This was most annoying and made the spray gun quite difficult to use. We renewed the gun's pump assembly for this reason and all was great for a while but the same issue has reappeared after just a few uses. We may be doing something wrong but I really don’t know what? Always pull the trigger just before applying paint to whatever you're painting e.g a couple of inches before you hit the piece you want to paint this will help stop splatter but see further how you eliminate it. A professional won't stop for every pass, it'll be continious, that takes practice. Anyway spurts are usually caused by build up of paint on the tip which then projects itself onto whatever you're painting. You need to periodically stop, clean the tip, test spray, then carry on. Keep the distance between what you're painting and the gun consistent. The tendency for beginners is to ark as their arm stretches, don't move you're body not your arm. The Idaho painter (that's his channel name) has a great channel that novices can learn how pro's spray. Practice of scraps of wood, if you get runs don't be tempted to fix when while the paint is wet, it'll make a bigger mess, leave, sand, start again. The Gracos will spray any paint out the tin, a wagner of other hvlp/xvlp won't so the trick is test and measure each test so you can replicate the consistency of the paint with the appropriate thinner for the paint. Not all Gracos do oil based paint, check first, or you may cause a fire. Oh and ALWAYS wear a respirator not a dust mask
Cool video. I was thinking although Graco gave more even coverage, the final product just looks like painted mdf almost too perfect and with some of the wood grain coming through it looks like an heirloom piece wood can be stripped bare painted, stripped again stained, covered in pvc vinyl but removed with a Wagner Heat Gun so letting the grain show through makes the statement "I'm the real deal not some compressed wood that holds up but only slightly better than cardboard ever will. Well, I see the poster make several mistakes that I used to make. 1. it is AIRLESS sprayer, you need screw the canister tight. tilt it so air in canister is on the side with air valve than squeeze the can untill droplet of paint comesout of the air remoal valve and close the valve capmtight. 2. you need to prime new can. 3. you need to to dilute the paint to 30-60 DIN. lastly learn what power for what tip. Hi there!! I put water in to thin the paint. Start with a little and add more as needed. Stir it in between to incorporate the water. It should be runny but not watery. May take a couple tries to find the right consistency so try with cheap paint and on an unimportant surface until you get the hang of it. As for priming, there should be instructions for that in the directions. If not, check out this video: th-cam.com/video/Z9s_ZIkoj2A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=INFyVXQAKFBix78t
Graco is a known painting industry standard. So when I saw the title I knew what the outcome would be. As far as clean up, any one who paints knows that in order for your tools to work properly, you have to do an immediate & thorough clean up. Like Right Now !
i had the same problem with my wagner i just got. i really have to turn the setting up high, which makes it splotchy. if your working outside and want to spray something at ground level so you dont get your brushes filled with dirt, the air the gun pushes out will kick the dirt up onto your project. but if you dont have enough power it simply wont cover what your doing. i did my entire old fence which is small spaced boards old style and i used it on that because its 40 yrs old and on its last breath and wanted to get it done before winter. i used it as a exterior paint and there is parts i just couldnt cover so i ended up using a roller on the entire thing anyways after to touch it up. i think its better for a primer where you dont need to be clean or worry about every spot covered. it also blows through the paint fast sometimes. but like she said in the video i had problems with it spraying at first and going through tons of paint, then it started spraying better and using less paint. it really made no sense honestly. i would prob never use a paint sprayer on something i really want to look good. only on something old thats a project for fun or something not important thats already falling apart. otherwise ill just use a paint brush for most things. even rollers sometimes leave a lumpy look and soak up the paint so i have to determine between roller and brush. if the surface is completely flat then ill do roller. oh also the overspray of the wagner is ridiculous. it blew prob 10 feet behind the fence i was spraying. i noticed halfway through and had to tarp every section so my rocks would stop being hit by paint. im amazed how much it covers far away that you arent spraying at vs what your actually spraying. oh also it is heavy as hell to, your arm will be sore unless your a brute mutant
The flexio are a DIY sprayer as the graco one used is already a painting trader beginner tool. The better comparison on this occasion would be graco true coat 360 x Wagner flexio. I’ve never used the graco 360, however I believe they are also rated diy pulverizers. I’ve been using the Wagner Xvlp 3500 for almost 15years , as a professional on the painting trades. Probably done over 100 projects on a single machine, and can confidently say that is a machine on the professional level but has also some inconsistency, specifically when starting to spray solvent based. All in all, I can say I have got my investment paid on my Xvlp a long time ago. My advice for beginners on painting is that if you’re looking for a professional level entry machine, flexio are not a good option and should definitely go for Xvlp or graco ultra max units.
