    Getting Sam Witwer into acting for Star Wars was this series' greatest victory. And Vader being a bit of a theatrical drama-queen is 100% on brand for the Force wielder formerly known as Anakin Skywalker.

    5:19 the similarity between Ahsoka and Galen's lightsaber stances is not a coincidence when you consider they both had the same master. Anakin may not have trained Ahsoka before she became his apprentice but Jedi tend to become highly proficient in the stance that their master prefers - Anakin preferred Form V (as did many Jedi during the Clone Wars) and so Ahsoka, regardless of what she was previously taught, would have learned Form V the most from him. When Anakin became Vader, he used all 7 Forms relatively equally in his own personal style (with the only real exception being Form IV I think), which he had to master because of how his cybernetics had changed him. He was no longer agile, so he became a wall. But he would still have taught Galen everything about lightsaber combat and Galen, either by coincidence or via picking up on subtle cues from Vader during Form V demonstrations, chose Form V has his preference too.
    The reverse grip is something that can be used with the more complex Forms (I've never heard of a master of Form I, II or III utilizing a reverse grip), while all 7 Forms can be utilized with a single lightsaber, dual lightsabers, a saberstaff (aka double-bladed lightsaber, like Maul), saber club/shoto (oversized and undersized variants of any lightsaber, designed for larger or smaller beings).

      so i researched it and it is called Jar'Kai in Legends (Source: jedipedia). Galen, Asajj and Ahsoka used them all and its actually a type of Form VI. And yes reverse grip for the first 3 would be just too bad with too many disadvantages.

      @jacoblansman8147 2 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      @@dominikberger412 my source (Wookieepedia) says Jar'Kai is not a lightsaber form in the same sense that Forms I-VII are - rather, it's a method of using any of those Forms by wielding two lightsabers instead of one. • @TheKueiJin
      @TheKueiJin 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I hope to god they never touch either. I absolutely loathed the story of Fallen Shitter, with the worst possible characters in existence. HK-47 might have been the best droid in the KOTOR games but i remember all the other characters too. The droid in Fallen Order is the only one that actually deserves to be paid for the acting. The writers for the rest of the characters should have been fired day one, and anyone else in the game deleted.
      While KOTOR games did combat horribly, it made up for with characters, story, environment, THEME.
      Fallen Shitter is entirely sub-par... sub par combat, better in all the games before KOTOR, has utterly ridiculous story. Better in a fucking Star Wars DANCING GAME. Atrocious characters, the bug eye lady still disgusts me with how useless and fucking badly she was written, not to mention how alien she looks.
      And for all the shit that i throw at Jedi Fallen Order, it's still the best star wars game that came out in the last 10 years, hands down, no questions asked, and I replay it every now and again because it really is a decent game, but THAT'S why i don't want Disney/EA to touch the games, because even their best is just barely mediocre.
      Star Wars needs to be given to a dev that is actually capable. Give it to Arkane, to Obsidian, at this point i'd say even Treyark and i frigging loathe CoD too. Just stop beating the dead horse with more crappy movies and games.

      @@JustinVanTrump oh I'm so glad you mentioned the ruin of BioWare. I'm glad you're fan-boying about the destruction of any good faith one might have had for BioWares take on Star Wars. I mean one would think that way considering the emo girly-man that they considered would be the logical next step for Revan. From shrewd, calculating, master manipulator to a slit-wrist, the-only-dark-being-his-bangs whiney pissant that he is in TOR. Yeah... Awesome.
      And now let's focus on what they did afterwards. Considering the horrible necrophilia that is the book Revan, where they utterly watery-shat upon Obsidian's, reverting both the web of intricacies that Traya cast over Revans actions as well as Traya herself. Then the "game" picks up the slack and utterly ruins the maybe-Exile. Turning her into a fucking force ghost. The one that at the end of it all could not fucking connect to the frigging force, is now a fucking force ghost.
      While i do talk shit about TOR, cuz it isn't even a good MMO, it does have amazing parts. Namely the cutscenes. Never in my life have i seen better contained stories within what's supposed to be a trailer, the people that made those trailers should have been given free reign to the franchise, and we'd prolly have been happier as a whole.
      But the previous mention that Jedi Fallen Order is the best content of SW that we have had in the last 10 years, still stands.

    1:57 I think the reason why he still went along with Vader even after everything that happened has to do with his mental state in general. He might not admit it, but deep inside he seems to be torn apart by what he's doing. The line he gives to Organa on Felucia after beating Maris pretty much sums it up:
    ,,You really think she's free? She'll carry the memories of what she's done here......Forever....."
    Even though he has been nothing but a slave to Darth Vader this whole time, he still sticks by him because he has nothing else, nobody else. He's a monster and Vader was the only one who would take him in (at least as far as he sees it). That's not to mention the fact that he doesn't know of another life apart from serving Vader, surely he must have conditioned him even since he took him in to never question what he does and just focus on doing it. He was the only ,,parent" that he ever had, so he has somewhat of a emotional connection to him (it could also be the thing from the RDR series as you put it: when it comes to family people have big blindspots that are hard to reveal). I think that if he had managed to survive the encounter on the Death Star, he could have started a new life, but it was too little too late for him.
    The Starkiller clone, on the other hand, has no such emotional attachments to Vader. That, along with the newly gained memories, experiences and lessons from the old Starkiller, pretty much gives him all he needs to free himself from Vader.
    In conclusion, I think it makes a lot of sense why the OG Starkiller stood by Vader until he tried to kill him while the clone, after getting that specific memory, had everything he needed to flee.

