big baddy. That and Sylvanas has a heavy exchange with Tyrande over who gets to keep the owl.
@@Athelarius HAHAHA the owl's like..."Tyrande, you signed me up to stay in this awful zone for an entire patch without asking first! and Sylvanas has done nothing but find souls and feed me soulfire-roasted mawrats. I'm staying with her for at least the next expac >:("
You know maybe showing Lirath in this expansion to all the sisters would have been a nice touch. But then again the shadowlands just does what it wants with the souls its given.
@@EliteRocketBear i know. I just didnt want to start a comment war. Hell they retconned the other brother out of existance. So much lore is ignored to male the square fit the circle hole.
The Windrunner reunion, Lirath, Lor’thermar and Kael’thas. Baine and Cairne. Anduin and Varian. Saurfang and Varok Jr. So many interactions we wish we had in SL. Still hopeful we get many of these as the wholesome conversations are the best part out of this expansion.
@@Athelarius Seriously! All we get for Anduin and Varian is a damn voice clip and a hand on his shoulder. You're in the damn afterlife and never once did the writers think to go, oh yeah! They can literally meet their lost loved ones. Hell we could and should have ran into saurfang and varian in the maw.
Thanks for posting it this way. I was one of the lucky ones whose game crashed right as Tyrande started to speak. When I logged back in. it was marked as Quest complete. I felt robbed.
The owl is like, "wow wow wow, wait what?, you sending me to the deepest depth just to watch over her!? why suddenly i got the same punishment as her except finding the lost souls???"
Crazy how I don't recognize this game anymore. Such weird storylines. When I was enjoying Legion with my friends, we all thought we were going to free Azeroth of Sargeras' sword and then venture into a war Light against Void as heroes of the planet who defeated the Burning Legion. Turns out we started playing war against the Horde again and turned sideways into the realm of the dead after that... At least this game was amazing. Oh and Athelarius, tons of prayers and positive energies for Molly. I'm not familiar with you guys or this channel, but I read your post and find you guys very brave!
The world and lore of Warcraft became a weird high fantasy chimera long before the Shadowlands but in this expansion the story reached new highs or rather lows, it is so convoluted, non sensical and it retcons so much that it is just a shell of it's former self now
She thanks you for your kind wishes. This channel is one of the things that helps keep her going, along with keeping up with WoW lore. In honesty though, after Legion, had high expectations for the WoW lore direction and BFA had a promising start. But then Nzoth was scrapped in a patch and then shadowlands turned out the way it did. Hoping next expansion is a ray of light.
@@Demicleas She's insn't a maw walker, so unless we go over there, bind our soul to her (so she can go through the portal of the First Ones) and activate the portal for her, she can't get out.
8:23 Lor'themar: Those who died are here. Is there anyone you would seek out? Me: I wanna speak with Arthas. Everyone: you can't, get over it. Me: I can't, the heart wants what the heart wants.
I really hope the intro will be done in the form of a cinematic or rendered cutscene. Would be great to see the expressions of everyone as she submits to Tyrande. With the facial animations they've got, it could be a much more impactful moment.
you forgot about the badass nightelfes we saw in wc3.. they've been put away for far too long and i dont suspect we will see a comeback soon. was hoping for a more raw nightelf side again after malfurion burried that orc alive in the cinematic of bfa
4:14 Alleria : You deserve it sis, you have caused a lot of problems and terrible things! Vereesa : I'm sorry that you have to do this, sis! I'm gonna miss you!
I love how oblivious Tyrande is to the fact that Sylvana's eye color is blue now , not red. You'd think she'd be more observant and make the connection that something is different ?
Wait im confused, whats the point of Tyrande putting a blade to Sylvanas throat while they are in the shadowlands? If she killed her then Sylvanas would just go to the maw where Tyrande was going to send her anyways?
Love the new updated animation for the in-cutscenes along with the better lip-synch. A lot of the BFA cutscenes would’ve been phenomenal with these upgrades.