You can buy 3 or 4 Wagners for the price of one Graco. Wagner at the right setting, right speed and thinning thicker paints should be close to the same.
This is more of a Graco promotion than an unbiased comparison. Everything and everywhere tells you to paint with an overlap, but what you demonstrate as a result delivered by Wagner at 3:57 is just 3 thick stripes running across the surface. The real difference between the 2 sprayers is that Wagner allows you to apply a thinner coat. You could spray one or 2 more coats with Wagner and you would achieve better results. I much prefer spending more time applying 4 thin coats to just applying 2 thick ones which will leave streaks as the Graco did at 4:30. Especially when you paint vertical surfaces. Also, you mentioned that the Wagner left streaks, but I couldn't find any in your video. The Graco obviously did. I bet that with Graco you also get more paint accumulation in trim corners and any sort of fine detail.
Maybe you misunderstood which one I was referring to as the graco one because the graco left no streaks at all. As I said in the video, I believe there is a time and place for both sprayers
I hope this message finds you well. I wanted to address some concerns regarding the spray technique used in your recent demonstrations. While your efforts are appreciated, there are some improvements that could be made to ensure better results. Firstly, it appears that the paint being used is too thick, causing eggshelling on both machines. I recommend thinning down the paint according to the instructions provided with the kit, using a velocity cup to ensure proper consistency. If the paint is not running correctly, it may need to be thinned further. Additionally, it's important to note that HVLP is generally used for furniture while Airless is better suited for walls and ceilings. The kits you are using are starter kits, and there are many brands available. I would recommend considering Graco HVLP kits, Apollo, or Fujitsu for furniture, and the Graco Airless for walls and ceilings. Lastly, please ensure that the paint being used is suitable for spraying. Not all paints are sprayable, and it's important to check the instructions to avoid any issues. I hope you find this feedback helpful, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any further questions. Please think before you advise as you are still very amature in this field, Also please check with an antiques professional before you refinish thrift bought furniture, As you could unknowingly destroy a masterpiece,
Thank you so much for the feedback! I really do appreciate it. I am 100% an amateur and was only really giving my amateur opinion on the topic. And I do check every piece a makeover before painting it and only add to it if I think I am adding value and never (or if a client requests it) painting anything if it devalues it
Hi @MissFlips, I'm glad to see your passion for creating content on TH-cam! While I haven't had a chance to watch all your videos, I'd love to offer some advice on a modern re-spray technique for thrift furniture. To start, I suggest investing in a good HVLP kit like the Apollo 1500 (My Fav)Graco, Fujitsu equivalent depending on where you live. This will come with a gun and a turbine. Next, find a good car paint supplier and a piece of furniture to practice on. Here are the steps to follow: 1.Give the furniture a deep clean. Sand the surface lightly with 240-320 grit sandpaper for a factory smooth finish. 2. Use grey primer when buying car paint to achieve deep, colorful selections. 3. Apply the first coat of primer, which should be a dashing of primer. You'll likely need 2-3 coats to start, but as you become more familiar with the material, you'll get better. 3. Sand down the primer with 800 grit or higher depending on the finish you want. The goal is to etch the surface to help with paint adhesion and smooth out blemishes. Blow off the dust from the panels with the turbine. 4. Put a small amount of thinners on a rag and use it to wipe down the surface. 5. Use tack cloth to remove any remaining imperfections. 6. Clean the gun. 7. Add the paint to the cup using filters. Automotive paint shouldn't need to be thinned as it will have a ratio already. The car paint supplier will tell you the ratio, usually around 3:1. Then, mask off the area and do a light first coat. You're not looking to finish, just a nice soft sprinkling. Wait for about half an hour since automotive paint dries quickly. 8.Then sand down with 2000-3000 grit, wipe with a thinner cloth, and tack off again. Apply a second coat, and keep repeating until you achieve a beautiful wet look finish. I hope this technique is helpful! If you have any further questions, feel free to reach out to me. I'd be happy to chat and offer any additional assistances Regards Ro
Thanks for the video. A question if you don't mind. I'm completely new to this. Why would you not use a pneumatic paint sprayer? For the price you pay for the Graco, you can probably get a compressor and a nice sprayer, can't you?
