I love this piece. It is GORGEOUS, would love to have a piece like that. Thanks for the sprayer top because I just bought a Wagner sprayer and have been afraid to use it 🥴. Still somewhat intimidated with it but think I will give it a shot this up coming week. Thanks for all the helpful tips. I love watching your videos as I do pick up so much from them. I finally just got a Wagner 590 after unicycle with rollers and brushes . I found d any dark pieces would be more time consuming to get rid of streaks or patches from roller was frustrating would literally be all good then there would always be one spot streaky so would have to do the top again etc with a black or dark colours x and thsnoyu this is the best soray tutorial I’ve seen very needed thsnoyu xxx
Let me suggest that you use a product called Flotrol rather than water, available in similar product labels at big box stores. Flotrol is designed specifically to improve flo without watering down the paint and therefore diluting benefits. I've use this product for 50+ years. I think you'll find the results much more to your liking.
I have used many sprayers including a HVLP electric to paint my doors. You did a great job on your furniture make over and explained it well for any beginner to give it try. Nice looking finish.
I'll say this now for anyone using this type of spray gun if you spray it and nothing comes out after using it 3 or so times check the pump area they get clogged super easy with dry paint build up and I've fixed 100s of these and sold them after people returned them (Amazon pallet buy usually quick fixes and easy money returns) because they thought they were broken, when all it takes is a 15min tear down and it's fixed. Good luck with the job look forward to seeing what you come up with I'm in lock down in Australia and I've been re doing everything I can find wife is loving and hating it at the same time hahahaha.
You sound like you know something about spray guns, What type of gun is the best to buy? I was wondering if the gravity feed might be a good way to go. Have a compressor that I use for my nail guns, haven’t checked, but assume it would be strong enough. Saw a brand called Spray It
@@robertawills7219 I have used this. And can confirm it does clog up. The only thing to do is clean it frequently with water by spraying it, and of course diluting the paint. It’s a pain for sure.
Love it, great job. Thank you for the encouragement. My husband got me a Wagner sprayer for my Bday and came across your video which is giving me great ideas to transform our new home. God bless!
I have a Flexio and love how quickly it gets my projects done. Tip for using a paint sprayer. Mine came with a large and small container. I use the smaller container for my top coat and have everything ready so as soon as the paint is dry I can apply the top coat. You did a great job on your piece, looks so nice 👌
Wow!! Absolutely gorgeous. I was quite frustrated the 1st and 2nd time I used my sprayer. I am used to spraying with an industrial one when I help my husband with his house flips. It kept clogging and I had to constantly clean it in between each coat. My BEST advice to beginners is to subscribe to your TH-cam videos. I have learned pretty much everything from watching you. You are so darn to earth, honest and just plain awesome !!
I love how this piece turned out. The copper looks gorgeous against the black. I’m still a beginner when it comes to using a paint sprayer (only used one once so far) but I enjoyed how quickly it went compared to using a brush.
Wow - it is gorgeous! I have used a Wagner sprayer and it was so so quick to use! I had 4 very 'spindly' breakfast bar stools that I bought for our daughter's college home and I dreaded painting all those crazy spindles - the paint sprayer made it a breeze!!! Such a good investment! Yankee Blue for the win! My best tip for paint sprayers - clean all your parts and than clean them again - I use a reusable STRAW cleaner brush and a baby BOTTLE brush - just getting into every nook and cranny.
Christina, I really admire your work.I also purchase old furnitures in bad condition and renew them in the same manner. It's a real therapy... All the best !
Love it! This is my favorite so far. I prefer to use my sprayer most of the time to get a “factory finish” that I can only seem to get using a sprayer. I use a cheap tent outside when spraying and I need to protect my work (from falling leaves) and in the workshop; with 3 to 5 minutes, a ladder, some clear plastic and a staple gun I can easily make a “paintbooth” hung from the rafters to protect from overspray. The key to proficiency is practice practice practice! Start on smaller, inexpensive projects first, so you are not overwhelmed by the size or the stress of having ruined a prized possession.
