Hello I am painting a chest using the same sprayer as the one you have on the video. It started off great but then after a while it started to skip and couldn’t get it to work properly. Do you know how to trouble shoot this issue?
This is the first video i've found that explains properly how to use this. Most are just "fill it, spray it, clean it". Thanks for taking the time to go into a bit more detail.
Great video. Thank you. It's a whole lot easier on the back doing it this way. Love that you don't go on with your personal life or crazy music that makes it really difficult for me to concentrate. Keep up the good work. Bye from down under.
I am planning on painting my house front and doors so I searched for reviews on a Wagner 2416643 Model Sprayer to read the reviews assuming I could justify the dough and achieve the results I wanted. Your post pretty much answered my questions. Mixing the paint, usage and cleaning. Now have to look at colors! Thank You
I took a chance with this spray gun to teach myself. I’m enjoying the experience and it gives surprisingly good results. Plus it comes with 3 years warranty. Greta video and nice points and hints raised. Thank you. 👍🏻
Hey! I just bought my own Wagner 3000 and now that I randomly came across your video, I'll be able to apply these great techniques you showed. Thanks a bunch! 😉
Whoa, huge difference in price $1300🤯... I'm sure it's worth it for the pro. As far as I'm concerned my Wagner 3500 will have to do for my occasional refinishing. Thanks for your vid.👍🏻
This was such a great video! I am finally going to take the plunge after years and years of painting with brushes and buy an entry level sprayer to see how I like it. I am that person who will take apart everything to clean it and the soapy water and then clean water run through the sprayer to clean it out is so helpful! I do the same with my Bissel little carpet cleaner to keep it from getting smelly. Thanks for all the tips! Fingers crossed!
I've been super nervous to use my sprayer, it's still in the box. Have something I have to paint before the weekend and this video has given me the push of confidence I need to get started. Thanks so much!
this Is the the exact kind of video i was looking for, thanks a lot for the clear and straight to the point instructions without any waffling. For mixing the paint i use a paint mixer drill attachment it’s only 2inch wide so fits into the paint holder no problem but gets it all mixed up perfectly in 10 seconds
Thank you. I went and bought this Wagner after watching your video clip. It was so incredibly helpful. Started my chalk paint project today. Thank you again.
For a better surface finish, you need to sand (or scurff) the high spots after each coat, clean it. throughly, then apply the next coat. but it is pretty good. thank you for the tutorial on the wagner's spraygun
This answers questions I had about a new sprayer. As a first time user I didnt want to do something wrong and end up buying another one and you made it simple and easy. I am so relieved after seeing this video. Big thanks. And subbed. Cause I think I'm going to need your expertise alot. ;)
Wow thank you for the video it really helps me to understand my paint sprayer and what to do I’m glad I ordered my paint sprayer and it comes with all the little stuff that you showed on the video thank you for getting right to the point instead of prolonging and making the video much tougher to look at I looked at several and believe me you got to the point thank you ma’am I appreciate your time your effort for showing me a beginner on how to use my paint spraygun appreciate it have a blessed day
Great video! Thank you! I don’t have a big compressor so I have to use electric! I started painting a table and 4 chairs. Ugh! It was black and I’m doing white! It’s taking forever! Also a ton of paint. Word to the wise. When going from black to white paint a gray primer! LOL I have only used a sprayer twice and it wasn’t a happy experience. I had more paint all over the place than I did on the project. Your video was just what I was looking for. Thank you!
3:06 I went to Home Depot and they didn’t even have any dust tech cloth wipes and they definitely didn’t have these filters that I’ve seen on like four videos that are people using are like a particle coffee filter and I’m just not going back to the hardware store I wanna get started on my project but you’re probably right on that with the particles hopefully it will work out first time.
I am just getting into furniture rehab. This video was SO HELPFUL!! Your step by step tutorial was interesting and educational. It helped me to make the decision to go with the Wagner for now. If I stick with flipping, (I think it could get addictive!😂😂) I will probably want that Fuji. TY AGAIN FOR A GREAT VID!!
Thank you SO MUCH for this! I just ordered one if these and I'm using it for the first time today so your video is just what I needed. Also, I didn't know you get such stuff as pre-taped plastic! What a boon 💥 I'm so happy know about that. All this time I've been using cut up bin bags and masking tape. 🍀
Thank you for a very informative how-to video, I had to bookmark it. You have inspired me to invest in the same paint sprayer because I don't care for the brush strokes you get on repainted furniture pieces; I prefer a smooth finish.
Very concise and easy to follow. I have the same sprayer, and am preparing to spray my vintage metal kitchen cabinets. You have relieved my fear of breaking out the sprayer. I can do this. It'll be with oil-based paint, but all the rest is the same. Here goes nuthin'!