People DO care about Arthas and Kaelthas, and we are the people who have been paying for the game over 10 years and we are many in number. I'm sick of people saying our opinion doesnt matter, yes it does and there are many of us and i play with a whole group of people who love Kael including people NEW to the game. Arthas and Kael were great charchters that bring feels and purpose to the game with their huge lore and story. Kael was retconned twice, he went from being a calm spoken prince who wanted to study in dalaran and was reluctant to lead to being a mistachioed crackhead villian the moment he set a foot in outland just because blizz was short on time and needed bosses. Then he was retconned again in shadowlands to being a petulant brat placed in the emasculating time out zone and he has no justice. (To live, i tell myself he left a clone of himself in shadowlands and actually peaced out to DOTA2 as the Invoker, since the Invoker is based off Kael.) How awesome it would be to have him and lorthemar (whom Kael appointed as regent) team up. Place kael in the chair behind lorthemar in Silvermoon so i can say hi once a day and ill shut up. Have him wander around Silvermoon chillaxing so i can click on him once a day for a short comment and even just that will be enough to make up for taking this huge dump on his lore. Or make him come back as the leader of sanlayn so we can have vampire belfs. They even fired his voice actor. They even made him go bald in one patch the ultimate humiliation. And Arthas should not have picked up the sword... but beyond that the lich screwed with his mind and corrupted him. He gets his soul extinguished while everyone else gets a chance to redeem? Arthas ain't resting he's been erased! But meanwhile tyrande got a whole redemption story and comes back to life, and sylvannas gets to go to the maw and save souls cause she's super sorry for genocide (that's not a punishment). I guess you gotta be female, i guess that's it. But then even illidan had a castle of concubines and then we got lectured for hating him and they turned him into a hero. I say this as a woman, the scales aint balanced here and the male charchters got emasculated this expac and i want justice for Kael and i likewise understand how upset the Arthas people are. The story has to be written by AI bots at this point.
"Arthas, alas, my son, you shall be disenchanted into crafting materials for the Jailer, and then monologued by an undead elf before fading into Nothingness" Next up Nozdormu goes to the past and stops Arthas from taking Frostmourne before he goes back to Lordaeron to build the Iron Alliance! Next expansion hype! Still hope we see Lor’thermar talk with Kael’thas at least before we depart the Shadowlands.
i dont fathom why u could possibly complain: u like a char he got a story u like and everything nowadays turns to shit that the story touches. i wish the chars i liked would have not been touched and therefore ruined...i envy arthas who just didnt have to apear in shadowlands and got his chrakter not altered
My favorite here aside from the Windrunner sisters. Wish we could see Baine do more aside from just being walking beef, but it was a touching exchange with Lor'thermar. Also hope he has his reunion with Kael'thas.
Tyrande: There will be no peace for you until there is peace for the souls of your victims- Danuser: and all of her victims were raised into undead and loved it and me- i mean Nathanos and Sylvanas lived happily ever after
I love Tyrande's rage in this scene. So warranted. She acknowledges the influence over Sylvanas, but at the same time, she aint trying to hear that bullshit. I felt every single venomous word she spat at her.
i have no love for Tyrande, her attitude from the very start of wow has always been foul, always acting like she was better than absolutely everyone else.
I have a hilarious screenshot from this notoriously buggy game, from that scene. It expresses that Tyrande was so full of loathing that her face lost a couple levels of detail. The way she turned her head, it was just great comedy.
@@hotrodpawns I do so agree with you. Ultimately she's a stuck up little zealot, and has been since she chose to free Illidan. That said, all her wrath against Sylvanas is just.
When anduin was kidnapped at the beginning of shadowlands and greymane immediately yells “sylvanas!” Made me think greymane would blame sylvanas if he stubbed his toe
For those who think sylvanas deserves worse… she have enough with this tyrande put in her shoulders… to deliver all the souls she condemned to the maw… that is enough punish for her…
My Theory 1. The Primus dominated Zovaal to open the way to Zereth Mortis as well as have Death gain Azeroth's trust (Order 66) 2. The Primus kept another shard of Arthas for safe keeping (Arthas was also split into two souls) 3. The Covenants will also help save the souls in the Maw (There are covenant forces stationed Korthia)
Its obvious that Zovaal was controled by someone, he was controled by domination magic specifically , his rune symbols on his face and his armor (when it goes off in a similar way that anduin's went off after he was free from domination magic) shows us that! I agree to everything!
