    I was abused as an infant. Also smothered. My grandmother was trying to stop my crying. I was taken and adopted out after all the abuse. I think the boyfriend should be in prison, too. He got away with it. There's never a reason to get violent with a child.

      I’m so sorry. Anyone who lays a hand on a child is the worst form of human garbage. I hope you have good support systems since, no matter our strength, years of therapy, resilience, etc, the pain of knowing the people who should have loved you the most treated you the worst has a way of creeping back up. One reason why child abuse is so insidious.
      You never deserved what happened to you. They are monsters. Live your best life because you DO deserve that. Take care of yourself. Again, my heart goes out to you.

      Unrelated to this story, but my mother worked in a hospital where a traumatised rape victim was convinced that an evil spirit raped her. Her brain was trying to protect her from the reality and truth of her situation. My mother said that it was the most heartbreaking thing because both the nurse and a forensic investigator had to tell her that it was a human monster who did this to her, and her brain was still trying to protect her because she was arguing and saying that it was an evil spirit.

    Seems to me that David was most likely the one who delivered the fatal blow(s), however, I still think Christina was guilty by association... as well as guilty of her own neglect and abuse toward Amber. I find it highly suspect that in the days leading up to Amber's death, David kept on coming up with excuses to explain different injuries Amber had received, such as "she fell on the sidewalk," and then the very next day, she "fell down the stairs." That sounds to me like he was being physically abusive and merely coming up with random excuses to cover it up. But, the fact that Christina was either A) buying these terrible excuses, or B) ignoring the excuses created a situation in which Amber's abuse was allowed to continue until it was inevitably taken too far. They both should have been locked up for life, in my opinion.
    Poor Amber. She deserved a loving and caring family and, unfortunately, she got stuck with a couple of spineless, indigent wackjobs instead. Rest in peace, little one.

    • @KatieBellino
      @KatieBellino ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I did question the "she fell" excuses. They are classic abuser lies. It's also interesting that the medical examiner says that Amber would have shown signs of an issue withing 15-30 minutes, but it also says online that a concussion can take 24-72 hours to show symptoms.

    Spot on Dr Grande. Great analysis. In my opinion another key aspect of this case is the entertainment industry's increasing reliance on "legal crusading" as the hook in true crime documentaries. Everyone seems to be looking for the next bombshell "The Thin Blue Line" or "Paradise Lost" but more often than not their advocacy seems misplaced. Especially when filmmakers are making calculated decisions about what to omit and what to include to drive their narrative. This isn't the right case to be protesting a conviction.

I think the brother was the Resche's biological son so they did not want to believe he was a sexual predator in any way. Christina was just an adopted kid. If criminals that are about to be caught, would not have hope left once caught, a lot of them would kill and kill and kill, just to stay free. That poor little girl. This case is a very tricky one and the start of it all was the flying phone “powers” that Christine supposedly had. It seems to me that she just wanted attention and notoriety, but she ended up taking her life in a direction that completely wrecked it and ended up destroying her own daughter because of who Christine became involved with. I just don’t understand cases like this.
    Christine’s adoptive parents should have NEVER let her go with the investigative team because it seems that it gave her leeway and complete independence that she was definitely not old enough to handle yet. She got a taste of that freedom and her life did nothing but go downhill after that. She has left a trail of destruction behind her that grows longer as she remains locked up in prison. Her family is forever broken and shamed by it all and that is why the destruction continues. What a VERY sad and tricky case.

    I literally finished the documentary this morning and when I saw the videos of her taking that little girl to a man’s house that videotaped their adult activities and Amber being present at the time floored me. Amber appears in the videos, walking around, jumping on the bed. Up until that point I could sort of be on her side…albeit with the teensiest thread of sympathy. But seeing that and how she interacted with that child during the “adult activities” time I believe wholeheartedly she is a sociopath and a cold, calloused human being. She knew full well what was going on with that child. She was part of the abu*e and left that baby with the other person involved in the abu*e.

She is responsible , she left her child there m it can’t have Ben jsut one of them. If it was, she’s guilty of leaving her child in danger. And she rings someone else instead of 000. Pathetic and it sounds guilty. Whatever, a child is dead because of her actions. Poor, dear child 🙏🙏🙏👵🇦🇺

I think: she is a child that incurred something at a young age (my aunt was a foster parent) because even before 2 yrs. of age it can imprint on a child - so I think she is covert narcissist because of the manipulation. And need for attention. And she is getting a lot because of the doc so even if she doesn't get out she is still having a high time just because a movie is being made about her. It's atrocious. Poor Amber. ❤

    Regarding the little girl walking in on her adult filming, my understanding is that according to law, that constitutes (loosely speaking) 'underage porn', even though she (thankfully!) wasn't an active participant. Although that could be seen as something of an accident without malicious intent, said section of the video should have been immediately deleted, never mentioned and steps should have been taken to see that never happened again.

    There's a long tradition of crime documentaries that omit inculpatory evidence, from _Paradise Lost,_ to _Making a Murderer,_ and now _Demons and Saviours._ They also portray things in a biased and non-objective way. I think it's a real shame because these stories are all interesting anyway and the filmmakers are talented. But turning the doco into a movement for vindication adds another layer of drama and gives the filmmakers access to the subjects they probably wouldn't get otherwise.

    Universal healthcare may have prevented maybe not this death if there are criminal intentions to the child, but medical intervention via ambulance would reach so many children in the early hours of a medical emergency or sudden distressing changes in their motor, affect, etc. Even a fraction of abuse cases would still reach for medical care for a myriad of factors.
