- Star Fish Company is a yearly tradition for us, as we travel down to Siesta Key, Florida.
Star Fish company is located in the little fishing village of Cortez, Florida. It is just across the Highway 684 bridge from beautiful Anna Maria Island on the Gulf of Mexico.
If you are visiting the Sarasota/Bradenton area, Star Fish company is a must visit.

I'm so jealous, we love the Gulf area. My husband and I love Pass A Grille , St Pete Bch and we always go to Sea Critters. I don't eat fish or seafood but he loves it! We sit on the dock and watch the thousands of fish in the water and occasionally dolphins. Thanks for sharing...loved the virtual vacation.😊 We're limited on travel due to an ailing 16 yo Chihuahua, Abby Lu.

That place you described in St. Petersburg Beach, sounds amazing. We'd love to check it out if we get to that area.

Thank you. Be sure and post if you make it there, we haven't been in a couple of yrs so not sure if anything has changed. There's also a delicious Greek deli like restaurant (tiny place) across from the Post Card Inn in St Pete. We thought it was really good..I had a Greek saladand Spanakopita. Yum!!
Nice drone footage! Like the peach shirts. Very tropical looking. Consistency is what keeps a restaurant in business! Y'all making us hungry for some Star Fish Company. 😃David remembers those hushpuppies being so good!
@vafunseekers Yes, those hush puppies are very good. And I seem to remember him having an anxious moment, when he loved those oysters so much that he had to make a comparison...... lol.

@@vafunseekers Lol...It sure is. I could see nothing but glare from the sun, but finally put my hat over it, and was able to barely make it out.
The water is just now, today, starting to clear back up from the Tropical Storm. Not the way we're used to seeing SK. Very murky.

We used to go to a place like that called Julia Mae's near St. George Island, Florida. I would get the same thing everytime too.😊 Loved the palm branch Shawnasi. It made Derrick lose his track of thought!!!😅

It sure did. She does things like that. She knew I was kind of nervous about feeling anything on my neck after that thing bit into me. So, she thought she would be cute for the video. And I did forget what I was saying momentarily.
Yes, we both loved going to places like this. It's just a really authentic Florida experience.
Glad yalls meal was great as always. Consistency is key in a restaurant. Love the box the meals come in. I'd use one of those, unused of course, to diplay in our nautical bathroom .
Our bathroom has a bit of a nautical theme, as well. And yes, I love a place that is consistent. And this place is certainly that.

Yes, absolutely a place worth trying. We are glad to hear that you have been there and enjoyed it. We've done past reviews on it, but this place is just so good, we like to continue featuring it.
We stopped by the Star Fish Co on our last trip down to AMI. We were very impressed and are planning on stopping in once again when we're in the Siesta Key area on our next trip too!

Lol, All those umbrellas and you guys ate in the Sunshine, i need shade when I eat outside, Hope the fur babies had shade 😢, Food looks delicious and the views
The food was delicious. We were actually in the shade. Where we were, actually was more shaded than what the umbrellas provide. That's actually the reason we didn't opt for the umbrella section this time.
If you go to 3:50 in the video, you can see the yellow covering over our table. Like you, I have to have shade...especially with my lack of hair to cover my head. I would be burnt in no time. And yes, we always make sure they are out of the sun. The stroller itself, has a top that covers them, plus we were under the yellow thing.
This is one of the best seafood places we've been to. Thank you so much for watching.

I love to fish, but I hadn't been in years since my dad passed away. The boats on the water is nice. I like seeing all the stores you go on. Your videos make a great day. ❤❤😊

The Gulf side of Florida is still nice. East side all built up now. Like the Old style Florida better. My go to winter fishing 🎣 spot.. be well MB..
Yes, we agree. While we do love the Florida east coast along Highway A1A, the Gulf beaches are simply the best.
Nice videos. If you need a free and worthwhile thing to do, Sarasota City Hall has an exhibition of the Florida Highwaymen paintings on the hallway walls. City Hall also has a free parking lot. The 26 original Florida Highwaymen painted old Florida landscape scenes back in the 50s to sell to tourists driving down Route 1 to Miami. Since then they have been well documented and made famous on numerous PBS TV shows and books and newspapers, Their paintings sell now in the thousands of dollars. They were all black men and one woman and were selling these paintings for around $20 which was way more money than picking Oranges for 25 cents a basket. The paintings were approx 16x20 and in some cases the paint was still wet at time of sale. Some of the highwaymen are still alive today, all of them have been inductted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame in Talahassee. Selby Gardens is currently also running a Highwaymen show but Selby has an admission charge. The City Hall paintings are quite nice and are all original Highwaymen oil paintings.
That is very interesting. We were unaware of this. Hopefully, we'll be able to get over there and see that. If not this trip, then next year for sure. We come to this area every year. We have to leave on Friday, but hopefully, we can do that.

I know this is not relating to y’all’s trip but could you do an education video on points and room stays that yall do? I am getting close to retirement and my husband and I would like to start traveling more but not sure how the points and room stuff works. ❤😂
Basically, join a club like Wyndham or Choice Hotels. Those companies have several hotel chains they own. We prefer Wyndham, because their points don't expire, and Choice Hotels points do, if you don't use them in a certain amount of time.
Basically, with your points, you can accumulate enough to get either discounted nights, or free ones. Wyndham sometimes will send us offers to earn extra points, just by booking and staying at one of their hotels within a certain amount of time.
We applied for a Wyndham credit card on their site. If approved, they will usually give you a really good discount, in the form of a $50.00 statement credit, just for booking. Make sure and use your Wyndham card for all bookings at one of their hotels.
Wyndham group is: Super 8, Days Inn, Baymont, LaQuinta, Ramada, Travelodge, Microtel, Howard Johnson, Hawthorne Extended Stay, Wingate, Wyndham Garden, Echo Suites, Vienna House, Registry Collection Hotels, Esplendor, and Dazzler.
Some of those we have never heard of, but they are the ones listed on Wyndham's website.

I just want to know the basics….no drone or anything. Just wondering if there is an app that will let you pause or upload videos to so they can be edited. Will be new at this so not sure how to do it. I apologize if this is a dumb question😊

You are correct...Everything is up in price, especially food. Our meal here, was $56 and change.