I have used this sprayer to spray a building. Turned out nice ! The one thing I would recommend is make sure you strain the paint and dilute . Took me a while to get the hang of it but sure made painting go quicker once I figured it out .
Looks fantastic! I must ask though, how did you address the front side edges of the drawers? I know they don’t show when closed, but it would bother me to see the original espresso stain colour every time I open a drawer. Also, is there any paint build-up in the spaces between drawers since you left them in to paint? I’ve always removed drawers to paint but that was just for brushing, not spraying.
I'm often curious about that too. Video tutorials seem to step right over that detail. When I've painted furniture in the past, I had to sand the drawer edges to be able to close after painting edges
I've only used brushes but now I'm excited to get a sprayer. However, I'm still a bit scared but you've made me a bit confident in trying to use a sprayer. Again, beautiful creation! 😍
I was like you, intimidated with sprayers. Tried it and honestly, don’t think I’ll look back. Even if I have a really small project, like a key holder, I’ll just use a rattle can. Soooooo much easier. That test piece advise is gold! Try that always!
I bought this sprayer and it's so much easier than brushing. The prep is important for drawers . Definitely start with the middle then sides because of how the plastic piece goes down to the paint
I could never figure out how people protected their surroundings when using a paint sprayer.. the tent is such a handy idea!! I have never used a sprayer but when I do I will use that tip. Finished product looks great :) I’m a super beginner so I have no tips personally but enjoy reading the other tips 😂
Or go to appliance store and get a fridge box from dumpster or have them hold 1-2 nice 6’ tall cardboard and then unfolds 3x as box has 4 sides makes a nice panel! Or cheap plastic Walmart is cheapest 3pack plastic liner is like 1.28 if u want a reusable get thicker plastic like $5-6 for 1-2 grab 1x2 firing strips staple plastic to strips kind of making a wall pulled tight then stand up 1x2 board and screw into stud if u have unfinished garage etc or just make a full square frame with 1x2 then cover it with plastic under an hr u got a booth and with think plastic u can reuse it’
This is fantastic. I did some furniture with a sprayer, but used matt wall paint, years ago. It still looks great...so I don't have a tip but was wondering why most people use furniture paint.
That turned out fantastic! I’ve used a sprayer before on the pieces I’ve done and I agree that the smooth finish and quick application makes it all worth it. Even if you prefer brushes it’s worth a try. 😁👍🏾
Love the copper with the black! I have a sprayer. Love it. Haven’t used it since I broke my arm. I think I’ll dig it out this week! Tips? Slow and steady. Water your paint down. I think you covered it all.
I’ve never used a sprayer but am really interested in possibly buying one. I absolutely love how this piece turned out. Your whole bedroom looks amazing.
I am a newbie when it comes to painting furniture. I'm still getting used to the different types of brushes. I hope to someday get a sprayer. I love how this project turned out. It was so smooth because of the sprayer. Love your channel!
I have decided to redecorate with free furniture. But I would love to get a sprayer for the chairs. There are 8. Was going to by spray cans but can likely get a spray gun for that
Yes I have used a sprayer , to spray a wooden ladder that I use to water my living wall. It’s painted a mint color and I used live ferns as stencils painted in greens and pinks and navy blue.
Stunning, so so pretty! I’m in awe over this piece and just love the modern dark color with copper knobs. Gorgeous with your room! I’m inspired to try this myself in my master bedroom with scratched and dated brown mismatched furniture. We have a sprayer but never used it. I’m ready now and appreciate your tips! Thank you so much for all the inspiration!
I love Xavier. I just did a very large Mexican Pine coffee table and 2 matching bookshelves. So much work but spraying the bookshelves saved me so much time and went on so smooth. Love spraying... especially chairs!
My sprayer arrived to the house about three or four weeks ago. My tip is to JUST DO IT! Thank you for the great tutorial and love how the copper gilding wax gave the piece such a fresh updated look. Paint sprayer, here I come!
Christina, you make everything seem so easy. I have been thinking about sprayer for a while now and want to get one that is affordable and super easy to use. I think this wagner spray may be the one. Love the dixie belle caviar color that you have used with the copper hardware. Love love love it.
