Awesome job! You just need to believe in your skills as much as we do. Everyone is going to go straight to printing this one as soon as you release it!
Dude! All I can say is "Test Pilot!" You have those huge elevators in the back, and I think they are so oversized that they magnify your imputs as a precentage of wing surface and can induce rolls when acting in opposition. The fun factor may be a gyro and let her rip, but when I was watching the free-flight, I saw the batwing turn inside loop in five times it's own length in pitchup! Maybe a little less control surface and dampened input would help? Looks like you found the cg, but the equilibrium equations are very very tight! Bravo! I think you inspire me to get out my Aeronautical Engineering books, grab the 3 d printer, and make my 13 year old daughter into an aerospace engineer! Thanks man! 🎉😂😅🎉🎉
Very cool. Spray paint the top black with a yellow Batman symbol. Maybe the bottom all yellow with a black Batman symbol. I’d like to see it in 2 meter size. Can you make it larger like an Opterra 2meter…?
Congratulations man! That thing is sick. Just perfect it and you can sell the plans online or get someone to make kits or ready to fly models and there'll be Batwings flying everywhere. Super cool man.
Congratulations I’m a huge Batman fan and I was so excited when I saw that thing finally flying thanks for sharing the experience with the rest of us. Really enjoyed it. Great video. Great job. Keep it up. 👍🏻⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Wow your mega productive and great to see your work benefits from your experience, the plane is frightening how slow it can fly and speed up quickly by the larger intake , great design
I've always liked that batwing design the best, but have always wondered if that wing profile could even be finessed to actually fly well. It appears that you've got quite a good blend of airfoil profiles crafted.
My hat's off to you young man! You reminded me of when I was teaching myself how to fly a quadcopter, my knees were shaking so uncontrollably bad that I had to stop, do some breathing exercises and say some shalom's, LOL, get my act together and finally get calm enough to enjoy! Keep up the good work😊
Congratulations, if you model the plane based on fully symmetrical airfoils not only will you end up with a beautiful plane but also a beautiful flying plane, like maybe make the head of the bat wing the fuselage and and the cape the wing with the fan unit/units on his back for ground takeoffs and landings
Needs the airspeed for stability, great effort mate. Good job. And we’ll done with your determination, we need more like you in this mad hobby of ours. Steve UK
You know if the toy can achieve flight, they can scale up and a life size batwing should fly, if someone had the money to attemp its build. Should and will are 2 different things though. With the right materials to build it, i think a life size batwing could achieve flight as well. The Sakkara bird, found in an ancient Egyptian tomb, when put in a wind chamber proved that an odd shaped bird/plane looking toy can fly.
Nice one. Cracks me up, you test your cg same as me; trial and error. I also use coins sometimes as ballast. Broken a few models just test gliding them to check the cg.
Do it! Make it bigger!! 😂 Props to you man, this brings back memories! You've proven that the Tim Burton Batwing design is actually valid!! 👏👍 To echo what others have said in the comments already: Yes, I heard the Danny Elfman music inside my head too... 😁 And (especially if you make it bigger) you could emulate the flaps like on the original movieprop, instead of the rear tips for more natural and subtle manoeuvring. Keep up the great work! 👍
Yeah, I don't want just any X29I want one printed by you. It looks like you've got a really good handle on on your technique. And a 50 mm was probably a perfect size for AA smaller scale. One to get it all all the bugs out, naturally the end. Result would be minimal deflection on the canards and thrust vectoring
I've always known since the very first movie of that showing that it would be a very good RC plane I've been flying playing since 1979 Yes I'm getting old Nice job
Lol you said what I was thinking... Make it bigger... It is way cool to see her fly that well !!! Im jealous lol lets keep improving and get back to flying.. lol
It's getting too much drag from that backboard of the canopy if you put the actual canopy back on it'll cut through the wind better or remove the whole thing. Or make the profile of it smaller lower to the body just a thought, my two cents it's very cool though😎
That's awesome. You should go 40 or 60 sized. Might have to go with twins for power but that would be amazing. If larger flies easier than at that size it should be a dream in the air and possibly super fast. If doable I would put in some low profile landing gear or maybe even retracts so it doesn't have to belly land you can do it. It would be crazy if someone made a giant scale of this bat with a kerosene burning turbine.
The bat wing is really cool. I done one before made it like a stealth fighter fuselage. I was just 6 I wasn't really making a bat wing. I was making a forward sweet back sweep. Wing, I called it a Tomahawk. It pretty good but wanted to spin all the time and I was a lot younger. It was back in. I don't know the 80s. But I see the X29. You're teasing me with it
Ok, the Batwing is incredible but is anyone else totally mesmerized by that gorgeous cloud filled SKY?!?!?! This guy picked the PERFECT DAY and time of day to fly his RC Batwing!!!! IT looks incredible against those clouds!!!!!! Cinematic!!!
Congrats! Had me soo invested watching the video that I clapped when you landed it after the 1st flight....lol Need to start mass production ASAP. Put me down for 2...lol
Tail heavy bro. Move it forward and add a hair of up trim before you throw it and let it gain a head of steam up. I seen it flying in your intro so i think you already figured it out
Nice effort and cool design. Maybe make the control surfaces smaller since you said low rates were needed. That will give you more resolution in the controls.
I am shocked how aerodynamic that shape is. I wonder if a life-size Batwing will be the same! "And where is the Batman... HE'S AT HOME! WASHING HIS TIGHTS!
My first though when I saw it was that the CG will be tricky and low-rates will be key. A gyro, and lighter frame could be huge for this. You have your retirement right there.
Awesome!!! So I definitely recommend buying my delta fighter or the F4D as your first. The batwing is definitely an intermediate to advanced model to fly. Also definitely join my facebook group so we can hook you up with printer settings facebook.com/share/K41LoF4L8owAMPda/?mibextid=K35XfP
"Where does he get such wonderful toys!" lol
lol
He makes em like I do its way more fun than buying em
@Sgt.JamesRay" I don't know". " Well, don't just stand there, go and ask him!"
@@manbehindthemask2010
LOL 😁
I can totally hear the excitement in your voice. This is rad man. You are a hero for making this
True modeler and pilot. Keep trying til you get ot right. Trust me, I get the excitement. Nice job!!
Kyle!!! You're a genius!!! I'm amazed at your designs for a layperson you've blown away any professor or student of aeronautics!! Keep it up 👍
You got to love that Rush of accomplishment! Congratulations, you did a hell of a job on the Batwing. You have a right to feel proud.
It looks just like Darkwing Ducks without the bill. That is crazy it fly's that good. Nicely done!!
Loved that cartoon. Someone should do the plane from Tailspin also.
@potterj09 Ah, yes, I would love to see the Sea Duck! Conwing L-16.
i can hear elfmans score😂 your enthusiasm is shared! bravo!!
Awesome job! You just need to believe in your skills as much as we do. Everyone is going to go straight to printing this one as soon as you release it!
Thank you 🙏
Badass. A bat wing actually aerodynamically legit for lyft.
So sick.!!
I hear the original Tim Burton theme song.!
Too legit to quit.
the Batwing looks absolut great and flies perfect.....thumbs up and thx for sharing👍👍