The skip you are talking about is from air pockets, it needs to be primed at an angle when you set it up to reduce the amount of air at the top then you won't see skips.
The graco specifically says in the instructions not to thin the paint. There was absolutely no texture from the graco. Not sure about the tip size and speed since this video was awhile ago
The reason you got uneven coverage is that you are not overlapping your spray patterns evenly. Each pass should overlap the same amount approximately 50% 40 year auto paunter
The Graco TrueCoat airless system sprays a lot more paint each pass than the Wagner Flexio system which atomizes the paint and uses a jacket of air to force the paint to go where it is aimed. Because of the thinner spray, you must move slower with the Wagner Flexio than with the Graco TrueCoat especially if you’re trying to hide the wood grain. I prefer the Wagner Flexio because the paint is applied thinner and more efficiently, allowing me the ability to stretch my paint further over more square footage than with the Graco. The cleanup is also much simpler with the Wagner Flexio 3500. A through cleaning breaks the sprayer into 7 parts (9 parts with the air cleaner) which are easy to disassemble, clean, and reassemble. If you’re just stopping for a few hours and continuing painting later, you can do a field expedient cleanup: remove the paint cup, clean it, fill it with water, screw the paint cup of water back on, and shoot the water through the sprayer as if you’re painting (use mineral spirits of cleaning up after using oil-based coatings). Let the sprayer dry while you’re away, and it will be ready for you when you come back. Anytime you have skipping with either sprayer, the paint pickup is sucking in air instead of paint. Readjust your sprayer or your position to slow paint to be picked up instead of air and continue.
This right here is the review we should’ve gotten! Not a comparison with something that’s not even in the same class and $400 price difference. THANK YOU.
@@TheMissFlips Okay, Marissa - thank you! I am guessing from another of your commenters that this brand is expensive. But, often times we get what we pay for! Not that Wagner is a bad brand at all! I don't have a spray painter at all, but I sure wish I did. I would use it for finishes!! It is such a great option. Thanks again for doing the comps.
I am new to paint spraying and looking for my first paint sprayer. It seems to me that given the Wagner 3500 is under $200 and the Graco is $650 that the difference in performance is only to be expected.
I am trying to work out which paint sprayer to get. It's a minefield:-) I've looked at Wagner, Bosch, Nocry and Erbauer. I just want something that will give a reasonable on walls, ceilings and the woodwork. Videos like yours are a great help.
I use the tip that it came with. Honestly, after that first time, I didn’t have any issues! It says in the manual that if it pools, you’re not moving fast enough or you’re too close to the piece. Or a combination of both
The grace blows the Wagner away, I went through 3 flexios in the past year, thinning the paint and worrying about spray angle was annoying. The grace was quick to figure out and works flawlessly.
Definitely not familiar with the Wagner sprayer huh? Did you use the detail nozzle or the project nozzle? The detail nozzle is for fine finish. Also you can adjust your spray pattern on the Wagner from vertical to horizontal or circle. A small cap full of floetrol in the cup will also make a massive difference in your finish.
