Seriously impressed by the spring reverb algorithm in the reverb unit and the high gain additions to the ACS1. From the Mako line, I still have my Gen1 D1, a Gen 2 D1, and an M1. Looking forward to the October firmware updates! Can you guys release a teaser video or a “features of” video for what the firmware updates will encompass? Thanks for everything you guys do.
I literally just traded my whole pedalboard and for a quad cortex and now I feel like I need this exact pedalboard (with maybe a midi controller). I do kinda wish that the vintage program on the D1 was bucket brigade though. The granular sounds sick. When you kicked on the R1 along with that granular my jaw dropped.
ahhh at last. Been waiting on that updated M1. Always pined for more visual feedback on the old one, and that's solved handily. Looking forward to running these sounds into my CBBlooper/Onward/Mood Mk2. So much more fund to play with modulation on the front end before loopmangling. Only other WA pedal I've got right now is Eons, but this will be a welcome addition.
I was thinking the opposite to you..I'm gonna put it at the end of my chain after Mood2, Onward,Lossy to add yet more movement/modulation to my drones/loops....
What is the update to the reverse delay on the D1...can you get reverse repeats without the reversed reversed repeats ? i find the d1 reverse delay unusable
I had this on in the background while working. When you engaged the R1 with the D1, my head turned to the screen as the sound demanded my full attention... I think some pedals that have been mainstays on my board for over a decade might finally be dethroned.
Ha ha.. I'm almost certain I'm getting this new M1..for end of chain ambience as I already have a Zelzah..but I'm thinking this M1 will replace that plus free up more space for another pedal 😁
Hi, Kwaician! Thanks for your interest. The new high-gain models are only present on the ACS1 MkII. The original pedal just has the three “vintage” models. I hope this helps - feel free to contact me directly with any further questions, and thanks again! Caleb Lowrey, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1620, caleb_lowrey@sweetwater.com
Hello Walrus team! Will it be possible to fully recreate the exact sounds of MK1 with the MK2? I have created and love some "signature" sounds in my well beloved MK1 R1 that I won't miss.
When you call up a saved preset I am assuming that all the parameters of that preset show up on the screen. So you can tweak and save again in the same spot?
Hi, eyejacker. Yes, when you pull up a preset, the different settings for that preset will be represented on the screen so you can start making adjustments if necessary. Thanks for your interest! Charlie Davis, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1320, charlie_davis@sweetwater.com
Theyve always been great sounding oedals but im not sure the screen fits in this fornat. Im a big fan of a screen in this instance but it needs to be bigger whovh might mean moving away from such a compact form factor just a little bit. Maybe a case size like the Strymon flint for example
@@walrusaudioeffects I almost added to my comment that Walrus service department would take care of any issues you may have - Here you are being proactive about the product! Glad to hear they won't be that way in final production! I think the ACS1 might be my first Mako
I bought one, and the bottom row knobs are still not very strong, and for that matter, it's nowhere near the quality of the strymon hardware. I’ll never buy walrus effects again.
mannnnn! i hate thisss....not very good for my Wallet HP hahah....I freaking love this company....congrats on the MKII...would love to have one but I already own the D1V2
(but ill save up for it anw cuz I know they use our money to make better product and firmware update all for their customer)....strongly recommend their products they are top notch
An app would not be cheaper. Sure cheaper BOM, but now you have iOS and Android devs full time on staff constantly updating every time APIs change and going through app review process. It’s a lot more maintenance. Plus this looks way cooler. The other issue is that when they EOL this product it just keeps working like it did before EOL. When you EOL a pedal with an app, it becomes a paperweight. I just sold an R1 and a D1 and after this I want to jump back in. These new ones look so badass and the updates sound awesome.
That's the canvas line of Walrus utility pedals and power supplies. Given that the walrus canvas rainbow doesn't match the pride colors, I don't think they were trying to associate the series with pride.

