Thank you so much to everyone who viewed, liked, shared, and commented on this one! We appreciate how much y'all brought the love! Just a quick heads up that we have an End of Year Party Livestream coming up on Friday the 27th of December at 6pm Australian Time: th-cam.com/users/livekKIwaoeSzNA?feature=share We will be drinking, chatting, and probably doing a few more reactions! It would be rad AF if you could join us to celebrate the amazing year we've had on the channel :D
Double helping of B-M, a good way to start the weekend. GroovyMaid followed up by AnthemMaid. Thanks for the reaction, gents. And they leave flubs/missed notes in on the lives, the few they have anyway. See Puzzle live for an example if interested.
They don't leave all of them in. Even in the example you gave, there is one fixed. But it's one note fixed and the rest left as is. I have absolutely no issues with it.
DUDES: Thank you for reacting to our Maids again! Great reaction! I especially liked you highlighting the short half bar pause in Don’t you tell ME after the blazing solos. BAND-MAID does as good a job as anyone I can recall in integrating brief silent pauses in their music to great effect. And they typically punch back so HARD when the music kicks back in! I love their use of the pause technique at 2:59 in The OMV Non-Fiction Days right after “Oh YEAH!” and leading directly into Kanami’s blistering solo. What a band!
My favorite part of "Don't You Tell Me" is the look of love on Akane's face after Misa and Kanami do their thing. The band's admiration and respect of one another is part of that infectious quality. And no one, in any profession, enjoys their job as much as Akane loves playing drums in Band Maid.
Great reaction, guys. 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺 I fell down the Band-Maid pigeonhole in 2019 (song “ Dice” sucked me in ). If they come to Australia, all my dreams will come true.
Yes !! Infectious is what their concerts are. I’ve been to 7 concerts including Japan! They never lose their humility and connect with the crowd. Each concert gets better and better!!
So - In your experience with BAND MAID did you notice any "mistakes" as Raff is hinting at? I went to 1 concert - I did not notice any "mistakes" and the many individual - not produced - videos don't seem to show any either. I know that the sound is mixed over again but BAND MAID doesn't make any noticeable "mistakes" that they would have to re-dub in production. BAND MAID doesn't even use auto-tune in my experience. BAND MAID is that Great!
♥ these chikas! Manners is top tier Band Maid! I do prefer a few of their official videos more than any *current* live videos ♥ MISA & Kanami bass/guitar duel/call response in this! I suggest my fave Band Maid song - *Bubble*
The closest Band-Maid got to Australia was in 2021 for the Splendour festival but due to the lockdowns it became a virtual festival so Band-Maid streamed their set from Tokyo.
It's hard to describe the affect that these ladies have on you, the listener. It's like injecting dopamine into your veins, but so much more than that. They are both a musician's band and a band for the casual listener. Their music is singalongable, yet complex - and believe me you don't hear everything that's happening the first time through - often not even after the 100th, and that means that the same tracks never get old. Add the fact that their catalogue is massive and you have an endless supply of joyous music at your disposal. To a madiac, their music is like oxygen. It sounds obsessive, but not a day has passed in 6 years that I haven't listened to some Band-Maid. And that ain't stopping any time soon. Much more to say, but gotta stop somewhere. Cheers guys and congratulations on discovering the best rock band on earth.
Dude I saw Band-Maid 3 times last year Houston in October, Daytona in May, and Denver in August I took the rail at 2 shows, and they sound studio perfect everytime. Band-Maid is the truth!
Great reaction to two great songs. Good news is Band-Maid's discography is deep and diverse and you've only scratched the surface, so there's much, much, much more great music to hear from them. As for post production for their "Official Live MV", there is always a little bit in there, usually in the mix balance, but having watched them live more than a handful of times in the US and Japan, including this show, their "10th Anniversary Tour Finale at Yokohama Arena, their live sound is awesome! You'll feel like you're hearing studio quality recordings with the additional energy of their presence. Yet, keeping it real, even in "Don't You Tell Me", they didn't fix some of the little "misses" in some of the instrumental parts. You can, also find a few off vocal notes, in some of their "live MV", from time to time, to me that just part of the live experience. Live in person, the energy they give off....through the roof and off the charts. Not to mention, the Maids like to give little extras...like the Kanami and MISA conversations. They will often have extended/added intros and solos as a treat for their Masters and Princesses (what the Maids call their fans) who take the time to attend their Okyu-ji (what they call their live concerts, which translates to "serving"). Keep rocking with the Maids! PO!🕊 🤘😁🤘 For the next song: "Onset" OLMV. Watch MISA closely 👀 "Secret My Lips" OMV and do a two-for with "Secret Maiko Lips" OMV from the incredible cover band Band-Maiko. They are one of the few band which can go head to head with Band-Maid. Funny how these two bands are never in the same room together. 🤔🤭
My opinion of a Band-Maid dynamic.... Miku, the rhythm guitarist and 2nd singer (Kanami is the lead guitarist and songwriter), because she learn't how to play guitar AFTER forming Band-Maid, as a novice, she was given really simple parts to play, with MISA, on bass, taking up some of the slack. As the band and Miku have progressed, so has this dynamic which allows MISA to do what she does and Miku keeping a solid foundation of the song. It is almost like Miku is playing the bass role on the guitar which allows MISA to go "Walkabout".
