Band-Maid's older, somewhat overlooked songs are going to be rediscovered for years to come. This will bring a continuous flow of new fans into their fold. Some of these tunes are heavy, hard punk rock adding a new depth of artistry to the Maids many fans didn't know they had. Of course, for Maidiacs, they always knew about these bitchin tunes long ago and still listen to them all the time. Thx, B-Dead!
If I had to choose one CD to take to an island, it would be this one. YOLO, Unfair Game and Matchless GUM are three of my favourites from them. The instrumental version of YOLO is the icing on the cake.
Only BAND-MAID would toss this amazing song onto the B-side of a single. Every other band on earth would put this out as the main single for their newest release. God they are just incredible.
BAND-MAID.........what can I say, my favorite rock band in decades. I can literally put on any of their albums or EPs since Brand New Maid and not skip a song. Such a rarity in modern rock. I just love the variety of styles they incorporate into their music, never ever boring and always enough pop inspired hooks to cause earworms and enough heavy elements to satisfy my need to head bang. Check out the song Yuragu.
This is their first release when they finally had full control over their music. And they immediately served notice that they were no ordinary rock band. They’d been good, even great before, but they immediately wrote music such as Unfair Game, that showed they had bigger ambitions musically. I’m thinking it was the confidence gained at this point that led to Miku’s epiphany that their goal should be World Domination! The rest is history.
That is one hell of a deep cut you picked there, a B side of a single. Per tradition Band-Maid B sides are fan favorites, because B-M never do filler songs. Great reaction!
THANKS FOR CHECKIN OUT THIS GEM. Just seen this reaction - better late than never I spose. A lot of people skip past it as there is no clip (apart from fan cams). As everyone would have told you, "Alone" was the first song they wrote themselves that management allowed them to be included on an album. This was from the ep "Yolo". Only 3 songs but all written by BAND MAID. The other 2 "Yolo" and "Matchless Gum" are equally as brilliant. So needless to say ... check em out. But this one has one of the best and longest solo's from Kanami. New subby from Aust.
Nice dissonant sound from Kanami's guitar. Just heard her solo in I'll from the Unleash EP. Probably some of the most outrageous dozen notes ever played on a guitar. Less is more/style over substance, call it what you like. I think that a Band-Maid fan and collector has the headphones on the cover of the YOLO single.
Gotta admire your choice of tracks. Unfair Game is one of their best compositions IMO, but doesn't get reacted to a lot, probably because it's a so-called "b-side" -- an entity which does not exist when it comes to Band-Maid's catalog.

Unfair Game forever in my BAND MAID Top 3!! 🔥🔥🔥

MISA: one of the world's few lead bassists.
This is seriously one they're best songs imo it has that early 90's tool sound but it's fast and sleek at the same time, it's just so good

You can feel Kanami's soul when they hit that solo in this track. This in itself is what separates Kanami from other guitarists for me.
Yeah, one of my favorites too. Dark, heavy, chunky ... and lyrics to match.

This one is one of my favorites too...if you want a very cool bass line i recommend Flying high...regards from Chile¡
If this is one of Band-Maids B sides, I’d like to hear what a C or D side sounds like! Oh that’s right, they do have one, the song is called “I’ll”.
I love a short, sweet Kanami solo in Anemone, studio version. You may also like it and compare to the Unfair game solo.
Misa always has my attention 😁
Opsy topsy garden warden!
One of the best hard rock songs that has ever been created 🤘

The best track off the best single !
Totally under-rated song !😏❤️🎙🎸🥁😎🤘
MISA MISA MISA!!!!!
Too bad you didn't find the photo collage for this song ;) .
I hope this song will be play in Yokohama II just to get a good live version.
Yeah, Kanami let it flow a bit longer than usual in this one. Great track. Took a while for it to grow on me but now it's right up there.
When the B side is better than most band's top track.