Sylvanas and Illidan will return in a future expansion in the Nick of time to save the day. Though illidan is somewhere in space and Sylvanas is in wow hell, they will spawn some BS portal because the writers said so. Sylvanas will have some long talk to illidan about how she can redeem herself, Illidan will do his head turn smirk thing and say some line about it being a long uncertain path that will most likely never reach its destination.
Sylvanas: Manipulated by the Jailer. Sentence - eternity of dailies. Anduin: Manipulated by the Jailer. Sentence - All cool, brah. Arthas: Manipulated by the Jailer. Sentence - lulz
Sylvanas was not manipulated. She says that herself in this exact Video. The Jailer had shown her the mechanism of death and told her why He thinks its unjust. He made her some prophecies and when those came true she decided to ally with him for what she may thought would be the greater good. Arthas was neither manipulated. He sought out Frostmourne because he thought he needed this power to save his entire world. He commited crimes only to reach it and even before he knew of it (Stratholm). In the Sylvanas Book we learn that Arthas was in fact trying to thwart the Jailers plans and was also somewhat successful in that he didnt obey to Ner'zhul and the Helm of Domination. (We dont know what the Lich King would have done if the Jailer actually had control over him but Arthas' aim was to raise an undead army which the Legion couldnt stop) This is why the Jailer actually destroyed Arthas' soul once he got his hands on it.
So did anyone else play "Where's Genn Greymane?" in that cutscene? You could be forgiven for thinking he's not even there at all since he wasn't important enough for a reaction shot, let alone a single line during Sylvanas's "judgement". Gotta love the absolute non payoff of any of the countless people Sylvanas has wronged. Just Tyrande and her magical lifting of her rage, changing of her heart, and sudden infusion of mercy.
I don't know... Tyrande just condemned Sylvanas to decades or possibly centuries of daily quests. I could barely take a week of them before giving up, so it seems to me that Sylvanas received a fate worse than death.
Right; they’re going to make him into super Fascist “if it ain’t light it’ ain’t right”. I expect him to eventually remake or use the Argent Crusade drum up old nonsense in the Eastern Kingdoms. Probably attempt to fully retake the Plague Lands and Remnants of the Undercity. We know Greymane would absolutely back that decision. Which would eventually put him at Odds with Bolvar Fordragons Scourge, serving as a buffer between the Forsaken seeking refuge from the new Crusade. Who knows they might even make Bolvar or the Ebon Knights join the Horde to protect the last of the Forsaken.
@@benacewoofstorm There must always be a bad guy. They already pulled otherworldly bad guys now we need a bad guy from home. Also, the horde seems stable for now, I really believe the next bad guy will come from the alliance.
While others are not a fan of Arthas' fate, I think it's kind of fitting. Arthas went through so much control and manipulations throughout the years before he's killed. And even then, we would know that his soul was in the Jailer's hands from that moment, going through even more twisting and warping. It makes sense that his soul just vanishes. He's tired and just wants to rest. His theme gently playing in the end just kills me though. Arthas is what got me into WoW after becoming obsessed with his character in Warcraft 3. It's such a bittersweet moment, but now he's without a doubt at peace.
Man i like this ending, the task Tyrande gave is such a good fit. everybody is done with sylvanas this expansion, and she gets send off to the maw. For a good cause! I really think WoW went full circle. If the game would end with this, it would end in a good way. It has me hooked for the next expansion, but untill then, i am done playing.
yeah i mean, it has come to an end and that feels good, i dont feel motivated to play further than this past month, all good, everything comes to an end
Only I think all shadowlands was made just to redeem Sylvanas? Every major character who has something to do with Sylvanas helped her with Redemption arc. Anduin - His enslavement reminded Sylvanas what Arthas had done to her. But of course, even if she committed genocide, golden boy still saw her bright side. All Anduin did to be a boss and planted a seed of uncertainty about her actions. Uther - Despite many killed by frostmourne only Uther and Sylvanas were important enough to talk about splitting souls. Uther literally became her therapist and shield so Jaina and the rest of the leaders didn't kill her right away. Zoval - Character created only to be blamed for all the crimes of Sylvanas. Writers had to figure out a way to save Sylv so they quickly created Zoval and a mechanism splitting soul. Arthas - bring back only for Sylvanas to have a monologue about how much she has become him. Which apparently force us to sympathize with her. Tyrande - Her only goal in Shadowlands was to kill Nathanos so Sylvanas would finally rebel against Jailer. And telling Alliance she's okay with all criminals who destroyed her people.
