Hey Gamingwins, I just want to say that I appreciate you. You clearly put a lot of effort into every video. Your channel may not be big yet, but you consistently release bangers. Keep going, and I hope you'll be as big as Cinemawins one day
One of the first more mature games that I ever played and it absolutely blew my mind. This game has a special place in my heart and no surprise it's the Arkham title that I return to the most.
The first girl I went out with WAY back in High School saw the trailer for this game and said "eh, it looks ok." She SUPER doubted it then, but I never learned if she liked it, since I never saw her in person and barely talked to her again after that day. Never played it myself but need to give it a go someday!
Was so excited for the game when it came out that I was convinced playing thru the demo would unlock the full game for me somehow. Breaking all the tvs, speed running it, anything I could think of. A win I think you missed was the tease for Arkham City in the hidden room of the Wardens Office. As well as the fun mystery of who the Spirit of Amadus Arkham was.
Currently playing through this gem for the first time. Played City and Origins, watched a playthrough of Knight, but haven't played Asylum till now. Loving it so far!
This game is a masterpiece and always will be, period. I’ve replayed this game at least 6 times! Never gets old! One of the Best PS3 games I’ve ever played! I’ll never forget this great and enjoyable game!
Whenever you pointed out the sequel foreshadowing, there is two similar ending scenes that was pointed out to me since I never finished the game. One was to killer croc, second was for scarecrow, and the third was for bane. The only way to see them is to see how much you died to each of them during the games run.
1:19 Oh God I never realized you can't do that. Would be even scarier than before if the voice actor talked without his lips. Try it yourself, it's not easy.
i remember listening to the interview/therapy tracks with the villains a lot back when i was little. and the concept art with the bios of each of them was just flat out gorgeous, everyone of them has their own style ooze out but still maintain the same form throughout all of them. thankfully i still have the copy my dad gave me and the same ps3 he had all these years. really should revisit this game sometime
I think a good game to do next is days gone it got swept under the rug cause it released like right before a big game (I think) but great story and game design
12:50 I do too, in fact the demo itself was what got me interested to buy the Arkham Asylum game and I loved it so naturally I felt obligated to get the entire series and here we are now.
Another think I liked about this game was the character bios they did. They made it interesting to read, they drew out the characters in a comic book style and the upgrades in the menu are drawn out in comic panels. Yes it’s a batman game but they want you to remember it’s also a comic book game and I think this also helped in the whole renaissance of comics in media
Your videos always lift me up. It is nice to see someone praise a thing that somebody else created instead of this pointing out the errors or calling themselves offended for a this reason or that reason. Props to you and keep them awesome videos coming !
By far my two favourite trilogies, The Arkham Series and The Tomb Raider reboot (Which I can't wait to see you play!) , I remember my dad playing this game when I was eight and I was sat on his lap helping him out with the Riddles, by far the best moment had to be when you solve them all and you hear Riddler getting arrested, he's the biggest nerdiest batman fan you'll ever come to meet and this is when he introduced me to my favourite comic book universe, the nostalgia this gives me is unprecedented... and I'm really thankful that I stumbled across your channel, it's nice to see people recognising the talent it took to make a game like this even back in 2009. Every time I replay this game I remember the feelings I had while playing it the first time, the unease, the fear (i hated the killer croc bit, especially with a headset, it makes me feel yugh.) and most of all excitement for the next game. Running to my friends in Primary school and telling then all about how I beat Bane first time round, and I'll keep revisiting these games just for that. I can't wait for your next upload, have a nice day my dude!
A huge win for the game for me is the amount of collectibles and Batman lore that can be found. To me, it really completes the experience by finding trophies or solving riddles just to have another page of lore to fawn over
I think one of the better wins from the game was just how real all the characters felt. The characters and the area of the game mix so well together with how truly Gothic they all are.