@@jennyfay4441 I ended up not using the Wagner. I used Rustoleum Appliance Paint in the spray can. I think it says "Epoxy" in the title as well. I sanded every inch; starting with 80 grit, because there was brushed-on semi gloss from decades ago, and then sanded visible areas with 120 then 220. I wiped everything down, thoroughly, with rubbing alcohol, and painted. It came out FANTASTIC! Brought our kitchen back to life! Seriously.
I literally just picked up a Wagner sprayer at the Goodwill. It is still in the box and has never been used, but I think it’s an older model. I was wondering if it could be used on furniture and now I have my answer. Thanks for posting!
Once again a excellent video. I am going to try using a spray painter but was looking for a video to help me. And here it is! I am so glad I subscribed to this channel right after I watched the first videos I wish I could have found it sooner. Buy boy am I glad I found it when I did😊😊😊😊❤️❤️❤️
Thank you very much for this excellent tutorial. It was right to the point and no unnecessary blabbing. The desk turned out just beautiful ❤️ **Update** I just ordered this sprayer. Your tutorial was so good that I'm confident I can use it and do a good job!!
Great tutorial. I am a brand new beginner with spray paint. Two questions. Can you use stain in the spraygun? Also, is exterior paint,water-base have the same procedures or thinning and cleaning. Thank you. Donna
Yes, you can use stain in the sprayer. And yes all waterbased paints have basically the same procedures. Read the container of your paint to make sure it is okay to thin it.
Thank you for Sharon your expertise. I would have liked to have seen the difference between the beginner sprayer and the professional sprayer and results on your furniture.
My wagner is spitting SO BADLY and I cant find anything to help me online. Thought maybe Id give commenting on your video a try since you had some pretty helpful tips. Thanks!!!!
Hello, great video you've got there🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹. I intend buying W100 to use it for indoor walls, I need to know if you've tried indoor walls and how fast was it. God bless you 🙏🙏🙏
This is a very helpful video. I have the same sprayer. you didn't mention what settings you use on the sprayer. I looked through the comments but didn't see it anywhere, what settings do you keep your sprayer at?
Hi - great job with the video! Thank you. I just purchased the exact same Wagner sprayer for my cabinets, but am having some issues with streaking (I guess you'd call it). I get one nice spray line that is mirror like followed by one that is rough in texture and so on and so on. It's very strange and very disappointing. The cabinet doors look great - until the sun shines on them and they actually looked striped! Any idea why this would occur?
Your paint overlaps are too far apart, try moving the spray gun closer to what you're spraying (so you don't get as much overspray) and on the return stroke, position your spray gun so that what you're spraying overlaps the wet paint you just applied on your first pass.
I bought a sprayer - different brand, and I just get splatters - even with the smallest nozzle. I guess you get what you pay for. This looks so much better.
This usually means you have too much paint and not enough air. Find the adjustment that controls how much paint comes out and turn it down. For example you may see an adjustment that makes ithe distance you can pull the trigger back , less or more. Turn it so you can pull the trigger back less, not as far. This will then make less paint come out. That way there is enough air to properly atomize the paint. Another option in concert is to also try increasing how much air is coming out. Also try thinning the paint even more.
Do you know if I need add water to thinning Benjamin Moore advanced paint? I used Graco Truecoat 360 ds its spray out too thick coat and dripping later.
Bought a W100 earlier this year. so far not impressed Cant seem to get the mixture right either too thick or too watery. Where did you get the measuring cup from. I cant seem to locate it any place on the net. At this stage Im ready to go back to my old system.
I have the same model and always have trouble unscrewing the canister even after 10 minutes. I wish it had something to grip or an intention on the canister so you can turn the top part.
Love the video. I used my Wagner for the first time this weekend. Pretty happy with the results. Two questions.... I had a LOT of paint left over in the container when it stopped painting, almost about 2" from bottom of container.... and my pain came out kind of splotchy at certain points, like not a full "stream" and ideas? I did water it down and did the voscocity test, but maybe it was still too thick?
Yeah, most paint sprayers that have the container on the bottom have a hard time getting all of the paint out of the container before having a hard time. It sounds like the paint sprayer was just having a hard time sucking up the paint. Like if you had it tilted up, or on its side, it couldn’t pick up enough paint? Or was it having a hard time the whole time?
How was your suction tube placed? If there is enough paint in the container, and the tube is all the way pushed in, and pointed in the opposite way you’re angling the sprayer, you shouldn’t have issues. If the end of the suction tube isn’t fully in paint, it makes the paint come out in spurts.
Tried mine today with metal black paint. Should have watched this first!!! Definitely thin out the paint , it was splattering. I also run out quickly. Oil based paint is a nuisance to clean.

If you don’t take the drawers out, doesn’t it leave unpainted parts on the inside drawer sections of the desk?