@@TheMissFlips if you really are familiar with the Wagner then you purposely did poorly with it. Not saying the Graco is bad but your definitely biased
@@TheMissFlips You must have used the wrong nozzle. Gray is not for this, fflp is good here. The nozzle number is the other value, which is very important. This can be used for walls.
@@kissn8888 interesting. I actually like seeing the wood grain underneath. It lets me see wood grain without having to be bare wood. I don’t see that as ugly at all. Just like cellulite
I wasn’t paid to do this video. I just thought I’d do a comparison so people can make up their minds for themselves. I showed every part of my process and didn’t lie or anything. It’s more so for people debating whether or not to spend that money. It’s worth it, but for people just starting out, or who can’t afford it yet, the Wagner will do just fine
I bought a Graco this week. I sent it back straight away purely because the build quality was terrible. None of the joins in the plastic were touching. It looked like it was just thrown together. Really disappointed and I didn’t even use it
I got the Graco, easiest spray gun i ever used, Pour the paint, prime, and paint lol it just Does not get any easier. I like the corded one, i cant stand the battery one.
I knew at the very beginning that this would be a biased video for the new sprayer. I've been using the Wagner for years and I can promise you that any time you are having issues with the way the Wagner is spraying is because of user error. Either you didn't clean it well enough or you didn't thin the paint properly, or you have trash in your paint. When you called the graco amazing before you ever opened the box, I knew where this was going
Are you kidding me ? Those are two completely different types of.sprayer ! This wagner is comple garbage! She's not.honest! Wagner have.not enough power even on 10 setting, that's why splatter , She's adding water to paint so the wagner can spray anything! I went to the nightmare wagner! It's good only for watery stain outside on fence! Graco cordet I have runs forever. She didn't even read instructions for graco
@@TheMissFlips How so? Maybe if you'd compared Wagner's battery operated unit with this Graco that would help, but comparing 2 very different priced units & one being battery powered doesn't help in the slightest. That's like comparing a Toyota Prius with a Dodge Durango. I liked your presentation & I can see that the Graco paints better but most likely so would any paint sprayer that's 3 times more expensive than the $180 Wagner.
@@victorramos3919 right! I have a ton of people asking if it’s worth getting the graco. So I send them to this video where they can see both in use and choose for themselves!
To be fair, I think this was great and practical. Most diyers or homeowners have a $50 Wagner or similar product even if it’s plugged into the wall. The t pro cost $700 so I think this is great for giving people the info they need to make the decision, if the want to UPGRADE. Thanks 🙏
Price difference please. And please use both when used and cleaned the same way. By you, which I am sure would be a lovely cleaning. I would clean out that Wagner gun because you have not cleaned it properly. Also thin your paint out in both as a good paint will cover nicely even when thinned down a bit. This was like comparing a used 2013 Chevy Impala with 95k miles on it and comparing it to a 2023 Camry Hybrid. You really think the Graco is a better gun? It is like Five times the price by the time you have invested in batteries and accessories and extra cups and tips. Hmmmmmm Next you can do two day old leftovers in a togo box from McDonalds and compare it to a freshly served 4 star Michelin restaurant and tell us more of the obvious. Thank you for the news flash there Katie Couric. Any more wisdom you have for us there Einstein? And next week we compare sleeping at the Ritz Carlton in New Yorks Manhattan with throwing down a sleeping bag in the back alley of that same hotel and cuddling up with Stinky the 73 year old homeless man with paranoid schizophrenia, one leg, and he hasn't showered this year. I WONDER WHICH ONE WILL BE BETTER. HMMMMMMMM, BEATS ME. WE WILL HAVE TO TRY IT TO FIND OUT.
