I think that's the point though. Anakin's desire to save Padme, i.e. stop death, was selfish, and so he fell to the dark side and failed. Whereas, Kylo's desire to save Rey from Palpatine and ultimately death was selfless, and thus rooted in the light. I don't think Anakin ever understood the need for sacrifice and balance in the force until he finally saved Luke and gave up his own life for his son.
That was JJs intention, because Vader ist the greatest villain in movie history and kylo can't beat him in any way. So the viewer should be part of his journey to identify with him. The onle way, not compare him 1:1 with vader. But Ryan Johnson fucked up his plans (he filmed SW8 and has never seen the 7th movie), so he has to improvise in the last movie...

Kylo Ren/Ben Solo is literally the best thing in this whole Sequel trilogy. He’s the grandson of Anakin Skywalker and shows so much emotion and conflict within him it’s amazing. I love him and the actor.

That’s the only way to become what you were meant to be.......” Which is why he wants everything to die the rebels the old sith the legacies of the Jedi and the Empire Then when he faces Luke we realize that he is still haunted by his father showing that he is still in pain in torment BUT he didn’t kill Luke his past didn’t die Then we see all throughout the 3rd film his light begin to come forth we see him try and negotiate with Rey then in a way he try’s to save Rey from herself then when he is about to kill her HIS mother reaches out and convinced him to halt then WE SEE his father LITERALLY they re-enact the scene where they killed him and again Kylos philosophy comes to the screen when he says “It’s too late I can’t go back” He believes he is too far gone but then his father convinces him to come back AND this time he throws the saber away he is now no longer Kylo Ren but once again Ben Solo it is literally saying to US the AUDIENCE “Yes Ben chose the dark side in the first film BUT he chose wrong NOW he chose right” Then he saves Rey and in the end Redeems himself for all of his deeds in a way he did follow his grandfathers legacy and he became Ben Solo again I loved his character it was new and fresh within the series and while Vader always has his “badass bad guy” moments in films it always seemed controlled or subdued while Kylos was like an animal like a brute just pure raw and untamed power going through him all at once this edit was EPIC it showed us all of the parallels in his story to that of Anakin’s or even Luke’s it showed his entire story of how powerful and ruthless he could be to then how torn and broken he was to then coming back to the light and redeeming himself this was beautiful and epic on scales that made my midichlorians vibrate on edge I can’t wait to see what you do next KEEP GOING!!!!!!

The difference between Vader And Ben is the voice. Vaders voice is all evil but Ben’s is twisted in a way were we can hear the pain and loss and can hear how broken he is and how he is trying to hide the pain 😔
H I agree so much. But thinking about it, if it wasn’t, people would probably say they wished it was about Rey and he wouldn’t have the same affect. I think it also makes him more mysterious up until the end, and when he truly shows his emotions I think that’s what makes people feel more shocked, because people couldn’t see that potential for him to feel emotions. If that makes sense.

This feels like a trailer for a movie we'll never get to see. Star Wars had two movies (Last Jedi and Rise of the Skywalker) to give us a really great story about Ben Solo/ Kylo Ren and instead they wasted it on finder quests.

From the perspective of an old school Star Wars fan: This edit / compilation film is magnificent. Professional in every way. The middle three films gained a new relevance thanks to the last three. They weren't nearly as bad as people say, and they will age well over time. Kylo Ren was the most interesting character of the last 3 films. Adam Driver played the role with staggering perfection.
The sequels are objectively hot garbage. Force awakens had potential to setup an amazing trilogy( even tho it was basically just a new hope again). And then behind the scenes fuckarounds absolutely erased all chance of that happening. Mostly writing and directing issues. But this edit shows that they had everything they needed to make a masterpiece they just squandered it with lazy writing and bad directing choices.

The. Parallels. 👏 Everyone says it but I’ll say it again but it’s the theme this video conveys: Ben did what his grandfather could not - saved the one he loved. This video was truly a masterpiece not just because of the editing which was MASTERFUL (the transitions, the scenes that somehow went perfectly w the song, the dialogue) but the focus: Ben Solo’s REDEMPTION. I love the choice not to include his death because that’s not what redemption is! Redemption means living and learning from you mistakes and that’s what Ben Solo deserved! I love love love how you used lines all the way from the prequels to the sequels to narrate his journey and show the parallels. The part where Vader said "There is no conflict", paired with the parts where Ben begins to return to the light is absolutely beautiful. All his life he was conflicted between the light and the dark and now, with the help of everyone who loved him, he's no longer torn between the two ❤️

You may catch a lot of flack for saying that considering the hate the sequels get, but I honestly couldn’t agree with you more...people get so defensive about Vader/Anakin when Kylo is mentioned for a reason...because they know deep down Kylo is a worthy heir, he’s the only one who could have filled those shoes, they know that for the kids growing up today, this is their Vader, this is their Anakin, this is their “Chosen One” and so they feel threatened by him. The only character that gets people really insecure about Vader is Kylo Ren...because they’re so alike and people know it, and so they’ll say anything to down play Kylo and lift up Vader, trust me the same would ring true for Kylo if he came before Vader in some alternate universe, I don’t know why we can’t just all acknowledge that Kylo and Vader are both the two best characters in Star Wars...every time someone gets extremely defensive about Vader when you so much as mention Kylo just know...they know that you’re right. Mention any other character and they don’t get nearly as defensive, which tells you everything you need to know. I love Kylo and Vader both but Kylo is so much more human, he just hits all the right notes as a character, he is all the best parts of the prequels and the originals in one.