Great reaction guys, as a fellow Aussie I love seeing more Aussie reactors doing Bandmaid,..... just a little bit of info for you, keep asking for them to tour Australia, because it's well known that the ladies "DO WATCH" the reaction videos, so keep asking for them to come here and we might get our wish 🎉😊🤘🤘🤘🤘
They offered a PPV live stream of this final concert of their multi-national 10th Anniversary Tour, which I watched live at 2:00 AM one night last November. This is how it sounded live. I encourage you to buy the Blu-ray of this amazing entire concert. They were on fire for three hours.
I have that DVD and you are correct! The "intermission - with MIKU's letter" was epic as well. No band I know of has that kind of heart felt letter - or comment - to the fans and band members during a concert.
❤Miku - "Little Pigeon" Rhythm guitar, backing vocals, lead vocals, main lyricist, main spokes Pigeon and band founder. Red rose. PO! 💙Saiki - "Sai-chan" lead vocals, designer and lyricist 💚Kanami - "Mincho", "Kanamincho" lead guitar and main composer 💛Akane - "The Gorilla" or "Ah-chan" on drums 💜MISA - MISA, MISA, MISA "The Barefoot Assassin" on bass
@@Morgowitch I know Kanami has mentioned in several interviews green is her favorite color. Miku as always been associated with her red rose, as well as Saiki being associated with her blue rose. But, I would point to a couple of things which would align to these being their colors. I would look at their merch. When they do individual shirt for each member, the color theme would be matched to each member. I would also look to Unleash!!!!! MV, you will see the color highlights of their their hair is highlighted with all of their colors. And there's a scene where they transition from their live selves back to anime at 2:23, the backgrounds behind them match the colors. And as they fly up to space, they are all associated to their colors. At the "Sailor Moon" outfits you can see the color highlights in their outfits. I don't remember if there was an official post, maybe some of the OG from the beginning of Band-Maid, might have some official color announcement.
@@BRO-HI808 Miku and Saiki colour association I was aware of so I had the feeling that the other colours might have some kind of connection as well. I didn't think of the unleash video.
This, along with a couple other YT videos, is from their 10th Anniversary final concert, 33 songs over 3 1/2 hours including crowd interaction interludes which they do so well, it was streamed live around the world and then released on DVD/Blu-ray. I'm not a musician so if they touched up anything in the video release I didn't notice it.
Their live shows are awesome. They have great stage presence, lots of personality, they obviously like each other and love what they do. Saiki is great at connecting with a crowd and has this intense, supernatural charisma in person that doesn't get captured on video. Miku also does a chat portion in the middle of a full show where she gets the crowd chanting and she's quite the comedian. You can also tell they feed off the crowd's energy and it drives them to push harder. The official recordings do get cleaned up in post, but it's mostly mixing; they don't fix every mistake, so they keep that live feel. Being in the US, I can't complain when they keep visiting us, but Europe needs another tour, and hopefully they finally get to play in Australia in the next year or two...
The live mixes from the Tenth Anniversary finale in Yokohama are great. The HATE? live video and the Endless Story live video are from the same concert. I woke up at 4am local time, to watch the stream. An amazing concert, of note quite four hours. Of course, with some interludes. Endless Story was the last song, and worth your checking out, too.
Great reaction guys. Their new album dropped a couple weeks ago so I am sure a tour will follow in 2025. Let's all pray that they don't forget us and can come down under to blow us away! Rock on 🇦🇺🪃
Dudes, some reviewer/reactor needs to start an Australian Maidics group/ fan club which should contain ALL the reactors in Australia as well readers, so we can petition Band Maid Mngmnt ( which I think is now the band itself) to have Band Maid tour in Australia. Even if it 3 was cities fans would fly to each city to see all the shows , I know I would. I saw Babymetal do a show at the Horden Pavillion with 7 1/2 thousand people turning up. No radio play , no TV support. Hall filled by You Tube viewers alone. Surely if Band Maid wants World Domination , as they often say in interviews....They MUST visit Australia. Can someone take this group idea on ? It's the only way we can get them here.
