@@87togabito Sure, your case sounds space limited but for many people the jump from 1080p to 4k is held back by cost, at least that is was my experience and that of most people I've talked to about jumping from a 1080p setup to 4k where they had a TV already or space for a TV.

I've been using various Android tablets on my SB20 for the past three years. I'm currently using an inexpensive 2022 Samsung S8 and Zwift works very well. It pretty much instantly connects with the SB20 and my Garmin Dual HRM and I've never had a connectivity drop out. It's also a simple setup with the SB20 given the integrated tablet holder. You don't get the highest possible video quality of course, but even this inexpensive tablet rarely drops frames and runs very smoothly.

I started out running Zwift on an iPad, then 15" MacBook Pro, then added a 24" monitor, finally ended up with Apple TV and 42" TV along with Companion App on iPad Pro. Bigger display is always better and more immersive.
Been using the Apple TV 4k for a few years now and it's definitely the most hassle free in my experience. Using it with Kickr Core and Polar H10, I rarely have any issues. Usually if something comes up it's because my home wi-fi/net connection is acting up. The only down side is the damn remote. I upgraded to the newer model but the route selection is still a pain in the bee-hind because I have to use the touch scroll. That's where I spend most of my time, trying desperately to select a specific route 🥴 Otherwise it's been fantastic.

I decided to use my Samsung Phone as it has Ant+ and it was pure perfection. Immediate connection and smooth as it can be. Bought a dongle for my Laptop and never looked back.

I love Zwift and use my HP laptop, it meets the minimum requirement, but there is an issue with Intel integrated graphics. I have been in touch with their helpdesk on numerous occasions, and they are aware of the issue, but have been unable to resolve it. Zwift is almost certain to freeze at some point, it might be after 5 minutes, it might run for an hour plus, but it will crash. It seems to be a problem with the newer versions. My old i3 ran Zwift almost flawlessly but my i5 10th gen is a complete nightmare.
I have used adroid with screen mirroring. It worked but the graphics are only ok. The Macbook and PC experience is kind of a hassle. The easiest way is either with an iPad or an AppleTV (which is what I'm now using). The iPad is super quick to get running and the screen size is fine if you put it right in front of the bars. I prefer the ATV because I am displaying it on a small HDTV just in front of the bike. I don't do any communicating while riding. The ATV remote is most difficult in the menu's before you actually ride. In game it's fine because the Zwift menu is so simple. If you don't have a high end PC or Macbook already the cheapest and easiest way to get Zwift running is the ATV or iPad. Using just a phone, the screen is too small.

Thanks for the video. My issue is pairing devices between my Samsung tablet (running Zwift) and the companion app on my S21. When Apple does come out with that mini, I'll buy you one and you give me the Alienware, OK? :-)

