Thank you 🙏🏼 I know the foundation aspect isn’t a big thing for most of my viewers but it was a huge part of my life this month (and this year in general). Next year will be huge for Bertie, but I’m going to try to cut down my coverage of them a bit (I am working on their TH-cam page though…)
Thank you and thank you again for your donation. Bertie had a fantastic first year but we’re just getting started. I’m hoping we can do 500-1000 stockings next year!
Another great walk and talk Pete. I agree Thailand is not for everyone, but everyone seems to be visiting lately 555 As a people watcher it is always entertaining for me to witness the throngs of people and sometimes even having a conversation with the vacationers
I like getting to talk with some of them too and I’ve been meeting more and more members this high season. Not a huge fan of the crowds but the weather… it’s been amazing! We went to Isan this week and it was 17 degrees!! 🥶 Cheers and happy new year! Here’s to 2025 in Thailand!! 🇹🇭 ❤️ ✌🏼
Hey bud is there a place to get steak in Pattaya or is that hard to come by. Not steak in stir fry or that kind but a restaurant you could get a ny strip or ribeye type thing
There are several good places for steaks in town, usually Australian imported beef. There’s some more moderately priced places and then there’s some top shelf places too. I haven’t actually had a steak here yet but I see the reviews in the FB food groups I’m in. Rib Eye, NY, T-bone, Filet Mignon, you can get it all here. The big supermarket in the mall will cook to order any steak you buy there too. I’ve had a couple friends tell me they do that.
Question for Pete on retreat, aka discount Seth Green, I'll admit I'm also dreaming of pools, beach and playing video games all day, or a combination of something like that with some exercise, maybe q few social events now and then, Some people. Are perfectly fine with that life and don't get tired of it, Just curious , do you know people who are perfectly fine mostly just doing that and relaxing bein lazy? Also have you done that and is it as good as you thought it would be? Some people so you can get tired of it, but I'm kind of doin that now in my life and surprised don't get tired of just chillin. I'm wondering if You know people that just kind of do little things like little hobbies and what not and are perfectly happy with that.
I know a couple people that a relatively hobbiless but almost everyone I know does something. One friend bike rides and takes walks. Another goes bowling 2-4 times a week. Some play games. One golfs and dives. One plays chess and meets with traders to talk about money a lot. But, I can definitely think of a few that just socialize a bit and chill out. Watching sports is a pretty big pastime, and playing pool. Lots of gum rats too. I’m often busier than I’d like to be. Between the charity, TH-cam and my D&D game, and my girlfriend, I always have something I can be doing.
TTRPGs? Yup, I sure do! I run a weekly 5e D&D game and have played a few other systems like Monster of the Week, Deadlands and EZD6. There’s a couple game cafes here as well as a D&D FB group to help people find games here. Pattaya Dungeons and Dragons… or something like that.
@peteonretreat2023 thanks right now I'm in Hua Hin. Moving up there at the end of February. I remembered you saying something about it in a different video. Thank you for the information
I've been looking into Thailand but if they tax my 401k and pension more than what I would be taxed otherwise then it's a big no for me. I've also been looking at other Southeast Asia countries. Aren't flights from the US at least a day?
Happy new year Edward. Yeah, it’s 19 hours minimum to fly here and more often 20-24 with a short layover. The new tax laws are concerning and no one really sees to know how it’s going to go down. Even the “experts” disagree about it. Thailand would lose money as a whole of they really go after it because many of us will just leave. I’m still waiting to see how things go down but the deadline to file is in March so we’ll see.
Please don't do a video on tax. No one still knows what is happening. Even doing visa videos is a bit daft. You can spout total crap for 20 minutes and get everything wrong. There will be people telling thanking you for the great info. Carry on with your walks and talks. That's why people watch you
I’m just getting tired of answering the question 1 on 1 in the comments. You already summed up my video for the most part… 10-15 minutes of saying no one really knows, sharing the best and worst case situations, sharing my feelings about it all and then a little bit on the DTV. At least I’ll walk and talk while I do it lol. It’ll be less “info” and more of my reaction to it all.
When did I ask anyone for money? I simply thanked people who have supported the channel over the last year. You once said I produced probably the most useful video providing information on Thailand you had seen. That’s why some viewers want to support me a bit. YT paid about $1 an hour this year and considerably less my first year. I produce content for information and entertainment purposes and some viewers choose to support me. It’s fine if you don’t but this idea that I’m begging is ridiculous. Anyway, thank you for supporting the channel by watching and commenting 🙏🏼 I really do appreciate it and I hope this reply doesn't come of snarky. Happy New Year
I retired to Pattaya at 50. My only plan at that point was a girl everyday. Boy did I over estimate myself with that. I kept a calender of my mongering and you can see a pattern. Usually 7-10 girls a week for 2 weeks then 1 or 2 the next week. It was just far to exhausting. I've since found a real girl as well and despite being comfortable with her, I'm missing the variety.
Thumbs up 👍 Pete
Happy New Year 🎊 MSR
Really enjoyable, Pete, and the Bertie Foundation's Christmas offerings were such a thing of beauty!
Thank you 🙏🏼

Great video, do u know of any cat friendly condos on jomtien, pattaya or pratumnak? Thanks
Loving this channel !!!
Wow, thank you for saying that 🙏🏼
I was going to take 2 weeks off for the holidays but then I got inspired to make this video this morning. Lol
Wonderful achievement over Christmas. Happy New Year to you both

I've just watched another TH-camr and he recommended AE&EK STEAKHOUSE I’m a steak man myself .
Nice cat!
We love him so much! He just had his first trip to Isan with us and did great!

Yo Pete! I don’t see your email any longer on your home page? Is there anyway to message you other than the comments?
Hey Chef, it’s listed in the description of each video. Would love to hear from ya!
Koi is a sweet lady! And good driver to the airports!
She’s pretty amazing all around and I’m share your compliment with her. I’m sure she’ll appreciate it.

@@rodneykeck4631 my pleasure. Drop me an email when you get to town. My address is in the description.
@@peteonretreat2023 definitely will do appreciate that.
Are you a veteran?
I am not but many of my friends here are.
Man, check out the cat's coat.
He’s gorgeous right? He’s an American Shorthair Silver Tabby. In the states they sell for about $2k but we got him for about $90.
Your right everyone is different
No way I’d live in pattaya and as long as everyone keeps moving there I’m happy 😂😂😂
That’s great for you. 😁
(and it’s “you’re” right 😉)

Pattaya , the most horrid place I ever visited in Thailand
It sure ain’t for everyone. I’ve definitely been to worse places than Pratumnak since moving here though. I’m loving my life here 🤷🏻♂️
every youtuber begging for money, sheesh.

I’m glad you found a real one… that longer life fits for some but sure isn’t my cup of tea.
@peteonretreat2023 it's nicer having a genuine partner as a whole but there is something exciting about multiple play mates