And another new video from tha PV-man! A great game that got me into DC Comics especially Batman, and that more so than any movie could do. A great many things started with this. For me and for gaming in general. 2:22 Great chuckle ^^ Was pretty much the same I thought 3:30 fun fact: you can actually see Gordons skeleton in Detective Mode. BUT the model used for him in this scene is actually another Harley. Probably to save resources 4:26 After replaying the Arkham Series I noticed just how much all three titles have this horror vibe at times and play with your mind, they have really good horror moments in this scenes. All those camera angles and especially those many fake-outs 4:36 fun fact: As soon as Batman gets the red eyes or is in one of Scarecrows "worlds" you get a Joker laugh every time you try to activate your detective mode. Very very subtle and hard to hear though in the "real" world, more prominent in Scarecrow's one 4:45 them bugs make some real crunchy sounds when you walk over them 4:49 that whole scene before that was so scary for me the first time. I even stopped and switched off for a couple of days before continueing. 5:25 the Scarecrow scenes are also made to be played kind of like older 2D platformers. And as a little easter egg should remind older players of the older Batman games which were exactly that 6:17 a slight oversight (or maybe not enought time/budget?): Through the course of the game your cape (among other things) gets damaged more and more, but if you return here the same cutscene plays with the still intact cape 6:50 ah, you cut just before the jumpscare. It's missable, 'cause it's Killer Croc that jumps up here and, well, not after you defeat him 7:00 or more like "why is his face soooo big? Like three times the normal size 7:49 An important fact for next game 8:42 chuckle No 2. Also all names on the list are easter eggs 8:48 as if she isn't thin enough to easily fit through the bars there 12:47 there are three versions of that ending: in one Bane grabs it, another is Killer Croc and the third is Scarecrow. Which you get is random
all the subtle nods to the 2 sequels and even some reappearances from the prequel of items to remind us of boss fights and villains were really enjoyable. i also really liked how they managed to convey the knowledge of villains they didn't include in this specific game even though characters such as Ra's Al-Ghul and Mr. Freeze appear in later games, characters like Tweedledum and Tweedledee who we never get to see are always fun to read and learn about from the alibis and case files they provide. I like how they extensively show research from multiple sources including comics, TV and animated series. really big win point here.
4:35 if you turned on detective vision before interacting with Gorden you would notice that he doesn't show any skeleton or anything. Hinting at the fact that it was Batman's hallucination.
now this is a win for the overall story in the games but I LOVE how in each game they open more and more of Gotham ( not including origins ) and in Arkham Knight it made Gotham feel big without it being so massive it's too big. By opening more of the city to the player you get to run around more and have so much fun. It's amazing!
I remember before this game, super hero games just weren't up to snuff. The one most people remember is the old Spiderman 2 game from the Sam Raimi movie because of the web slinging, and other favorites were side scrolling beat em ups. But this game, this series.... Just like Dark Knight movie kind of started the huge push that Super Hero genre can be seriously amazing, and make serious money.
The Arkham games are some of my all time favorite games, it doesn't hurt that I'm a HUGE Batman fangirl. This game (and Ghostbusters The Video Game) was the reason I got and Xbox 360 back on the day, it was the first collector's edition I ever bought as well. This game may not be a "perfect game" but to me it's damn near perfect. When the remastered version came out of the Xbox One I bought it the day it came out. There are too many wins for me to list here, but still my favorite line to this day is The Joker saying " paging Doctor Howard Doctor Fine Doctor Howard" I always laugh at that reference.
9:56 the funny thing is… my copy of Asylum really is corrupted so if I exit to the main console menu or even hit the side menu to check my achievements it soft locks and I have to restart the game, and when I do I always lose all my save data even if I had saved and quit previously in the run. So if I had gotten that far into the game I wouldn’t have actually been all that shocked.
For me Asylum is actually my favorite of the Arkham series just because I like the premise so much and how its sort of a Metroidvania which was such a nice surprise when I first played it.
5:50 you say that but Batman did the exact opposite in Arkham Knight by telling Alfred and Cash that Barbra died even though he saw Joker pass her the gun which should be enough evidence to see that it wasn’t real
You make me see videogames in a whole different way than before. It's really impressive how you see and discover all of the small details in the games you review. Awesome stuff, keep going.
Did you know that in the Warden's office, there is a secret wall that requires 3 explosive gel to enter the room and you can see concept art for the sequel Arkham City? Nobody knew about it as it couldn't be seen via detective mode and one of the devs ended up revealing it through social media.
I remember playing this game as a kid and what horrified me was the first encounter with scarecrow. At first it was the eerie music followed up by bugs and a flash of his shadow. Then the nail in the coffin was when you enter the room the first time there's nothing. Then you just hear these whispers all saying get out of the room. Then everything in the room starts acting up. As a kid I remember I couldn't play that section without feeling like I was in a horror movie.
