The first start problem was corrosion on the battery head and the contact not good enough as the head were put on and not tightened. It was that, that caused the instruments to go off when they tried to start it. Taking the battery head off and putting it on again helped the connection.
That was was I figured was happening after it ended up starting. But when it didn't start I think we all assumed some pack rat had eaten some wire we were going to have to chase down. -Grace
@@theroverdivas You have a lovely Disco there. My stepfather passed away last month and his 1992 Disco has been passed on to me. I am spending quite a bit of time getting things right again.
Thanks Gene! After a couple of times tightening and un-tightening the battery cable, I just left it loose. Could have been part of the problem, but there was a lot of corrosion and I am thinking we will have to replace the whole cable. -Kelly
Great video!!!!!!!!!
I love landrovers

I just got a Disco 1 myself. This is awesome! It's great to see the enthusiasm and joy for a car. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely love my D1 and there was definitely more joy when this one started. -Grace

The Rover Divas always will be
Go, Merlin, GO!
Thanks Jeff, hopefully this fall you will get to see it in action first hand. -Kelly
So it still needs a brake job? The reason it was parked in the first place or have you already done the brakes?
We figured if it didn't run, there was no point in fixing the brakes. Brakes are relatively easy to fix vs. an engine rebuild. -Kelly
Do you have a link or can tel me where to get the software you used for the Disco1?