And i an looking forward for kaelthas and lothermar reunited i hope they talking about sylvanas and illdan and i hope jaina show up and say hi to prince kaelthas uyy
So many interactions we wish we had gotten. The Windrunner reunion, Lirath, Lor’thermar and Kael’thas. Baine and Cairne. Anduin and Varian. Saurfang and Varok jr. Still hopeful we get many of these as the wholesome conversations are the best part out of this expansion.
"I submit to the judgement of Tyrande Whisperwind." I have seen a lot of cringe in my life, and I have developed a decently high resistance to it, but I still sustained critical cringe damage when I heard that. Also, feels like that poor owl is getting the same punishment as Sylvanas. Why do so many animal people seem to secretly hate animals??? Edit: great video editing by Athelarius though, even if I hate what Activision-Blizzard has become.
There was a lot of cringe, but it's become the norm for the writing department for some years. The accused gets to choose who will be their judge, I see no problem whatsoever lmao
Surprisingly, this does give me some kind of satisfaction. Sylvanas was a bitch as the banshee, but in her lost soul fragment being restored, it felt like a cop out as if she got redemption after all the lives she killed. But her old self knew their had to be penance, and all the lives her dark half killed and sent to hell itself had to be brought back, so the old ranger now in control went through with it all. In a way, the banshee sylvanas has been erased from the story in the same way Arthas and Garrosh were, the old ranger sylvanas is now in control.
Personally, I didn't feel any satisfaction because the cutscene felt not like a cinematic from WoW but more like "You're going to Brazil, [SFM]" but it's Maw, and sylvanas is now a victim and Tyrande is a bitch because of it. At least now she's trapped inside shadowlands expansion for longer than all players did
I personnaly hate the separation between the two parts of her soul. Sylvanas was a bitter ex-living being who turned exactly like the ones who killed her and she sweared to destroy. By separating her soul, she basically became not responsible for eveything she did
Calia Menethil and Lilian Voss have supposedly been working together since BFA's end on a future for the Undead. I expect we see updates to Undercity next.
This whole ending drives me insane. Genn getting a snippet of dialogue about his son, but Tyrande still getting "revenge" for the only genocide she thinks took place at the hands of Sylvanas is annoying. Especially considering he doesn't even say it with rage, just a little grump. I do hope he's pissed at Tyrande. There was no stakes in this entire expansion. Anduin's fine, Tyrande's fine, Sylvanas is going to be fine. The only ones we lost were the ones Blizzard was pissed we still loved, Garrosh, and Arthas for example. And Tyrande trying to say that Elune stayed her hand because of the "redemption" Sylvanas gets, even though Elune essentially allowed the tree burning in the first place feels like they had no idea how to explain it all. The only good parts seem to be Lor'themar, Baine, and the Windrunner trio talking briefly. I really hope this expansion will forever be behind us. I even accepted some of the weird parts of WoD, and BfA. But I find it real hard to defend anything in Shadowlands.
What do you mean "no stakes"? We could have lost Anduin, Tyrande, Azertoths world soul. Baine, Jaina and Thrall seem to have ptsd. This expac was gutwrenching and fascinating to me.
As for Elune allowing the Burning of Teldrassil, it is explained in her conversation with the Winter Queen, after we save Tyrande from dying from excessive night-warrior-ness. Elune's intention in letting the tree burn was to supply Ardenweald with souls as she was aware of the drought. She was unaware of it's cause though, which resulted in her unintentionally dooming her favored children to torment and erasure within the Maw.
