- This is one of the top seafood restaurants in the Bradenton, Florida area. It is located in Cortez, just across the SR 684 bridge from Anna Maria Island.
This is our 4th review of the Star Fish.

My first time seeing your review of this one. Nothing wrong with multiple reviews as it is new for your new Subs and provides an update for your old Subs.
Very true. That's one reason we did another one, even though our last review here, was only about 6 months ago. Plus, we did get a little bit of something different this time.

We love Starfish! We always get conch fritters and the royal red shrimp along with grilled grouper.
Does the royal red really taste like lobster?

Glad to see you did another review of Star Fish Company. David is lickin' his lips wanting some of those hushpuppies. The water views are beautiful. Consistency is the key to any good restaurant. All of the food looked good. They know how to fix seafood for sure! The shrimp is outstanding there. Glad you were able to get another great meal there.
We debated on doing a 4th review, especially since we just did one this past summer. But we just decided to do so, since Shawnasi was getting something different that she had never tried.
Also, we are headed to the Ugly Grouper now, based on your review. David was telling me again about it the other day, so we decided to try it. On our way there now.

Our go to spot is Julia’s Fish House on Ruskin, FL. Not on the water, but awesome! Open Wed -Saturday.
The prices seem good. I know I would for sure get the shrimp, in fact that might be what I will fix for supper tonight.
Their shrimp is among the best I've ever had.
cooked Pompano for years at Pepin Restaurant in St. Petersburg..some of the best fish you will ever eat.

We are going for our 3rd time next week. We’ve always gone for lunch and there is a long long line! Any advice as to time of day being less busy? We are bringing our entire family this time (13 of us- 6 kids. Don’t want them getting restless 😂)
This was the least crowded we've ever seen it. We were surprised ourselves, that there weren't more people. There usually is a line.
If I'm not mistaken, we went about 5:00 or so. I don't know if that will work for you, but maybe around that time and in a weekday, and not on the weekend? That's about all I know to tell you. It's a popular place. Hope you enjoy it. Let us know.
Royal Reds are delicious but I'm not sure this is the right time of years for them. They really do taste like lobster l.
That's definitely something we'll be trying in the future.
Good morning from NY! We just booked a couple nights at the Tortuga in December as a Disney decompress. Thank you so much for the amazing recommendations. We're looking to go to The Starfish Company (hubby's bday request) about how far is it from Tortuga? We'll be arriving from Disney on his birthday and are trying to figure out our schedules.
The Star Fish is probably no more than 5 minutes from the Tortuga. Simply turn left out of the Tortuga, and then go down and take another left on Highway 684 and cross the bridge. Then, turn right on 123rd (don't remember if it's Street or Avenue).
Don't be turned away by the outside appearance of the Star Fish. It really is a good dining experience. I do want you to realize they are cash only, so be aware of that before you go.
And please do come back and comment, and let us know what you thought of both places.
Also, if you are going to try other places in the area, consider going to Cheesecake Cutie, and also the Ugly Grouper.
@@NCMemoryMakers we're excited to try those grouper tacos after seeing your review! We have the Ugly Grouper on our list for night #2. We'll need to put my husband's bday candle in something, so Cheesecake Cutie sounds like a great option! Any recommendations for 2 really great breakfast spots?
@@farrahdrayton5030 We only occasionally go out for breakfast.
The only 2 places in that area that we've ever eaten breakfast, are the Gulf Drive Cafe (2020 Trip), and the Rod & Reel Pier Cafe (2022 Trip). We reviewed both.
I will say that I really enjoyed my seafood omelet at the Rod & Reel, but it is a very small place and lots of noise when we went. Might want to watch our review on it, to see if it's something you think you'd like. The views from inside are really good.
I was not as impressed with the Gulf Drive Cafe. My wife did like it.
Those are the only 2 places that I could recommend for breakfast, because it's the only 2 that we've tried.
I forgot to mention, that the Anna Maria Oyster Bar has all-you-can-eat fish & chips on Mondays. It's a pretty decent deal.