I would never use an airless paint sprayer on cabinets or furniture and expect a nice levelled out coat. There is no air to break up the paint into small enough particles to get a really smooth coat as do HVLP sprayers (the Wagner for example: high volume low pressure). I could be wrong about it but I would use an airless paint sprayer on walls or a fence and leave the smooth work to finer painting machines. Sure everyone likes cordless tools but I really don't enjoy paying all that extra money for something that would be used (in most cases) where receptacles are nearby. I use cordless drills all the time and love them but I really prefer most tools to be corded in most cases. Then there is the ugly thing about mining the materials for all of the batteries; child slavery used in their mining, and all of the actual real pollution caused by their manufacturing. No, I am not an environmental fanatic but it is good at times to mention real pollution (and not the phony C02 fantasy global warming garbage (C02 is NOT a pollutant and neither is tungsten), cow farts are really not an issue and there are now more polar bears than there were in the 1950's)! I just had to get that out of my system! This is the first of your videos I have watched and I am really not criticizing your video! They take a lot of work but I just felt like doing a mini-rant here. Graco makes awesome products which I have used many times myself but these tools are really for different applications. Sure, I know people who use airless paint sprayers on vehicles and cabinets but I wouldn't recommend it. Thanks for you video and I will check out some of your others! Ok, I give up I just subscribed!
These two machines are very sensitive to paint thickness. I can see from the video that your paint is way too thick nobody wants to paint and leave splatters that size on the edge. No mention of how vast the price difference is on these two machines not worth it for the Graco.
You're not gonna get a great finish with two coats. You need a primer on the bare wood /fill the dents /touch up / then apply two coats. The primer lets the wood soak up paint so the finish just sits on top.
Thanks for the tips, however, I use paint and primer all in one. I took care of the dents before hand and personally like the wood grain showing through the paint. I also got wonderful coverage :)
@TheMissFlips I've been a decorator for 46 years. You can't prime and paint at the same time that doesn't make any sense. Priming is a separate process you do before painting. It needs to be dry before you paint. It has a purpose. How can you do them together ?!?!
@@TheMissFlips Yeah ok then I can see that all the knowledge I've accrued from top quality tradesmen in nearly 50 years in the trade doesn't hold up to your D.I.Y skills.
@@monkeyface6139not what I said in the least. I’m sure there are so many things I could learn from you. And I definitely use primer depending on the type of paint that I’m using. I just purchased a wagner. How do you thin the paint to prepare it for the job? What does it mean to prime the sprayer? Thanks in advance
If not, check out this video:
th-cam.com/video/Z9s_ZIkoj2A/w-d-xo.htmlsi=INFyVXQAKFBix78t
Graco is a known painting industry standard. So when I saw the title I knew what the outcome would be. As far as clean up, any one who paints knows that in order for your tools to work properly, you have to do an immediate & thorough clean up. Like Right Now !
Yup! Which I did, however, the cleanup is much more extensive than for the Wagner. Immediate or not
i had the same problem with my wagner i just got. i really have to turn the setting up high, which makes it splotchy. if your working outside and want to spray something at ground level so you dont get your brushes filled with dirt, the air the gun pushes out will kick the dirt up onto your project. but if you dont have enough power it simply wont cover what your doing. i did my entire old fence which is small spaced boards old style and i used it on that because its 40 yrs old and on its last breath and wanted to get it done before winter. i used it as a exterior paint and there is parts i just couldnt cover so i ended up using a roller on the entire thing anyways after to touch it up. i think its better for a primer where you dont need to be clean or worry about every spot covered. it also blows through the paint fast sometimes. but like she said in the video i had problems with it spraying at first and going through tons of paint, then it started spraying better and using less paint. it really made no sense honestly. i would prob never use a paint sprayer on something i really want to look good. only on something old thats a project for fun or something not important thats already falling apart. otherwise ill just use a paint brush for most things. even rollers sometimes leave a lumpy look and soak up the paint so i have to determine between roller and brush. if the surface is completely flat then ill do roller. oh also the overspray of the wagner is ridiculous. it blew prob 10 feet behind the fence i was spraying. i noticed halfway through and had to tarp every section so my rocks would stop being hit by paint. im amazed how much it covers far away that you arent spraying at vs what your actually spraying. oh also it is heavy as hell to, your arm will be sore unless your a brute mutant
Hahaha yeah, it definitely weighs a TON
Good suggestion!
