Bryan, for those of us who are challenged, when it comes to programming, or compiling, why not just post your modified JyersUI file for the new MAX, so all of us could profit from your amazing knowledge and video's.
Yeah I was thinking same thing. Bryan why don't you just upload the finished bin file for us if we just want to to upgrade to a colored screen. Rather then doing all that extra work. Would be alot more easier for us.

Thank you for the great work! I just did all of this with your video as a guide. I also added a second z axis screw as well. One thing to note, if anybody here has the BL-touch or CR-touch, the JyersUI code has the probe offset to work for the Ender 3 V2 and NOT the Max which is on the other side of the printhead. Took me a while as a newbie to figure this out. Those numbers should be 38, -18, 0 for X, Y, Z. I determined them via homing the printhead and measuring the physical location relative to the bed. This brings the probe smack in the center. Otherwise, if someone forgets to change those numbers like I did, your printhead will be offset by a large amount along the X axis. To the point where it will move off the side and crash.

@@Hoceima You just have to go in the BLtouch probe setting for me it is in advanced menu ... et change the parameter there for 38,-18. On my side I don't have Z to set there. Z will be set with the Z offset probe ... after all leveling and check with a manual method (paper sheet)
Finally got mine to work after 2 days of staring at the code, ended up having to delete all the marlin files vs code and python and redownload everything and start from scratch. I ended up having to fine tune the homing position for X/Y/Z , mine ended up being 41.55, -21, 1.23. But it works like a champ now. Thanks to all you guys for your comments it helped a lot. Also a giant thanks to Bryan, your videos are great and very informative. ALSO AS A SIDE NOTE... in the bed size area of the code it helps to make your value for the extra bed compensation to 0. It was set to +15 in my code to allow for more use of the bed, but it doesn"t work with the CR touch. it offsets the nozzle way too much.

Got the Max about a week ago, had already ordered the adjustable belt ends and screen. Tried one night to do the software, did not get it to work right so waited a few days till I was more refreshed and worked at the software again. This time I got it. The first time I did not log in right even though I thought I did. I could edit but could not compile. Well today I put on the screen and installed all the firmware. First week I used the stock ender max screen and now with the V2 screen I am much happier it is more to my liking and matches my 3v2 printer. Today I am finishing up printing the drawer unit. Thank you so much for the guidance the video the links and the files to make the Max what it should be!

I purchased a Refurbished Ender 3 Max that turned out to be a hot mess, but installed a CR Touch and Creality's firmware and was instantly disappointed with the probe point and the 0.1 resolution on the Z-Offset, so I tried compiling many Firmware with no luck, so I bought a V2 Screen and compiled Jyers and it transformed my Ender 3 Max and the UI is very similar to my Ender 3 S1 and gives very useful data. Appreciate the work and the informative videos to turn my Ender 3 Max from my most hated printer to one of my favorite (I also added a Dual Z so that helped too)

I wish JyersUI would do a FW version for the 12864 screen, I love that screen and pretty much detest touch screens, I know where everything is located on the 12864 and to me it feels like a well worn pair of slippers!
Half way into the video I order a ender 3 v2 screen to do this upgrade. I own a V2 and love my jyers/octoprint on it and wish I could do the same with my max.. now I just have to order another pi. Thanks for another amazing video
I just got an Ender 3 Max, would you say the touch screen is nice? Totally new to this and trying to prep with some fun stuff before setting it up.
Just set up my Ender 3 max over the week-end with plans to upgrade over the next fer months. it took a few times to get it leveled right, but it has been running fine. I decided that the first upgrade is a auto-leveler which I'll order tonight. I thought it would be the screen, but the current dial and push button works well enough.
I love all these upgrades and looking forward to trying them all. My one question is I have a BL touch on mine is this firmware going to work with that installed