You to use a Vanessa rig to get it properly balanced Left to right and front to back and a gyro help smooth out your stick inputs.
Congratulations man! That thing is sick. Just perfect it and you can sell the plans online or get someone to make kits or ready to fly models and there'll be Batwings flying everywhere. Super cool man.
Thank you!
@@hotlapkyle If this is capable of bringing joy into your life, perhaps, it could do the same for another. Consider giving the plans away freely.
Got it flying smooth! So stable at the end there..
Thanks! That was my whole design philosophy on this one. Intake volume is everything on this model
I've always liked that batwing design the best, but have always wondered if that wing profile could even be finessed to actually fly well. It appears that you've got quite a good blend of airfoil profiles crafted.
I used what I think is the correct profile for this Wing if you look at the side view you’ll see the whole thing is a true airfoil
You took a movie prop, and made it fly. Bettcha can't do a tie fighter.
Really amazing. Cool.
Great Job Dad
God Bless You and Your Family

Tons of fun! Thanks and do follow through...
Congratulations! I genuinely hope life has many joyful moments such as this in store for you.
Typically any Batman Gadget is always cool AF but that is one next level cool toy.❤👍🇨🇦
Excellent work! Great Job!
Brilliant! It is a beautiful thing to watch.
Well done dude can't wait to see the next time you put it in the air 👍 👏
You are a madman in a good way!

Ya Man , Batwing would be my pick!
Very cool
So very well done! Tenacious engineering pays off ....Great job !
I'm happy for you. Definitely a huge achievement. Super cool!!
Dude, if you put a big enough engine on it, you can get a lawn mower to fly.
And people actually HAVE!
Amazing! Love the build, and your excitement when she flew! It is a great feeling when a build works out so well.
Needs the airspeed for stability, great effort mate. Good job. And we’ll done with your determination, we need more like you in this mad hobby of ours. Steve UK
Great Job! glad you could make it work, looks amazing!
I am very happy for you. I was almost as excited as you!
Can’t wait until you build a “large” version - that will be cool
Can’t decide on size. 64 or 80/90
@@hotlapkyle the bigger the better. You just need adequate power. I definitely would go with big twin edfs for power.
You know if the toy can achieve flight, they can scale up and a life size batwing should fly, if someone had the money to attemp its build.

Well done and Congratulations on your Batwing flight.
Man you rule dude. Congratulations. That is so cool..
KSP taught me anything with lift thrust and weight in the right places will fly and this is proof of it!
Just incredible. can not wait to get our our own printed :) bravo sir
That is sick, love your videos dude

I don't understand a lot about RC, but this is SO COOOL! 👍👍👍
That is awesome! Great job!
This is sick! Sweet man!
Now do the one from Batman Forever. TAS Batwing too! You successfully did it with what those were based on. 👍🎉
I’ll check it out
Once you got it flying right at 9:08 that thing done great! Very cool looking!

I've seen someone print an eagle, that was neat - but I actually liked this. This ranks up with Flight Tests Air Duck that they built (in my opinion)
Very very COOL... PROOF THAT IT CAN FLY. Hope you make plans available, CONGRATS

this is awesome. can't wait to see the next fictional print :]
