The head of security disk I figured out naturally from the wet floor near the entrance. Mann there's no real simple way to take him out other than just isolating him on the stairs, but you have to be confident you will finish the mission soon as you can't hide his body anywhere
Believe it or not I don't really watch speedruns of the game since that's not my playstyle. So as far as what the meta is among the speedrun community I don't really know too much. I speak from personal experience and from what I've seen from others. But next time I do one of these I could check out some speedruns for better info on it, that is a good idea!
The problem imo wirh the choice between the vault and three hard drives is that the balancing is off - its way too easy to access the vault. Even on my first playthrough with no map knowledge I was able to comfortably set up the sedative in the vent to knock out all 4 guards, and that made the vault section a breeze. And then, carrying the data is meant to he difficult because everyone is an enforcer to it. But that challenge is completely ruined because you can just take the van exit and nobody will see you. If it was harder to break into the vault and/or you had to carry the data drive to an upstairs exit with everyone as an enforcer it might be more of a worthy challenge. Your options in this mission are to either knock an extra two people out or break into a bank vault. The latter shouldn't be the simpler option

You mentioned that you haven't seen people use the three data discs when doing SASO, whilst litteraly every single speedrun uses it.