I've watching this video like three times now. The first Arkham game I played was City, and it is now a core memory for me. I played Asylum and City recently, and I thoroughly enjoyed each of them. I still need to play through origins, which I'm excited for. The Arkham series is just awesome, they encapsulate a different side of batman and the people around him in each installment.
Add 2 wins for: 1) there was a easter egg for Arkham City hidden in one of the offices in the game and 2) when you get all Riddler trophies and riddles, you're able to figure out his location and you can hear his transmission of him being arrested which was such a nice treat for completionists.
This is my favorite channel and im excited for more vids and growth all through out. Absolutely wholesome and enjoyed every minute of learning more about you brother. Keep up the great content.
0:31 I know that this is the same diner brand that scarecrow attacked in knight but why does it look like a small corner shop instead of a diner in grand central
0:56 Yes, Mark Hamill's Joker is great, but in the films the best Joker portrayals are Nicholson, Ledger and Phoenix. So pretty much Leto is the only shitty Joker on film.
This was a great first impression for your channel. This is one of my favourite games and you definitely did it justice. You just earned yourself another subscriber. Keep up the great work.
I would say i love the fact that the Joker started stating your every move as you went throughout a predator level. the game design of Arkham is definiantly one of my favorites. I never played this game when i was a kid and decided to pick it up this past year. one of the best decisions ive made. Love the games and i appreciate you pushing this content to people who may or may not have played it. I hope one day the ones that havent will!
that The Last of Us background music in the end part rly made me wanna play the games again can't wait to get off work so i can do that also , great video as always , hope u do the other 2 as well.
Biggest win for me is the data entries for the characters. Giving people who are new to the comics a lot of interesting backstory on them so you're caught up on them. As someone who was never able to read the comics due to a lack of comic book shops near me, having no money when there finally was one, and not being able to watch the show cos my want to have that saturday morning cartoons time wasn't allowed cos parents wanted to watch the news or some crap, it made me happy to be able to gain that knowledge of the characters when I went into the game
I know you are not going to read this but your videos are amazing i look forward to them every week keep up the good work and I'm betting this time next year you will have 1Million+
I remembered when I first played Asylum after the explosive gargoyles scene, i felt my heart stop and sink to my feet, and I realized it was a scarecrow fight I was so relieved. Genuine unadulterated fear. 10/10
I don't even like video games anymore, but this is awesome!! The Batman Arkham games were a big part of my high school years (seeing that this game came out in 2009 hurts lol). I'm a big Cinemawins fan, so how is it that I have not seen any of this channel before?
A win for the post-credit scene having three variants: Bane, who shows up in Arkham City and gives us confirmation that he survived being hit by the Batmobile and didn't drown, Killer Croc, affirming that he escaped the sewers, and of course Scarecrow, stating he survived being mauled by Croc.
11:14 Wow; four or five guys at that door? I am certain I'd always find the goon with the guestlist by himself when I reached that point. What did I do differently?
As a kid I used to remember watching a ton of walkthroughs of this game, I never watched any of them in order and just wanted to see the world of arkham asylum. Who knew I would one day get this game and have a ton of fun remembering some nostalgia. (I finished the game in less than a week). Heck it was how I was introduced to Batman and his rogues gallery.
I am playing the Arkham Series for the first time, and have completed till Arkham City. I liked AA, but City improves upon almost all aspects of its predecessor. I simply loved the boss fights of City and the Ra'As fight is my favourite one. Waiting for your Arkham City video. Keep up the good work 👍
9:16 straight up ninja shit. I love it and I can’t stop rewinding it. 11:42 and again. This Batman is the Batman we deserve and the one we really need right now.
One cool detail you missed is that during the intro when you're walking with the Joker you can see Penelope Young behind two armed guards watching jokers arrival.
So happy I found this channel! Had been thinking of maybe starting one myself but figured I should look it up just in case someone had already started the channel. Thus, here I am! Asylum is my fave out of all the arkham games. Love the others, but just love how streamlined this one feels
Aw, man. In my first play-thru on the 360, there was this ONE SET OF JOKER TEETH that stopped me from getting Riddler. Thought it'd vex me always. But then Return to Arkham came out. I stayed the course. Ultimately shocked when I heard Riddler getting arrested.