just picked up a ender 3 max as a returned unit that is being sold as used, will be the 4th printer ive gotten that was either a openbox used or refurbished an so far 3 out of the 4 have been what looks to be brand new printers with just stripped screws or threads stripped from the holes so was really easy fixes like cutting new threads deeper into extrusions an just using longer bolts but so far 3 of the 4 have been very good deals an the 4 is still not arrived in the mail yet, its the ender 3 max. i planned on doing this to the max to add the screen mainly, i have so many belt tensioners printed an on hand at this point i dont really have to worry about those but the display is something i wanted an i have a bltouch i want to add so ill be back once my ender3 max comes in the mail.
Hey Bryan I fill kind of stupid I just saw your video on upgrading the E 3 Max and now I have to do all those things twice because I have two. Talk about me being late to the game LOL. Great video wish I had seen it sooner keep them coming buddy.
minus the custom firmware part, I did the same basic process on a Ender 3 Pro to turn it into an Ender 3 Pro V2. Just recently installed the Creality sprite extruder pro kit on it, so now it's a Ender 3 Pro V2 S1. Not the easiest task but I got it sorted. The hardest part was getting the offsets set so the CR-touch probe would work correctly.
Thank you Luc Lafreniere for this adjustements. I did not see your comment and it was "la galère" with the nozzle going out of the bed. Just one thing. for me 38,-15,0 is better. With -18 the bed was kicking the y axis. Just if that can help someone. And also thank you Bryan for your video. I just received an ender 3 v2 so with the screen and some other pieces I am proud to announce that I have a BV3D Ender 3 MAX Pro V2 (french name sounds better). The Jyers code is awesome...
Question for you do you try this version with octoprint ??? on my side some feature is not working ... Gcode viewer and Bed visualizer ...
Another great video Bryan, I would like to try this on my Ender3 Max Neo as it already has the color screen and I hate the oem firmware. Is there anything in JyersUI for the CR touch ABL and filament runout sensor? I tried to do the Unified firmware from TH3D but the printer did not like it and had to put the oem back on.
I would LOVE if you could do a video with the 3 V2 with JyersUI and a direct drive. I have one and I cant fully set it up to fit correctly with the plate, so I have to move the plate over to the left a few mm to compensate. It is incredibly frustrating.

Hey Bryan! I love your videos and have learned so much! Has the Ender 3v2 Screen changed? I have purchased this one that you have linked, as well as one from a different Amazon supplier and neither screen work with the DWIN_SET to flash the new colored screen. They just boot right up immediately to the main Jyers screen when the card is inserted into the back of the screen. I have used the same SD card (formatted as FAT32 with 4096 allocation) with the DWIN_SET file to successfully update my 3 Ender 3v2's, but I cannot seem to figure out why I cannot update the two new screens to work on my 5 Ender 3 MAX printers. I have even attached the new screens to one of my v2's to update and then transfer to the Max, but still nothing! I can move one of the original v2 screens to the Max and it works fine there too. Any help would be appreciated, as I would like to continue to install Jyers on all of my Max's, but would prefer the Gotcha colored display set.
I just bought the Belt Tensioners. I think that is a must upgrade and should come standard on any printer. just after buying my max I had to replace the main board. so, I decided to upgrade to the 4.2.7 board. ar least that is fixed I am still working on a under extrusion issue. have no idea how to fix this issue.
Wondering if all of this will work with the new touch screen upgrade.

Great videos - very detailed. I have a Max with a CR Touch - I noticed that there are Pre-configured Marlin files for 3x3, 5x5 and 10x10 but in the source download templates there are only 3x3 for the BL touch does the Max not support the other level configurations? - what is the difference to the UBL-BLTouch-10x10?
@ Luc Lafreniere comment about the probe offset change for the MAX are there any more details to clarify this change?

Hey Bryan, great video! I printed your remix of the drawers and when I went to install it on the printer it gets stuck on the bottom part of the screw that holds the rail wheels for the Y axis. Any ideas?
great video, I ave a question. I did the update and the screen, I added cr touch. How do I adjust the offset of the touch? On the v2 it is on the left but on the max it is on the right

Have you done a similar upgrade to an Ender 3 Pro with the 4.2.27 board, a BLTouch from Creality, and a Micro Swiss All Metal Hot End? I shelved mine for several months having never been able to get it to work reliably and all features to work no matter what firmware I have tried (although until seeing this video I never heard of JyersUI.)

My printer is called Ratlity Research Mini-Core V2-K. It's a Creality ender 3 v2 with (not prusa) orange part, ratrig green part and runs klipper.
Any idea if the screen update can be/has been configured for the different TJC/DACAI versions of the V2 screen that are now shipping?
I compiled the firmware for the 4.2.2 board, no ABL etc, basically stock printer, as shown, but with the 3x3 Manual Mesh option. Is there a way I could send the .bin for you to pin to the description, as I think many people would need that build?
So I watched both video’s, I picked the bltouch 3x3 software I installed it it all worked but I don’t have the level icon on the screen. Do you know of something I could have missed?

