    We have a Colonial Red Brick with a few Dark Grey Bricks mixed in. We like the Pristine Pewter Color the best for our roof. Getting it done in the next couple of weeks. Thanks for the video.

    I would choose a brown on a white house to sort of give that cedar roof vibe. My husband likes the black and that is what we are getting next week. It'll be nice have a new roof.

      I like your style, that would be a good combo. I used to have a love/hate with black shingles, but now I have grown to really like them.

    Choosing a color has been the hardest part in my process to get a new roof on our house...The reason being that the shingle brand I Wanted to go with, has very highly rated shingles and Im sold on the durability, but their color choices are truly poor and limited..
    Ive only found 2 or 3 possible choices I would find acceptable but the problem is that these look Different in Every picture i see of them.. so its tough to Know what it Really looks like on a house..Ive tried to ask the roofer for real examples that I could drive by and see a customers house with That shingle, but these are not nearby and in short, its just been a real pain just to see real examples... I dont feel comfortable making the choice on a stock photo or just a shingle sample... how these look on a roof can be Very different ! ask me how I know! I forgot to metion, our house has a very faded yellow, almost yellow/cream colored vinyl siding and dark brown gutters... the current shingles are a light brown color with even shading...Im Not a fan of checkerboard color variations in the shingles... we were considering Malarky Vista, the "Natural wood" color... it looked good in their stock photo showing it on a yellow siding house, much like ours but in other pics the checkerboard effect was disconcerting... ive wanted to see this on a house for real but havent as of yet..

      I noticed the ones I picked look different no matter where i put the samples and also looked different wet and on here she says coastal granite looked like a blue color but samples to me laid out up on my roof have a green tinge to them , Which is great since my house is creamy yellow with really dark green shutters and white trim . I bought one bundle of the ones i liked and laid them out on the roof , but my house is a ranch , i am also 70 year old woman . But i did it Roof to get dne monday Jan 29th

    Good video… we have green vinyl siding plygem Tuscan olive… thinking atlas pinnacle pewter would go best as it is not as light as the coastal or heather. Would you agree? Thanks!

    • @roofingtips

      Pewter isn’t as light as coastal but heather us a dark brown. Honestly, my favorite color is majestic shake because it’ll go with any color, especially that olive color you have.

    My home has clay colored bricks( a little lighter than the real red brick). I'm trying to decide between coastal granite and summer storm.

    • @roofingtips

      Personally, I think summer storm will look great. It’s not a super common color, but it works well with red-ish brick.

    • @roofingtips

    I stressed with color but also the work . I picked a grey color for my creamy yellow colored house with dark green shutters I picked coastal granit . My house had a tan roof before and I hated it . I guess because all my previous houses had tan roofs on them My roof is being done monday Jan 29th 2024 . see funny you say coastal granit looks like it has blue shades but I see green . I the store I took out a bunch of shingles and laid them out and saw green tinge to them . I stressed more over parts and pieces , like ice and water shield , boots for around my plumbing vents , but roofer ordered plastic boots for them and not sure about that, I had metal ones before . My neighbor got a black roof and all he does is complains about how hot the house is in the summer . I live in south side VA 15 minutes from the North Carolina border . My house is a ranch 100 ft long by 36 ft wide 2x6 stud walls and r 30 in attic and floors and walls . Basement walls and slab were insulated also . I figured since this was my retirement house do it right from the beginning . I love my hilltop house except for winds and driving rain . Anything else I need to consider

    You never mentioned the copper ions infused in the shingle which will hopefully prevent discoloration somewhere down the line. And you play too safe, I'm considering the Sunset color which nobody in my neighborhood has. It would look great with a white house.

    • @roofingtips
      @roofingtips  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey! I have another video that talks about the Scotchgard protector in the shingle.
      Sunset wasn’t available when this video was made. I think we should do another one, especially with the new pinnacle shingle coming out!

    • @roofingtips
      @roofingtips  ปีที่แล้ว

      That’s why you’ve got to make sure your roofer brings out actual shingle samples so you can decide, in person. Did that not happen?

    • @cindyk4145
      @cindyk4145 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@roofingtips no, i picked them out of the sample photo board in the store and used a visualizer, they didnt have a sample board of them. Just not as much dark brown to tones, as what is in this video.

    What would be your recommendation for a Mastercraft home with light to medium beige-tan vinyl siding with a lighter, traditional brick porch? The roofing trim is a darker, espresso brown color.
    And, what are some of the features you like best about Atlas shingles?

    • @roofingtips
      @roofingtips  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think Pristine heather or Majestic shake would look the best. The scotchgard is the biggest thing for me. Having a roof that looks the same 10-20 years from now than it did the day it was installed is a big deal!
