    Bunch of your episodes I watch more than once just because they make smile, plus I’ve run out too. Twice baked!

    You guys are making me hungry 🤤
    Amazing display of baked goods. That’s a lot of pastries for $3:00.

      Oh, you would love the pastries here - the price of them is just as sweet!

    OK, all three duly marked on my map app. Actually, we have been to Ideal but I want to check out the other two. Funny - what I really miss about Mexican food are the torta/ bolillo buns. I cannot find anything as perfect at home. Thanks for sharing these great suggestions (just in time for our next trip south)!

      In our opinion, the 24-hour bakery (Tahona Boutique de Pan, just north of Bellas Artes) had the best bolillos out of the three bakeries featured in the video. We agree with you about the humble bolillos and torta rolls - they are absolutely addictive to us! Our first _taste_ of a real Mexican bakery was in the city of Zacatecas - we've been hooked ever since!

    You should write and publish a book with all these impressions. Wil be helpful even for a mexicana born here...

      Hello RedSpiralHand. We hope you're healed soon. A little treat from a Mexican bakery is perfect after some carne asada, or anytime 😉. We're so happy that your adventure has begun. Get some rest and enjoy meandering slowly through Mexico. 🤗🤗

      We don't know how anyone could ever walk out of any of these bakeries 🍪🍰 empty-handed! For us the challenge is controlling the "eyes bigger than the bellies syndrome"😉.

    • @ACoupleofDrifters

      For us, it's either instant coffee back in the hotel room, or OXXO'S somewhat premium brew! One thing we don't skimp on: Mexican pastries!

    Thanks, all 3 pasterias are tempting but my favorite is the first one, "vasconia" .

      @ACoupleofDrifters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Marthe. We're happy to hear La Vasconia is your favourite too, though they're all fantastic. Not too long now until you'll be back in Mazatlán. We developed a bit of an addiction to Euro Bakery's bolillos whilst we were there. Deliciously crusty and chewy. I'm drooling just thinking about them 🤤. Thanks for watching Marthe, we appreciate it. 🤗🤗

    Great video - my mouth was watering (definitely heaven in there!) - can't wait to go back into a Mexican bakery!
    Hello back - it has been a while your videos popped into my feed and we ware busy getting ready to move to MX at the end of March.
    So how was the moussey? Why was it so heavy :)?

    • @ACoupleofDrifters
      @ACoupleofDrifters  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello. We're so happy to hear from yous 🤗🤗. We were hoping all was well with yous. Did yous move to Puerto Vallarta in March? Wherever you've moved to, we hope you're having a brilliant time.
      We're not too sure why our videos aren't popping into some folks feeds. We've seen other people with TH-cam videos say they've been having issues with their subscribers not getting notifications - good aul' YoiTube 😉!
      We spent some of the summer processing sockeye salmon in Alaska (check out our video on that), then house sat in Mazatlán for 6 weeks and are now winding down a two and a half month house sit in New Mexico. From here we're heading south of the equator...stay tuned for some new adventures! Right now we're still wading through old footage from late last year/earlier this year.
      The mouse was filled with a kind of ganache/fudge/chocolate filling. He was a heavy wee chap, but rather delicious. Hope you get back into a Mexican bakery soon. - Fi and Jerry (Your Drifters) 🥰🥰

      @@ACoupleofDrifters OMG! It seems I missed a lot of your adventures in the past few months! As things slow down a bit for the rest of the year I will definitely binge on your videos :).
      No more PV for us - we realized the flights to get there are too expensive so we chose the cancun area where we can still get flights under $300 for kids to come see us... Initially we thought PDC but we didn't like it much (dirtier than we expected, overblown on youtube, beaches very small and filled with stinky algae). So we'll prob stay for a year in cancun - not hotel zone, but the area for regular people...also we ran into an issue realizing our dog can't fly so we have to go by car which is a heck of a drive from chicago...got residency stamp in passport (that was a stressful 2 months too) so we move end of March...putting house on market beginning of feb I think or end of jan...so from Jan on we'll start again getting busy to sell all small things left etc etc...house is 2/3 empty already, but still finding little things here and there. Happy Holidays to both of yous :))))!!!!!!🥰

      You've definitely had a very busy year! We're glad you've found somewhere that's suitable and aa good price for your family to come and visit yous. At least by giving it a year that'll give you plenty of time to see if it's where you want to settle, or you can take trips further afield to scope out other potential places to move to.
      Oh no, your poor puppy can't fly with yous. Is it just the airlines don't allow pets on that route? That's a massive drive from Chicago!
      Congratulations on getting your residency. That's absolutely brilliant and has to be such a relief to have behind yous. It sounds like you're very well organised, you've already got your house almost empty. You must be counting down the days to your exciting new adventure in Mexico. We look forward to hearing about it.
      We would VERY much appreciate you binge watching any of our videos 😉. We know you've got a lot on your plate at the moment, so no worries. We're very happy to hear from yous again and we really do appreciate your lovely comments and support. Happy Christmas to yourselves and your wee family. Ooooooooooodles of Hugs, Fi and Jerry (Your Drifters) 🤗🤗

    Food porn and I mean that in the best way possible! l'm currently visiting California and took the family to our favorite bakery in SF, Tartine Bakery. The parties are outstanding, but cost a quite a bit more than your selections. We're visiting Queretaro next month and I'm hoping we can get our pastry fix at a more reasonable price.

      Hi Jeff.
      Food porn - we'll definitely take that as a compliment! Yes, it's mindboggling how even the fanciest pastries in Mexico are so reasonably priced. We bet you'll find some great bakeries in Querétaro - have a brilliant time there with your family!

    Great video you two! Can you stay in Mexico City as cheap as you can in some of the smaller towns?

    • @ACoupleofDrifters
      @ACoupleofDrifters  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks jaferguson49! Yes, Mexico City can be just as affordable as smaller towns in Mexico. Our preferred hotel in Mexico City is currently $300 MXN for a double bed - about $15 USD, or $7.50 USD each.
      To us, food and transportation in Mexico City also seems just as affordable as it is throughout the country. A ride on Mexico City's Metro (subway) is just $5 MXN (25 cents) and it's an absolutely amazing system. But if you really want to kick things up a notch, Mexico City is the place to do it.
