Hi! Thanks for watching my tribute video to undoubteldy, the best thing that happened to Star Wars' sequel trilogy, Kylo Ren/Ben Solo. I absolutely love his character arc, the downright badass aura he has around him and also the conflicted nature. Lot of people will disagree and hate on the character, but everyone has their taste and opinions. Of course, here's my attempt at reflecting all of these traits in a short clip. Hope you enjoyed!

I honestly think that if they just made the ending where Rey dies and Ben lives it would've made the movie a whole lot better. Rey fulfills her destiny by ending the Palpatine bloodline and Ben fulfills his by living on as a reformed person.

@Nekaita Luke felt darkness in him, so he tried to kill him in his sleep, and that's where he was hatred towards the jedi started. Also, he's the grandson of darth vader, so he feels obligated to follow the path of darth vader

Kylo Ren's design and Adam Driver's performance completely carried the trilogy; he was the only thing that wasn't drop dead boring about it. No one else could have done it.

I feel like it was a redemption for what anakin couldnt do. Save Padme. I feel like they wanted to pull some shit where Kylo was more powerful than Vader by doing the one thing that Vader never could, and when vader tried to he wanted both him and Padme alive, but Kylo sacrificed himself for Rey which makes him so much stronger than Vader and also showed how he managed to turn from light to dark to back to light which also made him stronger.
Well, they completely destroyed his arc and character in the last movie. They should have killed him at the begining before he became a joke and an incredible bad written soulless character to just drive the mary sue love interest plot, the han solo cameo enabler, and the tiny little hurdle for mary sue which really wasn't even a hurdle. At the end of the Movie his character was unredeemable destroyed for me, so killing him should make sure they don't butcher that character anymore in the future.
I partially liked his character in the TFA movie though. With his mask on he was a fearsome, intimidating, strong, raging and emotionaly unstable character which i could imagine as great antagonist. Without it he was a whiny 10 year old kid, which got ridiculed by mary sue which portrait him as insanely weak compared to how he was portrait at the start of the movie. And the longer his Story progressed the more he became a Plot device with sudden character/emotional changes to drive the plot where it has to end. I guess without Mary sue his Character might have been interesting. He was Emotionaly split and could have a lot of similarities to anakins struggle. sad he had to be ridiculed and formed into mary sues plot device.
Ben has succeeded the one thing that his grandfather failed in the first place. Saving the woman he loved.
I absolutely agree, if Anakin was there, he would've been so proud of Ben Solo.

Ben Solo is hands down my favourite fictional ever. He deserved so much better. Kylo Ren was a product of all the trauma he had to endure.

He was the star of the show. Rey was a good character but the rest of them were average at best. Poe and the stormtrooper were so cheesy, really took away the darkness and depth Kylo Ren brought to the movies....

Snoke's narration that Kylo has killed his true enemy, cutting straight to Ben throwing Kylo's lightsaber is so good. His true enemy really was himself :'( Really strong editing choice.
Also ,Rey's true enemy was herself. She is afraid of herself ,and that's her answer to Luke. The revelation of her true lineage was the most horrific thing she could hear. I think that in TROS darkness rises in Rey and light rises in Ben ,to meet that darkness.

Palpatine should've died killing Palpatine not only ending the bloodline but also finalizing its legacy in the light at the end. I think it would've been more powerful for both characters as well as the imoact on the audience.

Kylo Ren managed to do what Vader could not, bring someone back to life. The sequels may have sucked, but it’s the little things, that you don’t realize until later, that make you tear up.
i wish that the Disney Star Wars was more centered around Kylo Ren. He's a far more interesting character than Rey. Shame.

I hear you. However, the first and second trilogies largely followed a male protagonist. It was really something special to see a female in that role. That being said Adam Driver did an incredible job of moving the story forward. It speaks of what an incredible actor he is despite the lack of very good story lines or conversational words spoken. So given where we were coming from I think it played out the best way possible. I just wish we didn’t have the movie before this one- Rogue One. That felt like a gigantic waste of time. I would have preferred a side story of Kylo Ren & Rey the early years. Then I would have had a deeper sense of their character development. On the whole the latest trilogy lacks story development. Too many pieces going in many different directions. It’s like only going a inch deep a mile wide.

Kylo Ren has got to be one of the most tortured villains iv'e ever seen. I have never felt compassion for other character villains...even if the plot arranges it that way. The story of Kylo/Ben Solo successfully pulled off a complicated character with a tortured past...with even a convincing love story.

Absolutly agree with you that kylo is one of the best things that has ever happened to this franchise, it's inexplicably attractive, his character, his arc, his actor, He is just portrayed so fantastically, if the sequels did even one thing right, it was this.
I literally ran out of the theater when Han's ghost appeared because that scene was too much for me. My dad passed away two years before the movie came out and to this day, father/son moments still trigger me.

oh man, this was a masterpiece. kylo 's potential as a character was so far beyond this trilogy and the "writers" abilities they didnt know what to do with him. he would have been a fantastic character as we can see through these 7 minutes of pure perfection.

Ren has the traits of a jedi..He is mostly calm and collected where as rey fights with hatred. That is the palpatine in her.
He wasn't a sith you make a good point. He occasionally gets angry like his grandpa but is trained well to control it. He only lost control when he loses.
This guy was literally the ONLY reason I bothered to watch the final film. I invested in his character, I cared about him, I was rooting for him and while his ending pissed me off a little I was happy he found resolution and happiness in the end.

and the more you watch it the more you find all the subtle hidden moments and emotional connections. Like when Kylo stops Finn and Rey in TFA before the duel, you can feel and hear the pain in his voice as he says "It's just us now. Han Solo can't save you."

