  • In the spring of 2020, as the world began to adjust to life in the early days of a global pandemic, I began my battle with cancer-specifically, stage four cholangiocarcinoma, which eventually inspired me to start this channel and online community. In this video, I share my story, from my earliest symptons to eventual diagnosis and treatment.
Are you a young person living with a terminal illness, who'd like to share your story? I'd love to hear from you! Email Megan at terminalyetpurposeful@gmail.com

I have a friend who was diagnosed with bile duct cancer 9 years ago, and it returned again this past September. He finished all his of his treatment and was told his scans look great. He turns 54 this year.

Hi, I was born with messed up ducts. I have chronic pancreatitis, liver problems, diabetes, 2 years thos June I had cancer in my colon. And I had my appendix turning to cancer and surgery for that last August. I've had 6 groshong catheters in my chest and was fed IV TPN for 5 years i couldn't eat or drink anything. I wasn't suppose to live past 10 years but I've made it for 26 years. It isn't easy and I'm in pain and sick alot. But I live like I'm alive and not already gone. The doctors the tests the bills the insurance....youre right people don't understand how hard and consuming it is. Keep you're focus on dealing with yourself. Accept love and help and kindness when you need it. There's alot of us who care. Blessings to you. By the way I was 35 when I was diagnosed and I'm almost 62. Hang in there, there is a plan💛🌻💛

You did a fantastic job of telling your story! Please always have hope and faith. My neighbor was diagnosed with cancer when she was 2 years old. It had spread everywhere. They had to remove her reproductive organs and her bladder. They told her parents to let her do what she wants. The doctors gave her a 5 % chance of surviving. On Sept 17 she will turn 24. Stay strong 💙

So sorry you’re dealing with this. I have stage 4 cancer neuroendocrine cancer in pancreas, liver & lymph nodes and I’m also 35. Scary but I hope your treatment will continue to help you. I agree it’s a very traumatic experience. Just subscribed to your channel. I was initially at a hospital in Central NJ with a GI onc who did not have a good bedside manner (wonder if it’s the same doc) and have since switched to a different hospital. I was also diagnosed during the pandemic. Thank you for sharing your story. This is inspirational I am in so much pain. I really needed to hear the part at the end. Thank you so much.

My oldest sister had the same cancer. I’m sure she had it for at least a year + before diagnose. I noticed she had lost a lot of weight. I’m like, you have lost a lot of weight, are you doing some crazy diet…she’d stuff me off. She’s a big girl so she must’ve lost a good amount of weight pretty fast for me to notice it. By the time she was diagnosed she was stage 4. You keep fighting! I’m 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 for you. You can beat it. You’re young and strong. My sister was 71. At that time I couldn’t find much info at all. So, very thankful you’re posting this.

when you have never dealt with health issues before you just trust your dr a lot of the time and don't realise just how hard you have to push for the answers you need. i found this out the hard way, was in a coma and on life support before i got my diagnosis and i'm now permanently disabled. i am still fighting for answers to health problems that aren't yet diagnosed. its exhausting just being poorly, we shouldn't have to fight this hart to stay alive.

Thank you for doing this video. Their is very little out there about bike duct cancer. My sister passed aged 42 from it . It was so far gone by the time it was found she only had 8weeks from diagnosis. We did so much research about it as hadn't heard if it. And hadn't heard of anyone with it. We were told it's mostly an older person disease.
I will you well and success with your treatment x

    • @jennacornwall5243

Hi, I get frustrated when people are told it's a older person disease. Because myself and the majority of people I hear have it are under 50 years old. Actually I've not met a person on their 70s who has had bile duct cancer..So...I kinda this that statement isn't true .
Plus it's aggressive...one of the top 10 most aggressive cancers.
I live in a ski resort town of 10,000 people. They say about 8,000 people yr are diagnosed with this cancer. So I travel hr and half away to get treatment.
Also when I looked up celebrities who have passed away...they were all under 50.
I think Paul Newman's son was under 55.
I'm sad to hear u lost yr sister. It's a sickening condition. I'm sure she appreciated u by her side. Good sister. 👍🏾

hope you're doing well, you seem young and as you said you can keep going and fight it, something that helps me when i get anxious about death is that everyone has to do it, no one escapes, and, although is a bit heavy we all come from a hot dense spot that started the universe and is awesome to know that we may die but our remains and consciusness still are mass and energy that will move throughout the universe. A bit phylosophical but quite beautiful to actually know we can't cease to exist even when our human time is done. Wishing bliss and health your way ❤️

My mother (66) was diagnosed 53 days ago because she all of a sudden turned yellow, like Simpsons yellow. First they suspected Hepatitis, the gall bladder stones and then two days later they said it’s cancer because they also found shadows in the lungs.
A week later it got the name stage 4 bile duct cancer with metastasis in the liver, abdominal area and lungs. She’s been in three hospitals since then, got Covid in one, almost died of a sepsis, but right now she’s home. She had her first chemo two days ago with no symptoms, just very red skin. She has to get a stent put in every three month to get the blockage repaired. I just hope that the chemo will make the tumor smaller and the metastasis shrink or go away. This type of cancer is the worst. So evil with showing itself way too late.
After watching your video I have hope now that she can live a bit longer with the right treatment, that she will have quality of life, that we can soak up the time we have with her.
I also hope that you will get through this and live as long and as healthy as you can. You are a trooper and very inspirational. Thank you for sharing your story. I will tell my mom about you tomorrow.
PS: We also hate to have to explain this type of cancer…”can’t you just take the gallbladder out?” A penny for every time we’ve heard that…

Right now my biggest complaint is the awful nausea I am experiencing. I’ve lost 45 lbs in 60 days and could so identify with what you said about not eating, not wanting to eat, not finding anything even tempting in the way of food. As a large girl, this too is something I’ve never experienced before. I just ordered the essential enzymes you suggested.