You can create workouts on the iPad but not Apple TV. However, if you create a workout on any other platform, like a PC for example, it should appear on Apple TV as well if you decide to go the Apple TV route.
Hi Tariq, I just order a brand new Wahoo Kicker Core but as a new I’m not sure if is possible to view Zwift on a modern smart-tv just via Bluetooth connecting to the iPhone ? I want it simple ! Best Regards
Still running Zwift on my Galaxy S8. It supports ANT+ natively for my HRM and connects to both sensors (speed and cadence) on my bike and dumb trainer. Also supports USB-C to HDMI so the video on the TV is awesome. Tried Apple TV 4k. Only supports 2 BT devices. Actually 3, but one is for the remote. Doesn't support ANT+. Tried Samsung Tab A7 Lite. Total waste of time. No USB-C to HDMI or screen mirroring. Tried Samsung Tab A8. Everything worked (ANT+ needed a dongle), but the Smart View screen mirroring is horrendous. Looks like 480i. I'm finally doing what I should have done at first. Just ordered a Windows 11 laptop with Intel i7, 16GB of RAM and SSD.
Question: I use a gaming PC that was built for me to be used exclusively for Zwift. Should I buy a Bluetooth dongle to go full Bluetooth and scrub the ANT+ that I have been using? I have had a few dropouts using the ANT+ in the past.
If I had to choose between iPad and Apple TV which would you choose? I have an iPad but would need a new turbo table. Or could spend the money on Apple TV as we have the smart tv in the conservatory where my bikes are.
@@SmartBikeTrainers so the remote works fine to control zwift, or should I use my phone to talk on group rides? My smart trainer picks up power and cadence so I could use HRM as the second device
It’s great that your smart trainer broadcast cadence as well so you can pair everything using the Apple TV only. As for the remote, it’s ok with Zwift. You might struggle navigating some of the menus particularly the workout menu. Using the phone isn’t any better or easier. But Zwift is working on updating the user interface and hopefully we will see it soon.
Personally I like my sim running on Ultra settings at 60+ fps. iPad/Apple TV does not give you this. I use ANT+ with an extension cord with my laptop and have yet to run into any issues.
@@SmartBikeTrainers really it is about precision/quality. In all likelihood I could run things without the extension cord but it has always seemed like a good idea so I have always used it. Takes like 10 seconds to roll up/unroll each session so not a big deal for me. I certainly do not view it as defeating the wireless experience. Also given the vast number of complaints I read about ppl having issues with drop outs and how these could potentially be resolved if these trainers simply had a wired connection; well seems like many are willing to make that trade off.
Hi, can you tell me, how to connect my Garmin hrm to my new Lenovo laptop? I have tried al lot of forum tips but nothing seem to work. Your help would be very welcome. Enjoy your vids. 👍🏼
The iPhone 13 does. Seems to run in basic profile and 30fps. Same as older Apple TVs. The A15 is much more powerful and hopefully Zwift takes advantage of it and update the game profile.
Ive been using my MacBook Pro from 2016 on my brand new Wahoo kickr Core for the last 2 months or so and it worked just perfect. But all the sudden it startet to mess up with the communication between the devices. For example, in ERG Mode the intervals to not start or finish sometimes it just stays on with the power for minutes and then randomly go to the next interval. this also happens when I do a free ride, so im going up hill and there is now power change, then a couple minutes later im rinding in the flat and its feels like going 16% up hill. this happened from one day to the other out of nowhere... might a ANT+ Dongle help? Did anyone else experience this?
Might be worth trying to Zwift using a different device (phone) and see if you continue to experience these issues. I also wonder if other apps are taking up resources and causing issues.
@@Refridge41 can you mirror all the screen on the tv from your iPad ?? I have always both sides in black and the image is narrower than the width of the tv . Is it normal ?? Thanks