@@RexxyRobin And Jaina had been traumatized AGAIN, remember Theramore. It really seems like Blizzard decided to make her the most tragic character of the universe. I was really sad to see her expression during the judgement of Sylvanas, especially right next to Anduin who looked like he wanted to save her.
sometimes few words and passive language speak more. Sure its easy to understand anger if someone rambles with outrage, but with those few, cold sentences, I found it more scary. Like he doesnt want to say out loud what he feels, cuz that would be an open threat. Or he is not willing to show any rage towards Lor'themar, because he feels like he doesnt even deserves that attention. Dont get me wrong, this expansions lore sucked ass, but I dont think that Genns few "grumpy" lines were intended to sideline him. I think they are building up to a story where the Alliance may end up in inner turmoi. Genn still has a lot of rage within him towards the Horde, as we have seen, and Turalyon has shown signs of being a devoted extremist, who sometimes has Scarlet-ish tendencies. We have also seen pamphlets of the Scarlet Brotherhood, a remnant of the same crusade, intending to fight alongside Genn, and then backstab him to create a new, human oriented Alliance. I may be overinterpretive and on too much hopium, but I think Genn will have a bigger role in the future, and I dont think he will be a pacifist. Especially not while Anduin is still staying in the Shadowlands. And there is a lot of potential in the Alliance having inner division imo, so if they dont fuck it up, it may be pretty fun and entertaining lore.
@@Jeod so Elune accepted her "favored children" to be roasted in a gigantic barbeque just to give her sister enough fuel for overcoming the drought? Wow, that's truly barbaric. Elune isn't a goddess then, but the pure evil. Or she's just dense af.
"we have to get rid of warchiefs" says the horde as we watch Baine and Lor'themar have a single conversation that shows both of them would be incredibly better warchiefs than the past. Thrall was good for awhile but fucked up putting up Garrosh and then went boohoo in Outland after his shaman larp phase. Garrosh was a great WARchief, so i dont know why Thrall would put him in charge during peacetime, at least everything he did he did for the horde. VOLJIN was so fukin hype for war chief and then he got backdrafted for a whole xpac and then immediately killed. Baine was too young, and Lorthemar doesn’t exactly have the warmest relationship with the rest of the Horde. If anything, the Blood Elves were only allowed in the Horde because Sylvanas helped convince Thrall.
@@TheStr0ke Talanji learned from her father on how to rule an empire, a far more complex society when compared to the small nomadic tribes of the Tauren. Anduin learned also at a young age, and is also a bit more familiar to the different races of the Alliance. However, even after he was finally crowned king, his pacifist approaches were met with criticism from various leaders. Even Greymane had to call him out. It was fortunate that they’re just not as aggressive as the Horde. Baine, on the other hand, would need to learn a whole lot about the extremely different races of the Horde and be especially delicate with each one. While trolls, orcs and Tauren seem to get along fine, there is a bit of friction when handling the Goblins, Forsaken and Blood Elves.
Free every single soul in the Maw to be given fair judgement by the Arbiter... Sylvanas has a monumental task ahead of her, but I suspect it is more than she could have hoped for, and Tyrande showed wisdom and perhaps a shade of compassion in giving this task to Sylvanas to begin her penance. There's no telling how long her quest will take, but I believe Sylvanas will return triumphant or not return at all. It is indeed a start towards her redemption, and while some, like Greymane, may never forgive her, I hope that in time Sylvanas may one day be able to forgive herself. As for Tyrande and the Kal'dorei, they don't have to really forgive Sylvanas either, but I hope they can find closure and one day let go of their grudges and animosity, so that their hearts can begin to heal. Anduin has undergone terrible trauma as well, and it is understandable that he does not want to return to Stormwind. Not yet... He needs time so that he can heal as well Alleria and Vereesa at least got a brief moment with their sister, their true sister, not the banshee that she used to be, and they have hope they will see her again, meaning they have faith in her and that one day they may be a family again Baine has no need to find and speak with his father, becuz he has carried his father's memory and love and wisdom in his heart while having the strength of spirit and wisdom to accept his father is at peace and Baine himself is at peace, and that there's no need to stir up old memories
Also think we may be pulling Sylvanas out of the Maw in a future expansion but for the time being, the sentence will serve the Night Elf souls lost in there. As for Anduin we've yet to see what effects extensive domination magic has had on him but he did say every time it was used he would lose a part of himself. Alleria & Vereesa's reunion was probably the best part although a bit short. And really looking forward to seeing Lor'thermar talk with Kael'thas after his talk with Baine about Cairne.

Sylvanas: Oh sure I invaded your kingdom, murdered your son, tried to wipe out your people and tried to damn the world to Super Hell, but that's ok, I forgave myself! Tee hee! Everyone else: U wot m8?
it is unknown if arthas redeemed by replace and overthrow zovaal as the new jailer just like illidan become sargeras' jailer after end of antorus and defeat of the burning legion.
