He tries a range of trainers, from wheel-on and rollers to smart trainer technology and bike training accessories. Wondering what is possible with a trainer? Kevin Frias is an avid cyclist, bikepacker and content creator who lives in Minneapolis, MInnesota. Kevin spends a great deal of his time getting out on two wheels, exploring, pushing his own limits, and making it easier for others to do the same.

Rollers for the win! I haven't been able to use a smart trainer, but I have found the regular trainer really boring unless you're watching a movie or at a spin class.

Rollers are awesome and they really, really teach you to pedal smoothly - but you really haven't lived until you have sneezed while riding on rollers.

Had the wheel on trainer. When smart trainers came out went to the Kickr. Worth every penny. In rainy Oregon I have no excuse not to ride. 😂 🚴♀️

Oh man, looks like trainers are quite the hassle to set up. I've been looking into getting one for the winter (which I guess if I keep the bike on it all winter it's fine)
The Kickr was super easy to put together. I leave my old steel road bike on it permanently.
They weren’t bad honestly, and like you said if you keep it on the trainer all winter it’s definitely worth it