I watched with intensity. I have two sprayers and have been very afraid to try. You freed me from my fear. I think I will try the caviar on a kitchen table set that I’m thinking 🤔 of flipping this fall. My advice as a beginner is to step out of fear and embrace the boldness.
I have a large piece that I stripped 2 years ago but never got back around to painting. I just purchased the Flexio 3000 and can't wait to paint everything! Yours turned out beautifully
I wanted to buy a sprayer, but wanted to try it first. My son let me use his and I redid a dresser with Dixie Belle Serenity to flip and loved how easy and fast it was and the results were amazing. First time and no regrets. I haven’t tried top coat with a sprayer yet. Your piece is beautiful.
I just recently started spraying. I haven’t sprayed the chalk paint line but I have sprayed the silk paint and omg it sprays beautifully and levels out perfectly.
Getting me a sprayer the MINUTE I get back to the states next month!!! Stationed in Okinawa Japan and cannot wait to get home to do some fun projects like this! Thanks for what you do!
I used a sprayer once, wasn't the best experience. Couldn't get the right amount of spray, then got too much spray. But now I'm itching to try it again. Thanks for all the tips you gave
I have a cheap sprayer I've been afraid to use, but I've also been painting more than one color on my pieces. When I do use one though, advice like this will help for sure!
Wow! I love the way the caviar and gatorhide sprayed on. It looks great with the copper knobs. I have never used a sprayer. I prefer hand painting, I enjoy it but spraying might come in handy with the big pieces or jusy applying my topcoat.
I am a new flipper and just ordered this same sprayer today. I am so excited to get the finish that you achieved. And talk about a time saver. As I am new, I am in no place to give advice just yet. Have fun everyone.
Love this! I have used a Wagner Flexio before and my tip is to definitely do not get lazy with the clean process. It’s near impossible to get it to spray properly if the paint has dried in the spray mechanism. Save yourself the headache and just clean it every time.
Love the contrast of the drawer pulls and the black dresser. I haven't used a sprayer yet, but I might consider it now that I've seen you do it. Thanks for the great tips.
Awesome job on your dresser. Love the color and no I have never used a sprayer. But I like that it makes the job a lot faster and great idea in using a tent to protect your garage.
Wow! That came out spectacular! My only time using a sprayer was a similar sized Wagner for interior walls, and it was a disaster. It wasn’t any faster than a roller, and the overspray got all over the place. Maybe for furniture it works much better. I’m sure I was a big part of the problem, but I have no idea what I could’ve done differently.
Thank you so much for doing a paint sprayer video! I’ve done a few pieces with one and really appreciate your locked wrist technique and showing how to fix paint drips and lint that sticks to a wet piece. Thank you also for showing how paint and top coat spraying are both alike in technique but different in terms of thickness and how that varies in the sprayer setting. I’ve yet to spray top coats and wasn’t sure if I’d have to add water or not so now I feel more comfortable trying it. Thanks, again…..love all your videos!
BEAUTIFUL! Would you consider doing a video on how you clean your sprayer? I bought a Wagner a few years ago, sprayed my bed frame with thinned latex and LOVED the outcome however even though I spent forever cleaning the sprayer, even spraying it until completely clean & clear water came out & cleaned all the parts to like new, it wouldn’t spray again- as if it was clogged! I’d love to see the steps you take to make sure yours is clean. Thanks!
Brovo!!!! I love that your furniture isn’t matchy matchy! It’s an awesome balance!!! I have not used a sprayer ever. I would like to try but I haven’t gotten the courage up yet!
I have never used a sprayer and it's been ages since I did any kind of furniture flip. But I AM at a point in my life where I am looking at different ways to earn a living (...) at home in our newly purchased ancestral home... I think I've just had a bit of an epiphany !!! And I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the Dixie Belle colors !!!! Thanks for all the tips and your calculation sheet !! First time viewer but definitely subscribing and will follow closely !!! ☺🙏
I have been looking to purchase an electric paint sprayer with Wagner being one of my top picks. This video has helped me decide on not only the make but the model as well. The Wagner 3000 is it!
