Hey folks, thanks for watching! Also, I added the $7 Apple TV remote case I showed in the video as well. It's got a strap and it non-slip. Another 'stupid things DCR buys but loves' item: amzn.to/3n3c4jY
I've also had this exact same desk for two years - I absolutely love it. There is one thing to note: The instructions for assembly are rubbish (why do the castors have that nut on the bolt? Is it for leveling? Do I need it? - these questions will never be answered), but the overall assembly is pretty easy to figure out. Here's one thing - I originally put it together with the "Rad" stickers on the inside of the table legs - the legs seem to be completely identical so I really didn't think it mattered. The problem was that when pushing the buttons to lift the desk, one side stuck a little, I also had to put my foot on the base to pull the desk up. No big deal. But just for the heck of it I took it apart and put it back together the "right" way. Now the push-and-lift system works perfectly. Does that mean the legs are slightly different and designed to be on either the right or the left? If that were the case don't you think the "instructions" would point that out? I still doubt it makes any difference one way or the other, but if you run into a sticky-up problem, you might want to give swapping the legs a shot.
Best alternative by far is a heavy duty folding music stand, costs about $45, has adjustable height and tripod legs to get fairly close to your set up.
I've had mine for a bit over two years and am 100% satisfied. Used several times a week from November thru March and a few times a month the rest of the year.
I ordered the Lifeline from Chain Reaction Cycles. The instructions were bad but I figured it out. I have been using it for 9 months and have no complaints.
Wowwwww, I actually tried to buy the Wahoo Kickr desk and it was sold out everywhere. After two weeks of that, I bought the RAD Desk and love it. I had no idea the Kickr desk didn’t have water bottle holders, wheels that slide sideways, or wheel locks. If I had gotten and saw this video, I’d have been pretty pissed. Those two features are a life saver. I have my treadmill and Kickr right next to each other in front of a TV. I slide my desk side to side constantly. And i’d be pissed if I was knocking over my water bottles during runs. Although I paid $180 on Amazon for the RAD Desk. Not $120.
I just got this desk last week! It’s a bit of a pain to adjust the height initially but overall really happy with it. I can’t raise both sides at the same time because the buttons are too far inside the desk to push with both hands, and even with putting one foot on the frame, it wouldn’t budge. Had to alternate raising each side a few inches. However, now it’s at the right height, and I like it! What a game changer for indoor training.
Wish this video was posted yesterday. I literally order the rad desk yesterday, got a little nervous by some of the reviews so canceled it and ordered Wahoo desk instead. Great review and thanks for pointing out the wheels and how the water bottle will fall off on the Wahoo with a little wobble. Now I gotta return this Wahoo after it's delivered tomorrow 😃
I've been using this for about a year... very happy with it. I use a fork stand and a good size fan that goes underneath it, so the fan blows right up into my chest.
Wahoo Headwind fan placement is no issue. Simply use a cigar box, brick, paver, or another type of box shape of the right thickness to prop up the rear of the fan to the desired height. If you find vibration due to the square tubing shape of the Rad frame, wrap the frame where the fan hooks over with something soft like a towel, pool noodle, or peel-and-stick rubber pads. Alternatively, apply peel-and-stick rubber pads to the bottom of the "hook" legs on the front of the fan that make contact with the Rad frame.
I hadn't looked too closely when I bought it and thought that the „copy“ of Lifeline would only save me real money. Now, on closer inspection, I guess I did everything right. Perfect! - I'm already thinking about attaching a USB hub to the underside with a strong tape. Only for the cables would you have to drill slightly larger holes.
Thank you for the review. Saw a number of 1-star reviews on this, people were having issues with the buttons. But I took a chance, and also used your link to purchase it. The strength test was important - I plan on using the desk as an arm-rest that is higher than my road bike's hoods are.
Yeah, as noted in one of the review (either here or my written one), the buttons were a bit finicky at first, and then once I popped them in place properly, good to go! Thanks for using the link - appreciate it!
Planet X just put these on sale (pre-order) at £79.99. Looks like the exact same desk and great value once again from Planet X. I'll be glad to have my ironing board back again!
Hi Ray, thanks for the review. Based on this I bought it. Lifeline also has a rocker plate for around €300. Seeing as this is a lot cheaper than most, it’d be really interesting to see your take on it. Maybe a good suggestion for a future review.... Thanks for all the content!
Thanks for the review. As I need to break down my pain cave it would be great if the next generation innovation would make this foldable. I agree about fan placement.....multiple fans.
I’ve had mine for few years now and it’s a great desk. The only downside for me is that the wheels are swivelling so it doesn’t easily go forward and back in a straight line. Like you showed Better if you want to move around but for most I bet they will only move it forward or back.
thanks for this review. I have had this desk on my save for later section of amazon for awhile now. I think it's time for purchase because using the bar stool is not ideal, only cheap :)
Bought this last year from Chain Reaction. Great desk and great service from CR. The fact that this one pivots makes it better than Wahoo's in my opinion.
@@Dcrainmaker Plus, this one has square tubing for the base, which made it very easy to attach a diy platform for my blower fan (I sandwiched the tubing between two 1 x 2's screwed to a board).

