Hi, it's Thailand Fever co-author Chris Pirazzi. Cool channel and many thanks for the very kind review! Some of your viewers contacted us to ask where to get Thailand Fever. At the moment Asia Books in Thailand has it in their shops and website, and Lazada has some. For those in US/Europe, Amazon is out of stock, so the only option is the secondhand copies that come up there from time to time, or having a friend in Thailand forward you a copy. We plan to make an electronic version of Thailand Fever and shift to that format instead of paper, so we likely will not do more print runs. The electronic form has been on our todo list for some time, but now more urgent as the last print copies run out. We may also modernize some sections; is there anything in particular you or your viewers would add/change? Thanks again!
Wow Chris, thank you so much for the info. I’ll pin this post and add the info in the description. Yes, an electronic version would be great and easy to update. It’s so cool to hear from you!
Been with my Thai wife 16 years. 31 year age difference. We dated 2 years before we married. 8 months before I met her family. We married in the U.S. No dowry or big Thai wedding. We just had our first child together which we thought we’d never have as docs told her she couldn’t conceive. I highly recommend it for an older guy! Gives your life a whole new meaning. I suspect I could write quite a book. First I’d say a relationship with a Thai woman isn’t much different than any other woman. Yeah there are cultural differences but not as big a deal as you think. Growing up in the 60s and 70s in the U.S. prepared me a bit especially when it comes to family values. I really love that about the culture. My dad was always the provider and even took care of both sets of grandparents at times especially as they got older. I have no issue helping out her family from time to time. Financially I’m quite well off as a retired lawyer and it’s no issue at all for me. I think the money thing is the biggest issue for most guys. All of a sudden they are viewed as rich here while in their own country and their own mind they are usually not so well off by western standards and are very protective of what they have - especially after retirement when they can’t make it back. My wife is college educated and speaks fluent English after living in the U.S. most of our marriage. She’s also an American citizen. I can speak Thai pretty well. That helps. We now live in Hua Hin and doing great! We get back to the States often and still maintain several homes there. She adapted very well there and had her own retail store there as she does here now. Don’t want to paint an overly rosey picture. You will face challenges. But all in all Thai women make great wives and companions. Mine always keeps me laughing! Just stay away from the low value women in the bars. They are prostitutes and that’s where the gold diggers will be encountered most often. Plenty of great women everywhere here. But you’ll need to approach them. They won’t approach you. Most will be flattered by the attention from a foreigner.
A very good video regarding the book! I would only had suggested perhaps making more clear is that the book actually is two books in one, written by two different authors. Half of the book is written by a American expat man regarding advice/info to western men, and the other half of the book is written by a Thai woman (that lived in the USA and was married to an American) who well understands western culture, and she offers up advice/info to Thai women. As you pointed out, each page is translated. The part I found most interesting was what the Thai lady was saying to the Thai women..........but the entire book is great!
I talked about the two authors when I filmed this but cut that out while editing (my first cut was 22 minutes long so I gad to cut a lot). My take was that they wrote the book together (not as two separate books) as there are parts written for the man, parts written for the woman and parts written for both partners. I never felt the tone or writing style changed and that it felt very consistent (it didn’t feel like 2 different books to me) but I could easily be wrong.
I just got back from Thailand and now have a girl I like. This whole thing has my heads spinning. Thanks for the info. I like your videos. I subbed today.
Thank you for the sub and best of luck with the girl. It can be tricky and the odds are against us but even California has a 50% divorce rate. My honest advice though is to keep your feet on the ground if you're not in Thailand. I have seen and heard WAY too many stories to not have doubts in those situations. That said, we have a friend whose boyfriend is away 6 months a year and she is 100% faithful to him. We just had dinner together 2 nights ago.
Great stuff! I think your openness and base-line positive attitude about people that differ from you make you more likely to have successful cross-cultural relationships than many other folks.
Thank you. There were many things we seemed to do and understand before reading the book that the booked touched on. We're both pretty understanding with each other and are stronger together.
Wow! What a great book. Thanks for the summary. Sounds like you are doing great with ❤ I’m very hesitant of the interracial aspects being such a big challenge but this (reading together) looks promising. Thanks for the excellent summary 🙏🏽
Glad you enjoyed it. I really do try to find things other people aren't talking about and that I think are helpful. I also only do videos that I think I'll enjoy doing. It keeps the channel smaller but that's a good thing too because it keeps most of the negative people and trolls away.
@@peteonretreat2023 The best channels are the ones that have or show the best insights .. definitely not those just going after the most "Extreme!" views. Your channel is definitely quality, Pete.
Can't wait to read the book, Not because i'm going to be in a relationship with a Thai woman but because i will learn more about Koi and her relationship with the world and you. Love the comment about US movies and expectations they can lead to. Yes indeed. Same can be said for people growing up in the States.
Not to be "that guy" but I think you said you were going to speak more on the topic of intimacy. Maybe a good Part II on its own. Thanks for the valuable insights 👍
Did I say that? I appreciate when people are “that guy” and keep me to my word but I don’t remember saying that. I will brainstorm on that idea though. What would you like to see from a video on intimacy? Thanks for the comment and I’m happy you enjoyed the video.
@peteonretreat2023 Aw shucks (blushing) 😂 at about 5:29 you said "we'll get into that" or maybe you said the book "will get into that"? That being Thais being less open about sex than westerners. That's where I thought you were going, but I may have misheard. Thanks Pete!
I cant really tell in regards to mine. I think at the very least shes appreciative of what I give her. But while ever shes on the free ride with me im always going to doubt she loves me. 100% she loves my money though and she got me out of mongering which was fun but over 8 years started to lose its value
That’s a tough one and I feel that’s the situation for a lot of guys out here. In some ways it doesn’t matter (unless we run out of money). If they take care of us until our last days and treat us like they love us, we’ll never know otherwise.
@@peteonretreat2023 btw my mother has since been to Issan village to meet her family We have had many misunderstandings with or without the book we are from different planets both have made efforts
lol, we haven't talked about it yet but there likely won't be one. 40 year old single moms don't normally require one and we might not have any Thai ceremony if/when the time comes.

Great info. It says the book is unavailable on Amazon.
I have heard it's out of print. I see it listed on AbeBooks but I don't know how trustworthy that site is.
Moving from Jomtien to Hua Hin. Will be intriguing to compare the social life there. Been 5 X but only visits
I hope it works out for you. It's on my list of possibilities and if it wasn't for the charity I do, I would've likely left Patts this year.
You are walking where I was until yesterday 😢