Excellent idea! I was at the Hordern that night for Babymetal. A top concert, even scaled down for our "small" venue, I can't even begin to imagine what their Japanese mega stadium shows must be like to experience first hand. Count me in as an Aussie Maidiac. 🇦🇺
Melbourne has many smallish, or middle-sized but cool venues well known by bands and music fans alike. I can imagine them playing at one of those places. I mean, there are other Japanese bands who toured Australia. Band-Maid coming here, even if it was 2-3 nights in different cities it'd be awesome!
Yoooooo ThankS MATEsSSS. 🇦🇺 of course I want These Ladies visit here. That’s why we have to make some Noises. I’ll say it Again, if you listening to all Band Maid SongS but never attend or try to get know their Okyuji(Band Maid Concert) that mean you only see a Tiny portion of Them. Btw never see Them in person yet😫. One piece?.. I see funny you mentioned it, me watching more that 3 times already and even picking up some Japanese(language) here-there because of it. For the hands part from UNSEEN WORLD album( remind me of Robin) yes for Saiki(lead singer) with her current hair style, yap remind me of Hancock.. Now you guys definitely need to check their Instrumental FROM NOW ON(MV) and PLAY (live) when you have time…. HOPE BAND MAID COME HERE 2025
Speaking of using the space, this arena has a walkway on the edge of the balcony. During one song, three of them walked around it while singing/playing.
The song is CHOOSE ME and here is the video - th-cam.com/video/Zp2xgesCEY0/w-d-xo.html Also SAIKI plays the same song on piano as a solo - th-cam.com/video/1z7BVaavLu4/w-d-xo.html&start_radio=1
Gentlemen, Band Maid doesn't play a genre, Band Maid IS a genre. Pop, punk, thrash, prog, speed, rock, metal. These amazing girls put all of this in a blender and put out fantastic music that never sounds the same song to song.
Thanks gents. No need to defend pausing to add some insight. Regarding their OLVs and concert DVDs. The studio will re-equalize/re-mix and fix some biffed notes before releasing these. Just recently the band became their own management company so they will have greater control over this, I imagine. In this concert it's minimal--they were nearly perfect. I listened to the livestream (and then about 20 more times over the next month). Easily one of their best performances, especially Saiki. For something different you might want to check out some of their acoustic numbers. Cheers.
I watched the live stream and there were some slight errors and there still there in this version, plus you can tell by the way Saiki sings with the little growls and inflections she adds to certain words that it's Live it's not something she does in the studio. It gets a little polish but as they practice so much it becomes as you see it sort of effortless and almost unbelievable that they can constantly produce such gems time and time again with ease.
They do post-production for DVD but not much. They leave out most imperfections, vocals/guitars because bass/drum hardly ever make any mistakes. But this version, pretty much is how they sounded real time. Many fans were saying that this was one show they don't need to do post-production, that was how good they were. The whole show was epic and their best performance ever, that most fans cried either at the venue or in front of the computer. You can also find many fancam footage recorded on a phone and they still sound great.❤
Don't You Tell Me! Oh, wait! You just did.🤘😂Now, let me tell you something: Some say the Carolina Reaper is the hottest chili pepper with a Scoville Heat Index of 2.2 million. Nope! It's Band-Maid with a whopping 200 Million View index! 🌶🤘🎀 Thx, Dudes!
I must admit, I've only watched the MV version of Manners a few times. However, I've probably watched the "live" version of Manners/Black Hole a hundred times. I love Black Hole.

I saw Band Maid at the House of blthey have Houes Chicaago which has a max capacity of 1800. I do not know what the minium sized venue would be for the band to make a profit. But for them to do a tour out of Japan I am guessing it is difficult to make a profit as a smaller venue band. SO while I wish to see them every year I can understand that it is very hard to make money touring.