    See I loved this series. It was one of my favorites. Every once in a while I find myself going back and watching the scene where galen gets off the elevator and as he tries to find Vader or Juno he keeps getting surprised and the environment gets all hazy and almost something out of a horror movie. Then the voices he hears of Juno is great. The one that always stuck with me was the line from Kota which is, " You're Vader's puppet. Just a body filled with the memories of a dead man." The first time I ever heard that while playing gave me chills. Another thing I loved was the interactions between galen and Vader when they locked sabers. My favorites were during the final phase is when galen is going full super saiyan on Vader and it is just phenomenal and almost heart-rending. The three of course being, #1: galen: I'll kill you! Vader: Rise above this. She means nothing. #2: Vader: her death gives you strength. Embrace it. Galen: I will kill you! Vader: if you wish to join the woman, so be it. #3: Vader: she loved a dead man. She would've never loved you. Galen: YOU WILL DIE WHERE YOU STAND. Just that whole sequence is mind blowing and one of the best things I remember. When I think about iconic or scenes that make players stop in their tracks I'd like to think this is one of them. At least for me anyway. I'd love to hear everyone else's thoughts

    Also I don't think he's actually a clone. Definitely seemed like it was all about Vader getting into his head IMO.

    So, the thing that I'm more upset about getting cut, was that before this game came out, Nintendo Power did an article on it, and part of the original idea was that at some point, Boba Fett was going to be on Starkiller's side, and that you could play the campaign in Co-Op with p2 being Boba. But since the game got rushed to the point the single player was very grit, spit, and duck tape, they had to cut the Co-Op.

    If you need more story for the Force Unleashed 2, and don’t mind reading, I’d recommend finding the official novelization for the game. It smooths out some things, and explains a few weird things.
    It also gives a heck of a description for Force Repulse so you might want to prep yourself for that.

    I always took Vaders last lines as him saying "The jedi were right; Attachment will lead to fear and pain and you wear your fears around your neck. Fears I will use as a leash until you do what I could not; let go"
    Also with that scene, vader is looking from left to right and Galen from right to left. As we know, in a lot of screenplays when a character is moving forward is is from left to right on screen. I think this was on purpose. I think you could say it was to show that in the end, no matter what Vader does, as he moves forward, Galen will always be focused on him up until the/his end
    Great video as always, friend!

    Weird how I never knew how little time this game had to be developed. I actually always preferred it over the first game. Even with it being fairly short and I definitely agree with a couple of the story flaws you mentioned, I remember the gameplay feeling so much smoother than the first game back when I first played it. Felt powerful and ridiculously broken in the best way along with those smooth animations.
    Looking forward I personally hope Jedi Survivor is exactly what Fallen Order is, but with the brutality and power both Force Unleashed games had.

    While I loved the first game with a passion, the second game failed so spectacularly that I just couldn’t feel the same. Beating it in, like, 3 hours was just unacceptable for a game I bought the Special edition of. Plus there was absolutely nothing to do on Dagobah. Honestly I believe this game and it’s predecessor should get a remake. If for no other reason than to a) finish the story and b) make the second game longer with combat that doesn’t shoehorn you in to finishing your combo with an aerial attack. Yes, I remember this stuff.

    If this game wasn't rushed I feel like there would have been a twist at the end revealing that the Starkiller clone was the real
    Galen Marek. I feel this way due to Kota. For explanation, cloning a force user is impossible, it was extremally lucky for Vader to clone versions of Starkiller that would die shortly after. Kota knew it was impossible to successfully clone jedi (and seeing as he was blind), he had to rely purely on the force to know his surroundings which would help him identify the fake from the real. Since he had doubts about Starkiller being fake it makes some sense that the big plot twist would be that
    Starkiller was
    truly Galen Marek.

    • @marcusromulus5646
      @marcusromulus5646 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Cloning a Force User isn't impossible, and Kota is wrong when he says "..its never been done." The Clone brothers X1 and X2 are both force sensitive and there were several other (Jango) Clones who were also force sensitive. X 1/2 were Cloned from a Jedi called Falon Grey. X1 is technically Legends but X2 is Canon and he had a brother called X1 which is also Canon, but the character of X1 himself is not. IDFK why they made that part of the lore so convoluted. In theory Kota should be able to tell them (Galen and Clone) apart but in the dialog Kota keeps talking about his (Clone's) power with the force, which to me sounds like Kota is comparing their force power to Galen's and using that to determine they are the same. Plus in the X1/2 story Falon Grey himself mixes them up at one point so maybe you can't tell them apart using the Force.

Either, way it doesn't matter, I still lobe both games, as they are my Childhood, and Honestly, I feel like there's no game series more deserving of being my Childhood, not even Halo, which I claim to be my preferred game series.