You can buy 3 or 4 Wagners for the price of one Graco. Wagner at the right setting, right speed and thinning thicker paints should be close to the same.
Lol yes you can! Which is why I’m simply giving my honest opinion
a graco replacement pump is almost the cost of the flexio lol ..
What's the cost of the greyco, shouldn't uou put it up against the more powerful version
I was merely comparing a high priced paint sprayer vs a lower grade sprayer and seeing if the graco was worth the price
The w690 is still relitivily inexpensive, but has much better flow which is what seemed to let the cheaper unit down
This is more of a Graco promotion than an unbiased comparison.
I'm obsessed with my Graco paint sprayer! The clean up process each time is no joke though 😅
Lol I know!! Same!
Here are the steps to follow:
1.Give the furniture a deep clean.
I'd be happy to chat and offer any additional assistances
Regards
Ro
Thanks for the video. A question if you don't mind. I'm completely new to this. Why would you not use a pneumatic paint sprayer? For the price you pay for the Graco, you can probably get a compressor and a nice sprayer, can't you?
Yeah, you could for sure!! If you prefer to use that, use that. I say use whatever gets you results
The skip you are talking about is from air pockets, it needs to be primed at an angle when you set it up to reduce the amount of air at the top then you won't see skips.
Thank you for the tip!!
Seems like a lot of orange-peeling from the Graco. What tip size did you use and at what speed? Did you thin the paint?
The graco specifically says in the instructions not to thin the paint. There was absolutely no texture from the graco. Not sure about the tip size and speed since this video was awhile ago
@@TheMissFlips You can clearly see the orange peel effect at the 2:02 mark.
@@TheMissFlips
Use flo-trol flood in your paint. I use it in my Graco acts as a lubricant and gives the paint better flow.
@@patrickcowan8701 oooh good to know! Thanks!
The reason you got uneven coverage is that you are not overlapping your spray patterns evenly. Each pass should overlap the same amount approximately 50% 40 year auto paunter
Thanks for the tip!
After using it for a while, I gotta say I agree with you!
This right here is the review we should’ve gotten! Not a comparison with something that’s not even in the same class and $400 price difference. THANK YOU.
It was spitting because you didn’t bleed the air out. It is under a vacuum so flip the lid open and follow the instructions to bleed it out. Easy.
Thank you! I definitely followed the instructions to a T though
Thanks for the comparison! Good information. Does the Graco sprayer come from Harbor Freight?
I don’t believe so. Graco is it’s own brand
@@OwlingDogDesign of course! Thanks for watching!
It looks to me you didn't over lay the paint with the wagner.
I always overlay. Don’t know why I wouldn’t
Airless vs HVLP.
Both should be used for their own specific purposes, but excellent review nonetheless.
Thank you!!
I am new to paint spraying and looking for my first paint sprayer. It seems to me that given the Wagner 3500 is under $200 and the Graco is $650 that the difference in performance is only to be expected.
Yes! Definitely. Which is why I say if you’re just starting out, the Wagner will do just fine! :)
I am trying to work out which paint sprayer to get. It's a minefield:-)
I've looked at Wagner, Bosch, Nocry and Erbauer. I just want something that will give a reasonable on walls, ceilings and the woodwork. Videos like yours are a great help.
What size tip did you use in the Graco? I had the same issue with pooling and drips with the Graco so I just quit using it. Lol
I use the tip that it came with. Honestly, after that first time, I didn’t have any issues! It says in the manual that if it pools, you’re not moving fast enough or you’re too close to the piece. Or a combination of both
@@TheMissFlipshave you tried using the staining tip/mesh? And just super thinning the paint?