Wait hold on now that I think about it we know for a fact Arthas' soul was split in two and Jailer never got the other half right? Just like with Uther's soul escaping? So baby Arthas could be separate from the Lich King Arthas?
We’re more fans of the possibility a bronze dragon flight member goes back in time and stops Arthas from taking up Frostmourne and he goes back to Lordaeron to build the Iron Alliance. Sounds kinda familiar.
Then in the twist nobody expected Sylvanas escapes the Maw in the next expansion and she goes back in time to Warcraft 3 timeline to become Lich Queen, take over the Scourge then invade Azeroth in the current timeline with it. The champions of Azeroth must travel back in time to stop her.
I haven't played WoW since WOTLK, but I gotta say, seeing the very last of Arthas fade away hit me a bit. It was like an ending to a game I played a decade ago finally come full circle. Very neat. Thanks for the content!
1) Arthus was manipulated by a god and a arch demon to become the lich king. 2) He had no control over his action while Sylvanus knew exactly what she was doing and was not being manipulated by anyone. 3) The killing and Slaughter that Sylvanus did is on the same scale if not more than Arthus. 4) Most of the people that Arthus killed were not damned - we see his father's soul and other souls that reached the golden city, while Sylvanus condemned everyone to the Maw for their souls to be tormented for all eternity. Even a small portion of Arthus soul dosent survive while Sylvanus gets a redemption arc. Guess it pays to be a hot babe.
Sorry not sorry. If so, then anyone who acted foolishly and got people killed would have to face consequences, you would have nobody left. No gnomes, no goblins, no nightelves, no humans, no trolls, nor orcs and that wolf dude king would have been thrown into a volcano. At least she had the excuse of not having a soul. I'm fine ignoring this expansion as a whole.
@@rachlangl787 Nah, he didn't. We only see Arthas being a bratty stuck up princeling who thought he knew better than everyone. We see Sylvanas struggle from the moment she first pops up as the antagonist in the three Quel'thalas missions on WC3, to the moment she is named Warchief in Legion.
I mean, I'd be pretty pissed if I was one of those victims in the maw and they only sent Sylvanas to get me out. I mean, there are millions upon millions of people waiting in line. Are they all just gonna be tortured beyond compression while they wait EIONS for their turn to be saved by her? NOBODY IS GONNA HELP HER? All those people are gonna suffer for countless years just so that Sylvannas learns her lesson. Nobody from any of the covenants will help save those innocent people who are endless agony? This whole solution wasn't really thought out well. "Listen, I get that you're literally in hell, but we're just gonna send one person to deal with that. Have fun waiting while she cleans up her mess!"
So, when is it an alliance leader become an expansion villan? I thought Jaina was gonna be a Villanova, given how much she hated the horde after garrosh nuked theremore and the horde retreated and wyrn died
ikr, fukin writing lowhanging fruit. horde bad, let go siege orgrimmar again and then the new council will be evil. and all the alliance characters will be good guys no matter what they do ("JaInA ")
Definitely a great improvement for the in-game cutscenes. First time we saw was with the Anduin one where he stops the Jailer;s army so we can teleport to Oribos. They've gotten really good now.
So many great opportunities lost… they went to an expansion in the afterlife and we fail to see very important characters that should have had at least some appearances, as Tyrion, Varian… worse… Arthas story was butchered… no redemption, no final closure, nothing… just a faint blue light floating and then it’s gone… the writing in this game reached a new level of incompetence. I am glad I don’t play this time sink anymore, but nonetheless I still miss the good old days when the game used to be fun and had good writing.
Arthas story was already over, they could have expanded it, and maybe they planned to, but it was already closed since WOTLK. To reopen and possibly mess it up (look at the track record) would have been more criminal than doing nothng. Arthas is the other side of the token, the one that has no chance at redemption, and is a fate that could have fallen to sylvanas as well. There was no butchering becuase they didnt do anything with it, and there was closure YEARS AGO.
