    Great video showing a lot of the important parts of the install. Also, I love it when a random cat's tail wanders through the frame.

    Great video and awesome ingenuity on your part taking a 3 man job mounting it to a 1 person job.

    Man... what a great video. Thanks!
    I want one of these but after watching this, I’m not sure that’s a project I want to tackle...

      numbr2luder it really wasn’t too difficult of an install. But it would be a lot easier with an extra hand. Highly recommended bumper and winch setup though.

      Looks good with the bumper n winch mounted not bulky looking like others I seen it does look like a big job to tackle by oneself, much what you show of removing the front bumper & other parts behind it is much what has to be done doing a 3" bodylift but thats only part of it much more to doing bodylifts, the only other thing I could never find myself to do is cutting anything up or even trimming things especially when it comes to getting a suspension lift getting cab mount chops banging the bead weld under the fenders with a sledge hammer just to get 35" tires on is completely insane some of them videos that others post doing this is somewhat comical..

    Thanks for the edumacation from a weekend warrior. It's my 2nd Sierra winter and snow arrived just before Thanksgiving this year. After pulling several folks out of trouble with a strap, I finally decided to make sure I can get myself out of a jam. Got mine coming and install Christmas weekend. Have a great holiday season and keep em coming.

    Been some time since this was posted.
    But I'm trying to get this same set up for my 3rd gen. I have the Cali raised hidden light bar. Does the winch/control box sit right in that area behind the bull bar?
    Want to see if I'll have to take that light bar out.

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You are going to have to do some cutting if you want an actual bumper and winch. No matter what brand or style. But I don’t think it would hurt the resale value if you do it right. It might add value if anything.

  • @chrisstotler5643

    How do reach back and flip the switch to let the winch unspool by hand, I have the same bumper but I would have to reach all the way from the top and open the hood

    I am looking at this same combination for my 2018 Tacoma TRD OffRoad DCLB until I can "upgrade" to an apogee bumper set (they have the only rear bumper I know of that is BSD compatible, but they still have the rock sliders and the rear tire carrier in development)

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matt Lewandowski it’s a great low profile bumper. I highly recommend. SSO makes quality products

    • @mattlewandowski73
      @mattlewandowski73 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@clevelandtaco1007 I mostly do not like the idea of cutting into my factory bumper as that is sell-able (in pristine condition) and I have plans to upgrade next year to a matched set of full coverage front and rear bumpers. otherwise... good looking product at a decent price though I am not getting third party stuff through them... I can get that winch at 15% off final cost elsewhere. (a shame... I like sticking with single suppliers when ever possible.)

    How do you access the control plug and more importantly, how do you get to the spool? Unless you have a perfect stuck scenario and pull head on, the cable will ball up on one end or the other and you will have to work that spool as you pull yourself out?

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      mdmeltdown there are two access holes in the front of bumper that your hands will fit in

    • @clevelandtaco1007

  • @kseepersad2380
    @kseepersad2380 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Have you had a chance to pull or winch with that setup? Does the bumper seem strong with its mounting points to the frame ? Looks great, I saw that SSO came out with 2 extensions to cut both the left and right of that plastic OEM bumper and the inserts they sell are supposed to give more clearance; it mates up to your slimline bumper...not sure how strong the attachment to the bumper would be in case you hit a big rock....great video btw.

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      kseepersad2380 thank you, so far I have only used it to pull a lawn tractor out of a ditch. But yes it is very solid and sturdy. I have seen those high clearance extensions and plan on getting them when they come out.

    That thing looks sweet!! Just curious, did all that weight make your truck droop a little? I'm hesitant to add anymore weight to my rig. I'm geared up for overlanding and it's getting heavy. Thanks again.

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Anthony Sanchez fortunately it did not make much of a difference. I measured it and it was less than a 1/4 inch drop. I also have a three inch spacer on the stock shocks so the front end is more stiff than normal. But not sure how much that affects it.

    • @j0shll0yd
      @j0shll0yd 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      SSO says it only adds 30-40 lbs over the stock setup.

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Josh Lloyd the winch is about 70 pounds. And that’s with synthetic rope.

  • @christiancalma502

    I have a stealth light bar in my bumper. So if I install this low pro bumper with winch I won’t be able to use my light bar? Looks pretty tight where the winch motor sits in there.

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Christian Calma there is a decent amount of room. I think the light bar will fit fine as long as it’s not super a super bulky light.

    • @clevelandtaco1007
      @clevelandtaco1007  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, you kinda do need to remove it. Especially to get rid of the stock bumper safety thing. Technically I guess you can do without removing the whole bumper. But you are going to have a really bad day and or weekend with a lot of mother F ing.

  • @MartyCanter

    Could imagine if you was ever to put everything back original toyota would charge mininum of 500$ to 800$ for tbe part you cut away..trucks arent built like was in my days these newer toyotas have so much plastic junk connected to front end just to remove a bumper back in the old days was 8 bolts @ tops to remove a bumper..