@@ChabelaFlips this particular sprayer says specifically not to thin the paint
I don't spray because the brush relaxes me. Anyway, I hate brushing top coats. This would be a great alternative 😊. Thanks for doing this!
For sure! Yeah, I’m not a huge fan of brushing top coats either. Plus, sprayers are good for when you have deadlines
The grace blows the Wagner away, I went through 3 flexios in the past year, thinning the paint and worrying about spray angle was annoying. The grace was quick to figure out and works flawlessly.
Agreed
Grace?
Graco? ... Graco
Yup! I’m very familiar with it :) just doing the comparison so people can decide for themselves
@@TheMissFlips if you really are familiar with the Wagner then you purposely did poorly with it. Not saying the Graco is bad but your definitely biased
Did the Graco use more paint overall?
Nope! Less actually! And It was easier to get all the paint out of the container because it’s so malleable
You needed to turn the power up to stop the spitting btw, Run it around 7 to 10 for thick paints.
I did
@@TheMissFlips try a fflp 308 it’s really good for what you’re doing, It looks like you’re having a lot of fun with it :-) great videos, thank you.

Massive difference in price between the 2. For the money, I would hope the Graco would be better.
Exactly :) now it’s up to you to decide whether it’s worth it or not
Seems to me that you'll need two batteries for the Graco if you're doing a big project. Otherwise, you'll be taking a long brake between charges.
Definitely a good investment. It works with dewalt batteries though so if you already have one, no need
What nozzle did you use for the graco?
The surface is very orange. Maybe you didn't put in the ideal one?
Which surface is orange? The green one? I used the one that it came with
@@TheMissFlips Here in Hungary, we call it orange when the paint has an ugly grooved surface. Like cellulite skin.
This is NOT Fair...
This is Apples and Oranges...
Graco is more of the Professional side...
Wagner is great... just depending on which one you get.
It’s normal that stay on?
I don’t understand your question :/
Would be a better review, not between a Wagner XVLP 4000 (18V) or at least any XVLP. Wagner which is also in the Price Range of a Graco.
I did the review so people could decide whether it’s in their budget and worth buying for them
You must reduce the paint it is clear to see in the Wagner spray
I do it for the Wagner. It says not to for the graco
you should get a small tip like maybe 310

I bought a Graco this week. I sent it back straight away purely because the build quality was terrible. None of the joins in the plastic were touching. It looked like it was just thrown together. Really disappointed and I didn’t even use it
Dang! I had the opposite experience
I got the Graco, easiest spray gun i ever used, Pour the paint, prime, and paint lol it just Does not get any easier. I like the corded one, i cant stand the battery one.
Haha fair enough!
I did the review so people can decide for themselves whether it’s worth the investment

Sure thing!
I don't think you primed the gun... that's why it spattered. Gotta squeeze the air out nexttimes

Very different units wagner hvlp, Graco airless. More paint via Airless less via hvlp
For sure
HVLP vs airless.
2 different types for different situations.
Agreed!
Price and results; Wagner is a very good spray gun
100% agree!
How is this an apples to apples comparison? The Wagner is $180 & the Graco is close to $600.
Right :) so I’m helping people determine whether it’s worth spending the money
@@TheMissFlips How so? Maybe if you'd compared Wagner's battery operated unit with this Graco that would help, but comparing 2 very different priced units & one being battery powered doesn't help in the slightest. I would never feel comfortable using a cordless paint sprayer.
Why’s that?
@@TheMissFlips Given my luck the battery would die half way through.
Haha thanks for all the info! I appreciate your input and the subscription
These two machines are very sensitive to paint thickness. I can see from the video that your paint is way too thick nobody wants to paint and leave splatters that size on the edge. No mention of how vast the price difference is on these two machines not worth it for the Graco.
I water down my paint for the Wagner every time I use it. The graco instructions specifically direct you not to

You're not gonna get a great finish with two coats.
You need a primer on the bare wood /fill the dents /touch up / then apply two coats. The primer lets the wood soak up paint so the finish just sits on top.
