I love CV. It’s the best, mostly unknown one. Calvin has reached the end of the mainline entries to remake that are the most popular, so I would love them to do CV next. Unfortunately, I think it wasn’t popular enough at the time that I don’t know if they will.
Nothing can ever top Resident Evil 2 Remake for me. It single handily got me into Resident Evil as a series. I absolutely loved the Resident Evil 4 Remake but enjoyed the slow methodical eerie feeling of RE2 more. Being a newcomer to the series, I tried the older tank control games and just didn’t have the patience but respect them so much! lol
Holding your long locks while saying first aid spray is exactly what I thought of when they literally animate using it like a hairspray in RE5 many years back. 🤣
Took me a second to click on to that not going to lie. I was thinking why did they touch their hair it's first aid spray not hair spray. Then I was like oh! You clever bitch.
OG RE2 will always be better than RE2 Remake. It's the little details that OG RE2 nailed that mattered the most. Especially the scenario system, story, soundtrack and atmosphere.
Even though it's not one of the best RE games out there I would definitely play RE6 any day than some of the games placed a bit higher on the list. I think people want to hate the game more than it deserves.
I'd have put Resi 6 a few places higher, I understand why people don't like it, but it was my first Resident Evil game, and I've been hooked on the series since then. I've got the platinums for RE2 Remake, RE3 Remake, RE4 Remake, RE5, RE6, and RE Revelations 2. RE2 Remake's platinum was a slog, so many requirements and useless collectibles, RE3's wasn't too bad, RE4 was just a lot of fun to platinum, RE5 was annoying since I game offline, RE6 was a hell of a grind, and Revelations 2 was difficult, but a good difficult.
@hey-lk3zm Yeah, Nemesis was not at all a challenge in the Remake, well except the final boss version on Inferno difficulty, you can barely even move, and the triple slam attack is a one hit kill if you fail to dodge.
RE 4 was my first, so Leon is my first favorite character. Then, Chris and Jill, followed real close by Claire. And Albert Wesker will always be the top villain. So much charm hiding the corrosion inside.
I loved RE3 remake .. I agree on the cutting out the best parts of the OG game .. plus FLOWING the RE2 masterpiece.. still loved it ! RE2 and RE4 remakes are masterpieces in my opinion.. Code Veronica blew my mind graphic wise on my Dreamcast .. the story is amazing.. now it doesn’t hold up .. personally I’d love to see ALLLLL OF THE GAMES REMADE .. the first one yea .. big time .. with Zero built in.. maybe even RE7 as a third person DLC.. I personally think RE8 looked pretty damn cool😊
I like RE3R for what it is but I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t disappointed. Especially in comparison to the original. Still the chemistry between Jill and Carlos helped and I just love the dodge mechanic. Made all the boss battles a blast. I don’t get the love for Village at all. Feels like Capcom just wants RE to be a supernatural series at this point cuz they are outta ideas. It’s ok at first but definitely peaks with the doll house section imo. Also Chris is beyond unlikable in that game.
While I played RE2, RE1, RE3 and RE:CV,(in that order) RE4 was the first RE I ever finished and played multiple times. I might get the RE2 remake one day just to say I finished it.
Never heard any good things about RE5 & RE6. I’m new to the franchise but every time I listen people talking about these two, it’s nit for good reasons.
I love the original RE1 and I've played it as young as fifth-ish grade (I'm 33) but I ONLY play the remake now. It's just far superior in all aspects and it's a much more "faithful" adaptation than 2-4 (and I love all those remakes too, just in different ways).
@Estorium RE1-R was a PERFECT remake imo. Better graphics, the mansion looked darker, they built ON TOP of the original and tweaked the right things that fans of original expected. The others just feel more streamlined, so you end up with less then before, just shinier
and that's why re6 failed its purpose as a "main" installment in the franchise. If ur a developer and you put more care and emphasis on the side game (Mercenaries) much more than main story, then why not just name this game something else and better be a spinoff entry (Resident Evil Mercenaries 2)
I hope there’s still room for fixed camera and tank controls for RE. They were at their best for me then. Side note, been playing an Indie gem called “Viviette”. It’s top-down beautiful pixel graphics in the original Resident Evil style.
It's always a toss up when looking at a ranking of these games. Honestly, I've probably seen 4 or 5 different channels rank them, and it's about 50/50. Personally RE4 is my favorite, but RE2 remake is very close.

Great call. While I love a lot of RE games, the OG RE2 was the first I played, and I’m not sure I become such a huge fan of the series if that wasn’t the case!
I remember the overlapping gameplay of the 2 characters being different depending in whether you played Leon or Claire essentially meaning that you had 4 different ways of playing the base game helping it's replay-ability, something the remake lacked unfortunately. I had been hoping for the remake to be more akin to the remake of RE-1 and would love to see someone do a classic style remake of RE-2.

5 is a absolute masterpiece. The biggest complaint is the bad ai. Which yeah it's bad. But it's easy to play around when you get better at the game. Just don't give them anything you don't want to lose. I usually just give the ai the machine guns because I don't like using them and there is a lot of ammo for it.
Resident evil 7 is not better than the 4 remake. It has more clunky controls, less enemy variety,weakish final boss. I do like the game though but feel village improved most things imo.

From RE7 Capcom springboarded and hasn't released a truly bad game since (think RE2R, Monster Hunter World, Street Fighter 6, RE4R, DMC5 and more), it all seemingly started with the rebound RE7.

Hoping RE9 is still in 1st person to complete the modern trilogy before the inevitable return to 3rd person.