I used the link you shared and had an absolutely awful experience. If everything doesn't go perfectly with your order customer service is extremely difficult to get ahold of and if you are lucky enough to get ahold of someone they are outright aggressive towards you.
My current cycling desk setup is the Kickr core box turned on its side. It's worked well for a year but unlike the Wahoo desk, it does not roll out of the way inadvertently.
I’ve had this desk for a year now, it’s great. Love the slots in the phone/iPad holes so the cables run up and power the phone (the Zwift companion app is so power hungry). Great bargain!
Actually, the thing I like the most I forgot to mention, and you didn't comment on it much either: it's narrower than the Wahoo desk. That's why I bought it originally. My space is kind of narrow, I have a Concept 2 rower next to it. Needed something narrower, this is just enough smaller that it fits perfectly. Thanks for all you do Ray. We were at MSFT together back in the day, I'm pretty sure. Love your channel.

I was waiting for wiggle to have it in stock so set up in stock notification and literally 10 minutes after email all sold out the first time,2nd time I was quicker should be here next week 👍Wahoo must be losing a fortune serves them right for being greedy.
Curious if anyone has ziptied a powerstrip to the underside of the desk to provide a make-shift power integration station. While not as well put together as a Saris, I think it would certainly be functionally the same. As I'm considering this as a multi-purpose standing desk for work & cycling this makes sense.

Does it include a PP label too!?!
@@Dcrainmaker It has a "PPW"-logo on the table top close to the left towel holder. The plastic parts are orange and not blue, which is cool, because I use it for Zwift.
Sold out for many months everywhere, ended up buying any other and perfectly functional random desk
Yeah, it seems US retailers tend to do a better job than the European ones on ordering large quantities of it.
Sold out in Germany... :(
Pro DJ Laptop, Projector Stand - Adjustable Laptop Stand - $26 from Amazon
Ray, love it :)
Thanks
Wow the rad desk is now $219 on Amazon. Not so much of a bargain anymore
Looks nice but sold out . Btw try to get a needle and blue thread and close our hole in the cycling shorts. Just saying. A female eye always will catch that.
Haha...yeah. It's funny, I went back through b-roll footage from the last year that I had sitting on my file server...and didn't pay super close attention to me, just making sure I had the desk in the shot. Doh!
👍👍👍
No wheel locks, what was they even thinking.
Their marketing cracks me up.
PPWear and you tie in whack ? Wow !
I want the gummy bears
last thing I want to see is a desk while I'm riding
160£ plus 66£ shipping = just 226£ - what a cheap gear ;-)
From Wiggle it’s 99£, and I think it was free shipping. Though, out of stock.
@@Dcrainmaker considering that cycling is cheap... ;-)
Annoyingly Amazon UK don’t stock it and instead charge £60 postage to send from the US 👎🏼
The Wiggle link is 99 pounds and free shipping in UK. Currently now out of stock, but hopefully will be back shortly.
DC Rainmaker ah I completely missed the wiggle link! About to embark on building a wahoo/zwift setup based on your reviews! Don’t own a laptop so having to go with iPhone/hdmi or Apple TV.
these things should be no more than £40
Why?
@@Dcrainmaker its a basic adjustable desk. Not alot, design work, material cost and aesthetic features. Dont understand the extra cost of everything related to cycling.
Dont you agree?
@@umairshah968 Not really. While the material costs are probably low, the shipping costs are high - it's heavy, it's made out of metal and is large in size. And it's competitors sell at double the price.
Well copying other peoples work provides cheap products. They even copied the colors.
It does. But after 5 years, Wahoo had ample to make even the smallest of upgrades/fixes to it. Others did...
Is everyone serious, Why not just ride your expensive bike. If you have the whole setup, you are compelled to use it. That kinda defeats the whole purpose of having a bike. Its like having a treadmill for your car.
Because the weather for many people doesn’t allow for riding outdoors in the deep snow and ice.
overpriced !. i have an Ikea Svartasen laptop adjustable stand and it works great.. price=30$.. Though I think its discontinued
