Great tutorial, Michael Brig! 🎨👏 Thanks to you, I have learned to use Inkscape effectively. Your explanations are clear and precise. Congratulations on creating such valuable and helpful content! 🙌✨
It took me three full days to watch all this full tutorial and try all the features, I also update Inkscape to the 1.4 version. Now I feel confident to start developing my own designs, thank you so much for sharing such a complete tutorial and for taking the time to teach us how this amazing tool works!
If you don't mind spending a minute or two: Is there something I could improve for a future Inkscape course? Or did you feel like something important was missing that I should talk about?
You, sir, are a lifesaver! I just dove into this last night withmy first download of the program. I’m going to be using it for an embroidery machine and already downloaded the ink stitch plug in. To put it lightly, I’m overwhelmed. But so looking forward to learning this program. I’ve spent countless hours designing racing liveries on a racing video game (Crew 2) and this seems almost like a logical next step, albeit a big one. Thanks so much for the clear explanations. (I must add that the program defaults after install had me baffled for the first hour. It wouldn’t show any object that I would create, such as a rectangle. Only the dotted lines would show. My opacity was up to 100%, all the settings seemed correct as per the videos I watched. I played with all the color palates, nothing. I got frustrated, killed the open windows, reopened a new window and it all of a sudden worked. I don’t know what happened. It’s working now, but I’m terrified it will do it again. Otherwise, it is an impressive program considering that it is open source.)
I first used this program in middle school when I got my first Wacom drawing tablet (so a good 18-19 years ago) bc I couldn't draw lineart to save my life. So I looked up programs that would help out, and this popped up. While it took some time to place lines and edit the nodes to make perfect lines, it was well worth it. Inkscape was my first digital art program experience before I got Paint Tool SAI 1 and yesterday I decided to return to my roots and try this out again, but not just for lineart I look forward to watching this tutorial; thank you!
You have my immense gratitude for this video. First, I thought about reading the docs but it felt kinda overwhelming and confusing. Thanks to your video I can see what each option does in practise.
I put it on my list. But I want to have a comprehensive Gimp playlist first with smaller videos explaining everything I can think of and somewhat close this playlist with a bigger beginner video afterwards. So it might take a year or two for me to produce it.
Hey Michael, I downloaded your Inkscape Tutorial, great work, I thank you a lot! Q: do you know anything about Sketch for Mac OS? I'm trying to get me a complete tutorial for this.
Thank you very much for the informative tutorial! I encountered a problem: If i convert stroke to path with text, it introduces weird, elongated triangles to the stroke. Many of these text effects dont work. Tested it on 2 different computers and on win 10 and wind 11. Any known workarounds?
This problem occurs in Inkscape in some places. There are fragments or cutouts when certain fonts are converted to a path. The only workaround is to fix the nodes by using the nodes tool manually. It's a pain in the a** but it is the only solution I know.
Hey man can you make a video on how to do multi layer designs for like a mandala or a map. I want to make them for my laser engraver and be able to stack the layers. However I cannot find one good video on the process. Either way you got a sub from me man good stuff.

Great and clean teaching.
Allah bless you 💓

great job on this and your channel! any thoughts about doing a beginners gimp video? id love that!

@@MichaelBrig cool, i was gonna look at that playlist! thx
Thank You! 😃
An excellent video .I am subscribing you now. It would be helpful to see more videos on creating 3D realistic shapes using Inkscape.
This is awesome!
Fantastic tutorial
im looking forward to watching this!
I hope it's helpful. Let me know if something is unclear in the video.
Thank you
Thanks a lot.
On behalf of students of third world countries, I thank you
It's a great tutorial Michael but it would help if you would identify the buttons on the tools to describe what you're doing, that would be great.
I can't do that retroactively. But if you get stuck somewhere, just give me timestamp and I'll give you the name in the comments.
Thanks for awesome video. I would like to ask if you have any video to help create any type of ruler?
This one might help: th-cam.com/video/JMxVAqx2KUg/w-d-xo.html

Thanks for watching.
In regard to Sketch: I don't use Mac OS, therefore I've never looked into Sketch, sorry.
@@MichaelBrig thanks! As always, your input is very welcome. Thanks
So great job you done

Can you send me an example design? Check my channel about for my email address.
Masterpiece
thank you
what is difference between inkscape svg and plain svg when exporting?
No difference in appearance, but Inkscape SVG saves specific information in the file used in Inkscape, for example for the tools.