So far, no, am not really impressed by the new features. I'll stick with the mk1
I would love the new ACS on my board
0:00 - M1
7:46 - D1
13:01 - R1
21:59 - ACS1
30:33 - Final Thoughts
ACS-1 is 22 minutes in. You’re welcome.
Should’ve relabeled to “M2,D2,R2,ASC2” may be an unpopular opinion 🤷🏻♂️
R2 D2... for sure a missed opportunity 😂
We’re well aware of the opportunity and won’t do that unless we were to do all new programs to add to the series. 🙂
The R2 D2 needs a limited run, with both pedals in a robot, for our boards, STAT!!! 😆
@@CorbCorbin have you not read about the last time Walrus tried to do a Star Wars release?
I assumed Apple would have sent a notice over if this was the case.
Normally I prefer knobs over screens, but these pedals desperately needed screens with all the hidden features. Great update.
That tri-chorus sounds amazing.
Pre-Ordered ACS1 MKII yesterday, Great work on these pedals, Stoked!
sleek design...nice set..handsome tashes...birds on frets
The new high gain stuff sounds niiiice
I had this video in the background, it's so calming. These are some good sounding pedals.
That 5150 sounds monstrous

All of them had me saying “yeah, those are cool” then the reverb and I just said “fuuuuuck! Wow!”

My God, is been a while without feeling the GAS syndrome impulse …. That ACS1 is making me feel anxious…. Must have ASAP!!! 🤯🥶
Dang, that's sick!!
The Ron Jeremy mustache club makes pedals now ? That’s cool 😂

Hasta lasagna, Tempus.
My D1 and R1 will finally be dethroned...by the D1 and R1.
Aha 😂
in every two years.
The M1 lo-fi sounds great... I picked up a Polychrome but now I'm thinking this may be way more versatile (I'm running out of pedalboard space 😫)

Do you only get the new high gain amps with the acs1mkii? Or can the og model gain up as well?

I would love an overdrive and a synth/pitch pedal in this series!
Wait for the inevitable MERIS Enzo X for synth greatness!!
Isnt this technically mk3 for the d1

I think I'll be swapping my IR-200 for this new ACS at one point. Sounds awesome and has all the models I want.
Steve Lacy chords, nice
please add chapters :)
What caps are those?

The D1 V2 already exists👀
Knew it! Freddy is alive and rippin‘
Sounds great. Do R1 and D1 have spillover when changing algorithms?
Yes they do have preset spillover for no more than one change at a time. If you do two quickly, it will have to re-load the trails.
@@walrusaudioeffects awesome
🎉 Sick
Literally just bought a D1V2
“May I please? Remain in this space. For Darts!”😂 yes. Acs1 will be mine. Again. Idk about the new 1/8” midi port tho.

holy shit...
Maybe starting off with the M1 wasn't the best idea. ô_Ô
Misread and thought they made a Miku mk2 pedal from Korg 😂
👌
Moustache x 2.
Just a couple of off duty cops riffin and tweaking knobs.
All of them sound incredible, but why the hell are the bottom row knobs so wobbly 😢😢😢😢
EDIT: !!Official Walrus response below!!
I came to the comments to see if I was the only one. Especially for push knobs - they really should be nice and solid.
These were prototype units with the not final knobs on them. They'll be locked in for shipping. 🙂

Nice SOAD at 22:56 🤘
These guys are really pushing the envelope. I just got their arp 87 and fathom reverb and am really embarrassed.
Why not an app other than another new product? Looks like you're abandoning the "non display" pedal... Terrible choice!
FWIW, the previous gen R1, D1, and M1 will all be getting firmware updates mid Oct. as well.
Bro shut up honestly. If you are happy with what you got you weren’t gonna change anyways no matter what they released.
@@walrusaudioeffects glad to hear we’re getting a FW update, the new models sound great. Also glad I can keep my original ACS1. Thanks )
@@walrusaudioeffects I always wonder why not a app like UA pedals? Easier and cheap than led screens. At least my old one will keep fresh. Thanks.