I agree with Epic-o. Arthas' Story was long over. Why would you want redemption for him. Its not like Arthas was mind-controlled to become the Lich King. He did that despite warnings and did horrible things just to reach this power. He may have had noble goals but He was overly confident and willing to do anything to reach his goals. The end wont justify the means
@@SomethingSimilar442 But actually Arthas was mind controlled. At the end of the ICC cinematic in WoTLK we clearly see that the power that the helm and frostmourne had over him faded… he woke up and was coming back to who he was when he asked his father “Father… is it over?”. His eyes were glowing no more and at that moment he was Arthas again, not the LK.

Hiya Folks!

In the new book, The Jailer destroyed almost all remnant of his soul for being a thorn at his side. He ruined the dreadlords' plans and Ner'zhul failed in dominating him when Arthas donned the helm. (which is why Ner'zhul was severely punished in the Shadowlands)
He would have had a chance of redemption, maybe, had Uther not damned him to the proverbial Hell.

My Theory
1. The Primus dominated Zovaal to open the way to Zereth Mortis as well as have Death gain Azeroth's trust (Order 66)
2. The Primus kept another shard of Arthas for safe keeping (Arthas was also split into two souls)
The Ingame-Mimic is really nice. Put it in the Game... This 20 Years old Engine is magical sometimes
Sylvanas woke up from a bad party only to suffer the consequences from being to hammered when she tried to make it a good party for her friends.

It is better off he dead as unredempted hero rather than living full of retcons
But imagine what they could have done had they had competent writers. I can dream.
goes to show you its not who you know but what you blow.
Perhaps she should have been force fed Tyrande's body waste for eternity.
(We dont know what the Lich King would have done if the Jailer actually had control over him but Arthas' aim was to raise an undead army which the Legion couldnt stop)
This is why the Jailer actually destroyed Arthas' soul once he got his hands on it.
"Turalyon will keep the Alliance safe in my absence." Oh boy KEKW
Incoming light vs void conflict, especially since we’ve seen what happened with Yrel back on Draenor.
1 year later and this is still not justice Tyrande has shown herself willing to blame the whole for what the half did.
At least we get to see Genn talk with Lor’thermar and Anduin at the end. But he had as much reason to play a role in Sylvanas judgement as Tyrande.
what u mean? he was sulking in back. hes legit just hate and regret and nothing else

His controlled period was proportionately small compared to the long periods he ruled as the Lich King, unimpeded and uncontrolled
Poor chick, I wanted the writing team to get rid of her already, and they sent Sylvanas to do dailies in the Maw.
Damn... rough, I'll rather die.
Technically death in the Shadowlands would pull her into the maw. And then maybe super maw in the super shadowlands.
You obviously don’t know what redemption is.

Overruled. Angry elf has overtaken the verdict!

Baine was too young, and Lorthemar doesn’t exactly have the warmest relationship with the rest of the Horde. If anything, the Blood Elves were only allowed in the Horde because Sylvanas helped convince Thrall.
@@datemasamune2904 Anduin and Talanji are two of the most competent leaders but Baine is too young?
Baine couldn't be Warchief because he was too buddy with Jaina and Anduin. This game is called World of Warcraft not World of Peacecraft
Not yet... He needs time so that he can heal as well
Alleria and Vereesa at least got a brief moment with their sister, their true sister, not the banshee that she used to be, and they have hope they will see her again, meaning they have faith in her and that one day they may be a family again
Baine has no need to find and speak with his father, becuz he has carried his father's memory and love and wisdom in his heart while having the strength of spirit and wisdom to accept his father is at peace and Baine himself is at peace, and that there's no need to stir up old memories
Also think we may be pulling Sylvanas out of the Maw in a future expansion but for the time being, the sentence will serve the Night Elf souls lost in there. As for Anduin we've yet to see what effects extensive domination magic has had on him but he did say every time it was used he would lose a part of himself. Why is everyone on the shadowlands? Man, so much for being the afterlife...

Arthas is the other side of the token, the one that has no chance at redemption, and is a fate that could have fallen to sylvanas as well. There was no butchering becuase they didnt do anything with it, and there was closure YEARS AGO.
Apparently he did redeem himself in a way. The newest books talks about him opposing the jailer so he got both prices of his soul shredded.
I agree with Epic-o. Arthas' Story was long over. Why would you want redemption for him. Its not like Arthas was mind-controlled to become the Lich King.
