    Very helpful, it takes a while to sort through asset library hype videos to find real useful information like this (I also had issues with generating properly oriented thumbnails, resolved it the same way you did).

      Thank you I am trying to do helpful long-form videos here. Since I teach, it only makes sense to explain in detail. I am trying to create good videos rather than "content" for and algorithm . I want my channel to be helpful to 2D and 3D beginner artists.

      Just watch all of my videos 100 times. Keep them on repeat LOL. Seriously though , glad this helped out. I think the focus of my channel is or should be to help merge 2D and 3D together. For example, instead of having to sculpt a tree you can bring in a PNG file of a tree you digitally painted or drew. Any feedback you can give me is welcome.

      I think I am focusing this channel on 3D for 2D artists. There are many parts of 3D that we don't have to worry about.

    Putting the kit together for use in asset browser were fairly easy TY. However, pulling the buildings apart again to kitbash em is a pain in the asss lol. For full on kitbashing I do suggest people make 2 files one with the entire structure joined like this video but another one by only joining the pieces of each structure. Building 1 Med - Ground floor, Building 1 Med - Walls, roof, ect as individual assets overtime.

      You can create a collection and instance it and save the asset like that. Still no preview icon but there is a way to render a custom preview icon. Then when you pull it from asset browser it comes in as a collection instance and you can break it back into instance and edit it.

    Question regarding downloading via fbj instead of blender file, will this reduce latency and lag within blender? I was working on a somewhat large scene in blender earlier but when I started appendixing objects from the kit it would gradually take longer and longer to load until finally it just kept crashing all together. Not sure what to do to help this or fix this, my hardware in my pc is pretty beefy never had this issue before

    • @DigitalThreeNine
      @DigitalThreeNine  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure. I do think FBX files seem to work better for importiing in my experience.

      @@DigitalThreeNine thanks! that method worked out great but now im encountering a issue with the original textures.. when I use the newly created asset library in a scene they show highlighted in pink indicating missing textures :/ any fix to this? or did I miss a step??

    Hi i have an issue with textures i guess. my ram explode to around 11gb when im trying to turn on textures with 3 buildings on scene from this kitbash. Know you what can be wrong or i need more ram?

    • @DigitalThreeNine

    • @rueyen3044
      @rueyen3044 ปีที่แล้ว

      I ran into this issue too.
      I found that importing the FBX mesh, changing the lamp to a sun lamp with strength set to 1, switching to Cycles, and using the Rendered Viewport instead of the material preview to be the fix.
      Hope that helps if you haven't already figured out a solution already.

    • @DigitalThreeNine
      @DigitalThreeNine  ปีที่แล้ว

      That usually means the texture is missing or it's not in the same location as the model. Also, I do find OBJ works best.UPDATE..I just made a video for this.

      Once you found your texture folder click "File">"External Data">"Find Missing Files", then choose the texture folder you just found>"accept", and subsequently it’ll reload atomically.