Does an Apple TV have to be the 4K version to work? I don’t really want to see in 4K and would like to save the money. I’ve been using an iPad Pro with great performance, but tired of using so much battery.
It’s not about the 4K resolution (actually you won’t be getting 4K in Zwift) but more about the chip inside the ATV 4K version. You will be able to run Zwift on the (gen 4) but you will run into more issue because of the older chip. So the more powerful chip in the 4k will give you a better overall experience.
Tough at that price to get a graphic card alone these days but I’ve heard of people building a pc together for that price. If you don’t feel like building one, this PC should allow you to play Zwift in 4K and decent frame rate. Not $400 but not a bad price for the specs: amzn.to/32Kx8WA
Not really possible - you'll find plenty of modern i3 integrated graphic systems at that pricepoint but you'll be severely disappointed at its Zwift performance . The problem with those budget packaged systems is that they lack a sufficiently powerful power supply and are non-standard so not a simple manner to upgrade to a dedicated graphic card. If you build your own system it's not really possible either unless you have a lot of existing hardware sitting around to reduce the cost, but if you had to buy everything necessary from scratch you're looking at more like the $500 - $600 pricepoint and that is without an OS (add an extra $100 for Windows)
I’m using my AppleTV for zwift on a big screen smart TV ….it’s very good . (But I wanted to upgrade this year ). Maybe Zwift will have a 4K version for the AppleTV 4K this year ?
Tried to use my win11 gaming rig with 3080 for zwift. Longest session was 8minutes until zwift crashes without any error. Just freeze and shut down. I gave up after 12 crashes. No money from me for zwift sadly.
Hi I have a question I got my trainer last week just waiting for the bike shop to bring the bike around and check my riding form and do adjustments. I have a custom pc am I not correct in thinking you can use the zwift companion app to connect to the trainer and that acts as a bridge and will work on pc? That's what I'm planning on doing. @@SmartBikeTrainers I'm aware of that but I have no Bluetooth on my pc and haven't purchased the ant+ dongle as im thinking would it not be good enough using it through the zc app?
I see what you are saying. Yes, as long as the PC and your phone on the same WiFi network, then you should be able to use the companion app to connect and see how it works for you. If that setup wasn’t reliable you can always invest in a Bluetooth dongle like this one amzn.to/3OP6AJp But yes, the Companion app should work.
@@SmartBikeTrainers Perfect many thanks, I am still debating between an ant plus dongle with usb extension cable or a bluetooth usb. You can create workouts on the iPad but not Apple TV. However, if you create a workout on any other platform, like a PC for example, it should appear on Apple TV as well if you decide to go the Apple TV route.
Thinking of buying a Schwinn ic4. Do I need to have a ipad or do I buy apple 4k? Or both..I'm new to all this
Hi Tariq, I just order a brand new Wahoo Kicker Core but as a new I’m not sure if is possible to view Zwift on a modern smart-tv just via Bluetooth connecting to the iPhone ? I want it simple ! Best Regards
Depends on the TV and if it supports Air play. Or you can get a USB C or lightning to HDMI and directly connect your the TV. Hope that helps.
@@SmartBikeTrainers thank you so much Tariq 🙏 I’m also buying a new 32” 4K smart-tv just for my Indoor-cycling 👍 regards
That's a nice setup of yours
Thank you 🙏🏼
Still running Zwift on my Galaxy S8.
I would definitely do that. Just get a decent long range Bluetooth adapter that works with your pc. something like this:
amzn.to/3EsypBN
If I had to choose between iPad and Apple TV which would you choose? I have an iPad but would need a new turbo table. Or could spend the money on Apple TV as we have the smart tv in the conservatory where my bikes are.
Personally, I would go with the Apple TV and take advantage of the big screen TV.
I love you shared your option on Ant+ vs BLE indoors. Good video overall thanks
Also picked up a new sub
Thank you 🙏🏼
Hi, im using ipad pro m1 but for me little bit laggy and blur graphic performance. Is there any settings for grapic? Thanks
Thanks for great videos and advices. Are you using ANT+ or bluetooth on your current PC setup? Best regards.
Bluetooth. I find ANT+ to have so many issues indoors. Bluetooth has been very reliable for me.
Personally I like my sim running on Ultra settings at 60+ fps. iPad/Apple TV does not give you this. I use ANT+ with an extension cord with my laptop and have yet to run into any issues.
The extension cable works but hate having cables all over my floor and sort of defeat the purpose of “wireless”.
Anyone tried an Android based TV box? Wonder how that would work out.
Hopefully in the future, they will release zwift for vr headsets. That will be phenomenal