People also love Vader because he was story driven, showing that all of his hate was to himself all along for not being able to save his loved ones. Literally the best edit of Kylo/Ben Solo I've seen. I had goosebumps over my entire body the whole thing. Just absolutely perfect. This also just made me realize that the memory he experiences with his father in TROS was a mirror memory to what happened in Last Jedi.. except instead of igniting his saber and killing Han, he chooses to toss it away. God I love it. What I wouldn't give though to have even a few more seconds of Ben Solo.. damn. We were robbed.

This makes the sequels look unreal.. man, the lack of effort put into them as a trilogy is one of the most disappointing things of our generation. So many possibilities, so much potential.. wasted. Kylo was so interesting, Fin should have died and not been saved by Rose at the end of EP8 instead of unused through the movies... So much about them upsets me because they could have made the best trilogy if they had just balanced the source material with a creative group of minds brainstorming the entire saga.. not doing one at a time sporadically with new people. Just my two cents.

The sequels are objectively hot garbage. Force awakens had potential to setup an amazing trilogy( even tho it was basically just a new hope again). And then behind the scenes fuckarounds absolutely erased all chance of that happening. Mostly writing and directing issues. But this edit shows that they had everything they needed to make a masterpiece they just squandered it with lazy writing and bad directing choices.

The. Parallels. 👏 Everyone says it but I’ll say it again but it’s the theme this video conveys: Ben did what his grandfather could not - saved the one he loved. This video was truly a masterpiece not just because of the editing which was MASTERFUL (the transitions, the scenes that somehow went perfectly w the song, the dialogue) but the focus: Ben Solo’s REDEMPTION. I love the choice not to include his death because that’s not what redemption is! Redemption means living and learning from you mistakes and that’s what Ben Solo deserved! I love love love how you used lines all the way from the prequels to the sequels to narrate his journey and show the parallels. The part where Vader said "There is no conflict", paired with the parts where Ben begins to return to the light is absolutely beautiful. All his life he was conflicted between the light and the dark and now, with the help of everyone who loved him, he's no longer torn between the two ❤️

Kylo Ren is the best character in star wars
You may catch a lot of flack for saying that considering the hate the sequels get, but I honestly couldn’t agree with you more...people get so defensive about Vader/Anakin when Kylo is mentioned for a reason...because they know deep down Kylo is a worthy heir, he’s the only one who could have filled those shoes, they know that for the kids growing up today, this is their Vader, this is their Anakin, this is their “Chosen One” and so they feel threatened by him.
The only character that gets people really insecure about Vader is Kylo Ren...because they’re so alike and people know it, and so they’ll say anything to down play Kylo and lift up Vader, trust me the same would ring true for Kylo if he came before Vader in some alternate universe, I don’t know why we can’t just all acknowledge that Kylo and Vader are both the two best characters in Star Wars...every time someone gets extremely defensive about Vader when you so much as mention Kylo just know...they know that you’re right. Mention any other character and they don’t get nearly as defensive, which tells you everything you need to know.
I love Kylo and Vader both but Kylo is so much more human, he just hits all the right notes as a character, he is all the best parts of the prequels and the originals in one.

Ivbo I’m sorry but Vader/Anakin is still easily the best character in all of Star Wars. People love Vader because of how badass, cold, and ruthless he can be. Kylo never really showed any of that. People also love Vader because he was story driven, showing that all of his hate was to himself all along for not being able to save his loved ones. And Vader’s redemption actually felt like it had meaning up until ROS. Don’t get me wrong I love kylo, but Vader is just the perfect character

Literally the best edit of Kylo/Ben Solo I've seen. I had goosebumps over my entire body the whole thing. Just absolutely perfect. This also just made me realize that the memory he experiences with his father in TROS was a mirror memory to what happened in Last Jedi.. except instead of igniting his saber and killing Han, he chooses to toss it away. God I love it. What I wouldn't give though to have even a few more seconds of Ben Solo.. damn. We were robbed.

This makes the sequels look unreal.. man, the lack of effort put into them as a trilogy is one of the most disappointing things of our generation. So many possibilities, so much potential.. wasted. Kylo was so interesting, Fin should have died and not been saved by Rose at the end of EP8 instead of unused through the movies... So much about them upsets me because they could have made the best trilogy if they had just balanced the source material with a creative group of minds brainstorming the entire saga.. not doing one at a time sporadically with new people. Just my two cents.
