- Despite the seeming plethora of languages, there are innumerable common words that everybody in #Bharat understands.
Putting aside the politically motivated debates on whether Sanskrit/Hindi/English should be the #National_Language_of_India,
if we take a calmer, closer look, we see clear patterns emerge from all #Regional_Languages_of_India, which strongly reinforces the common cultural fabric. #Sanskrit is the backbone which holds this connection together.

I bought Bhagavad Gita(in Hindi) recently. Sir, could you tell me *all the Sanskrit books* that every Indian should read in their lives. How many Sanskrit books did you read?
Why is this not in trending page of youtube, Chinese mock us as slaves of Europeans and we do nothing to change this perception.
@@crazyphoton4783 We(people who love Indian culture, Sanskrit n other Indian languages & Hindutva) need a really Intelligent & very Successful person, who can attract & motivate people from every class, age, gender, religion, region and political thinking; then people will understand the value of Sanskrit & Indian Vedic culture. But currently, the situation is opposite Learning Sanskrit is not cool & the Sanskrit language doesn't help you in getting a job. I think that's why our generation doesn't care about Sanskrit and old Vedic culture. They want to be cool & that's why they learn French, German, Chinese and Japanese and all these languages also help them in earning their living.

@Reeta Dubey The religion is correlational and basically irrelevant. The _language_ Sanskrit influenced those countries' native languages. England was never a "Hindu and Buddhist country", yet English has words like _jungle_ , _pundit_ , _guru_ , _juggernaut_ , _sugar_ , etc. which all derive from Sanskrit.

The spelling is not relevant. It depends on how somebody decided the spoken word or Sanskrit script should be transliterated into the roman script.
@@rogerunderhill4267 Well it is somewhat relevant. Malay doesn't have aspirated consonants, so it is spelled without the h. Also, Malay has switched to using the Latin alphabet in relatively recent history, so that's the spelling in Malay. Regardless, there are actually proper, standardized ways to transliterate Indic languages to the Latin alphabet: the Hunterian method and the ISO 15919 method.

there is also a tadbhava: 'भुई' in marathi that comes from Maharashtri prakrt. But its obscure now, only used in certain rural dialects.

Since more than 70% of each Indian language has Sanskrit root in it. Sanskrit should be our national language.

I personally support Sanskrit, since my language Malayalam has nearly 80% Sanskrit connections in it. And Sanskrit is a very lovely poetic bhasha too. The day has reached that we have to respect our culture fully.

my first language is Hindi. I visited some states like Bengal, tamilnadu, Karnataka, Gujrat and maharastra for official purpose and stayed for a while. When I started to listen different languages I found so many words are common in each language that were taken form Sanskrit. Since I know a little bit Sanskrit I could understand. Now i listen music in all different languages. And after listening 9 or 10 times I can understand them.😃

Deepak pandey sir it's not like that all languages are not came from Sanskrit for example Tamil, it will also survive without the help of Sanskrit words, these two languages are act as a bridge of North Indian languages and South Indian languages we don't know exactly which one is oldest because Sanskrit having some scientific Vedas and Tamil have so many literatures and classical culture things and Long history and also both languages having several names for one object so many words like that

I'm from Assam and i speak my native language which is Assamese ( অসমীয়া). The word bhumi ( भूमि) means land in our language. We usually say as mati (মাটি) instead of bhumi (ভূমি).

Mati is soil or land? The term used in Bihar and Jharkhand is Mati/Mitti and means soil while Bhumi or Zamin means land.

We use the term mati (মাটি / मिट्टी ) to mean the soil and even for the land we use the same term.
For example:
1) Give me a handful of soil.
মোক একমুঠি মাটি দিয়া।
2) i own this 14,400 sq ft land.
এই মাটি বিঘা মোৰ।

It saddens my heart to know how English "came about" in Bharat (or India) because the European colonnial modus operandi works essentially the same way wherever it is employed, causing great perplexity. Five hundred years ago, some Europeans came to this land where now I live, which was called by a great number of its inhabitants "Pindorama", and named it Brazil. They enforced their religion, took the riches, murdered the native peoples and changed everything. Tens of languages were spoken back in the day, but nowadays it is said that our only and official language is Portuguese - history made sure of that either by slaughter or by banishing any other language. I don't know the languages of the people who lived here before (and whose remainders still fight to keep a small fraction of their land) and, to be honest, I cannot claim them as my ancestors any more than the Portuguese or the various Afrikan peoples brought here by the same Europeans to be slaves. The colonial heritage has a way of messing everything up.
However, as my heart goes to those who fight in Bharat to keep their cultural heritage, I have to confess: if English had not become the lingua franca of our century, we would not be talking right now. It was through this language that I came to know of Bharat, to admire its richness, to revere its Gods and Godesses, to consider learning Sanskrit and to be able to support a channel like this one. So, what I want to say is that if the colonizers in the 15th or the 20th century wanted to draw us apart, in the end, what they imposed on us brought us together. It doesn't wash away their crimes, I know; but I ask all of you to remember: not all who speak English are somehow erasing Sanskrit or other national languages, though it did happen and still does. Many, quite to contrary, use this modern, western language to learn the ancient, eastern one, to preserve it and love it. In the end, the erased conquer. Namaskaram!