I would definitely consider Zwift if it came out on the Quest 2 as a stand alone app. Wouldn't have a powerful enough PC to run VR on it, though.
Did you see this? th-cam.com/video/5VoJdNF8ZIY/w-d-xo.html
I can't imagine how hot that would be when you start sweating and you have a VR headset on. Next level pain
@@WowRixter
I guess so
@@WowRixter lol play thrill of the fight on quest and i bet you sweat a lot more than you would cycling.
Considering Apple TV but I thought I would have to pay a monthly subscription. True? I would only use it for Zwift.
The subscription is only for Zwift which will allows you to run it on Apple TV or any other device.
Hi, can you tell me, how to connect my Garmin hrm to my new Lenovo laptop?
I have tried al lot of forum tips but nothing seem to work. Your help would be very welcome.
Enjoy your vids. 👍🏼
Do you have the dual HRM or does it broadcast only in ANT+? And are you using Ant+ or Bluetooth on your Lenovo?
@@SmartBikeTrainers i have the dual hrm and i am connecting to my laptop with a bluetooth signal. I hope you can help me. 🙂
Can any iPad models run Ultra graphics? And will the M2 Macbook Air run Ultra graphics?
iPads don’t run ultra graphics. M2 Macs run on High profile and 4K resolution.
Apple just announced the new Apple TV today and it'll have the A15 chip.
Do you have any tests running Zwift on an A15 apple device?
Some great information thank you! I enjoy mirroring my iPad, iPhone to my Apple TV with Zwift too.
Yep, that’s another way to enjoy Zwift on the big screen. Curious, why not run Zwift natively on your Apple TV rather than mirroring?
@@SmartBikeTrainers Everything is at my finger tips on the iPad without using the remote.
@@Refridge41 can you mirror all the screen on the tv from your iPad ?? I have always both sides in black and the image is narrower than the width of the tv . Is it normal ?? Thanks
@@alejandro.a.m Yes. Check the aspect ratio of your TV. I usually have mine set for16:9 but I use all zoom aspect when doing Zwift. Sorry for the delayed response. I was away for a few days.
@@SmartBikeTrainers That’s very helpful. Thanks for the super quick reply.
Hi, great video. Is it possible to run Zwift on iPad and output video to a larger PC monitor via cable? Thanks
Yes you can via Airplay or a USB-C to HDMI cable.
Hola. Vale una Xbox series x ?
can we get it to run on debian linux please?
Hey I thought you need a 4th G or higher?
Sir. The iPad Pro with a keyboard and mouse , will it be similar like running it on a PC? Thanks
Keyboard shortcuts won’t work on the iPad like they do on PC. You still have to use the touch screen to navigate Zwift.
@@SmartBikeTrainers thank you sir
Any Amazon recommendations for a PC to run Zwift in 4K? Maybe in the $400 range ? ( if that’s even possible)
I’m using my AppleTV for zwift on a
big screen smart TV ….it’s very good . (But I wanted to upgrade this year ). Maybe Zwift will have a 4K version for the AppleTV 4K this year ?
Good News! I am still in the trial period.
Hi! I have a Question.
Can i run Zwift on my Iphone and then Stream it to my Sony TV?
Depends on your TV. Newer TVs allows you to do that. I was able to do it on a Samsung tv.
Redmi pad SE?
Gaming PC for the win
The latest map is giving my gaming pc a workout😁 i noticed that zwift's graphics is getting more demanding.
Right… the Makuri island is intense.
Anyone tried using Rasberry Pi connecting to a 4k TV?
How about on a fire stick?
Zwift doesn’t work on a Fire Stick
Can this be run on an Xbox?
No, you can’t run Zwift on an Xbox.
Can I run zwift on a Chromebook??
Chrome devices aren’t supported as Zwift isn’t coded for Chrome OS.
I want to get my gaming pc back out of the cave. I need a laptop. I’m thinking of MacBook Air. M1 chip.
I had high hopes that you weren't going to recommend Apple products. I have the apple TV 4K and I absolutely hate it!
Tried to use my win11 gaming rig with 3080 for zwift. Longest session was 8minutes until zwift crashes without any error. Just freeze and shut down. I gave up after 12 crashes. No money from me for zwift sadly.
Samsung A8.
I mean Apple TV !!
bluetooth is great when it's not dropping out.
lol who would have thought that you have an alienware PC!
👍👍👍👍👏👏👏🇦🇹
Nice Apple advert 🙄
Watch this video Only if you are rich
I do it the poor man’s way. Zwift on iPhone, screen mirror to Roku on a dirt cheap 32” in my trainer room.
Bike arrives tomorrow
You should be able to connect directly to the PC via Bluetooth or ANT+ rather than bridging through the companion app.
If that setup wasn’t reliable you can always invest in a Bluetooth dongle like this one
amzn.to/3OP6AJp
But yes, the Companion app should work.
@@SmartBikeTrainers Perfect many thanks, I am still debating between an ant plus dongle with usb extension cable or a bluetooth usb. However the reason for my doubt is because if the ZC app can connect both my hub and HR monitor i feel like its not as neccessary? Unless i experience drop outs and then I would again be unsure if I should choose the ant plus dongle or bluetooth usb
