He breathes and lives the blues yet jerk off bedroom players brush him aside and claim he’s just a copy cat of srv and Jimi Sayce is one of the baddest blues men on this planet ranks higher than Mayer gales and shepherd in my book
It doesn't matter how good someone is at the blues, the blues just isn't coming back like it did in the 90s/early 2000s. He's fucking amazing, but he needs to do something different. His voice and playing are exceptional, but honestly his music is not going to be captured by most audiences other than people who really dig blues.
Jerk off bedroom players have no affect on his career. Wether you like it or not, he is indeed an SRV clone= Same tone, same licks, he even makes the same faces for christs sake. There's nothing wrong with loving SRV and wanting to play just like him. I think its awesome, and he does it really well. But its not a career anymore. Even guys like Kenny Wayne Shepard who made a career out of being an SRV clone have at least tried to move on and develop their own voice. Phil is great, but at the end of the day, there are thousands of guys out there that can play the SRV bag to a tee. Its just not a rare skill anymore.
Sayce is probably the most powerful player I've ever seen in my life. You have to be there with him to really feel the power! It's an amazing experience.
Nobody experiences anything anymore. They just film it so they can make it about them. Hey everyone, look where I am right now. God I hate our culture.
if you havent seen philip actually live in person you need to do yourself a favor and do it. the power of his performances cant be captured by video. its truly unreal being there live.
Absolutely. I saw him last year, he left the stage and walked out into the middle of the crowd mid solo without missing a beat. Best energy of any bluesman I've seen live
What a man.I saw him for the first time two days ago..walking with his guitar on the shouldrer...in Cittanova blues festival..and I wave him ...he turn back...❤
Umm, why isn't this guy headlining large venues? Joe Bonamassa should be introducing this guy to the world as his opening act and I guarantee they will be swapping the headlining spots within a year.
In Joe's defense he has had him on his blue cruise once, maybe twice. But yes, Philip Sayce and Jared James Nichols deserve a hell of a lot more from the "marketing industry". it's sad real talent is barely sometimes from a random related video. Again, check out Jared James Nichols if you like PS. ROCK ON
@@toddkreuzburg4162 “on the planet” as in still alive and breathing… Stevie passed :-( Anyway, I’m being a bit hyperbolic anyway. I agree with what you said about SRV, btw… man is a legend.
Stevie Ray Vaughn was 100% looking down on this, and loving every second of it. From 1:50 on, you could have fooled me into thinking he was the one playing (except for the few shred sections here and there, and the signature Sayce bends), and that is a pretty huge compliment no matter who it's coming from!
A nephew told me about Philip some years back but I didn't check him out. My loss. He's a sensational guitarist. His guesting with Jeff Healey in 2000 was mind-blowing. The SRV influence is clear, but that's no bad thing.
I can’t understand how I’m just finding this guy. How have the algorithm Gods not placed him in any of my feeds or stations!?? Is this a conspiracy?? 😁
how he remains largely unknown baffles and frustrates me. one of the greatest performers I've ever seen.
Tim Ballard he has been called 'one of rocks best kept secrets' the statement is as true as it gets!
Tim Ballard it's because rock is an old thing

What a performer! What a guitarist. How did I just find out about this guy in 2023 I will definitely be looking out for him in Colorado hopefully
Sayce is probably the most powerful player I've ever seen in my life. You have to be there with him to really feel the power! It's an amazing experience.
I'd have to add Chris Duarte to that.
Nobody experiences anything anymore. They just film it so they can make it about them. Hey everyone, look where I am right now. God I hate our culture.
He's got some terrifying chops for sure
Add Randy Hansen there too, his presence is insane

Umm, why isn't this guy headlining large venues? Joe Bonamassa should be introducing this guy to the world as his opening act and I guarantee they will be swapping the headlining spots within a year.
pwalms65 maybe that’s why he doesn’t introduce him 😂
Actually he heard you! :)
They are on a Mediterranean cruise on 2019 Summer...
Joe bonamassas songs are lame as shit

As a matter of fact, Joe payed him on his Satellite radio show.