I have an skr mini e3 v3 board and wondering if you have fitted this board with the v2 screen im also looking at adding the sprite hotend aswell as i think the combination of all 3 would make the max a fantastic machine. Do you know of any firmware that could make this possible. Any help would be great.
Will this work with the touch screen? I have two laying around. I hate the knob.

I undermounted my PSU in my Ender 3 Pro because i added a second Z-Stepper, it's simple you just print 2 mounts and shove it under the back. It's not hard at all.
OK, cool. It seemed like it would be a bit of a hassle to do. Was it the 2nd Z stepper motor that prompted you to move the PSU? And how do you like the printer with the 2nd Z? Good stuff?
I have a creality 4.3 touch screen with ender 3 pro with 4.2.7 and it lacks so much features compared to the lcd screen and i cant seem to find a video to update the firmware for the touchscreen. see people with custom screens but i cant find anything about modding it.
I'm not familiar with the Jyersui marlin I use the standard Marlin 2.0.8 would the lcd screen work with that?

They do, which is cool -- but the touch screen won't work with JyersUI.
Also Creality's got a sort of tethered tablet thing they're calling the Creality 3D Pad. I haven't used it, but it looks like a little Android tablet with a custom GUI. It even has a port you can plug a filament sensor into.
Does the ender 3 max screen use the same cable as a ender 3 v2 screen?

Hello Brian, so, I have just added the SKR Mini E3 Version 3.0 Motherboard and the BigTreeTech TFT35 3.5” Color Touch Screen. I had a BL Touch, so I have tried to add it as I could, but it is not working and wants to smash the base without stopping. I thought I had loaded the correct firmware with auto homing, but the red light on the BL Touch never comes on. Just the little blue dot light. So, my BL Touch colors are different with a blue wire instead of green, but they are in the same places as yours. I just can't figure this out. Why is the BL Touch not lighting and moving the retractable arm?

Question, I have a ender 3 max on 4.2.7 but under marlin there is no 4.2.7 only 4.2.2. I have been building using the 4.2.7 ender 3 pro folder. But the auto level points are off not sure why? Do this hit the correct auto level points

Anyone figure out how to move the X setting for auto homing and bed leveling so a 4.2.7 board knows that the BL touch is on the right side not the left side. My homing is off center and bed leveling puts right side off the bed

Hi! You do not need the belt tensioners if you don't want them. But note that the screen used in this video isn't a touch screen. It's the color LCD with the control knob. JyersUI 100% requires this screen. JyersUI will not work with the touch screen, as far as I know.
@@BV3D will it work with the factory Ender 3max screen? I compiled my firmware but I have the factory screen and nothing showes. Up on the screen
after doing all the compiling of the irmware everything turns on fine but cant home the printer, no axis move . is there a setting that needs to be change in the vscode compile
figured it out, the printer has a 4.2.2 board and i was told by the owner that he had 4.2.7 so re configured the firmware to the 4.2.2 and its working now

That's where the people who know the most about it can be found. You can see what other people are running into. Maybe someone's got a solution for the problem you're experiencing.
Does the 4.2.2 board in the 3 max have a different z stepper? Does that make a difference?
I think there are various releases of the 4.2.2 board. For example, the one I have has silent stepper drivers for X and Y, but not Z or E. The drivers on 4.2.2 boards are all set to run in standalone mode (I think). But, functionally, the 4.2.2 board in my Max behaves the same as the 4.2.2 board in my V2, with the exception that the one in my Max is louder when it moves the Z axis. If I misunderstood the question, let me know, and I'll try to get you the right answer.
@@BV3D I think you got it. I just know that z & e are not silent on my max but are on the V2. Idk if the different version would cause an issue. Anyway, thanks for all you do!

Do you have any information on adding the CR touch to the Jyers firmware for the Ender 3 Max?
I setup mine but it fails to mesh the bed. The probe keeps going too far over on the X axis
I’m getting the same problem with the BLtouch
so i havent done it myself yet, but another commenter mentioned that the v2 firmware has the position of the touch on the opposite side of the printhead so you'll likely have to find the offset and add it in yourself.

JyersUI will not, because it's designed specifically to work with the Ender-3 V2's screen.