That turned out so nice. Yes, I have a battery operated sprayer. It's so heavy though with the clunky rechargeable battery. It's old and it may be time for an upgrade. As always, thanks for the info.
Very informative and a great feeling of success in the end you can enjoy. I really do love recycling anything into something better. It’s a good thing right!!Thanks for being part of my day 🙏
Thank you for including DETAILS. I have never used a sprayer, but I am interested in purchasing one so I can spray my kitchen cabinets. I think it would work easily, especially with the Dixie Belle Gator Hide.
The colour really brought the dresser to life. I am just beginning to paint furniture and I have never used a paint sprayer before. Maybe sometime in the near future.
I subscribed to both channels: yours and Dixie Belle’s. I’ve never used a sprayer. I avoid large pieces of furniture because of the amount of work to paint it by hand. A sprayer sounds like the answer. That sander is in my wishlist, too.
OMG, Thank you so much for the tip on laying the piece on the ground and spraying! I sprayed a dresser and did not get any paint puddle/build up. Thanks again!
I have used my sprayer twice. Like you I have been a little frightened by it. Thank you for the tips! I have a large piece that I will spay I feel more confident with you info!
Wow! Thank you so much for providing us with great tips. I have different sprayer & my first try came out horrible. After watching your video, I have the confidence to try again. Might even go out and buy the same sprayer. Thanks!
Christina thank you for sharing. I bought a Wagner 5000 paint sprayer and I have been afraid to try it. I hope I get the courage to start using the sprayer. I love the piece you did❤
This is the best paint sprayer tutorial I've seen. Thank you! I plan to pick up a sprayer soon and give this a try. Love, your channel. It's easily one of my faves.
That shabby guy is the king of spray, but after watching this video Muscari for the win! Very comprehensive and you covered all the bases! It seems so intimidating until you go for it!
I have a Wagner 2000 and love it! Best advice...patience is key, mistakes will be made but it's all a learning lesson 🥰 Great job...love the black and copper! Final look is amazing!
I used a sprayer two years ago for the first time for my kitchen table and six chairs. I’ve since moved and don’t have a garage but look forward to spraying again someday. Thanks for all the tips. Your piece turned out great!
I love how this turned out. I used to do my projects with brushes and I love my Wagner sprayer. It gives such a smooth finish, and takes up less time. My tip is always make sure you spray something before you spray your projects I learned the hard way on a couple of mine.
I’m learning so much by watching Christina. I’ve ordered Dixie belle products over the last week or so and the gator hide is pretty awesome. Thank you Christina and Dixie Belle, painting is really helping me relax and focus during a tough time.
Missed you glad you are back. To me black is soooo hard to get good results but now I think I’m going to try that sprayer I bought a year ago and is still in the box! What an elegant understated piece you created….love it!
I am totally new to furniture flipping! I have just started working on a piece and have been trying to learn everything I can about how to use a sprayer. Thanks for sharing all of your tips!
I've always been intimidated by spraying but I believe after watching this video I am going to jump right in and purchase a Wagner 3000. I absolutely love the finish u got on the chest. I also haven't tried Dixie but I love the look of it. Thx.
I've never use a sprayer before or finished any furniture but I do have 3 dressers that I need to redo just trying to learn how with some videos and I love all the paints from Dixie Bell they have so many pretty colors you make it look so easy I just hope mine dressers look that nice.
I’ve never used a sprayer, but is definitely on my list of wants/needs. I just keep telling myself one thing at a time lol. I’m just getting started at flipping and hoping to make it successful, fingers crossed 🤞🏻!

I really appreciated this lesson, Christina, thank you. I am less nervous about trying a sprayer on furniture now. Your Gentleman's Chest turned out beautiful!
I just bought a paint sprayer and cannot wait to use it. Thank you for the beginner tips. This is exactly what I was looking for to start using my new paint sprayer.
I just bought a sprayer because brushing and rolling in this summer heat is brutal! I looked up this video that I saw several times scrolling through TH-cam. You did an amazing job and I'm now ready to get started. Thank you so much!