Penny Young is voiced by Cree Summer. While she was not in Batman The Animated Series, she did voice Max Gibson in Batman Beyond, meaning that we have four veteran Batman voice actors returning to the series, though due to Max not existing yet in the timeline, Cree is the only one to voice a different character.
I know this video was from 3 months ago, but just wanted to point out that when you’re in the Arkham mansion and get a dose of the scarecrow gas from the library, it says “Wayne manor” on the top
To me each arkham game has their own merits, this one really encapsulates the detective side of batman and really nails the isolation of arkham island
As well as the creepy atmosphere

I was just thinking about trying this game out and now I find your video in my subscription box!
I think it's just the same brand but not the same building
0:56 Yes, Mark Hamill's Joker is great, but in the films the best Joker portrayals are Nicholson, Ledger and Phoenix. So pretty much Leto is the only shitty Joker on film.
5:46 yet Bruce does the same thing in Arkham Knight tho. So did he get dumber?
This was a great first impression for your channel. This is one of my favourite games and you definitely did it justice. You just earned yourself another subscriber. Keep up the great work.
As someone who also played the demo over and over again, that comment gained my sub! Thanks for all the content bro! Keep up the good work!!
I hope one day the ones that havent will!
that The Last of Us background music in the end part rly made me wanna play the games again
can't wait to get off work so i can do that
also , great video as always , hope u do the other 2 as well.
9:53 I actually uninstalled the game, thinking that the game has crashed😢
I know you are not going to read this but your videos are amazing i look forward to them every week keep up the good work and I'm betting this time next year you will have 1Million+
I remembered when I first played Asylum after the explosive gargoyles scene, i felt my heart stop and sink to my feet, and I realized it was a scarecrow fight I was so relieved.
Genuine unadulterated fear. 10/10
This game was my childhood no joke. This game will FOREVER have a place in my heart.
I love your strength for not showing us the entire game and giving a win for every moment! One of the assassins Creed games next?
True especially 2,4 and brotherhood
Ha was just watching an Arkham game retrospective and then this gem pops up in my notifications
Godzilla medoza?
@@klfganims9561 that boy aqua
@@basicbattles i watch him too 👍
@@basicbattles That Boy Aqua is the first TH-camr to ever reply to my comment, he has a controversial ranking of the Arkham series

Wow; four or five guys at that door? I am certain I'd always find the goon with the guestlist by himself when I reached that point. What did I do differently?
As a kid I used to remember watching a ton of walkthroughs of this game, I never watched any of them in order and just wanted to see the world of arkham asylum. Who knew I would one day get this game and have a ton of fun remembering some nostalgia. (I finished the game in less than a week). Heck it was how I was introduced to Batman and his rogues gallery.
Having Paul Dini writing the the first two Arkham Games is a massive win Imo
It’s been what, 12 years? And this is still my favourite game! An absolute classic
I'm glad to say i was here at 10k subs. One day this channel will be huge like the other similar channels and I'll have proof I'm an OG.
aslo another thing is that the scarecrow sequences i played when i was 7 i always thought i saw red comin though the window and i ran to my mom crying
Yay first time being highlighted
Never has anyone on TH-cam made me so invested in subscribing to a channel, congrats on a amazing video, you just got a new sub. Waiting o arkham city
I am playing the Arkham Series for the first time, and have completed till Arkham City.
I liked AA, but City improves upon almost all aspects of its predecessor. I simply loved the boss fights of City and the Ra'As fight is my favourite one.
Waiting for your Arkham City video. Keep up the good work 👍
Don't forget Arkham Origins.
@@christianfrost8660 Yup, ive bought it during the summer sale, and plan on playing it too.
@@shubhamupadhyay6503 If you can get it, try to get Cold Cold Heart as well. The best DLC in the series.
@@christianfrost8660 I bought just the base game, but thanks for the suggestion. I will get this dlc next time.
The area was limited like there was limited space unlike Arkham city where you could fly every where but I still liked Arkham asylum though.
8:25 Harley does the same move she does in the church of Arkham City
9:16 straight up ninja shit. I love it and I can’t stop rewinding it.
11:42 and again. This Batman is the Batman we deserve and the one we really need right now.
One cool detail you missed is that during the intro when you're walking with the Joker you can see Penelope Young behind two armed guards watching jokers arrival.
12:56 I remember playing the demo for lego batman 2 over and over again
