What a refreshing video, Pete. And so true. Personally I`m tired of the stigma and prejudice Pattaya girls have to go through, there are so many videos out there with extremely judgemental comments. How often haven`t we heard "Pattaya girls are all the same".. No, they are definitely not. Many Pattaya and Jomtien girls are hard working and independent, making their own money. So thank you for giving a touch of balance in that regard 😊😊

Great topic Pete. I do not worry about a live in girlfriend or wife in retirement, I have been there and done that. Pattaya is perfect for me as i like short times and variety and no responsibilities. I have fallen for some massage girls, but only to go back for another one hour massage 555 Thank you for the hospital tip...maybe in a few years as i may need full time personal care haha
Great video !! I lived at "The View Cosy Beach" for a year so it was cool seeing the old neighborhood again. Very good ideas. Trying to make relationships with bar girls almost always does not work out long term. For the first couple hours it's great. But the clock is running and they all have a sick bufflao and most have kids and some still have a husband ! lol Now that you mention it, a widow with her husband's pension and retired assets does seem like an ideal partner if one can be found. I guess as you suggested the online game might be tried to find ones that are financially secure and in no hurry.
Don't go out there specifically looking for love because all you will find is trouble just go relax enjoy yourself and let what happens happen. If you don't find anyone it's not the end of the world don't force it
I believe that everyone likes to hear the truth. Personally, I think the stories that are true that happen around you are good to tell because it is not ugly but the best. And if everyone accepts it, it will make life happier and easier to live.😊🤗
I meet a woman on TF. She is a civil servant and is quite something. Have been seeing her for a year now, she has never asked for money although I occasionally help her out with things. Personally would not attempt to meet a girl from Pattaya. Any encounters I have had have always been negative if from a high tourist area.
Pete - long time subscriber here, lovin’ the videos. I know you are a guitar player; now that I’m retired and have plenty of time here in Pratumnak, I’d like to get back into it as a beginner. What recommendation would you have for buying a decent used guitar around here? Thanks!!
I don’t have a lot of experience for used guitars here but what I hear is either from Facebook marketplace or this shop down south. I don’t know the name. They are on Sukhumvit and were in town before the pandemic. I hear it’s a very large store mostly filled with things from the estates of deceased expats. I’ve been wanting to check it out but keep forgetting about it. I bought a new, Thai made guitar from a shop called Suriya on Sukhumvit. The brand is called Mantic and I like it a lot. It was cheap too, like 70-100 but I don’t remember.
I’m looking forward to trying some of their meats. The owner is a cool guy and gave me the whole history of how it all started with his wife and her making some gefilte fish.
Hey Pete! Well done, and I appreciate your take on sex workers. Not to downplay the potential dangers there, but most of these folks are just looking for an opportunity, which is often hard to come by where they come from. Westerners view sex through the lens of our own culture and values, and it helps to understand that Thai people look through a very different lens.

Hi Pete In Australia if you marry a woman or if she lives with you, even without marraige she becomes entitled to 50% of your assets/money. Is this the same rule in Thailand? If so, what steps can you take to ensure a live in partner does not fleece you?
@@peteonretreat2023 Thats good because there is nothing scarier than losing half of what you have earned to a person who has only came into your life after you earned it. Fair enough any earnings after you meet should be split. It is not just Thai women that look to take a man for all she can financially, western women are exactly the same. Meeting your soul mate is something most of us will never achieve. I hope it works out for you as you seem like a genuine sort of bloke.
Please don't judge these Thai women negatively. The majority of these women are supporting many of their family members. Ask yourself this: What would you do to support your family... The same thing applies here. Most guys in relationships give their girl an allowance. Some pay weekly or once a month. You're an expat living in a country where your money goes far. If you're in a relationship, you want to better her, right? And vice versa. I will say this it will be cheaper here than many places. 300 US Dollars will take care of her and help support her family.