Thanks for sharing, your timing is perfect! Tomorrow is the day! I received a Graco360 for a birthday gift. I'm doing a dresser, and a road side find of 2 side tables and a coffee table. I too love the gilding wax, it's a miracle in a jar! Thank you for the inspiration!

Flotrol helps level paint but doesn’t thin it for sprayers…what she did is correct
Floetrol is for latex paint, not chalk or mineral paints! Never use it with a true water based paint!

Looks like a perfect buttery finish!!! Biggest tips are test your sprayer first and be consistent in your spraying technique.
Great tip!
It’s a good thing right!!Thanks for being part of my day 🙏
I love using the sprayer. But I also forget how much quicker it makes things. Plus I enjoy painting. thanks for your insights. Welcome back
Amazingly thorough explanation of the painting process. Thank you! Am glad to have found your video and will check out more.
Thank you for including DETAILS. I have never used a sprayer, but I am interested in purchasing one so I can spray my kitchen cabinets. I think it would work easily, especially with the Dixie Belle Gator Hide.
Just used a sprayer for the first time last week - life changing!
Thanks!
I just got my sprayer, so I really appreciate your videos that show us step by step how to use them. So helpful! You piece is gorgeous!
Excellent sprayer instructional video! Your explanations were great! I'm new to spraying too and love my Wagner Flexio sprayer! Welcome back!
Wow.... I'm in the process of moving and because of this video I'm keeping my funiture and painting it!
I just got a sprayer and watched your videos for some tips, since I've never used one before. Now I'm getting excited.
I love how this turned out. I used to do my projects with brushes and I love my Wagner sprayer. It gives such a smooth finish, and takes up less time. My tip is always make sure you spray something before you spray your projects I learned the hard way on a couple of mine.
can't wait to spray my first piece! I feel so much more prepared now that I've watched your video for beginners!
Ugh, I always have issues with my Wagner, but I'll try again! Love DBs gilding waxes for stencils, then come out so clear.
It already had a nice color to begin with. The spraying looks good.
The copper goes well with the black. I think that definitely was the best choice.
I have not used a Sprayer. I just started flipping furniture and I am really wanting to try a Sprayer. This video helped so much!! Thank you!!
I’m learning so much by watching Christina. I’ve ordered Dixie belle products over the last week or so and the gator hide is pretty awesome. Thank you Christina and Dixie Belle, painting is really helping me relax and focus during a tough time.
LOVE how it turned out.
I haven’t used a sprayer yet, but as a newbie furniture painter, the tips and tricks have been really helpful.
Nice video. I really appreciate the time spent describing actual technique for using the sprayer
I’m starting a similar piece this week. Yes, the size is intimidating! Considering spraying now.
I loved how the caviar sprayed! Turned out beautiful. Would love to try out the Gator Hide.
Video is priceless with all your tips especially tinting topcoat Dixie Belle paint is awesome for self leveling. Enjoy your videos & keep them coming😊 following you & Dixie Belle
No I’ve never used a sprayer, but after watching you I think I need to try it. I do use Dixie Belle products. One of the best chulk paint on the market. Your cabinet look beautiful
Love the dark grounding that this brings! I’ve only used a sprayer once, and you covered my tips- go slow and test it first 🥰
Loved the video. I have never used a sprayer, but now, after watching this, feel more confident about using one.
Thank You for this tutorial! I've only sprayed once and I didn't like it? But, now I know what I did wrong and I'm going to try again! 😀 I love the idea of spraying the Gator Hide, it looks great.
A sprayer gives a professional finish and is worth the learning curve. Your piece came out great!
Beautiful! Never used a sprayer but excited to try one day. Rollers are my go to for now.
I just bought a sprayer because brushing and rolling in this summer heat is brutal! I looked up this video that I saw several times scrolling through TH-cam. You did an amazing job and I'm now ready to get started. Thank you so much!
I'm a newbie to a sprayer, and it scares me every time I use it. I appreciate you saying not to give up--we will get better.
Never sprayed. These instructions are amazing. I have no fear of spraying now. Ty so much. 😍
I love that copper hardware! I’m still a beginner and have only used a paint brush, but eventually I’ll break down and get a sprayer!
