    Keeping pressure on inside of right leg, improved my game so much. Didnt realize how much I was swaying before. Good stuff

    I’d love to see a video on lag putting and pace control. I think a lot of high handicap golfers could benefit from that.

      Practice the ladder drill for better lag putting. Also, learn how far to bring the putter head back to manage certain distances, keeping the same swing tempo. I’m just a 9-10 hdcp these days but putting is a strong part of my game.

      @ lag putting is what I think will help me break 90 more regularly. I’m definitely going to take this advice. Thank you! ⛳️

      @@qwinn4911 You can save a ton of strokes pretty easily just by becoming a better putter and learning how to manage your speed on the greens. It just takes some practice. A good rule of thumb is speed is more important than line. If you end up two feet right or left of the hole it has less impact than if your first putt is six feet short.

    I appreciate your videos so much. I didn't play golf for 22 years and when I came back to the game a year ago I picked my two favorite TH-cam dudes to learn from. You are one of them and I have really grown so much from you and your teaching style. Well done sir. I hope you have a Happy New Year and all the best to you in 2025!

    Compiling the pieces to figure out the puzzle of "The Secret". Nice work. Intuitive. Reading Hogan's Rosetta Stone. People do doctoral research just on his book. Much deeper than it appears. Nicely done.

    This is a good interpretation of what Ben Hogan was trying to get across. It's not overwhelming and overly done.

    Hogan's secret was being consistent - he practised way more than the others. The big thing was that he took the left side of the course out by weakening his grip and stopping the sway on take-away that made the club path too inside. Lee Trevino said he followed Hogan's advice and said "You can talk to a fade, but a hook refuses to listen". Hogan actually said "Hooks are the terror of the field mice" - he did everything to remove the left side of the course as a problem. Back then players hit it (tried) straight or both ways - Hogan did not (no draw or hook) and that made him ultra consistent.

    Geez someone really figured out the Secret 😊👍💯 Correct Practice Creates Correct Golf - most of us recreational players don’t understand that or don’t know what to do 👍

    I like the idea of concentrating on a specific move for 50 shots. I'm also a pane of glass fan. The shallowing craze is destructive. If your plane shallows a bit it's the result of a good kinetic chain. Hogan had an incredible kinetic chain.

  • @jeffs7773
    @jeffs7773 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

    For me the key is a slight bend in the left forearm. As soon as that bend meets my swing plane I trigger. As long as I decelerate at the exact moment of maximum axis rotation my shot will be true. That’s probably the same thing hogan was trying to say I just made it simpler

    I read and have Bobby jones How i play golf movie shorts on dvd and studied and practiced five lessons. I was shooting in the 70s in about eight months. The book has practice lessons in it that can't be skipped , larry nelson read five lessons and became a major winner makinh him the second player to win a major from a book the first was bobby lock learning from Bobby jones. I must point out the pane of glass was from the ball to the neck and different clubs made the angle different, he said if you lift your hands it breaks the glass. The secret in my humble opinion is Hogan saying you have to dig it out of the dirt( practice practice practice) ty for video

    • @hoganfan2006
      @hoganfan2006 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Correct on the plane going from the ball to the tops of the shoulders and the need to “don’t break the glass.”

    Keys for me.
    Proper alignment and ball position. (AKA, control my low point)
    One waggle, pause, (my start trigger) back swing.
    Feel like someone is pulling my right pocket back. (Rotation, not sway)
    Very slight knee bend and load back leg. (Power from the ground + my forward swing trigger)
    Fire and get my elbow to my gut. Seems like a lot but it’s become automatic for me now. Result = Money. 💰

    It's all in the reconnection of the back elbow to the body, because this is literally where the body and everything combine to create power. The big thing beginners don't get is this, because they are trying to get big width on the back swing, but then you have to rely on a really good reconnection of the back elbow. It's not 100% necessary, however the FEEL is in that, and it's also a major part of shot shaping in terms of height at least, and especially spin, feeling "smacking down" on it if you will vs hitting. ok I'm rambling now

    Often times, we pull up to the course where we’re meeting our buddies, we pay, and we get down to the putting green with like 10-15 minutes before tee time. How would you best use your 15 minutes at the chipping/putting green before a round to maximize success for your round? Please make this video! Thanks!

    Jack Nicklaus is to me as Ben Hogan is to you! I was taught the “Nicklaus method” of playing off the left heel for all shots but it really seems to have dropped out of fashion and the ball “moves about” for different clubs! Is there still a place for the Nicklaus method? Happy New Year when it comes! 🍾🍾

    • @ag358
      @ag358 2 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Bobby Jones addressed it off the inside left heel feet real close on short clubs then moved wider as clubs were longer also he dropped his right foot back on from a seven iron up.

    Hogan said, "If you know where to look, it's easy to see." So, it's not so much "a secret" as it is something very simple that people are unaware of.

    Hogan was trying to cure a very nasty hook. What he did was everything to do with that hook. How many weekend golfers are trying to cure a hook? Exactly. They slice. It is sometimes very dangerous for a slicer to try and copy a professional who is curing his really bad hook. Just a thought lads.

    This is true - Hogan was double jointed in his thumbs and could touch his wrists with them hence the cupped grip and the excessive lag.

    Do you agree? Ben Hogan advised to reverse natural instincts and do the opposite of what you are inclined to do for a perfect swing. I absolutely agree with feeling like not moving the right knee, it works for me.

    Nope. I myself am lefthanded and I also play right handed. He learned to keep from snapping on the ball. Which took the left side of the course out of play.
    So he could hit it has hard as he wanted- espically with driver

    There was only a secret after he said so when asked how he got rid of his hook and began to fade the ball. The weaker grip and rolling the club face away was his secret to his swing dilemma. Any other secret is just made up by the masses because they are not able to duplicate his swing. There is so much video and analysis on his swing that there are no more secrets.
