This made me pretty excited! I had to stop tretinoin, as I'm currently pregnant (I had JUST gotten through the purge and was experiencing the glow 😭)... But my derm prescribed this and I start it tonight!

Prescription Azelaic acid can also help a lot more if you have acne. Sadly the ordinary and the Paula’s choice just didn’t work so I got tretinoin 0.05% and Azelaic acid 20% for acne and my skin looks the best it’s ever been Back when I was 7.
How long did this combo take to work?

@@ellahanna6675 it definitely works. I have the prescription version as well Azclear Azelaic acid 20 percentage and tretinoin.05. I used both at night. Azelaic acid is a gentle giant. Patient is the key. I have melasma and it's definitely fading my marks.

This is a miracle product!!!! I introduced it 3 months after starting Differin. Idk if it is just the AA or the Differin started working as it should ( I think the AA tbh ) but after started the AA my skin is the best it's been

This actually works for skin texture, I had it but didn't use and one day I had texture issues and it actually worked I was like oh well okay then lol I'm going to order another one.

Thanks for watching! I totally understand. I will do an updated routine soon but just to fill you in I currently use the Azelaic acid in my morning routine. I use it on alternative days (mon, wed, Fri etc). After cleansing my face I apply moisturizer, Azelaic acid then sunscreen. I hope this helps.

You should notice a difference in dark marks in 3 months. I noticed improved smoothness within the first week.
Would you recommend using this on the entire face if the goal is to target hyperpigmentation?
Yes, it’s perfectly safe to use all over the face. It actually promotes an even complexion so the hyperpigmentation will eventually match the rest of your skin.

Did you have any irritation or rash in the first week? Or it started to somewhat work from the first time ?
I had mild purging which cleared up pretty quickly but not a rash

Hi I’m sorry to hear that but if you haven’t started any other new products it’s quite possible the azelaic acid is causing you to purge

Hi Sophia thank you so much for watching! Generally yes it’s common to “purge” when starting new acne skincare but I’ve found that didn’t happen with Azelaic acid for me. Maybe try using it less frequently like every other day or once a day. I hope that helps.
@@simplycandinicole thank you; my skin purged in the first week but could ve been due to the SA Cerave cleanser. Once i stopped using this last week, azelaic acid has calmed things down since Tuesday- thanks love. Just wanted to be sure
@@sl2576 hey , I think it's the sa cleanser as well because I had the WORSSSTTT purge from it , however. I'm very happy with how things turned out , it went away after 5 days , and my skin hasn't felt this smooth in the longest time

Hi, is 20% Azeliac acid too much?
I’m not a doctor but it might be too high of a percentage for someone just starting out. Please consult a doctor before you use it on your skin.

Moisturizing is key and only use it in the evening PM.

Azaelic acid do have some side effects . Everyone skin reacts different . It can make your face itchy and dry.
I also experience itching, slight burning and redness from using a 20% Azelaic Acid. I don't know why, but as an ingredient that's supposed to be gentle even for sensitive skin, Azelaic Acid is more irritating than Adapalene for me. I don't experience any irritation at all from using Adapalene. But they both work so well on my skin, so i'll keep using them.
Which one is better...applying azelaic acid before a moisturizer or applying azelaic acid after a moisturizer?
I’ve used it both ways and I prefer using Azelaic acid after my moisturizer

@@itz_emmanuel nope I find that vitamin c doesn’t mesh well with a lot of other products so I stick with Azelaic acid