Fellow Aussie here guys. 🇦🇺 👋 Thanks for the great double reaction. Band-maid are almost top of my bucket list to see live, just behind Lovebites, and hopefully also Nemophila, if they make it to our shores. They are also all female Japanese bands, the latter two more in the metal genre, although like Band-maid, hard to categorise as they are so versatile. You like a smiling drummer? Wait until you see Tamu from Nemophila, her smile lights up the stadium plus adjoining postcodes! 😂 The Japanese international invasion was spearheaded by Babymetal, who I saw last year in Sydney, and Hanabie arrive next month, so let's hope these other amazing bands follow suit. Another visitor recently was Korean all girl band, Rolling Quartz. Not K-Pop, these girls rocked the roof off! All of them great musicians btw A couple of suggestions from the above list: Lovebites - go with live performances initially, all excellent quality bluray recordings. Suggested start is Hammer of Wrath, then We Are The Resurrection. Rolling Quartz - try the MV for Azalea or Blaze, and a live performance of Fearless. Nemophila - Seize the Fate (live) then for something heavier, Dissension and Ama-te-ras. Countless rabbit holes to explore! Cheers (Subscribed).
The mix on their live stuff is phenomenal, but they don't correct mistakes as now and then you'll hear a bum note (although not very often as they practice hard).
Any Band Maid fan that asks to react to Manners OMV must have never see their Manners/Black Hole Live Video. This just an OMV which is fine. Most Maidiacs will always recommend live over Studio with a couple of exceptions. You should have done Don't You Tell Me separate and the live pair.
The Misa/Kanami flirtation with Akane's pounding drum intensifying the chemistry in 2017 Shinkiba Studio Coast version is my personal favourite except for Saiki's vocal. I prefer Saiki's vocal performance in this version better.
Not Kanami, it's Miku who sings. Kanami sings once in a while, but not in this oneBut this isn't even the best version of 'Don't You Tell ME'. That was taken off TH-cam ahead of a DVD release along with a lot of other Classic BAND-MAID fro Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo. Now you can only see it on Bilibili.

The 'hand thing' in Manners is simply a reference to the album cover of Unseen World which Manners was on
Also, the shot at 7:26 is a reference to the cover art of their album "Just Bring It".

😢 I don't know if you got it or not but so many of us started with the band breaking in your gate! 😊 you have to watch "Thrill!"
Saiki's new haircut called Hime cut is the same as Boa Hancock of One Piece.. So yeah, good catch.! Po.!
The rhythm guitarist/singer is Miku, not Kanami (lead guitar).
Cheers.
Manners with Black Hole, live is so much better. Basically speaking, Band Maid is always best live.
Not always. The MV versions of "Dice", "Different", "Thrill" and "Warning" are better than the live versions.
@@Davey-BoydAgain, not always. Some live versions are better than mv.😊
I love watching MISA charging over to Kanami...I mean, she is 7" taller than Kanami.
You'll love the live version of Hate?!
They did love it! Go watch it...
Great reaction! On the live version of Manners, you can hear MISA’s bass much better, adds some extra groove to the song.
They want to "Conquer the World" so hopefully OZ is next!
No BAND-MAID wants to Dominate the world with there music .
I must admit, I've only watched the MV version of Manners a few times. However, I've probably watched the "live" version of Manners/Black Hole a hundred times. I love Black Hole.
I love the groove in Manners.
This is a band that could have had 10th anniversary Best Of CDs vol. 3-6 too

🤘🤘🤘
🤘🥰🕊️👀

Fellow Aussie here guys. 🇦🇺 👋
Thanks for the great double reaction.
The Japanese international invasion was spearheaded by Babymetal, who I saw last year in Sydney, and Hanabie arrive next month, so let's hope these other amazing bands follow suit.
Another visitor recently was Korean all girl band, Rolling Quartz. Not K-Pop, these girls rocked the roof off! All of them great musicians btw
A couple of suggestions from the above list:
Lovebites - go with live performances initially, all excellent quality bluray recordings.
I second this!!
If you want to know if they fix bad performances through post production, watch fan cam videos.
Band Maid doing Band Maid things....
This good but the one from 2019 is great
The Misa/Kanami flirtation with Akane's pounding drum intensifying the chemistry in 2017 Shinkiba Studio Coast version is my personal favourite except for Saiki's vocal. I prefer Saiki's vocal performance in this version better.
🦘
The original song has the pause but not the dueling
band-Maidはheavymetalではありません。hardrock***です。
Not Kanami, it's Miku who sings. Kanami sings once in a while, but not in this oneBut this isn't even the best version of 'Don't You Tell ME'. That was taken off TH-cam ahead of a DVD release along with a lot of other Classic BAND-MAID fro Studio Coast and Zepp Tokyo. Now you can only see it on Bilibili.
Good reaction!👍Next!Japanese Female Heavy Metal Band 🎥「LOVEBITES」 rRising/SOLDIER STANDS SOLITARILY🤟CHECK!!🎸🎧