1. Sanskrit is indeed older than Tamil. Infact a newer layer of Rigvedic Sanskrit is attested in archeological inscriptions in Iraq-Syria region from 18th century BCE when the original Sanskrit speaker migrated out of Indus region post the decline of urban phase of Indus Civilization
2. These Sanskrit speaker went onto establish kingdoms in Iraq-Syria region. They were known as Kassites who ruled Babylonia from 1750 BCE and Mitanni who rules Syrian region from 1510BCE.
3. Older layer of Rigvedic Sanskrit can be attested in India 3th millennium BCE using hydrology evidence of Saraswati river systems (Chatterjee et al 2019) & archeological evidence from Indus Civilisation that shows cultural/religious presence via Fire Altars, Yoga Figurines etc.

Read any research report or article or even Wikipedia , relating to Indus valley scripts.
Many archaeologist agree that Sanskrit has nothing to do with Indus valley civilisation. Rather the scripts and culture are related to old tamil and Paraiyar community (A tribe from TN, Kerala and Sri Lanka).

Rishi means someone who has renounced the world and is engaged in austerities and penance.
Muni means a philosopher a knowledgable person who has knowledge about various sciences and all that.

Grown up in tamil nadu so i speak kashmiri marati hindi tamil and punjabi and also have a better understanding of malyalam,kannada and telgu..I think there is a great link between Sanskrit or pali the predecessor of Sanskrit with modern day indian languages words like janam.. bhumi..asura...are some examples that span across every language ive ever encountered, wish we indians understand our superior nature and support each other in our endeavours so that we grow into a much better and advanced society!!

Is it requires correction to form 'Proto-Indian' by combining 'Indo-Aryan' and 'Dravidian'?". For eg, I think Malayalam(Dravidian) is more similar to Sanskrit(Indo-European) than English(Indo-European).
We should simply discard western notions and theories.
Yes it is because English is a Germanic branch of Indo European family whereas Sanskrit is from the Indo Iranian branch, Indic sub branch.
I still do think that Indo-aryan and dravidian are two distinct language families, in fact, of all the languages in India, there are also languages that are related to the sinitic language family, austronesian language family, polynesian language family and so on. Just because they are less in number today does not reflect the ancient times. India has a far more fascinating and complex history than the western notion of aryan-dravidian India.
For the fact why malayalam is more similar to sanskrit than say english, the obvious reason is proximity, when people talk, they speak more like each other. Take for example the swedish and finnish languages, they come from separate language families, but on a first impression they sound exactly like each other.

Yes bro... There are certain words borrowed from Sanskrit in Tamil... But it does not mean that
Tamil itself has no words to replace its counterpart in Sanskrit... For example... Bhumi is called Nilam in Tamil.... Tamil is the only Indian language which can survive with its own words
Same for telugu telugu has many loaned words but in villages they use other words which are not sanskrit words. Bhumi is also called nela in telugu
Nilam in malayalam
Nela in Sanskrit and Pali nela means na+ela or aneda means "pure clean" since in sanatanam bhumi is considered pure and clean thus nela word is refd . to it.. It also means harmless,compassionate,faultless, gentle,merciful .. anela-gala pure speech , merciful speech etc...
In lalitavistara read the line aneda kalaikavarna ie Buddha's compassionate speech ..

Our writing scripts and grammatical rules are way different and even without sanskrit words we can communicate with equivalent words in Dravidian vocabulary. Dravidian languages and sino Tibetan language are nothing to do with indo Aryan Prakrit script .
But Brahmins won't agree. It is confined to them.

Marathi language is derived from Sanskrut, also has exactly same script. If one observes, almost all the verbs and words can be linked to the verbs and words in Sanskrut.
Maharashtrians are proud to acknowledge the inheritance rather than trying to prove otherwise.
This is our heritage, our legacy.
Sanskrit should be made a compulsory language in schools. We learn English for making a living. But we HAVE to learn Sanskrit if we want to have vridhi. Making a living is important but eternal happiness and peace are ultimate goals of soul. This can be achieved only and only by learning Sanskrit. Because not only our culture our very NATURE exists in Sanskrit.🙏