@@jasonraczkowski6001 only three or four things in your reply are correct, it would've actually sucked if luke was alive and turned ben back into the light again, his story is over, the sequels are about the new characters mostly, it was the best choice that ben's parents, han and leia (with a little help from rey) turned him back to the light, and why do you think it should've been a better lightsaber fight between ben and luke? luke died as a hero who saved the last members of the resistance without trying to fight ben, it shows that he still cared about his nephew and he was just buying time for the others to escape without hurting ben, and he had his part in saving ben from the dark side, luke was flawless in the sequels and i dont fucking get why you guys are moaning about it

It shows us much more than the main of phiscological analyses of Kylo Ren by fans.
You can see a child that never had a chance, how the cruelty of his own uncle decided for the rest of the world that he was not right, how lost the hope and the salvation for Ben when even a scavenger like Rey never gave up, she, an unknown for Ben.
Luke´s betrayal for Ben is like the world declarating him the war when he was just a kid and was happy being trained in the force.
How is supossed that Ben would love his father, his mother when the entire galaxy just turned its back to him? Bc of that he´s evil, but is not evilness or darkness, is just a broken heart exhausted of such rejection & hipocresy, great video.

This honestly deserves an Oscar or something at this point....all I know is no matter how many times I watch this it always brings me to tears. The best tribute I've ever seen in my life and probably ever will be. The emotions and storyline this captured is flawless.
Poor Ben. had thoughts and voices planted in his brain telling him he was bad since he was a toddler, felt abandoned by his parents and betrayed by his uncle. He goes to snoke when he has no options left when still a mid teen and that's basically his life.
I can’t lie, I really dislike the trilogy. But this, this does put a smile on my face.

Joshua Basile They wasted Finn, Kylo felt like a secondary character in his own story, and they ruined Luke. They really could have done better. The characters were awesome, but the writing of it all was not great.

The thing I really like about the entire story is that anakin saw padme dying and he tried to save her but in the end he was the reason for her death and luke saw darkness in ben and wanted to stop it and in the end luke caused ben to turn to the dark so anakin and luke both inevitably started what they saw

Kylo is the only character in this sequel trilogy that I actually like. He’s so interesting and complex, well acted by Adam driver, he had everything he needed to be good, but he was caught up in a story that went nowhere and surrounded by characters that were far less interesting. It’s a shame because they almost had it, both TFA and TLJ did him and the story good then TROS came along and screwed it all up

@@seanfernandes3979 the other two also had faults. But they had redeeming qualities. Even if TFA was unoriginal with things left unexplained, it was entertaining and had characters with good potential. TLJ wasted the potential with Finn, Phasma, Rey and the new characters and Canto bight were dull. But it did a great job with Luke and Kylo, had nice themes and felt like it actually told a new story.
Despite its flaws, I liked TLJ's portrayal of Kylo/Ben. My favorite part was him not firing his mother's ship, I had been anticipating that scene since the trailer. A shame we never had a scene between the mother and son.

But what we do know is that they tried a redemption arc with Ben and while it was somewhat good, it was incomplete and in another perspective, overdone. It’s also admitted that Ben wasn’t even suppose to die and it was an addition added in the development of the final movie. This is Star Wars so you should always expect a good ending for the main character as it pushes its traditional message of hope

Second, the redemption of Vador was decided during ROTJ without any introduction in the previous movies so.. I prefer Ben's redemption. Second, Rey becomes a Skywalker because all his life changed by the force and she's the legacy of the bloodline. Ben had to die. The Skywalker saga starts with the born of Anakin and finished with the death of all the Skywalker bloodline. It's logic

Adam's Kylo is probably the only one that sticks with me after the awfully handled sequel trilogy. As angry and hateful he seemed, inside he's still genuinely a good person. He came off as trying too hard to be something he's not. "oh he's not cool because he's trying to be his grandpa vader." that's his character flaw, he's not perfect. Adam did good.
No he's cool because part of his story is that he could never be the next Vader it was snokes manipulation that made him think that's who he should be, it was unrealistic. I think it's clear Ben solo and han had a troubled relationship but I did wish it was shown on screen, like a scene of Leia and Han sending a young Ben solo to Luke's temple.
This is really well done, great job, great editing, the split second cuts at around 3:20, where Han says “hey kid”, and it does the quick cuts about him killing Han, there’s chewie, leia, etc, very well done.

@@lamaosama9342 if you are refering to anakins redemption by saving luke, the act was still committed and the sentiment is still there along with the completion of a character arc. Also palpatine took a while to return so the universe was palpatine free for quite some time.

This video helped me to realise Kylo Ren lived a life exactly like Anakin. He had the fear of power like Anakin's goal to be the most powerful Jedi ever. He got betrayed by his master like council didn't trust Anakin. He lived as dark and died as light and he sacrificed him for balance. Excellent work keep it up!

Kylo Ren as far as we know lived in peaceful time, an easy life as the son of heroes... He has no reason to even fall to the darkside, after 3 movies he never gave any... he is just a 30 y.o man child with no reason to do whatever he does.
